Great store and restaurant combo. Today they had the cabeza (head) taco, I ate it. It was a simple mind over grey matter scenario. The tacos were great, very authentic and flavorful. They had a great selection of goods in their store. We were able to find some authentic peppers and spices needed for a few recipes. I would recommend the 3 street taco platter. You can’t go wrong.

The food is great. Yes, the tacos are super and use corn tortillas that do not fall apart, but the guac is also fabulous.The salsa bar is gone, alas. Presumably because of covid. However, they have a variety of fresh salsas that they bring out for you to try, and always have some hotter ones if you ask.Sometimes they have a habanero salsa that is to die for. Very fresh and flavorful with a building heat.Presently my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Just thinking about this place makes me hungry.

Wonderful salsa bar that you can choose from for the chips served warm. Limited menu but our server told us they could make anything we wanted. It was true and they made me a salad topped with fajita meat. Guacamole and cheese dip were very good also even though they were not listed on the menu. It was an enjoyable meal.

Incredible tacos, small store front filled with most authentic Mexican products. This location also has a butcher shop, very friendly people.

This is my current favorite Mexican restaurant in Evansville, largely because of the salsa bar. Ive been here at least three times for lunches, and the food is always great. The menu is basic, but theyll make custom dishes upon request. I also really like the horchata, and order it every time.

Grocery has a nice selection for its size. The chorizo from the butchers case is excellent. Going to have to come back and try the tacos.

I like this place as both a store and a restaurant. My favorite thing to buy from their grocery section is their marinated meats. Theyre so low priced and delicious. The food served here is amazing! We used to really really really love their tamales until we started getting some really spicy ones a few times too many so we stopped getting them but some people like that (Im just really weak to overly spicy food). Their tacos are the best. My favorite is the Carnitas.

As close to tacos from CA as you can get!! Feels like a piece of home to me. Great service, never been disappointed with any thing weve eaten there. Highly recommend!

Outstanding service and fresh, delicious food. I had the steak quesadilla and enjoyed it. The fresh salsa bar offers a variety of different tastes. I also checked out the fresh meat selection they had at the grocery and got some al pastor for dinner tonight. Very affordable. Will definitely return.

FYI... The salsa bar is gone!!! My hubby and I use to looove this restaurant. The original manager was a Chicago native like us and he knew exactly how to prepare authentic Mexican Cuisine. The new manager(s) has lived in Evansville way too long. If youve ever had authentic Mexican food you will agree that this place is not good at all anymore. They have false advertisement. On their menu they show their food all dressed up but when you order from their menu its nothing like the picture. Tonight I simply ordered 3 steak tacos. I asked for no onions. What i received were 3 dry steak tacos with nothing but cilantro and bread. I always ordered their tacos and Ive never had a problem until new management stepped in. I was told that I had to pay for additional items, which I did. They charged me an extra $5 for judt tomatoes and cheese. I could go to Rulers and get a whole pound of tomatoes for less than $2.50 just like Im sure they did. I refuse to pay $2.50 for a half of a tomatoe. I believe in paying good money to eat good but Im not a fool either. Then, to make matters worst. The server went to the kitchen to change my order and she stayed back there for a while. It took way longer than it should have to come back with my food. When she came back she cracked a grin as if I was really dumb enough to pay for spit tacos. I got my refund. I, my family, or our friends will NOT be going back to this place. They need to be shut down for the whole spit incident before one of them get hurt. Not everyone use good judgment.

The food is delicious! I am from California and it is very hard to find authentic Mexican food in Indiana. This place is it! Dont let the exterior fool you. Additionally, the market (in the same building) has a wide variety of items that are hard to find! This is simply the best mexican in the tri-state area hands down. I cant recommend the food enough.

I am from NWI THE MECCA of Mexican bodega restaurants this place is awesome friendly service and great food woth speedy service. This establishment is run by hardworking friendly people whi accommodate theyre customers.

The food was not good at all and the server was not attentive and uninviting. Definitely not retiring to this restaurant and I dont recommend it to anyone. But than again I know what real authentic Mexican food should taste like.

Repeating customer, i love the food and the people, but I’ll say they’re a little unorganized, I would’ve gave it a 5 stars if I wasn’t for waiting 15-20 extra minutes for food that’s been ready 10 minutes from ordering.

Wow! This place is sooo delicious. Perfect location, very clean and ample parking. Their street tacos are BEST in town. Also if you want real salsa come HERE, you have a choice of 5 different varieties from mild quacamole salsa to a very spicy habenero variety located on the salsa bar. No canned salsa in sight! Phew! Thank you for finally bringing authentic Mexican cuisine to Evansville.

Small space but it has everything youd want, including things you cant get anywhere else in town like fresh produce, meats, and cheeses. Also excellent selection of dried chiles and spices. Once the taqueria opens itll be even better.

When you buy tacos, check your tortillas. They do not ballan to give them like the ones they sold me full of lama and rotten in the middle and they do not want to change them because they do not have enough… becausei xk instead of tacos they give the pure tortillas with fat xk the meat shines x their absense. thats why I no longer buy tacos there 😜
