I try to do as much work as I can myself, but every now and then, life happens. Ingolds has never balked when Ive brought my own filters and fluids, and for basic maintenance theyve been great - in full disclosure, Ive never brought the Jeep in with an issue that needed diagnostic work. Will be buying a new set of BFG KO2s from them next year!

I had high hopes after a friend recommended this shop but Im afraid I had a experience that did not match theirs.When I brought my car in they did not seem interested in asking any questions about what the issue was that I was hoping to solve. I figured hey, maybe they can solve it easier themselves than trying to get information from a customer. I received a call a couple hours later about a completely different issue that I had not mentioned, and when I inquired about my original issue they seemed to have done no real investigative work into that.They declined to service my car because the undercarriage was rusty (9 year old car from up north). I can understand not wanting to work with rust, but they couldnt even direct me to someone who would. On the whole, I wasted my time dropping off and picking up my car to be examined for what seems like no more than a few minutes by the staff. I am thankful they did not try to charge me for any service, but thats about all the positive I can say about my experience here.Overall I would say that what really troubled me is I brought in my car for an issue that could have significant safety implications. The staff here did not seem to care enough to evaluate it, and instead saw rust and ran the other way.

I remember telling the clerk what the dealership had told me needed to be done, and Ingold replied, Well Im not saying anything until I see it for myself. I knew then I had found a good mechanic. But now, over two years later, I know I have a GREAT mechanic. This is the only place to buy tires in the Triangle. Ingold has been around for 40 years and they offer the absolute best service and prices you’ll find anywhere. I’ve shopped all over town for tires and it was a waste of time because Ingold always came back with the best quality and prices, even much better than Costco, and it wasn’t close. Not to mention, the service is outstanding. This team is completely trustworthy and reliable. If Ron Ingold and co. sold groceries or electronics or clothing, I’d buy them from him too. He’s just that good. Quit looking and come to Ingold. You won’t regret it.

I came to Ingold for the first time for car maintenance today. I arrived there at 7:30 am and found several people were already there, so I suppose thats the top choice of many people around. The clerk at the service desk is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I was told by the dealer that I needed to do brake fluid change and transmission oil change and so forth. But the clerk at Ingold told me I neednt because of the very low mileage. Really appreciate his honesty. I did oil & filter change, tire rotations and balancing, state inspections and other service (they have a complete checklist including tire pressure, fluid inspections and so on, so dont worry). They promised I could have my car ready between 2 - 3 pm, and I was notified that it was done at 1 pm. Very reasonable price, no overcharge. Good to come back and see the clerk again, I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Tires are very reasonably priced. Customer service is great. They are always very busy, so if you are not there early before they open, plan on leaving your car, unless you have time to wait an hour or 2.

I had a near blow out on Friday afternoon and Bart and his team took one look and moved some things around so they could squeeze me in! Bart also was sure to explain everything and even rolled out my bum tire to show me where it all was going wrong! I called to get pricing on tires and spoke to Bill. He gave me the best price in town. He had them sent to the store and I came in the two days afterwards. I was promptly greeted. Friendly customer service agent at the counter. Wish I could think of his name. The waiting area is closed because of the coronavirus, but I knew that prior to going. I went home and waited. Car was finished in a few hours. Im a happy camper. Free tire rotations also. This is my second time purchasing tires from Ingold. I always have great experiences when I call or go in person.

I showed up without an appointment after noticing my tire pressure light was on. After thorough inspection Gus discovered I had a screw stuck in my back rear tire. I could see they were very busy but they accommodated me right away and fixed my tire on the spot. Very professional, courteous and reasonable. Highly recommended!

I went into Ingold absolutely sure I needed a new battery.Bart said they could find nothing wrong with my battery or electrical system and thought I may have left the dome light or some other light on accidentally. I am sure now that Bart is correct.Now you know there are a lot of shops that would have sold me a battery that I didnt need. They did not do this. I appreciate their honesty and candor.Plus they are genuinely friendly, approachable folks. I live just a couple blocks from the shop and feel very lucky to have such a great team of mechanics within walking distance.

This is the type of place thats been around 70 years and earned every positive review and returned customer. Theyre friendly, honest, straightforward and reasonably priced. Two years ago I bought new tires for my car and was pleased with my service. Recently, one tire started leaking and I came in to get it fixed on a morning where they had a lot of customers. They still got my service request processed quickly and were done an hour sooner than predicted. Thank you!

More than impressed and could not be more satisfied with my experience. I’m in the area for the week as my sister is receiving a lung transplant at Duke. I drove my Camry down from Maine and I was in serious need of new tires and oil before my return trip. I called Ingold as I found them on google and they had solid reviews and were near by. I was put in touch with Bart and I could not be happier. On top of a very fair price on tires Bart came across not only very professional but helpful above and beyond expectations. He was incredibly genuine and made me feel at ease with the whole process which was huge given the circumstances of my visit here. I was in and out in a timely manner and I was given a great explanation of the coverages etc and they even filled my rebate form, envelope and put a stamp on it. Highly recommend these guys!!!

I love this place. Ingolds is about honesty, reasonable prices, and exceptional customer service. They stay busy and dont take appointments, so it can be difficult to get in. Best to take your car in right when they open. Ask about their free shuttle if youre not able to wait around for them to finish working on your car.

I went there for a car maintenance package that included Lube, Oil & Filter Change, tire balancing rotation and alignement. I got a free ride to work which was great. The work was well done, I do recommend this place. You can check their website which has a lot of tips and useful explanations.

I brought my car in to have someone check an issue with my muffler. A gentlemen at the desk said unfortunately they werent equipped to do the type of work required, but recommended a mechanic who specializes in this.5 stars for recommending Bobs Radiator and Muffler in Durham, and 5 stars for Bobs. I will be coming back to Ingold in the future.

We first came here 10 years a go because something was wrong with our car and Ingold was 3 blocks away. We no longer live so close but after our first experience, we were hooked. The quality of customer service is outstanding, their prices are extremely competitive, theyre straight with you from beginning to end, and family owned, cant beat it!

We had a good experience here, a little pricey but they did fine work on my husbands corvette. Honest and forthright, which is probably more than you can ask for from most enterprises these days.

I came to get a second opinion on an estimate the Triple A gave me. They took a look, called me an hour later (Triple A took 4 hours to give me the estimate), and stated that half the items on the list from Triple A were not necessary. Plus the items that were necessary were a couple hundred dollars cheaper. Plus the guys are so friendly. I came here in the first place because the reviews were great, and I want to second that! Thanks guys.

During an oil change at Pep Boys, they did a courtesy check of other areas of my vehicle and told me that I needed new brakes and rotors for the front and back. They quoted me $1,100 to do the repairs. Of course I did not get that done that day! A few weeks later, I call Ingold and told them of the repairs I believe I needed and the initial quote over the phone was $610. Already a couple hundred dollars cheaper than Pep Boys! When I take my vehicle to Ingold, they tell me that my brakes & rotors in the rear were still in great shape and my rotors in the front were too as well. The only thing that needed to be repaired was the front brakes. After the repair, I only paid $170!!! Thank you Ingold for your honesty of what my vehicle really needed and the stellar customer service!

Honest, trustworthy and best prices around. Mechanics and sales/desk folks are all very personable and friendly. They consistently tell you exactly what is needed, no more. They are always very busy - which to me is a sign of a good mechanic! Go there, you wont be sorry.

I had a great experience at Ingold. I feel good about the price we paid for our 4 new tires, and when I remembered my broken tail light, they replaced that quickly for free. Our tires came with a rebate, and they filled out the paperwork and handed it to me in a stamped, addressed envelope to make it effortless to redeem. Friendly, high-quality service from a wonderful, local business.

I went to get my car inspected and it was packed and super busy (I could barely find a parking spot)... due to my schedule constraints they fit me in and it took less than an hour. Well what can I say I revisited this place a year later (after a bad experience with the front desk staff) and to my surprise, I was greeted with much respect . The customer service did a 360 turn around from before. They have a great very knowledgeable group of guys working . I can’t remember the guy name who worked on my truck but he made sure I was comfortable with the job (the bay door closet to the office) Thanks guys you have earned my business NOW!

I cant say enough about Bart and Ingold Tire! I live in Texas and my son goes to school at Duke...we struggled finding a car repair shop that we could trust in diagnosing the problem when we were so far away. Ingold was so ethical, friendly and trustworthy...they could have charged us a lot more since our car issue was rather tricky...but after a couple days in their shop and a lot of troubleshooting, they only charged us $75...I was so thankful to find a car repair place that we could totally rely on...they even worked around my sons school schedule and offered to drive him back to school...Best company Ive come across in a long time!!

They are fairly good people. Our company uses them as a commercial service shop. As a former auto mechanic who has worked in shops such as merchants, NTB, good year etc they are your run of the mill, hungry, trying to upsell a lot of stuff shop. It’s only to be expected since everyone at the shop is probably commission. They don’t seem to lie, or sell stuff completely unneeded, though. I do believe they are honest and have good intentions, though.

The people who work here are very professional and ethical. I came in after having a false diagnosis ($350) from another mechanic. The technician checked right away and told me the bumps were just low profile tires on a tight suspension. I needed to replace the tires on my car, and I often drive by Ingold Tire, so I decided to check them out. I called and got a quote, and then compared prices through a couple chains in the area. Initially, it looked like the chains with their price-matching were the better deal, but I decided to support a local business and committed to Ingold instead.By far, the customer service at Ingold is worth it. Once I arrived to drop off my car, they went out of their way to find a discount/rebate for me (which ended up beating all the other quotes) and were incredibly friendly and kind. Shortly after I left, they even gave me a follow-up call because I had left my travel coffee mug behind. When I picked it up a couple days later, they remembered me and asked some questions to see how the new tires were working out.I dont think I couldve had a much better experience. I will definitely be back.

Today is good day; today, I became a customer at Ingold Tire. I spoke with three or four employees and the owner in the past 24 hours after realizing I had a more-difficult-than-average tire conundrum.They had a perfect opportunity to oversell me on a set of four Yokohama tires at $220 apiece. I was amenable if depressed about my wallet. After ordering the tires, Joe (I believe it was) did something I didnt expect. He went above and beyond to research a more affordable option. He called me back not only to offer me the same exact size tire with negligibly differing tread for my AWD Subaru. He backed up his advice with cogent logic and his explanations did not contain drop of condescension.The ultimate test with every mechanic is when I report my willfully independent car repair endeavors to my dad, who is a retired police officer, lifelong car and motorcycle nut, and OCD SoCal Hot Rodder. Sometimes he shakes his head at me. But when I repeated what the guys at Ingold said to me, my dad was impressed. He said those are some good people. I concur.Beyond the phone calls, walking into the shop this morning was a feel-good experience. Photos of the employees line the walls . Its unpretentious to the point of being cozy. I was standing in line behind the a Superior Court judge, who is clearly a long-time customer. If a *judges* capacity for judgment in making everyday decisions about where to get his tires repaired isnt enough to impress you, I dont know what is! When I got to the counter, Mr. Ingolds demeanor gave me the uncanny feeling that I was talking to one of my dads childhood friends.So if I had to pick just one value that comes through at Ingold, it would be family: First, you can see in even the smallest interactions how the staff and owner treat each other with the same ease and respect of a healthy family. I would bet money they are all well-taken care of. Second, I felt like they treated me-- a complete stranger and first time customer with some demanding requests-- as family.They were backed up today but managed to come in 2 hours under their estimate even with alignment, which means I can get to my dogs appointment at NCSU without being in a rush. Im already in love with my new tires. My ride feels a little softer, and my car is easier and more fun to drive.Speaking of dogs: I cant leave out that dog people--and senior dog lovers-- are the best and most trustworthy kind of people (sorry, cat people; its true). Mr. Ingold, a former student-athlete and Duke alum, invited me to bring my dog next time I come in for a FREE balance and rotation (which, btw, I get for the life of my nicely-warrantied tires). And I cant wait to see pics of his dog!

Theres great service here. They go above and beyond. Once a minor mistake led to costly damage to my car and they stepped up and made it right. There was no squirrelling around, I just explained the situation and they fixed it. I go here every time I need a car repair or an oil change because I know they have integrity and wont take me for a ride just because I dont know much about cars. Its a great shop.

However, Ive had a few issues recently including a tire change where they left the lug nuts on my rear left tire COMPLETELY loose. They were extremely professional about fixing it but it still is concerning that it happened.

Ingold is the greatest!!! I had a 2004 nissan altima. No one could get this car to run like it should. My check engine light would not go off, and sometimes it sounded like it was falling apart. I took it to Ingold and no more problems. I was so happy to have my car running right, I actually cried!! They are really busy, and thats because people know how GOOD they are. I no longer have the nissan. However, it was still running ok when I traded it. Even Though, I have a 2016 now, I took it to them to make sure it was doing ok. So if you want the best, go to Ingold!!! Very professional n A GREAT GROUP OF GUYS!!! Good customer service!!!!!
