The crew at the Big Bike shop are a great group of people who are very knowledgeable of the Harley Davidson motorcycles! I say this as an ex Harley Davidson mechanic myself! The owner Fred is a wealth of knowledge on all makes, models and years I highly recommend this place for all your Harley Davidson and Harley Davidson style motorcycles! Cheif mechanic Mike does an incredible job on all types of complete bike builds to repairs and service! One of the few remaining old school shops left and located in beautiful downtown Columbus Ohio!
Good people. Reasonable prices. Much rather use BBS than dealer.
Super nice people, and great prices,, way better than dealer prices, I will be going back again
The service is really pretty Ill go back
I own a big cubic inch, high compression Sportster that had its engine built by The Big Bike Shop. Man this thing can run! Pull the choke, pop in the compression releases and hit the button and it fires up immediately. Great job guys!
I own my own custom motorcycle shop and when we need parts for anything in a hurry or parts for older bikes we go to the big bike shop. fred and oc are always willing to go out of their way to help us. The big bike shop does great work and has been for ages. their on of the longest standing bike shops in Columbus oh. If you need parts or your bike worked on the big bike shop is a very good choice.
They have things that no other big shop has . The owner was willing to take his time and talk to me and give me advice . Love this place !
Fred and his team a great, old skool, motocycle riding wrench heads that get the work done, and your bike ready to leave.. Plus, their cool duds.
I found this place online because I live close. They were very quick to come pick up my bike (other than being 2 hours late from the appointment). I was wanting a oil change and a over all inspection on my bike. I was told to call later in the day. Then later that day I called and was told oh no you will have to call tomorrow The next day I called and they said call back later. When I called at 4pm (which they are open until 6) they said they didnt know the status and to call back and ask for OC in the morning. The next day I called and OC said they had started on the bike, but the mechanic was out for an appointment and had the oil changed and was working on the bike and to check back later. When I called back later they said I dont know how far he is along with it, call back tomorrow. At this point I knew I was getting the run around and told them to stop all work on the bike. When I picked the bike up the next day they were open they had not done the oil change or 1 thing to it and charged me $155 for picking it up (I live 1.7 miles away from the shop) and 1 hour labor. They only took cash for the hand written invoice. I debated weather or not to write this after the frustration of this experience was gone. In the end Im sure they are nice people but decided to post this so no one else has to go through this. Ended up taking my custom chopper to ASK Motorsports on the east side and within 2 hours they already started working on the bike. Any questions, please ask.
Always wanted to check out this place but its kinda hard since its never open even during the posted hours
My brother and i went in looking for a brake line. After Fred found it and we talked about what we were building he handed it to my brother and said merry christmas and it was the first of febuary.Really helpful amd answers any questions you have not in a hurry to push you out the door even if you are just asking for advice. Thanks Fred for all the help
Ive been going to the Big Bike Shop for over ten years. Fred, Mike and OC have all worked on my Harleys at one point or another including working on complicated engine, transmission and electrical issues. Fred, the owner of the Big Bike Shop, has been at 581 West Broad for over 40 years. Fred, Mike and OC have over 100 years of combined experience working on Harleys. They work on Flatheads, Knuckleheads, Panheads, Shovelheads, EVOs and even modern Twin Cams. The shop is a throw back to when independent motorcycle shops flourished like hardward stores before Lowes and Home Depot. There isnt a computer in the shop, but if you want years of experience, these are the guys. These are real old guard chopper and Harley mechanics who are willing to help you with your bike and/or project with parts or an oil change, new tire or rebuilding your motor or carb. If you want the big dealership treatment and the high prices, go somewhere else, but if you want to talk with people who actually build bikes and work on them, this the place to go.
These here are some everybody friendly people. Every time i walked in I felt welcme and at ease, was very satisfied by their customer care. I have not had my bike worked on there but I would take my bike there before anyone else besides me. Friendly, curtious and didnt treat me like a weirdo, and Im not the normal yuppy or biker guy to say. Thanks fellas and hope to see ya soon
Always help me out when no one can get me parts he can for sure
Professional work, with an old-school appeal.
