The customer service here is AMAZING!!! The rolled ice cream is really good too. I would recommend the matcha with any fruit topping. The fruit tea was honestly the most refreshing one that Ive tried recently. Thank you all so much!!! I cant wait to go back 😊

I love this tea spot in Plaza Midwood. I have gone here quite often for tea and once for ice cream. They have a happy hour special T-Th 12-3 with 25% off which is a nice deal to me. Many options and toppings to choose from. You are even able to adjust sweetness and ice levels for some.A great spot to try!

This place is amazing, they have rolled ice cream as well as boba tea drinks. Me and my friend shared a strawberry shortcake rolled ice cream which was so creamy and had a nice taste of strawberries, strawberries were fresh and the size and price was very reasonable. The staff was very helpful when recommending drinks and even let me choose my own sweetness and ice levels and the Thai Milk Tea was very nice, a perfect balance between the milk and Thai tea which was brewed very nicely. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the plaza area. Theres also a viet restaurant that is connected that I might have to try next time, but will definitely be back for sure!

Not a bad experience. It smelled so good in there because of the waffle cones and the baked fishes. I got a bubble tea that was underwhelming so it could have been my choice in drinks. I do want to come back and try the other options they have!

We love this place, and all of the vegan options they have available to us. Not many boba tea houses cater to vegans, but this one does and the selection is great! The vegan rolled ice cream is incredible too! Highly recommend!

Had a great experience. Brought the family, had five people in our party. Ordered a mix of items. Took a while to get the complete order, they call when each one was completed. We watched them make all of them very interesting process. If you don’t have a few minutes to wait while it’s prepared go somewhere else. Pricing was reasonable. It was good ice cream, the experience was great.

THEY HAVE VEGAN MILK OPTIONS (including oat milk) Many places have soy (which I stay away from personally) and Almond milk as the only dairy free options. Almond milk its not good to me in boba. It lacks the creaminess that oat milk and coconut milk have. However, Ive ordered from here MANY TIMES.I took away one star because:They dont have the bursting fruit bobaThey dont deliver with UberEats, Postmates, DoorDash...etc. although their parent company does (literally next door).

What i ordered: rolled ice cream ocha matcha + soft serve matcha on the fish cone.I really wanted to like this place. It is because i really want you guys to succeed that i write this review.2 stars for: The location is great, there is a lot of variety and the fish cone was really nice and crispy. There wasn’t a waiting line..Here is the bad part:The rolled ice was very bland. There was no sweetness and it tasted like milk with matcha powder. The worse part is that the rolled ice was not creamy, the ice cream was flaky. On my picture you can see there is a lot of gap between each roll of ice cream. I almost feel cheated because they could have fitted another roll in there. They didnt roll it properly and ended up throwing away A LOT ice cream. Final thing: My order came with a toasted marshmallow but the lady didnt toast it enough because the torch wasnt working. Get a working torch. It was lukewarm marshmallows. The marshmallows barely changed color.If you need a reference for a successful rolled ice look up below 10 ice cream in New York City.Soft serve ice cream: The fish cone was nice but the match soft serve was very watery. The lady even had to make another one because it was falling apart. My guess is that either the machine was not cold enough or the soft serve is made with too much water.Customer service: the front cashier/ desk lady was very nice; however, there is so much tension between staff. This is what happened: the front lady asked one of her coworker how long it was going to take for the fish cones to be ready. The coworker said its done. The front desk maybe didnt hear and said how long is it gonna take? and the coworker yelled back something like ITS DONE just the tone was very aggressive. The cashier was even the one that had to serve the ice cream cone for us. No one was smiling and i had the impression everybody was miserable to be there.

Wish the ice cream options came in more than one size. I had to waste over half. A small or mini would have been perfect

They have a sign in front of the cash register that says you will receive a free topping with a Yelp checkin. However, when I showed them my phone with the checkin, I was told that I dont have enough points. Yelp checkin has nothing to do with points. There is clearly some confusion with the staff between the other Five Star rewards system and Yelp checkin. I recommend better training or removing the sign. Deducted one star for this.Otherwise, Id say the drinks earned four stars. I like that you can customize sweetness and ice levels.

Really enjoyed Ocha Time. My wife and I both got drinks here with boba and it was really good. Not a lot of boba shops do Vietnamese iced coffee so I was definitely excited to try it out. Very good and the boba was very soft and tasted fresh. Will definitely come back here.

I went here Saturday with some friends and I absolutely loved it! as soon as you walked through the door, the delicious smell of treats and would hit you. The employees were really nice and one even complimented my outfit. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I didn’t exactly like the boba I ordered (since it was my first time) I wish they could add some type of sample before hand. I also ordered the S’more S’mores ice cream and it was amazing! I’m totally coming again

This place is so good! The matcha taiyaki ice cream has a very light matcha flavor, but is still delicious. I got mine with pocky and condensed milk. The taiyaki fish cone was the best part. I also tried their bubble tea, got a taro milk tea with soy and lychee jelly. You can customize your ice and sweetness levels, which is how you know a place means serious business! I highly recommend this place and will be coming back every chance I get.The only down side is that parking can be scarce, so Id recommend trying to come during less busy hours.

This place is absolutely amazing. The person serving us was professional and friendly. Easy to get to, you can park right in front of the store. The rolled ice cream is so creamy and how much you get for the price is very reasonable.. We went there because they have taiyaki and the ice cream in there is very creamy and a great flavor. They make the taiyaki right there so it is fresh. We will be going back very soon.

I love this place! I ordered Rolled Ice Cream and it tasted amazing as well as my taro matcha slush! The workers were so sweet and overall the atmosphere was great. There was so many options, but my Viet Coffee Rolled Ice Cream did NOT disappoint!! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to go to Ocha Time.

I am in love with there teas, both the milk teas and fruit teas. The boba is the right texture & the fruits with the fruit tea made the drinks look so creative & taste delicious. Customer service was amazing, staff was ready with my order & made sure I was alright and comfortable. The atmosphere was very bright & happy. As you are waiting you can watch people roll the ice cream which is very amusing. They offer vegan & also a variety of options for everyone & even the chance to build your own ice cream rolls & toppings. One of the most amazing things is the experience of eating at the place next door, Cilantro because there is just a door to exit from ocha time into and from cilantro which is great if you are craving both.

TLDR notes:* Stale food product (Pirouette wafer).* Vanilla ice cream trying to pass for another flavor.* Fingers being placed in a container prior to serving (I intercepted before it was used).-------------------------------------------I recently visited with my partner. Having found out there was a taiyaki ice cream spot in Charlotte made me ecstatic. The store had recently renovated and I waited for them to reopen.A portion of their menu was unavailable and the clerk mentioned both their taiyaki (fish shaped waffle batter cone) and matcha soft serve were unavailable, but would be the following day. No big deal. It was my main reason for visiting, but I figured Id try something else. We both picked curled ice cream.I was told they could still do matcha as curled ice cream. My mistake was not asking if it was prepared ice cream. The clerk printed labels to put on cups, and began reaching her fingers inside mine to grab it. I asked the clerk to not use the cup, in which I was looked at oddly and asked if I wanted gloves used. You can. Please dont put your fingers in the cup.I debating on if we should leave, but I didnt want to make a scene. My partner chose curled coffee ice cream. Coffee was brewed on their machine, mixed with milk, and then rolled into ice cream. I only saw the finishing touches on my dessert, which featured skewered and torched marshmallows, cut strawberries, and pastel colored mochi pieces.When I tried my dessert it tasted like vanilla ice cream dusted with matcha powder. Ive done this at home with a packet of matcha I needed for something unrelated, so this tasted exactly the same and was nothing special. My partners dessert included a very stale Pirouette wafer. The one nice thing about his dessert was how it had looked and there was actual coffee in it. Thats about it. Youre paying for the novelty of it. The rolled ice cream itself feels like if you had a slightly softed popsicle. It looks nice, but you might just want regular ice cream.We were debating on going back to try the taiyaki, but were going to pass. I cant really recommend the place.

I super excited to try this place out but was very disappointed. I never write reviews but I felt the need to review this place. The customer services is lacking by a lot, i ask for a simple request and the lady that serve me the ice cream was literally yelling at me for a request of Nutella drizzle. The ice cream was suppose to be Nutella base and it basically tasted like milk. Good concept but you guys need better customer services and train your staff how to make the ice creams correctly.

I don’t leave many reviews but definitely wanted to for this place. Menu is really confusing between the Custom Milk Tea and the Milk Tea. I asked what type of Oolong was in the Oolong milk tea as I was looking at the Oolong types listed on the menu and the worker legit said “it’s plain old oolong”....mmmk. So what’s the point again of the custom tea menu and why wasn’t it explained to me as someone who was interested in getting something specific??The ‘plain old Oolong’ tea was really weak, and the boba was cooked all the way but not sweetened at all. I also asked for the Matcha soft serve and she told me that they were out of soft serve and it would be a 20 minute wait if I wanted some cause they just emptied the machine, but it was only 7pm and they close at 9pm. Ended up getting 2 teas and it still took about 10 minutes. Pretty disappointed overall.

My first time trying Ocha Time I ordered the Taro Milk Tea at Half Sweet level and it was so sweet I almost couldn’t finish the drink. I decided to give it a second try today and the original black milk tea ordered at 25% sweet today was so bitter and unsweetened I almost couldn’t finish it. Haha.I know they’re sort of apples to oranges as far as comparison but at the end of the day I was unpleasantly surprised and underwhelmed both times. They were also out of egg pudding but didn’t tell me until after I had paid for it. My last complaint is the use of paper straws. I know it saves the turtles but they get too soggy and don’t do well with peaks and jelly. :( hopefully they do some fine tuning but with with Sharetea so close I don’t know if I’ll give it a third try.

The matcha taiyaki fish ice cream is the best! They make their taiyaki fresh and you can see it get done right in front of you. The ice cream was creamy and the pastry was delicious, crispy on the outside and chewy and soft in the inside. Definitely recommend! Charlotte needed this!

Came for the taiyaki green tea icecream. It was very good and the match flavor wasnt too strong. And the fresh made taiyaki pastry was really good too. Dont know if I can say that its worth $6 though at regular price.

I was super excited to try this place out. But was disappointed.Customer service was okay. But there was some tension between the staff. I dont know if it was because the owner was there but the air in the place was stiff.My boyfriend asked if they can do oreo cookies and cream slushie but they said no so that was a downside. Usually other places do it even though its not on a menu.When I placed an order, the cashier was wearing gloves. Took my money wearing the same gloves and made my order... I work in the food service industry and that right there is a contamination. Im surprised the owner didnt say anything about it.The Taiyaki fish ice cream was okay. The fish itself was really dry and had holes (cracking)... so the soft serve was dripping everywhere. The matcha was good and had good matcha flavor.Overall all I wouldnt go out of my way for this.

This place is great. The menu have a lot of varieties and caters to a lot of people. The main attraction here is probably the freshly made taiyaki, which is awesomely good. There are none in charlotte, or that I know off except here that serve taiyaki. Granted the service could have been better but this week was their opening week! the guy from charlotte observers wrote about them so they had an unpredictable amount of customers so I’m sure they we’re not aware of that. My suggestion is to let the heat die down a little bit and come back to enjoy them from time and time again!

Last week, it was a rainy day. Its one of those days that we just want to treat ourselves with something special. So my husband and I drove to mid-town to dine at Cilantro and Ocha Time.Once we got there and ordered our foods through the kiosk, it arrived in no time. My husband and I had the vegetarian Pho. And were shocked by how good it tastes. The flavor and aroma made our day.We then stepped into Ocha Time for an extra treat. Its a tea place right next door run by Cilantros owner. It was packed! The line was so long which reminds me of that Seinfeld episode, the Soup Nazi.Now once my husband had a taste of the Fish Icecream, his face lit up like a Christmas tree!The fish ice cream at Ocha Time has the right texture and sweetness. On top of that, the boba is second to none. He became all cheerful and said its very well worth the trip.If youre looking for a top-quality futuristic Vietnamese restaurant and boba, check out Ocha Time and Cilantro. You dont want to miss out.

I absolutely adore this place. Service was amazing considering it was their soft opening, and drinks came out pretty quickly as well. I had a huge order and everything came out perfectly. The the ratio of boba and sugar was good as well. I especially loved the taiyaki fish icecream cone, my soft serve icecream was the matcha flavor one (the best flavor at that). I will be coming again later on this weekend for more 50% off drinks! In love with this place for real

I tried the Vietnamese coffee and brown sugar boba drink and it was amazing! The boba had an amazing texture and it was chewy and not hard! the drinks were also not overly sweet which was a plus. I would definitely recommend the Brown sugar boba and Vietnamese coffee! It was super busy when I came in for their soft opening, but they still got my order out in a short time. I would definitely recommend if you love boba. They have a variety of boba like brown sugar, honey, and crystal boba. Lots of options. will definitely try the icecream next time! it looked so good!
