Roger was my seller, he is new but he did a great job. It would have been nice if he would have explain more about the features of the car. They offer free car washes but they are not efficient. Had to wait 25 mins for a car wash. Not everybody has that much time for a car wash. Overall it was a good experience.

Visited Crystal Lake Volkswagen dealership to test drive a certified used 2018 white silver Tiguan with my husband for our son’s 17th birthday gift.Mr. Bruce Jones approached us after couple of minutes perusing through a Tiguan parked on the lot which ended up being the car we wanted to test drive! So no waiting there at all.Pleasantly surprised with such excellent service and superb customer experience Bruce provided us which made my husband and I completely comfortable dealing with “no pressure” demeanor from a car salesperson. Tiguan S rode smoothly without any issues but noted cigarette smell emitting from inside the car, minor bumper scratches, few areas of stain from the back seat and drivers door panel and passenger seat that had a broken handle which was later mentioned to Bruce. Otherwise, the car had low mileage and in really great shape. Bruce took notes and stated he will make sure all of our concerns about the car are addressed and offered us to come back to test drive again. We liked the car so much and the excellent service with no hidden outrageous added charges, my husband and I decided to purchase the car on the same visit.A week later, above concerns were addressed by Bruce! My husband and I inspected all the areas of concern about the vehicle and they were addressed! I could not be happier! This summer I was a first time car buyer. I was nervous to deal with the pressure you typically hear about when purchasing a car. However, from the second I walked into the Crystal Lake Volkswagen car dealership, Frank made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was patient, answered all my questions and made the process a breeze! I highly recommend working with Frank and the Volkswagen team.

Buyer beware!!! Do not buy a used or new car from Volkswagen of Crystal Lake. I purchased a 2012 Elantra on March 8, 2021 for 7,400 for my college student at Harper. She went on spring break and upon returning after driving it a few times the transmission went out. As a Christian I asked for a refund or a safe vehicle for her to drive and Nick Saciano & the GM Dan refuse to refund my money. They refuse to fix the car that Anderson now deems unsafe to drive and they refuse to replace the car. Nick indicated that he is following his companys policies. I hope this posts helps someone else who may be considering purchasing a vehicle at Volkswagen of Crystal Lake.I would give 0 stars, but I cannot post without noting 1 star.

They are probably the least helpful people i have ever met when it comes to service. Dont take your car here for any kind of work.First off they had my car in their shop for over 2 weeks for a job that takes 6 HOURS. They gave me no loaner car so I was without car for that time period. And when I tried to contact them with updates they would tell me its almost done. Each time... finally I got fed up with it and went into there shop and asked why its taking so long. They gave me a response of we have some emergency vehicles we have to do first so Im not considered an emergency vehicle when I am without a car and have work to be at?Then I take it back to get looked at a few months down the line because I hear noises obviously from the work they did. Again they try to play off that they are not at fault and saying that my car has too many after market parts involved so they cant even touch it now.

Brought car in for warranty work where subframe needed to be removed. Car was there for 2 weeks for a supposed 1 day job. They called an admitted they have never done the job before even though it’s 3 year old model. Got my car back finally and the tech left SUBFRAME BOLTS OUT! HUGE SAFETY issue and all they did to correct it was install new bolts. No alignment performed or anything at any point. This is a huge safety issue and they had already put my life in danger. I will never be taking my car back here or buying from them again. Please take your vehicle to another dealership as this one does not care about your safety.

Although I am not of fan of my Volkswagen car (2009 VW Tiguan as it has caused so many issues for me) the repair department was quick and fixed the issue that I had come in with.For a back story, I brought my car to a different mechanic not associated with this dealership and they screwed me over and did not fix the problem of my car. That mechanic had my car for over 2 months, took my money and the car still had the issues. I had to have my car towed and Volkswagen fixed what they needed to fix in less than a day. the service was QUICK and up-front about their costs. For me, communication is my number one priority and Volkswagen of crystal lake did that in a timely manner. Im not sure of newer models of the car, but i would definitely not recommend the make and model of my car, my check engine light is on AGAIN. If you buy a Volkswagen, make sure you have a lot of money to use for repairs. :(

These guys without a doubt are some of the best to work with in the VW brand in Illinois. I looked far and wide when looking for my Golf R back in 2016 and these guys worked with me on my 2011 WRX trade. Got a great rate on the 2016 Golf R and enjoyed every minute of the 3 years I had with the car.At the end of the lease they made sure to take care of me also. We without a doubt will be back and I cannot recommend this dealership more. I love performance cars but I love great service even more. This dealership delivers on that 100%.

Update: I was going to delete this because they said it wasn’t their team that sold me the car, then I realized I mistakenly said I purchased this car three years ago but it was actually two, August 16, 2018. Therefore, it was their current General Manager that was in charge, and they would not have handled it differently like they said in their response because obviously they did not.If you are purchasing a used vehicle make sure you have it looked at by an independent auto mechanic, you have one month. When I brought the used Hyundai I bought from them in for the first oil change I was informed that there was metal in the oil and the motor was shot. They would not do anything to make it right and either they didn’t look the car over or they knew there was metal in the engine. I should have done the review when it happened three years ago but let it go. However, today I asked them to stop sending me emails because of the bad experience I had with them and they returned a very rude and sarcastic email back to me. Now I feel obligated to at least warn people that if things don’t go well they are really quite awful about it.

The staff and everyone is wonderful and so very helpful. They made me so happy and helped me learn so much about my new car!

The waiting area is super clean and comfortable... the wait was short for a broken mirror and the entire staff was super friendly and helpful. I see no reason to go anywhere else honestly.Went twice now and for synthetic oil changes you cannot beat their price, speed, or service. Alan is fantastic. My family purchased a car here last year. I came to bring it in just to get it washed (they offer free car washes for as long as you own the car youve purchased here), and the dealership is so nice! The environment is so clean and comfortable and it is easy to make yourself at home. And on top of that, the employees I have met are so kind! While I dont have experience with the sales or repair aspects of the car, I am impressed with this locations customer service, especially into some dealerships I have visited prior.

Jim Clinton is a very welcoming and cooperative agent. I traveled to buy my first car in the USA from them and he arranged the whole thing. He even manages to get a discount for me. Although it was not his workday, he came from his home and was waiting for me there. He was so kind as to give me his personal cell number and did not let the thing for the caller machine just to make sure that everything goes perfectly.I did the driving test of the car with him and he was very sincere and honest about it.I was glad to deal with Jim and I had fun doing that. We shared a common passcode between us to make the deal successful and bring us luck. He was very good at saying, memorizing, and deciphering it. This code was Inshaaa Allah. I wish that there is space to post a photo here. I would post the selfie I took with Jim :)Since I am from another state, it took some time to receive the papers for the car and during that time, I contacted him multiple times and he was very helpful and informative as if I am calling him for the first time. He returned to me with information about the delivery and even sent me the track ID for the shipment.I like to double or triple check things. I bought a used Honda CRV from them for a very good price so I took it to a Honda dealer to check it thoroughly and found that the car is in very good shape and that Anderson Crystal Lake and their agent Jim were so honest, Alhamdulil Allah.I call him Clint Eastwood of Crystal Lake. Get my car serviced here all the time. They are always very nice and usually get me in for oil changes when I just pop in without an appointment. Inside is very clean. The building is pretty new. I always hated going to dealerships to have work done on my car, but have had a change of heart with my Volkswagens. Volkswagens take specific oil and I only like authentic VW parts in my car. This dealership has also given me a loaner car when I am not able to take a day off work to bring my car in!! Very cool of them.

Matt in service is always beyond amazing in the customer service he provides. He is extremely personable and knowledgeable. I am able to get my car in for service in a timely manner, its completed when quoted, and the work is done correctly. My fiancé and I recently purchase a Golf from Volkswagen of Crystal lake. Our buying experience way very nice, we even had the opportunity to meet with the owner! Unfortunately less than 24 hours after leaving the dealership with our car a service light appeared with a message stating to leave the car in park. Thankfully the dealership was accommodating and stated they would fix the car after it was delivered back to the dealership by tow truck. We are currently driving a loaner car. Today, several days including a holiday weekend, after or car was brought back to the dealership I called to check in on the progress and was informed that the necessary part is on an order block and they are unsure when they will be able to get the necessary part. I guess we will see what happens next. I plan to update this review as this process continues to unfold but currently I am extremely dissatisfied and upset with my experience buying a car from Crystal Lake Volkswagen.***UPDATE***Our car was recently returned to us in full working order. Everyone at the dealership was highly apologetic and made sure that all of my questions and concerns were addressed. I have updated my ranking to four stars- recognizing that the issue with our car is a rare malfunction, what he was handled by the dealership with care, for the most part.

First of all I would like to say I went to Volkswagen of Crystal Lake to buy a used car, not a new car, a used car. I was looking for a specific vehicle and that lead me to them. I contacted them through email about the vehicle and got a response within 24 hours. After that I called their sales department and talked to Leah, hands down one of the nicest and most helpful people you will ever meet. She answered every question I had about the vehicle and even went out of her way to get me the specific details I wanted to know. To me that says a lot because I was a 4 hour drive away and out of state and I was treated like I was talking face to face with her when it was only through email or over the phone.The day comes to make the 4 hour drive to possibly purchase the vehicle. I show up and met Derek who showed me to the vehicle and went with on the test drive. Once again, super nice and cool guy who answered any of my questions. The vehicle exceeded my expectations when I saw it in person, it was better in person than any pictures or description that was given.After the test drive I met Alex help out taking my information and making the paperwork process painless. Another super nice guy that will answer any questions you may have. After finishing up the paperwork with Alex and Derek I was driving away with my new vehicle.Once again I got this over and above kind of service and I was only purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership and I was 4 hours away and out of state. I have been in similar situations like this before and dealers wont even respond back to you. I wouldnt hesitate to make the 4 hour drive again to purchase a vehicle from them again, new or used. This is absolutely the best dealer in town. Not only do they have the best priced quality cars, but their sales team is incredible. Bob L. was so good to me during my car buying experience. He steered me towards the best car for me that was everything I wanted, he was able to strike me a great deal too. If you ever go here for your car shopping (which you should!) definitely ask for Bob L. I cant say enough how impressed I was with the place and the sales experience I had. The place also has a very fun and relaxed vibe which helps a lot. They are not a normal car dealership, they set the standard very high. Great experience with Bob L. 5 stars

Outstanding Team that got me in and taken care of without any hassle. I stayed in their waiting area that has WiFi, charging area, TV, and comfy seating. Refreshments were available and again the Team was very helpful and friendly!I highly recommend this location!

Recently bought a new car from this dealership and had a great sales experience. Worked with Frank - not pushy at all, very knowledgeable, straight forward and kept to his word. Same experience with the sales managers - would highly recommend. Was not impressed at all with the finance manager - pushy, inappropriate and I couldnt wait to get out of there. Luckily we had had such a good experience outside of that we went through with the purchase. Also visited the service department to get one item fixed - Alan was very helpful and kept me updated. A good overall experience there too.
