I cannot even tell you how much I loved this store. First off, it’s a piece of history since it’s the first location, but on top of that, it’s an excellent place to shop. I was able to get groceries that will last me a month probably along with all the Diwali essentials I needed. The service is next level, and the prices can’t be beat. All the produce is super fresh, and the store is very well organized. It’s probably the best place to purchase Desi items in the whole Midwest.
The original Patel Bros store.Until 2020, it was a really small and cranked store with barely enough place for two people to cross the same aisle. Post-renovation, this store is great. Very spacious and good collection of Indian produce and groceries. The staff members are quite helpful and usually checkout lines move quickly too.The in-house restaurant is also amazing with really cheap snack items and packed goods. Would definitely recommend this store! It would be great if they provided parking since Devon Ave is always crowded.
This place is now well organized. Easy to pickup things needed. Veggies are having a dedicated isle and looks good. The trays for potatoes, tomatoes etc. may be less inclined so that the contents wont slide down while customer picks things.Food wing is good. The cakes are superb.Maintain the standard and all the Best.
Good place for Indian groceries. So far so good. !!
I love going to this store for groceries, it has the best prices in the city for produce and veggies. Their fresh snack section is delicious, I recently had then make a bulk order for my party and ordering was super easy too. You could find pretty much every indian item at this grocery store, I love it!
This place was recently renovated. The new layout is well organised. They now have a bakery setup as well and sell fresh bakery snacks along with confectionery items- so that’s new.One stop shop for all Indian grocery items.
Excellent grocery store on Devon! I love stocking up on my lentils, turmeric, dates, and spices here!
Best shop to find spices, lentils, vegetables and snacks,Out of 10:Place - 7Cleanliness - 7Hygiene - 7items available - 9Driving - 7 (too much traffic in some hours)walking - 9Hiking - N/ACycling - 6Food cost - 8Washroom - N/A (I did not use)People/staff - 7weather - N/AArea environment - 6 (too much gathering)
All South Asian groceries are available here, good shopping for It Indian community.
A good store, though I like the one in Edison NJ better as far as the range of products and prices are concerned. We found most of the grocery items that we were looking for. The store was clean and isles well organized.
New store, great stuff. Found some good deals on fresh produce.Cashiers are helpful and polite. Good experience.
May be great place not sure because unable to park the car and visit
Great place. Clean, organized. Wonderful selection!
Very Nice Store Cleaning Is Very Good Price. The Employees Is Very Friendly And Help Out to Costumers.
Hands down the best Patel brothers store, and for that matter, best place to get Indian groceries! Even the fruits here are great!!!
Very nice clean the store is a one stop shop if u want India food or grocery this is the place to go to the rest room where very clean
Small and compact place which has almost all of the necessities needed for Indian cooking. Staff are pretty good too.
Price is more affordable. One of the best place
Very horrible customer service and prices very high and competitive, worst store in Devon
Love the new Building and restaurant inside. Looks like just like the one in New York City and Chicago. Huge Growth!
One of the only places to stock and sell almost all Indian groceries near downtown. Great place to buy fresh rotis, veggies, a few fruits, all spices and dairy products. Prices are comparable to other Patel Bro’s stores around the country. This is our weekly go to store for supplies. Paid parking on the road. The store associates will allow you to take the cart until the cab and return it. If you want to take the cart a block or two, then you’ll need to submit your ID and collect it after returning the cart.
Excellent store. It was a bit of drive to get through the the Sunday Devon traffic. But we’ll worth it!
The place looks great post-renovation and they have things in stock that i havent found in the last year... Glad to see fresh food has come to the Devon location!
My name is Fernando Soto, and I have visited this grocery store because my colleague and friend is Malaysian and has Indian ethnicity background... I went 8n there with her and she was having the time of her life looking into all the spices, I just continue looking at the products and brands since I am not familiar with them... but I was looking for the samosas dough which I have used before... The problem lies in the fact that I was racial profiles by the employees and manager... they followed me in each aisle, the placed someone no more than 6 feet away from me in every move I was making... when I noticed that which was very uncomfortable I returned to my friend side and try to accelerate the process to finish the purchased. Just because I was there with her, I would have left the place, but we ended up spending more than 100 dollars... but the aggravation didnt finish there... the bagger was not staring at me he was literally policing me with his eyes... We have parked right in front of the grocery store and even though we were done and walking out they were insensitive with their monitoring process... I am still thinking to follow a racial profile complaint because it was obvious, I was the only non indian person in the place... I cannot say black because some employees were even darker than me... I do hope this wont happen again... THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE... AND THEY DIDNT CARE!!!
Excelent for buying Hindu food and groceries.
Good prices, good service, good selection
It’s smaller than Naperville but well organized can rush through things and get all things needed had lesser brands other than in house in the store
Im a regular customer at Patel brothers Chicago. But today when I went to purchase samosa from their newly opened freshly made food section, I asked the lady that if they have any non veg section there. In my shock the lady replied me that we indian dont eat non vegetarian food. Then I asked her that who told you that and she again replied me back that true indian dont eat non veg food. I was shocked because Patel brothers sell fishes. But that comment was really racial and shocking and pathetic
Best place to buy fresh chapatis. But be careful buying frozen food. Most of the time they have expire food in the fridge. Check the expiration dates before buying any frozen item!
It’s fine but it doesn’t even look like they remodeled anything it even looks smaller than before
Huge variety of Indian grocery items, with the new outlet even selling freshly cooked Indian veggies and rotis at a reasonable price
The best place for buying Indian groceries, soaps, spicies, vegitables everything at under one roof.
First time in this store. Seems like a good place for Indian ingredients.
Hot food bar is really delicious!
This place has everything on groceries you would need from an Indian’s perspective, and more.Spices, pulses, snacks, vegetables, rice and the list goes on.Staffs were very friendly too, could communicate in English and most in Hindi as well, and guided us to whatever we asked for. Also, neghbourhood has several amazing Indian/Pakistani restaurants where you could have authentic meals, which just add to the overall experience out there.Would totally recommend a visit.
We can get the grocery at a reduced prices and the vegetables are always fresh
Best place to grocery for Asian peoples. At Devon ave they renovated.
Good place to find all Indian spices and raw materials for cooking.
Lots of selection, but groceries and drinks more expensive than the neighboring fresh mart.
New, Clean excellent bakery and fresh home made chapattis and curries
Not crowdy and very fasf service with affordable prices

Good and cheap grocery and vegetables
Its like super market not so big
Superb place for Indian grocery buyer
Nice variety of all kinds of foods
Everything under one roof, except the fresh meat

As Indian, I enjoy Indian groceries with Indian.
Nicely renovated store. Expect bit more cleaning.
Everything was good but no parking
Good indian delicacies and groceries
Renovated but still congested,at least you will get everything
Good place to shop. Horrible parking facilities.

Exlent and pleasurefull
Items missing in bag after being billed for it.
Very congested.. Hope the planned renovation help us move freely in the aisles
Good one.
Best place for indian grocery shopping. You can get almost everything. They also have fresh vegetables sections where they have alot of varieties. I was actually surprised to find sattu there which is sometimes even difficult to find in some stores in india. Cost is very reasonable. Specially vegetables and fruits costs are very less as compared to other stores and u also get variety.
Good store all in one stop but not good for fresh vegetables as they are stale
They have to make parking lot also so its much better
It is an one stop solution for all Indian grocery option
Patel Brothers is a standard of the neighborhood. The prices are usually low and the selection is large. Now...if you play the politics game, Patel is the big boy in the neighborhood when it comes to owning property...and thus the means to access. Everything you can get at this spot you can find in more Mom&Pop places that are a few blocks away. Basically...do you when it comes to gathering your spices. That said Patel is a constant source of awesome food for prices that let you take a few risks and learn what you like and dont like. This is a great place to have some food fun!!!
If you’re a woman and don’t wear hijab the workers over there would stare you down until you feel uncomfortable. Some of them would even follow you around
Too crowded and small. Old building was nicer
Very nice service This is Amazing place for Indian groceries and spices. You get warm welcome and homely feeling. The store is clean and well organized. Great deals and variety of Indian groceries
New renovated. Nice
Nice place for Indian Grocery
I love the new design of Patel brothers
I would never recommend any costumer to go there.
Prices are exorbitant when compared to other smaller cities. This should be other way around considering higher population and demand
Great quality, wonderful prices and terrific employres.
Patel Bros on devon Ave is closed until march 2021. One stop shop for Indian and Pak groceries. Fresh farms next door sometimes have better produce, dry fruits and fresh fruits.
Best Indian store
Good helpful staff.
Great shop. Great collection
This store has an excellent selection of South Asian groceries. There is a good variety of fresh vegetables, spices, grains, condiments and snacks.
Great location if you live in the north side of Chicago. Not as big as the one in Skokie but good enough for basic Indian necessities.
I find almost all the things ...
Horrible now! Used to be a place where I and others go and there is no beef! But they downgraded! Ill go to the other places that cater for people in my community. Shame on Patel bro. There are alot of such places in Devon that cater for meat n beef eaters, why do they have to also? No longer my favourite place for a nice clean vegeterian experience. And many others feel the same .
Very good and very big store
It’s currently closed. Need to be more clean and hygienic.
Great selections at good prices
Best prices in Chicago for spices, legumes and oils (coconut, almond). The staff is very polite and helpful. Produce is fresh and snack bulk section is well stocked
It has a distinct smell that takes me back to India. Grocery store to fill your subcontinent needs.
