I was in a rollover car accident where I sustained major head lacerations, a partially torn ear and a partially amputated finger. The receptionist was EXTREMELY rude on the phone with my sister and in person when we were able to go pay the OUTRAGEOUS fees. They charge a ridiculous storage fee just to have it sit in a lot. All of the windows of my car were broken and these past few days it has been extremely rainy yet they could not be bothered to cover the car at all or remove the purse that could clearly be seen. They also charged a ridiculous cleanup fee onsite even though I had a family member there prepared to clean it herself and they even told me (after 3 days of rain) that items were most likely left at the sight of the accident and I should go there and look for myself. Whats the point of the storage and cleanup fees then?!?!? There is a need for new policies to be implemented to prevent things like this but until it is fixed i would NEVER recommend using their services.

The receptionist was extremely rude. They would not let us ask questions. We had to pay in cash which is extremely inconvenient. It was expensive. A horrible experience with extremely unhelpful staff.

Very unprofessional business. Whoever is working at the reception desk is condescending, rude, and unprofessional towards customers. She was very combative on the phone. After giving my boyfriend the information about picking the car up and he tried to end the call she proceeded to say verbatim “actually I’m not done yet” and started fighting with my boyfriend for no reason and harassing him. This person needs to be fired because that’s not how you talk to people, especially in a customer service position.. she also insisted we pay in cash, when on the website it clearly states cards are accepted. We broke down on I-88 in Dekalb while on our way home from an out-of-town trip. Acura Roadside Assistance and AAA were absolutely worthless. The toll road authority met us while AAA was taking 30 minutes to pinpoint our location with a snowstorm approaching. They hooked us up with Lovett’s, who got us off the road very quickly and took us to a hotel, which AAA would not do (AAA was going to leave us stranded on the highway to work out transportation arrangements).The key that made them fantastic during an otherwise disastrous trip was 1) speed, 2) professionalism, and 3) one stop for towing and repairs. Once they reopened on Monday, they had our car repairs done before lunch. They were also patient with us while we were in shock and fumbling around figuring out what to do. Other car shops might have gotten annoyed with us. They didn’t. (We were having many other problems than the car.....everything that could go wrong did.)They called us giving us a clearly detailed breakdown of the cost and obtained our authorization before continuing work.I needed an alternator for an Acura TL. The repair and tow came to $790 of which $150 was the tow. It could have been a little high, but the speed of service was worth it. We also weren’t in much of a position to bargain

My semi broke down on hwy 88 in Rochelle IL, I was in a loaded sleeper cab semi, john at lovetts came down with a heavy hooked me up in no time, even dropped my trailer off at where it needed to go so I didnt lose anytime at all... I highly recommend this awesome tow company honestly couldnt of asked for a better experience out of a tow company 10/10

Have had them assist with towing vehicles that have broke down. Always professional and timely. I have in the last 6 months had 3 of my 4 vehicle have body work done. Exceptional job. They fought with my insurance to insure I had a complete fix with quality products.

In 2001 I brought my car in to be repaired. They literally took weeks to repair it because the mechanic decided to go on vacation and nobody bothered to inform me about until I called their days later. He finally fixed it after his lengthy vacation but I was without a car for a long time and it really cost me to get around without one. Then when I came in to pay the fat woman who was the co-owner of the shop was rude to me. I told her that I should get a discount for all the money I had to spend to get around town because of them pulling that on me and she yelled at me and threatened to charge me for storage if I didnt pay up immediately. I will never get a car repaired there again!

The customer service here should go down in history as one of the WORST. Lovetts clearly takes advantage of being one of the only towing services in town and treats people horribly. These kinds of businesses ruin a community. No, towing isnt a glamorous business but doesnt mean you have to disrespect people. I went in with a friend who had his vehicle towed and couldnt believe how horribly rude these people were on top of watching a yard worker damage a vehicle from carelessness. After me and this woman get off a phone because she was telling me incorrect information about my situation and immediately getting defensive....she calls me back and says “are you ready to speak nice to me because I’m not gonna do this with you if you don’t” and continued to push her points while completely ignoring my comments and concerns while offering no solutions. She basically called me to fight with me about the situation AGAIN. Condescending from the start. When I went to pay for my cars release she continued to argue with me and seemed upset I even came in after our phone altercation. Even her coworkers called her a b**** as I left the establishment. I am so impressed with this company! I had to have my car towed and then repaired. I was nervous because of the bad reviews, but Jason did an amazing job with a tricky repair (they dont make Suzuki parts anymore). He was also very patient and kind to me. I thought the price was fair, too!

From the phone call until we picked up our vehicle, the staff was kind and helpful! Having your car towed is almost never under good circumstances but they made the experience a little less stressful. It was refreshing to be treated as a customer and not just another claim number. Thank you!

If I could give this place a zero star review I would!! They charged me $170 to tow my car literally two blocks. The car was there for like a day and they charged over $300 for storage fee and even more to get it back. The customer service is BEYOND terrible. The lady I spoke to on the phone was so rude and gave nothing but attitude. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. Please do not tow your car here unless you wanna be scammed and have a ton of money to just get your car back. I would rather push my car somewhere then use this place. I will never use this place again!

Dont let the other reviews that have been written cloud your judgement about this place. Its a tow company. Everybody is salty when their car gets towed or impounded, and of course it hurts to pay fees for those things. These guys were incredibly awesome after our sisters car accident, despite some of her jerky friends calling and demanding access to her car. We cant thank them enough for their kindness and compassion. If you treat people with basic decency, the same courtesy will be returned to you. Remember, its a business, not UNICEF. They dont call and let u know when they dont have a part when they have ur vehicle all weekend and it was supposed to be done on Friday they take your vehicle other places to be fixed without your knowledge claiming they did it and charge u more then what the place charged them they give these places permission to work on you vehicle without calling you and letting you know and they lie to you

If I could give them 0 starts I would. The price I had to pay for a tow was not anywhere close to what they told me it would be. Also, my car was just pulled over on the side of the road but the tow truck driver decided he needed to winch it out, which was a huge extra fee, he literally had no reason to winch it out. It was on the side of the road, with no driving issues. Also, the person on the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. Not to mention they’re way more expensive than anyone else. My boyfriend locked himself out of his Jeep last night right before his Final, so he took my car and I hurried to find someone who could unlock his car (it was running!). Lovetts had someone out to me in half an hour. He was very nice and quoted me a fair price.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! This company are the most ignorant rude money hungry thieves you will ever meet. They towed my car 5 miles and stored my car for 48 hours and charge $370 bucks. They continued to jack us around on pick times and then charged additional fees to come in on non-business hours to get our car. These people prey on others peoples misfortunes for their personal gain! The other thing is they wanted cash and refused to other forms of payment. Maybe there needs to be an IRS investigation on this shady business practices.

Worst customer service. Ask any successful business and that is key. The lady on the phones needs to learn good customer service. Its her job to answer questions not just demand money from the customer.

My daughters car was towed by this company, the staff is beyond rude for absolutely no reason. I called them to find out the cost and was treated like garbage and talked to like I was trash. I asked multiple times why she was being so rude and she only got angrier and handed the phone to someone who was worse than she was . Customer service is your business . Just because you tow someone’s car does not give you the right to belittle them and be unkind. This place needs to be shut down. Just experienced 2 guys with hoodies and flashlights searching every car in the parking lot for something they wanted. We called lovitts towing and sure enough they told us they sents people out searching peoples cars. Asked them who they were and they ignorantly ignored us and kept searching peoples cars. I hit a snow drift this morning and went straight into the ditch. I called the nearest towing service - Lovetts Towing & Recovery. I was obviously very shaken. The woman on the phone was very kind, and let me know that someone would be out to help me shortly. Someone (Kyle, I think) was there to help me within 20 minutes. He was also very nice and explained to me what he needed to do and what I needed to do (steering, car in neutral, etc). Thank you guys for helping me out of a bad situation!

Threatened to take my car back and lock it up of I didnt pay. Pulled out my phone and started dialing the front desk, then he offers to waive the fee he randomly added. What a nice guy huh? Seriously garbage people here.

My car has the sticker, and the worker didnt see that, still towed my car. Then they say stickers should be attached to the front or back, so I should pay $85. Is it legal? I checked Illinois laws, there dont have any law says that sticker must be on the front or back, otherwise your car will be towed. This is the worst company Ive ever had. BTW: I think my car was towed completely just because my car only had a temporary license plate. Who is the user of this company, please be careful

These are probably the greediest people I have ever met and run their company with no morals whatsoever. My friends have had to deal with these people as have I and each experience has been absolutely awful. They overcharge completely, have their hours set so the majority of people they tow owe an extra 30-50 dollars, and are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life. I get that working for a tow company isnt the best because you have to deal with irritated people but that gives you no right to be curt and nasty to the people that you screwed out of money in the first place (especially if they are trying to be complaint and polite as possible which we certainly were). This place is set up to rip off college students who dont even have any money to begin with, shame on them. Awful, awful people. If you actually need a towing service, spend your money elsewhere because these people DO NOT deserve it whatsoever.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Staff here are INCREDIBLY rude, snotty and clearly hate their job (especially Carrie). I always tried dealing with them, over the phone and in person, with a cheerful attitude and open mind. EVERY TIME, she was snippy and nasty to me for no reason. The worst customer service I have had!!! I need them to tow my car after regular service hour, I paid for extra $50 bucks and totally understood and appreciated that they had to work for me. But the service was horrible!!! The lady on the phone was so MEAN. I scheduled the time to pick up my car, but because of the bad traffic, I was late for couple minutes and she yelled to me in the phone and asked me where I was, and she told me that if I can’t showed up on time, they gonna charge me another $50... it seemed like that I was lying to her. They don’t have the obligation to wait couple minutes for me—a customer!!! Lovetts was a great experience for me since Im not super familiar with Dekalb! I was actually out there for a work meeting when I came out and saw I was in need of a tow truck ASAP. Normally I would use my AAA but my membership had just expired. I googled the nearest place and found Lovetts right away. Shannon was very accommodating, said they could be there in 15-20 mins and they were!!! Choose Lovetts 24 Hour Towing for any emergency towing needs! They were competitively priced and very professional.

I called to get some help getting a car out that they towed. Lady who picked up was rude from the beginning!
