My go-to coffee shop when I visit Cincinnati. I’m from Chicago where the beverage and food game is highly elevated. This shop is competing with the best. And their prices are way better than those other shops in Chicago. I used to go to Coffee emporium but it became way too popular, lines are now insane. This place is my hidden gem.

Asked what sugar free syrups / flavors they have, due to dietary restrictions. They told me they don’t carry ANY. I left, and didn’t buy anything. At least they were nice about it. However, if you need to restrict sugar, and want a flavored latte, or another flavored drink, I would recommend going to another coffee shop.

I got the turmeric ginger tea and it was so good! The environment had a good ambiance and is good for a casual date or even to study.

I love deeper roots. It’s amazing coffee. The only issue I have with them, is that they only have one size of coffee. 12 oz is way too small for the amount of children I have to deal with in the morning. Please sell bigger sizes, my children will thank you.

Great coffee like all their locations. Only giving this one 4 stars because the seating area is not as nice or modern as its other locations. The seating area needs a fresh coat of paint and an update. Baristas are amazing.

Theirs only a handful of places doing coffee right in Cincinnati and this is one of them. They are the Burt Reynolds of local shops!!

Great local shop and roaster. High quality product. Slightly higher prices. No cold brew :( iced coffee though! Pour over station, excellent espresso and milk steaming. Friendly and clean. Good Wi-Fi and different sitting areas.

• Very tasty coffee, nice place and decent area, free 1hr parking• The shop is neat and clean, its simply decorated and has decent prices. Ive tried the nitro cold brew, which was very good. It came in a nice glass and looked just like beer with the little foam and had and interesting taste. It tastes like a good coffee (nothing too strong or bitter) with a little tingle on your tongue from the bubbles.• One thing that was a little weird was the seating. There were two larger tables that were taken, and smaller high tops with people working on their laptops. Which is fine, its a coffee shop, but there was only one table for two and it was taken. We sat on awkward chairs next to each other to someone else got up and we could sit at a table.

While the coffee was good, there wasnt a lot of drink and food options.

It’s ok their lavender iced coffee wasn’t my favorite but the ambiance and aesthetics are nice.

I definitely would recommend this place the baristas were friendly and the coffee delicious and the people friendly!!!!

I like the small, local feel you get from here. The coffee is great too. Normally, I dont prefer hot drinks, but the Honey Bear drink there is a must any time I visit. A warm latte with a dash of cinnamon and local honey really hits the spot.

The OG Deeper Roots location. Always good baristas here with knowledge on the beans and beverages. Its short walk from my house and is my go-to for all of the bean water variants.

Deeper roots is one of my favorites in Cincinnati. Such delicious coffee with information on how each roast was produced. Whether you care where your coffee comes from or not, Deeper roots goes the extra mile to make sure the coffee youre drinking is the best possible product it could be.

I love this place always quality food & service. had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. the place has a cool feel to it. menu is like a cafe in boston i liked.

It’s a bit pricy but I love the small shop feel. I try something different every time I stop in and I’ve never been disappointed.

Visited on a Thursday. Definitely worth a return visit. I can see why they have so many good reviews.

I really liked this place. Its a nice cozy little spot to grab a cup of coffee and talk with a friend or get some work done. The multiple selections of coffees is better than any of the large chain shops. I really liked getting coffee in a ceramic mug instead of a cardboard cup while there. Its a wonderful spot to get a cup and relax. I wish there were more places like this around.

You can tell the proprietors of this establishment care about coffee. They even take the time to select fantastic decaf coffee beans.

Not sure how many people live in the German Village but they must live in the back and not have big appetites because there is no way! I was almost compelled to tell them they did not charge me enough. Basic, hot, and home cooked. You gotta get there early or you will be strudeled and have to wait. Even then it is worth it.

I was honestly disappointed by the service. Went there to try their espresso as I am trying to find some good local beans. Paid for the shot as I never ask for free stuff and asked about roasting process but their staff didn’t know anything. They found someone who works at the roasting facility and he was rude. Without even asking which machine I use, he told me not to expect results like their store (which was average) at home as I don’t have a good machine. 😄I’m big on supporting local businesses but my experience here was not positive.

Was really impressed with how good the coffee tasted but a bit pricey for lattes. A bit disappointed that the staff didnt tell me that there was only one size for lattes and it was too late that I already realized Id spent $4.25 for 12 oz latte.

I am currently enjoying a honey bear latte and I am living for the atmosphere. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and cozy vibes. I highly recommend.

Nice environment. Nice colors. The tall black chairs are uncomfortable however. I ordered the honey bear latte, it was good coffee. Their prices are similar to Starbucks. The customer service could use some improvements.

Deeper Roots just gained another star for me, actually, two. They have some great beans and make a great iced coffee for the summer. I used to think theyre beans were over roasted but something has changed, them or me. Either way, 5 stars for great locally roasted coffee.I really like their toast options but the prices are high.

This is a small, high-end coffee shop. Not much seating, so most people seemed to pick up a coffee to go. If youre into exotic flavors, this place is for you. I would have preferred some more traditional - or rather, less exotic - options.

They have macadamia milk and it tastes amazing! Not very much seating but it’s more of a grab and go type of place. Great selection plus they have some pastries!

I am currently touring America in search of the perfect donut. I was passing through town in my school bus and stumbled upon the best fruit Danish Ive ever had... I want to buy 6 and freeze them all. I will resurrect one at a time on special occasions. I want a deeper roots fruit danash wedding cake. I can still taste the butter....ugh delightful texture. This is certainly a plot twist... in my search for the perfect donut. Life changed, life discovered.

Dont expect a $0.99 cup of coffee because you wont find it. What others have said about pricey is pretty true, but this is a case of its worth it. I drink a LOT of coffee and Deeper Roots is hands down the best Ive been able to find in town. Their beans range in flavor so much that Im consistently amazed they all come from the same plant. Friendly staff make for a great experience.

A pleasant surprise! A friend mentioned they didnt like it so I avoided this place for a long time. Huge mistake! I really like this place. It has a good vibe and the coffee is great.

The coffee is great, and the seating room is nice and quite. Its great for doing work on your laptop. I loved the nitro coffee. A word of warning though, it did not seem to have many sweet frappe like drinks. This is a place for coffee lovers, and is all about the coffee, not what you add to it.

I got black coffee and it was very strong. There wasnt much seating. They did place a heavy emphasis on recycling which was neat.

This space used to be the old smoothie shop attached to the Blue Manatee, but its a totally separate and grown-up coffee shop now. The decor is great and the staff knowledgeable. They do have non-dairy milks for vegan and lactose intolerant folks. Its a bit of a squeeze with limited table space, so probably not the best space for your entire book club, but its perfect for one or two people to grab something warm to drink.

Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, good coffee, and some tasty treats. I highly recommend getting a bag of coffee, trying their pour overs, and the cinnamon toast! Also, one of the few places that makes a good latte!

Deep Roots Cafe is a cute and cozy cafe. I had a delicious cappuccino here while I spent some time studying. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because one of the baristas was very rude when I asked her to repeat the Wi-Fi password. She spoke to me as if I was a child and used hand motions.

I love how they renovated this space, it is a huge change from blue manatees decaf. Coffee is great, staff is super friendly and went above and beyond to serve myself and the kids I brought with me. There is still a door to blue manatee inside the shop, and a convenient water dispenser with glasses too.

The vibe here is Authenticity. Multiple hi quality offerings, including a pour-over option, well made pastries (done off-site), innovative iced and cold brew options, literally on-tap. These folks are not dilletants. Will return as often as I can.

Super kind staff, delicious treats. Atmosphere is unique & vibrant, with tasty coffee to boot. Seating was limited with a lot of single people taking up tables for 4. I planned a meeting here sight unseen but only got lucky when a customer (who was at a table for 5-6) offered his table because he would be leaving soon. I was lucky for the kindness of this stranger, but I noticed many others that morning/afternoon who were unable to be seated because of single persons taking up full tables. Perhaps a bar option could be great to fit more of these kinds of patrons, and open up seating for larger parties. Still had a nice time, though!

Was in the area killing time when I decided to try a new coffee shop Id found on Google maps. I was happy to fine its a cute, cozy place with friendly service, free WiFi, a simple menu, and a delicious vanilla latte. I plan to go back to try some other there brews in the near future.

Great third wave coffee. If youre visiting from out of town, you cant go wrong with the beans you buy from Deeper Roots. They pull excellent shots of espresso at their shop on Madison. Baristas are nice and the croissants are really tasty.

This is excellent coffee. Excited to come back and try more drinks. So far Ive had several espresso drinks and theyve all been excellent. The shop is a great space with several high counters and stools where you can enjoy a drink with friends or get some studying done. Ask the barista for the wifi password.
