We purchased a refrigerator cost 2300+..set up delivery and paid extra for delivery people to move our old fridge to our pole barn...so we go to check out an are told the 10% discount for veterans doesnt apply to this.(I guess it only applies if you buy a 5$ box of screws or other cheap item) so anyway we leave store and await delivery...the date comes and delivery people tell us they cant bring new fridge in because there is no shut off for the water that goes to the ie maker..so they tell us they will send a plumber free of charge to attend to this...after 2 weeks of not hearing from a plumber we call.. and get a date set up for plumber(its now 4 weeks out) the plumber is a no show...we reschedule again the plumber cancels... so we hire a plumber to get this accomplished. Now the day finally comes whe they bring fridge again...ok its installed.. not they tell us they cant move old fridge to pole barn because they have to remove doors and they can only haul it away or leave it where it sits...so not wanting a fridge sitting in the middle of they kitchen...so we lost that fridge. We call and complain and are told old fridge is already recycled but they will sell us 100$ check as compensation..its now 3 months later and no check has come...needless to say we will never buy anything from home depot again....Lowes will get all our business

I went in to get metal roofing, the guy acted like I was a bother and told me it would most likely be cheaper to go to Clymer Eastern Metal. This rather torked me off I knew what I needed. Nice employee there

Was working on a project on the cheap I wasnt to sure about - I was informed by an associate that the reason my 1/2 ID piping wouldnt fit is I need a 5/8 OD to meet my needs. He showed me how, if I used a step down bit, I could get the 5/8 to 1/2 - I decided to give it a try. Just got home and it WORKED!!! EVAN S. working in hardware today was Awesome!!! Thanks for everything and the knowledge. You and Home Depot saved me a lot of cash today. 2 thumbs up 👍👍

Very poor customer service today. I tried price matching a gas range that was at Lowe’s. The male employee was not friendly at all and had an attitude. We took our $700 sale back down to Erie’s Lowe’s. Will not be returning here.
They had an item i wanted, that none of the home depots had in stock....and they held it for me....so we took a road trip down the thruway for shopping and dinner...and even stopped at the casino....brook even....great day trip

Had a real bad experience at home depot today The associate in the paint department Made it clear that she wasnt going be helping anybody black Ask questions and was ignored Instead of helping me she chose to help the person that was in line behind me Never experience anything like this before at home depot When I asked to speak with the manager she made sure she was able to tell her side about what happened first Manager just totally dismissed my complaint After that experience I dont know if Ill be going back to home depot again Erie PA location

I appreciate Home depot but you will have to be very careful, when getting something that needs cutting like my vertical blinds and this can happen to me as well the cut was to be 5 it wasnt but I made it work once home but it is the beauty of being a human we make mistakes, and I still need more vertical blinds cutts so I am on my way.

We picked out our floor tile, their website said there was more than enough in stock. Wife went to pick them up after work. Took forever for anyone to help her bc there was only 1 associate. She shows him the tile we want on her phone. He says they have it he just had to find. He looked and never found it. So he led her through how to place her order for curbside pick-up and when they find it she can pick it up. Then they looked at wall tile which took over an hour bc they didnt have enough in stock or what they had in stock was broken. Finally she goes up front to get the floor tile and they tell her itll be a couple hours. After she leaves she gets an email saying it wont be in stock for 2 weeks. After talking with in store customer support and their website customer support their only suggestion to me was to drive hours away on my own dime to buy the tile from a store that does have it in stock. Also they couldnt refund the curbside pickup until it shipped to the store. So I get to pay twice as much for tile up front bc they were completely incompetent at every stage!

Purchased a Great Dusk-to-Dawn Outside LED Security Light to replace a unit that had probably been installed 30-40 years ago. I was surprised by the Quality of the unit manufactured by COMMERCIAL ELECTRIC as well as the Very competitive price.
Overall no issues except the website and app fail to define whether or not there is stock. So you check the app it shows there can be as many as 344 of those items available tomorrow, but doesnt tell you if they are available today or in stock or not. Then you get to the store and find where they should be and they are not there. Like I said like the store, just fight with the app and website often.
Plumbing supplies are always organized. I never have a problem finding anything.

Came into Home Depot looking for anchor stakes for my chain link fence so my dog would stop pushing under. I came in with a specific product from the Home Depot website the associate glanced at it and said those are zip ties (they weren’t) they won’t do anything. Then the solution I was provided was to put hot sauce in the dirt because it’ll keep the dog away from the spot. Walked out, went to Lowe’s and within 10 minutes was presented with three options which I ended up purchasing. This has settled the Lowe’s vs. Home Depot debate for me.

I stopped at Home Depot today to pick up some paint for my doors. The woman, I believe her name was Jen, hope I got that correct, she had to be the best person I have ever had to help me with purchasing anything ever. I was there about 11:00 till 12:30, approximately. She should be highly rewarded for not only what she did for me but she kept on helping other customers at the same time. Congrats to Home Depot for finding this gem.

Looking for tools, lumber, paint and even supplies then Home Depot should be your first stop. I can always find what Im looking for and then a few other things that I need that was not on my list. Staff are friendly and helpful even if it is not their section, they will walk you to where you need to be. Prices are great and if your a Veteran they will gladly thank you for your service and give the discount. Shop on line and pick it up or have it delivered to home. A great place to get your supplies for that home project.

The Home Depot really should train their employees more and better. I feel like it’s a 50/50 chance you get a 1) nice and 2) knowledgeable individual who actually works there who is also 3) willing to help.

Please be extra careful and cautious when buying carpets from these people. They don’t tell you how much time will it take for them to send it to their installer and then how much time further they will take to reschedule your installation, even though there is sign in the store that read 7 day installation guarantee. On top of that the head of the department was almost rude in telling me that there is a restocking fee if I cancel my order because it’s going to take 30 days after I paid them last week for them to finally & hopefully schedule an appointment. Intriguing part was that he couldn’t show me in the agreement where the restocking fee clause was.

Take into Consideration - if this is important to your purchase decisions. In November we went to Erie and purchased a side-by-side refrigerator at Home Depot. We talked to two appliance employees and quickly made the purchase as we had earlier researched our options. All the computer screens stated a December 3rd delivery date which was just a few weeks away. We were assured that the deliveries had been pretty reliable and if there was a problem we would hear well in advance. This was important to us as we had to adjust a door frame and tend to some other details - plus Home Depot readily took our full $$.In regularly checking the online delivery tracking it continued to state December 3rd as the delivery date - UNTIL just 36 hours prior to delivery - a day and a half away. In the morning of December 1st the tracking stated December 3rd but by afternoon it stated FEBRUARY 4th. We immediately telephoned the store. It took 4 conversations plus call backs with various employees who couldnt tell us anything but that the delivery date had changed. One employee even suggested an available fridge could have been switched to someone else for some reason. But, if our LL Bean holiday Whoopi Cakes gift purchase going to Michigan could be tracked every mile and destination with successful, on-time delivery, where was our refrigerator-literally? Is this the best Home Depot can do in its purchase-tracking-delivery modeling?Bill P., one of the managers, was helpful and persistent in trying to get answers for us. Seems that the manufacturer hadnt even manufactured that model nor had shipped it. So why did we not know this sooner? Why was this just left up to the tracking and delivery app? And would this happen again for the February 4th delivery date? This was incredibly frustrating and we werent willing to chance a repeat situation. We canceled the order and were given a refund, but in the meantime a sale was counted and money held. Weve had much better service from Home Depot in the past, but COVID or not, Communications plus Accurate Tracking should be - and are for many companies - key customer service components these days.
Being this is the only one in the area, seems that they have more to offer than in the past.
I ordered a couple of things which when I ordered them they had in stock and when I went to pick it up they said the items wouldnt be in for 4 days.
Shop there frequently, a wide range to choose from.

Like anybody probably even reads these things but anyway I just left home Depot in Erie Pennsylvania and was treated very rudely by an employee there I have a medical condition where I cannot wear a mask but this employee refused to wait on me because I didnt have one on they directed me to the self-checkout I asked them to please check me out because I do not work here and I dont use those things thats when she informed me if you were wearing a mask I would have came over and help you I reported her to the manager but lets see if anything gets done about it. I was there to pick up a $500 order for a customer. This has happened to me a couple other times and I am in contact with a lawyer that represents the American disabilities act if I see that employee there and she is not fired I am going to proceed with a lawsuit. I am sick of this discrimination and someone needs to set an example your managers also need to inform your employees they are not allowed to do that!
Went there for a pre paid pick up of a metal storage shed. Customer service was excellent in and out in no time even had the cashier offer to help load it.
Excellent customer service. I came in 15 minutes before closing looking for a snow blower. Not only did they stay after 9pm to assist me, they also helped load the blower into my SUV that was way too small for the blower. Great experience will definitely shop there again.

It’s a shame when you are at the store and the employees inside can’t be bothered but yet the employee handling the carts is more helpful. Maybe you need to contact a customer service trainer.
Somewhat Better Selection than Lowes. Having just wrapped up a fairly major renovation project that lasted over a year I spent a lot of time at both places. And I found that for most things, Home Depot offered more choices. This was especially true for tile. The prices were pretty similar. I think the store is generally well organized and the staff is fairly courteous and helpful. Returns are easy. Sales are often well marked too.
Its ok. Just a preference I like Lowes better.

I prefer home Depot over Lowes. Had some appliances delivered from them it was a nightmare.
I was trying to find help with a countertop and a guy told me to go on the back wall and look there. There were pallets in front of them and had to climb over it to see the samples. Then needed some assistance on a cutting board countertop, which was another joke. Finally found on my own what I was looking for and asked the guy at the register if he could help me load it on a cart so I could buy it. He just stared. Finally got checked out and neither guys at the register asked to help me load it in the car. An older gentleman customer saw me struggling and helped me load it. Very disappointed in the customer service today.
Every employee was able to point me in the right direction i needed to be in. Especially the short older gentlemen named Steve he helped out the most!

Okay, this review is solely for the outdoor garden and landscaping center. Not for the store proper.This isnt just a COVID-19 thing; Ive been here dozens of times and theres not a single employee who will ever offer to help you when you are trying to get any kind of landscaping blocks. Theres easily half a dozen wandering about staring at you whilst you struggle and no one ever offers to lend a hand. Once we specifically asked for help and then proceeded to watch the young man literally drop the blocks we ordered face-side down on the metal dolly while chips of cement shattered off the fascia. I cringed at the entire time and was almost tempted to forgo purchasing that order due to the considerable damage done to the face of the stone. On our latest trip we brought the retaining block that we had used last year and showed a picture of it to the employees at the entrance and were told by several that they did not have that stone. One woman even stated that not a single retaining block there had a single hole in the center of it like ours. So I took a little walk back and found our exact block right where it was last year. Their employees need to get more familiar with their inventory and they shouldnt be vehemently asserting they dont have something that they do have when it could cost them hundreds of dollars in sales. Again, no one offered to help, and we spent half an hour trying to get our cashier to ring us up because he couldnt find the the block in the system. Not he or any of the other half dozen employees offered to go to the back and look up the SKU number so we had to do that ourselves, too.Heres a recommendation to Home Depot: get the employees in the landscaping department some gloves so they can physically handle those blocks, and either retrain or hire some new ones that are actually willing to help a 75-year old lady and a young girl not an inch taller than 5 ft. load hundreds of pounds of retaining blocks into their vehicle after spending a small fortune at your store. Seriously, the customer service is so abysmal that Im tempted to finish our project in a completely different stone.

My father is 72 years old and he is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He usually gets a discount at other Home Depots in Butler and Pittsburgh. We went to the Erie Home Depot and he showed his license, which says he is a veteran. The cashier refused to give him a military discount because even though his license states hes a veteran, it didnt look like a picture she had up next to the register. I complained, said hes received a discount before, but she said Home Depot doesnt believe someone is a veteran unless they have a colorful ID with a flag. She would not call a manager, and we were in a hurry. We always go to Lowes first because they unconditionally give a veteran discount without question, but they did not have air conditioners. :-( super disappointed, veterans beware.
