I really appreciate Indio’s role in our shopping community. They have a good mix of pricing- there’s opportunity to splurge but you can also always find a great gift for a good price. Whenever I have a birthday or Christmas gift that’s stumping me, I’m able to find something wonderful at Indio!

Indio is one of our favorite Durham regular stops! We always find a great, usual gift for whoever is on our list. Cute pins, gorgeous jewelry, holiday items like embroidered stockings and more. Their cards are also fantastic. But maybe my most favorite part of Indio are the books! You wont find their selection of carefully chosen books anywhere else....and I frequent a LOT of bookstores and libraries. Theyre perfect for kids (_The Illustrated Compendium of Amazing Animal Facts_, anyone??) and adults alike. They will ship and wrap too! Wendy and Kate are just as wonderful as the items in the store. Indio is my new FAVE store!! Located in beautiful Brightleaf Square, Indio has something for everyone. All of the items are hand crafted and beautiful with an emphasis on American made. Wendy, the owner is an absolute delight and she is always willing to spend as much time with you to find just the right item or answer any questions that you may have about any of their products. Kate, the manager, is a jewel as well! INDIO speaks to people like nothing Ive ever seen. It has a clear POV and mission that includes its products and classes. I confess I did not know what a 2010s beautiful goods shop would look like, but through INDIO I found out and got in step with the times. The overused word curated -- -- curated well in this case -- is apt as is comfortable. The INDIO team is gracious and chill whether youre buying or browsing.
