This place was so far the best experience I had with a mechanic. My heat stopped working and my steering wheel was like doing arms workout week lol Jay was amazing and very easy to talk to and explained what was wrong with my car. Now my steering is smooth and I have a heat before winter. Thank you!!!!

Jay and his crew did a terrific job finding the problems and getting my vehicle back quickly. A few days following the diagnostic check and A/C refrigerant fill, Jay called me when the parts were in (rear axle, wheel bearings, front 4WD hub) and they had the repairs completed in one day. This is a professional operation that cares about customer satisfaction.

They do excellent work I think their prices are way too high.

I brought my 1998 Mercedes to Aamco at scheduled time to replace a leaking electric connector and the outstanding technicians found a more serious issue with the transmission. The car shifts and drives as well as it did 21 years ago when I bought it. The repair was done within a couple of hours while I waited at a reasonable cost. Jay and his crew are very professional and honest people and I highly recommended them for transmission needs.

The gentleman at the Cleveland Avenue location was professional and friendly.Dropped my car off late Tuesday, under the impression it was an issue with the transmission. Got a call around noon Wednesday with the good news I just needed to replace the coil and spark plugs. Reached out to a mechanic friend to check the price I was quoted and they assured me it was a fair price for the service. The car was ready for me Wednesday afternoon!Ive been driving it for 5 days and it is running great!

I have a older Cadillac that had some transmission issues. The owner is a friendly and fair person. They were professional and honest. The price for repairs were were fair. I will go back for more service in the future

Jay and his team simple take care of you... or in this case they took care of my 19 year old son (Preston) and his car. Being a kid with his own very lean budget, Jay was incredibly gracious to stand behind his parts and labor in regards to my sons brakes and calipers as well as the transmission work done earlier. Brakes were recently changed but was hearing a scraping noise from front passenger side. Was referred to Jay at AAMCO by a friend. Scheduled a same day appointment, had car looked at, replaced the plate and was out the door. Definitely recommend them and will take car in for future services. Took my car in for a major job. Flywheel replacement, new alternator, starter. I dont think I could have had a better experience with everyone involved at the shop! Jay walked me through the process and notified me of a couple other issues that needed taken care of, which was not surprising because of the length of time the car sat. Love this place. I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so I’m there often. I tend to be a bit dramatic and Jay and his techs are always patient, kind and honest. Just had a part fixed under warranty, didn’t cost me a dime and I was in and out on the same day. I recommend them to everyone I know who needs work done.

I had a bad luck good luck day on 6/1/20..while working in my 07 Chevy duramax my transmission went out! Luckily l was right beside ammo on Cleveland ave. I met Jay at the counter and he gave the truck a diagnostic test. He told me what was wrong and a fair quote. Two days later, on time, the truck was repaired and ran better than it had in years!!! I needed a new clutch and they had it done by the next day. My engine light came on and I went back to see if it was anything they had done. They were very respectful and patient. They used their computer to see what the code was and apparently my knock sensor had broken during the process. They immediately looked for a part of their own and replaced it at no extra charge all while being very courteous and respectful. I even hit it off with one of their techs. Great experience! Awesome warranty!

Once I found out my transmission went out, I did lots and lots of research on different places who rebuild and replaces transmissions. When I called Glen at AAMCO I was pretty much hooked after the first three minutes of our conversation. He was polite, very informative with reassurance and he told me my car would be in the best hands. AAMCO kept me up to date on every step during the rebuilt process and was the only place that offered an 18 month warranty, most placed only offer one year. After my car was finished Glen told me to be sure to bring it back in 10 days so they could check it out free of charge. They not only checked it out but they checked a few other things on my car as well and offered some advice. Car is running great, zero transmission problems. AAMCO is top notch material. Keep up the good work.

They seem to not add on and overcharge here. So I bring my cars for more than just transmission work. Still very happy after several years of coming here.

I took my 1985 Jeep J10 for a new clutch kit and after experiencing some problems with other parts of the car (not the clutch), their head Mechanic, Jay offered to call a different auto shop (not an Aamco) and figure out what was going on Mechanic to Mechanic. These guys are great got my car fixed right the first time and for less than l I expected I thought I would be without a ride for at least a week but they got my 2010 Dodge Charger with the Mercedes transmission on the road and now I can burn twice the rubber that I could even when the car was new. After 20 yrs in Columbus I have finally found the best automotive shop in the city. Aamco on Cleveland ave.. I had the pleasure of getting my 05 civic repaired here this morning. Jay and John could have not been been more thorough about the repairs and kept the costs way below what I have been used to, owning many Hondas in my time. Their service techs are very concerned about your vehicle and fix it in an extremely timely manner. In all, they will have all my business and Im recommending them to all my family and friends. For all u foreign car owners the dealerships have nothing on these guys....You want a place that is fair, honest, and reliable? Then, take your vehicles to Jay and John at Aamco on Cleveland ave. YOUR WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED..

Possibly one of the worst experiences Ive had with a shop. I do most of my own work to my car, but when it came to transmission work, I was not confident enough in myself. After being referred to these guys specifically by Tom Hatem Automotive, I was sure it would be an easy experience. At first, guys were nice, realistic and easy-going. After calling me back a week later claiming they fixed the issue, I drove 45 minutes to find that my issue remained the same. Left the car with them overnight to look over in the morning and received a call saying they couldnt do anything about it. Almost as if they didnt even do any sort of investigating before tearing my transmission apart and replacing a $300 part??? Wish they realized they couldnt do the work before the near $800 service and week and a half of waiting. Do not recommend to anybody who needs serious work done.

MY CUSTOMER WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE WITH ME AND I HAD TO TELL HIM THAT IM SORRY BUT THE $5,200 HE HAS WASNT GOOD THERE. I WILL NEVER CALL THERE AGAIN, NORE WILL I EVER TELL ALL THERE PEOPLE I KNOW TO GO THERE. THERE A JOKE.

I have had four occasions to have several of of my vehicles repaired at this AAMCO facility. I have always received courtious service and fair pricing.

Wow! All I can say is I sure wish I would have called this place first being taking my car to that untrained, uneducated place on East Main called A-Team Transmission. Those bums took my new tranny I brought them to do a simple swap and disassembled it into pieces and said they were making a parts list for it, which it did not need, it was just rebuilt by a shop in Ohio, T45 Source. They didnt realize I have been a mechanic for over 25yrs and always done my own work til now as I no longer have my lift. I had to pay for a flatbed tow truck and hauled it over to Aamco on a Friday night after hours. There, I was greeted nicely with the up most professionalism and was told they would have me back on the road by the close of business the next day, Saturday. Sure, I was thinking theres noway they were gonna assemble a new tranny that A-Team had mangled into a hundred pieces and install a new clutch kit. I was dreading the phone call in the morning after the mechs take a look at the mess I picked back up from the place on East Main. Aamco called the next morning and notified me that it was together and running perfectly. I couldnt believe it. These guys are the best around. Im gonna take my car back this week so they can install a new adjustable clutch cable and quandrant. Definitely will not call another shop in Columbus again. Ask for Manny or Bob. Great stand-up guys.
