First, if you dont like or cannot climb stairs, this is not the place for you. After walking uphill past several French Glass Doors, I had to walk up ~6-7 steps inside the front doors to get to hotel desk and then go down a very long hallway with at least four separate sets of stairs with 6 steps down each☹ to get to the dining room. On the Plus, I scored a window booth and had good French Toast.Sadly, thats where the good ends! I also ordered the Salmon Avocado Salad, which came out with an incredibly nauseating odor!😟 I seriously almost lost my French Toast! I had to move the salad to the other end of my table and hope theyd come back quickly to remove it (they didnt)! **There was NO apology for serving such a bad piece of fish that could have sent me to the hospital with food poisoning! I would never serve this to anyone, I smelled it as soon as it was brought out! 😟At MY Request, the server took it off my bill, yet still charged me the tax on this item!☹ Had I not brought it to his attention, I would have paid over 25% tax on my breakfast!I waited a couple of days before posting this so I might address it with management first. Unfortunately, they dont have a manager for at least 3 months Im told! I tried calling several times today and thats what I was told. Seems lack of management is the cause of the problems with the food as well as having way too many staff standing around talking with each other, many come and go to your table, but only one is the actual Server who can address your order and assist you with paying your tab!All in all, I cant recommend this place and will not be going back.
The Peacock Room is elegant and has the ambiance of fine dining. However, the food and service are mediocre, at best. As most restaurants are experiencing, wait staff is thin due to Covid fall-out and we understand that. However, there was an exceptionally long time between ordering our drinks, ordering our food and getting each course. For example, we waited 40minutes to get our entree after our salads were served. Way too long. The lamb shank was good, but the steak was over cooked and the salmon was dry. Food was disappointing as this was not our first time here and we expected more. We are giving the Peacock Room a 3 star review as we have had much better meals and service here in the past, but our recent experience deserves only a 2 star. 4 people, before dinner cocktails, no dessert - $260.00 total. Unfortunately, we feel we did not get our monies worth this time.
A beautiful and historic place, the Hassayampa Inn has been providing style and taste since 1927. It has a timeless charm about it. The restaurant underwent a renovation in 2014. My husband and I enjoyed a delightful dinner in the Peacock Room with his oldest brother and wife. They were celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary and invited us to join them. We started with two Shrimp Cocktails and 5 jumbo shrimp was was served with slices of avocado and crackers...superb!😋. My husband and his brother both ordered the 8 oz Slow Roasted Prime Rib (offered only on Friday and Saturday nights) which came with a crisp Caesar Salad, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. When their food came, they were amazed at how much prime rib there was, definitely more than 8 ozs! Our sister-in-law ordered the Rainbow Trout which is cast iron fried whole boneless trout breaded in blue corn flour and served with roasted shallot papaya cream, brown rice and seasonal vegetables. She adores this dish and has ordered it other times before. I opted for the Atlantic Salmon which is pan-seared cold water salmon topped with lemon butter sauce and served with Cranberry Pinon Quinoa and seasonal vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection and superb. All entrees are served with a fresh multi-grain baguette and their signature dipping sauce (divine!). We ordered two desserts, my brother and sister-in-law chose the Classic Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee with toasted vanilla cream custard made with real Madagascar vanilla. My husband and I decided on the Bread Pudding made with French toast bread, brandied raisins topped with a buttery whiskey sauce and served al la mode with a large strawberry on top. Our taste buds were doing a happy happy dance 😋😜😋 Their service was good overall with the manager stopping by to chat with us about our meals. It was our first time there and a great experience❣️. We will definitely go back to try other entrees 👍👍👍👍
Eaten here 4 times. 3 dinners and 1 breakfast. The breakfast was awesome. Steak and eggs - everything was great. The first dinner was awesome! Prime rib was excellent. The last two times I have been also for the prime rib (we are on Prescott on Fridays a lot) the experience has been not so good. Reservations not being met, a night where the dishwasher called out so there were no steak knives and we were asked to cut the prime rib with a typical table knife, and then another time where the New York Strips were so tough and full of tendons even at rare to med rare it was difficult to cut.The staff is friendly and helpful as the can be, but there are some big kitchen and organization problems to be fixed.
We were there for brunch and found the food and service exceeded our expectations by a healthy margin. The decor is art deco and they even had time period music playing to further enhance the mood. Service was attentive and friendly. My wifes lemon soufflé pancakes melted in her mouth and were the best pancakes she has had for a very long time. My shrimp and avocado wrap was great and the coleslaw side was exceptional. We will return the next time we are in Prescott.
We had called ahead to advise we were celebrating a wedding anniversary, so that may be why we had such a prime spot in a booth by the front window. The service and the food were excellent, marred only by a large pesky, persistent fly that had decided to join us! The live music in the other room made it possible to have a pleasant conversation without shouting. It was a pleasant time overall.
Our party had 4 different dishes. All were excellent, as were the mussels appetizer, and the desserts. The service was outstanding. Not a cheap meal, but well worth the money.
Out server Dominick was very cordial and went out of his way to help us transition from dinner to the bar by helping us get set up with our bottle of wine, and bringing a couple of additional chairs to our table. Out hostess, I think her name might have been Claire was very cordial, polite and helpful. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed the old hotel ambiance.
Love love love this place 😍 Happy hour was delicious. The service (bartender and server) were exceptional as was the ambiance. Live music (one man band). This is truly a hidden (in plain sight) gem. Been coming to Prescott for 36 yra and never knew about this. It is a gorgeous historic bar/restaurant apparently popular w/the locals. When we were there a couple sitting near us was celebrating their 52nd anniversary. They greeted another couple (as old friends) coming in to celebrate a birthday 😊 I cant wait to visit again and try dinner this time 😋
Food was excellent and portions are good. Service a little lacking considering the price paid should include pampering.
Consistently great food in one of Prescott’s most beloved hotels. You can sit inside or outside on the terrace. My favorite spot is the “highly underrated” terrace where you can almost always score a table perfect for people watching. Just let the wait staff know your there. My top picks are the lemon soufflé pancakes (not pictured) and southwest burrito.
Great food. Service was ok, seemed short staffed. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, part of a historic hotel.
My husband and I stayed at the Hassayampa Inn from May 7- 10 and ate several meals at the Peacock Room. We saw Kevin every time we were there....it didnt matter if we were there for breakfast or for dinner. Kevin deserves a big SHOUT OUT as his customer service is outstanding! Whether greeting customers or interacting with his co-workers he was helpful, kind, attentive, and was always smiling. His joy for life and what he was doing was contagious and admired. If only we could all be this consistently kind and joyful!
Nice music by Rick Curzo. Nice wings, beer and potatoes skins. Husband enjoyed the house wine as well.
If you’re a fan of steak and eggs for breakfast, this is your spot! Great portion, Top sirloin cut,
Made a reservation that ended up being lost. Waited 35 minutes for a table, sat at table and ignored for 20 minutes, ordered food and notified of allergen... food came with allergen. Menu advertised local honey and we got smucker packets. Brie was not cooked and pastry puff was undercooked. Never was checked on. Food was compensated but damn... was really expecting something else.
Went there on our anniversary. THE best. Mussels so good and tender we ordered seconds. Sea bass for me, orange roughy for my husband. Perfectly prepared, perfectly presented, and thoroughly enjoyed. The service and friendliness a bonus to a wonderful evening.
A small menu with excellent food. Also a nice bar menu.
The food & service is excellent! Our server Marie went over & beyond. Great customer service.
The food is classy, tasty and presented well. Unlike most restaurants that serve dishes of culinary fine art, you also arent likely to eat your dinner, then go home and eat again. They fill you up. The ambience is elegant and tasteful, and every server Ive encountered is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I dont live in the Prescott area anymore, but I often make it a point to eat at the Peacock Room when I visit. Its an ideal dinner date too, if you want to create a memorable experience with someone.
Great food for a great price in a historic building! Who could ask for morr?!
Enjoyed an excellent dinner here the service was absolutely wonderful and the as well
We took our daughters here for a breakfast brunch. The food was amazing. I just had pancakes with eggs and bacon and it was great. Probably the best bacon Ive had.My daughter ordered an omelette and it was fabulous. One of the best shes had. And the pecan coffee cake was excellent.I highly recommend this place.
Great drinks, wine and dinner with friends! This is a wonderful place and the staff takes very good care to make it a wonderful dinning experience.
Good food and service. Prices were good too.
We had a slow start to the evening, then Matthew the bartender took charge and turned the evening into a fantastic experience! Great appetizers, delicious dinner and the drinks were unique and quenching!
Went to hear the live music and a bite to eat. Very nice, restored 1927 hotel. Good service. Food OK.
I had the Monti Cristo sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries which I ate only half. Service was wonderful and decor beautiful!
Our meal was so delicious but our service was even better. Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere as we celebratrated our wedding anniversary.
Friendly service, beautiful building and interior. Comfortable atmosphere
Food was excellent. I had the trout, my fiance the caesar with salmon. But the best part of our celebratory evening was our server, Sarah! Thank you Sarah, well be back very soon!
Great food great staff
Ive lived in Prescott for 3 years and never even thought to eat here. Man am I beating myself up for that, I finally decided to give it a shot, and WOW. Incredible ambiance, on par with the fine dining restaurants one can expect in Beverly Hills, Carmel By The Sea, and so on. The service was spectacular, the slower pace was appreciated. The menu is fairly small, but very well done. I had a Filet which was cooked to a 100% perfect medium rare, and to finish, the most delicious and well-prepared Vanilla Creme Brulee Ive ever had, bar none. Its expensive (by Prescott standards, this restaurant is definitely NOT for the couponing retiree crowd)- but with the few truly wonderful dining options in Prescott, you have to appreciate a truly NICE place to eat, such as the Peacock room. Glad to have a new restaurant I can go to for consistent excellent quality and service.
Worst service ever. Long waits for beverages and food. Totally screwed up orders and even longer ways to correct. Absentee server. Had to make several requests for complete dinner orders and wine bottles. We were a group of 12 adults who have never experienced worst service. Food was good but didnt make up for the hour plus it took for dinner to be served and incorrect and incomplete on top of it. Manager never came out and their restitution was to discount the coffee.
Great historic property. Excellent food and superb service.
Staff was very friendly. The food was delicious, and priced very reasonably for the quality.
Any time we have the opportunity to hear Darin Mahoney its a good evening.
Delicious with excellent service.
Beautifully prepared food at reasonable prices and fantastic service located in one of Prescott az historic hotels
Very relaxing environment. Medium size dining area with white table cloths and nice decor. The food is superb! Try the Eggs Benedict for exampleWhen we want a special treat this is where we go.
Nice ambiance. Better when they have the buffet. Went for Christmas. Disappointed
Fantastic! Grilled pear salad, beef tips, and stuffed poblano were fantastic. Great service and excellent experience
Polite service, live music, food is always spot on, fancy without the high price tag
Delicious food and large portions. Rudy and the young lady, Kristen? (blonde with plugs), were very cordial. Being there for my birthday and our anniversary, we were taken care of well. My only reason for not a 5 star is the condition of the silverware and glasses, need to be polished or the machine needs deliming. OCD from years of restaurant work Im afraid.
Great lunch with 2 girlfriends Carroll a new B to Prescott and Betty
We order a couple of sales and they were absolutely delicious! I had the peacock salad with chicken. It was a big salad served with warm chicken strip and raspberry vinaigrette. Very tasty and filling. We also had the ahi tuna salad. It was best tuna I’ve Ever had!! Great service and enjoyed the historical hotel ambiance.
Service was excellent as others have stated. Fantastic people working there! Drinks were made well, the eggs Benedict Hollandaise sauce wasnt as good as expected.
Stayed at the Inn for a couple nights and had one dinner and one breakfast (brunch) in the Peacock Room. For dinner we had the Rainbow Trout and the Australian Lamb Shank. Portions were acceptable and filling without stuffing ourselves. Both the trout and lamb were cooked well and tasty, but nothing spectacular. The sides were about the same, good but nothing special, with the exception of the roasted garlic polenta that came with the lamb. It was pretty tasty. The wine selection is not large, but the prices were affordable. Go with a bottle and save a few bucks. Breakfast was breakfast. I ordered the Southwest Burrito and it was more tortilla (which is not unusual) and cheese. There was enough asadero cheese inside the burro for two burros. And the fact that it tasted and had the consistency of mozzarella didnt help. It was also pretty spicy so stay away from it if any of that turns you off. Service for dinner was 4 star. Brunch was 3.5 star.
Great service, food and atmosphere.what more could you hope for?
Great service. Good drinks.
Service is excellent and food is very good, and alot of it. Atmosphere is wonderful.
Food was good. Service was terrible.
Enjoyed our wedding anniversary dinner there just now. Service was excellent and very attentive. All the courses were good, including the rainbow trout and the vegetarian options. The house/wedge salad was amazing! One of the best salads we ever had! And it was only $3! (Served on a small plate but great nonetheless.)Very historical ambiance. Easily got a booth on an early Wednesday evening, and it was like stepping back in time almost 100 years ago.
Another not well known gem in Prescott. Excellent food, great service, reasonable prices.
Love this place!Food was good, service was good, wonderful atmosphere will definitely be back again.
This place is amazing
A quaint historical setting with fantastic food the chef that is working the proteins is spot-on the New York strip steaks were done to perfection as was the Wellington the side dishes were excellent as well. Not to mention they have several outstanding wines on their wine list. If you have a special occasion or just want to get out for a really nice dinner I would highly recommend the Peacock Room at the Hassayampa Inn
Beautifully restored period hotel with limited service in the lobby. Wait staff in the bar needs more hospitality training. Not a high end dining experience, but the menu and wine selection was good. Front desk was very accommodating. Dont order tea.
Best place in Prescott for brunch
Very good Food.
Good food a little pricey
Thanksgiving Brunch did not live up to our expectations. Staff was great including servers and buffet staff, I would rate them 5 stars. I did have to ask and then wait for mashed potatoes, stuffing and turkey as they ran out around 3pm. Food was not exceptional. This was our 3rd Thanksgiving there. Very sorry to have to write this review.
This is a great place to stop in for a drink. Its quiet, quaint, and quite cute. Now say that three times fast!I actually just enjoy the vibe in this place. Its an old historic building that meticulously maintained. Its not hard to imagine it being a packed house with travelers and locals way bank when Prescott was the capital of Arizona. The bartender Huck is pretty cool as well. Service is good, food is excellent, and the happy hour bites arent too bad. Give it a shot.
The Peacock room provides a comfortable atmosphere with excellent fresh food and excellent service. The menu offers many great options as well as delicious fish and vegetarian dishes. The cook will make vegan and gluten free entrees by request as well. This is a top notch restaurant.
Enjoyed the peacock room. Lovely Christmas decor. Service is great and food is delicious. We always enjoy our selves here. My wife ordered planned fry trout with over medium eggs and toast. I had corn beef hash with over medium eggs and toast. Our friends shared the pastrami sandwich with sauerkraut and fries.
It is one of our favorite, up scale, restaurants for special occasions. Good and most of the time good wait staff. Great today Feb 2020 with guests from Chicago.
This has been one of the most relaxing breakfast. The service was wonderful. Our server was a nice young man who was so polite and attentive. We really enjoyed our food.
I got the huevos rancheros and everything was extremely overcooked. My poached eggs were hard and dry, but chorizo was very dry, and the torta a that it was on was crispy falling apart (which would not have been bad if my eggs are runny and the chorizo was a bit more juiciness). The flavor was just not very good, kind of just bland. The service was good and she took care of my meal because of it. But I was disappointed in the food, I thought it was going to be much better. The price point was fine. My daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes and it came out with a pile of chocolate chips on top. Then discovered there was chocolate chips inside the pancake as well. As much as a child probably loves that, the parent does not want a child having that much chocolate in the morning. They could have gone with a few sprinkled chocolate chips on top.
Great meal, atmosphere and service.
Whats not to like, about the Peacock Room, at Prescotts historic Hassayampa Inn? Really, nothing. Their meal-sized salads are represent a good effort. I was pleasantly surprised to see a vegetarian entree on their dinner menu and found it to be a creative and delicious dish. The service is always great. Really, 5 stars for that. The prices can be a little higher than I think is merited, at the dinner hour, for what youre getting. But the whole experience of dining at the Peacock Room ought to be enjoyed by anyone who is interested in visiting this historic hotel. Good fish dishes are usually on the menu and the meat dishes have never failed to satisfy members of my party. At the end of the meal, the coffee is great and they usually have some really nice desserts.
Total gourmet, with prices to match. Exquisite preparations and presentations. THE place for Anniversary dinner. Hotel is one of a kind, and a must see. Update for 26 Sep 17: wonderful lunch. Always 5 stars.
Very good Xmas Buffet. Had a 15 minute wait with reservations. Kind of pricey and lots of steps involved.
Breakfast. Great service on my visit.
Great experience! Quiet Wednesday evening, with pleasant friendly guests and great service (sorry I forgot her name). The Chicken Alfredo was a lot to finish but powerful flavor. The live music was a little loud in the bar area but talking was still audible without screaming (just sit in the dinning room if needed). Pricey but expected.
I really enjoyed the place. It is a beautiful setting, the food was great and the service was excellent.I had the roasted chili poblano - terrific. The accompanying kale and balsamic reduction were very tasty. I passed completely on the fingerling potatoes - I often pass on potatoes. It really was a great vegan meal.I was going to pass on the dessert, too. I almost always ask for the dessert menu and then dont order any. I did indulge in the berry tart though. It is a nice size - not too big, not too small - and delcious.Im planning 93rd birthday party next month for my dad - this is top of the list. Several vegan entrees, beautiful historic setting, good service, take reservations, prices are reasonable considering everything ... Unfortunately, probably wont be going here. We have to have bathroom on same floor as dining. Gonna check, but probably out for the big birthday. Ill return some other time. Highly recommended!
Food was amazing, seriously extremely tasty and well plated. We went on a Monday evening, and it wasnt very busy, the waiter was nice and helpful. We got the cheese and fruit appetizer which was very colorful and artistic, and also very good. 3 very nice cheeses, fresh grapes and strawberrys, well seasoned nuts, and some assorted dried fruits as well (dried kiwi is very good). My wife got the surf and turf, the lobster was cooked very well, her steak was med rare like we requested.I got the 8oz filet mignon, with garlic mashed potatoes and the chefs veggies. My steak was also cooked med rare perfectly, and it was hands down the best cut of filet mignon Ive ever had in my life.Well worth the 5 stars, and we will be going back perhaps for our very next date night. Highly recommend!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Prescott. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is classy and the staff is always courteous, knowledgeable and on their game. Perfect place for a dinner date.
Excellent service and food.
My husband and I chose to have our small wedding reception dinner at The Peacock Dining Room last Friday. We couldn’t have picked a better restaurant! During the planning process, I called the restaurant several times to ask questions & to get info. Vanessa & Kevin were friendly and helpful when I called. (We live in PHX, so it was a little more challenging to plan our wedding festivities.) We drove up to Prescott to see the restaurant a couple weeks before our wedding. Brianna was kind & helpful and showed us the semi-private room we would be dining in. A week before the wedding, we met with Vanessa (the manager) and she explained everything in detail. The day before the wedding, we stopped in to drop off our cake and Vanessa was there to help us. She let us choose the color of linens & napkins for our reception and asked for our input on how the room should be arranged. She was flexible and understanding. She even offered to buy us flowers for the table & said we could reimburse her later which was nice. However, we decided to use our bouquets from the ceremony. On our wedding day, my husband dropped off some more items for our reception and Kevin offered to help him unload the car.The reception dinner was wonderful. Brianna was our lead server and she was excellent. She was so nice, easy-going & attentive. We never felt like we were being rushed, even though we were there for a while.I had the house salad (iceberg wedge) which was delicious but a little hard for me to eat. I also ordered the Atlantic salmon and it was fantastic. I let our servers know that I have a dairy & egg allergy & the chef was able to modify the entree for me. My husband ordered the grilled chicken Alfredo and he loved it. All of our guests seemed very happy with their entrees. The prices were reasonable and the portion size was generous. We had a special “guestbook” that we wanted to surprise my parents with. My husband asked the staff to bring it out at a specific time, and Brianna did just that. It was a perfect & memorable moment for my family. The staff was very careful with handling our wedding cake and cupcakes. Both were displayed beautifully. We especially enjoyed our apple cider toast. An employee named Brian filmed the toast for us which was awesome. He also helped us carry stuff out to the car after dinner. The only (small) issue we had was with the music. It was a bit hard to hear each other at times that night. There was a live folk band playing in the bar. During the planning process, we were told that if the band got too loud, we could let our servers know. We ended up telling the servers that the music was a bit too loud. The band did seem to get a little quieter initially. There was a mesh partition separating our room from the bar & I think a solid partition would help more with the sound. On a positive note, we loved the background music that played during the band’s breaks. It was perfect for the occasion. We asked Kevin if we could leave our cake in their freezer for a couple days because we couldn’t store it at our hotel. He said it was no problem. When we picked up the cake, he offered to re-box it so that it would fit into our cooler. He was super helpful and he said he was glad we had such a great time there.I would highly recommend The Peacock Dining Room. We can’t wait to go back! If you are looking for a wedding reception venue in Prescott, check out this restaurant! We loved the 1927 room. Our party was only 12 guests, but the room can definitely hold more people. The staff and atmosphere are amazing.
Terrific food and wonderful 20s art deco decor. Feels like we went back in time.
The wedge salad is my favorite. I often go in just for the salad and a dessert. Dont rush in as the service takes time but sit back and enjoy your stay. Small and cozy dinning area with great atmosphere. Grab a booth if you can.
I only gave this a partial review initially because we just walked thru it. But we did go to dinner there later and it was wonderful. Fabulous food and service. And wonderful historic atmosphere.
The eggs benedict made both of us very sick. Otherwise its a nice setting.
Dissappointed with Easter buffet, no ham, no lamb chops, dessert area lacking. Overall not as good as previous visits. Service by staff Excellent as always.
Nice, quiet place. Our server, Rudy was great. The meat was tender n delicious...lovely evening.
