The store has been a Detroit institution since 1893. What’s amazing is they have maintained that high level of service and products all along.The Eastern Market store is charming with ample space. The selection of products is wide ranging. They offer flat caps, fedoras, Panama style hats, Kangol, even silk top hats and much more.The staff, who help make the business, are knowledgeable, available and engaging. They balance the right amount of assistance while letting you consider on your own. I found two great hats. If you spend over $100 you get a hat box too.Well worth the trip to Henry Hatters, a Detroit hat icon.

Well I must say that I hated that the oringal site closed, but I couldnt be happier with the new site, its fits!( not that I had a say anywayz) They brought the feel right along with them, the decor fits, its fresher, its much roomier, its newer, its the same great staff and the same great covers. Great place. I enjoyed my visit there. Very informative for me. They know hats. Large selection of the worlds best brands. Cool, classy place. Lots of great establishments right next door or near. So much to do in this vibrant area. Eastern Market, Tigers, Lions, Redwings games...concerts at Ford Field, 3 different casinos...Henrys should open a retail space at one or all of the casinos...and or Tiger Stadium. Cobo Hall is near too and about 3 breweries, and 200 great restaurants. You shouldnt miss Henrys while in town celebrating the good things in life.

The place had a ton of charm . They were very professional and not afraid to be honest when something dude fit or look right. I told them what I wanted and he picked 2 out right away. I tried 30 or so but went back to what they picked out.

The best & highest quality selection of hats, and a true gem within Eastern Market in Detroit. Jerrell turned an older hat which was not properly stored (out of box, dusty, etc.) into looking brand new within a few minutes. Katey eased the decision marking process of a new hat and provided an A+ customer experience. Both deserve recognition for their attentiveness & knowledge!

One of the last habadasheries left, and one of the oldest. Outstanding selection of hats. Everything from inexpensive bill caps to fine wool fedoras and everything in between. Also offer cleaning and blocking and repair. Highly recommended.

What great service. A step back in time when it comes to attention and detail. I purchased my first Stenson Temple Fedora, and love it. They took the time to explain the difference in shape, height and pleat. I will most definitely be visiting here again. My wife would like a hat of her own. Not only did I find my fedora here, I found a relatively inexpensive hiking/outdoor hat as I was about to walk out the door! Very happy!

My cousin from South Carolina comes to Detroit every year and his first stop is to Henry the Hatter. They take great care of him. My cousin loves to brag were his hats come from.

Use to sometimes shop at the Hamtramck location. I have several hats, plus straw hats from them. Was sad when they closed up the Hamtramck location.

Great place and customer service. Im not an expert in hats but they have many high end hats. Bought a stetson hat for my wedding they custom fit it and custom bent the rim like a fadora. Im sure you could go somewhere cheaper (online) but this place is worth the money. Worth every dollar to have such great service. I like to spend my money at local places.

Throughout its legacy of serving some of the greats, Coleman A Young, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robbinson & countless others its maintained a deep since of pride in servicing all its customers. Even though its moved feom its previous location, Downtown Detroit to its current location in the Eastern Mrkt I still view them as a Landmark. For any man who still believes that a stylish hat compliments his mans wardrobe, this is the place to go.
