Second state truly is the best coffee shop in Charleston! Coffee and lattes are delicious, waffles are phenomenal (the Lox is amazing!), and the staff could not be more friendly. Overall, a great experience! Will continue to have my support!

Got the deviled egg waffle, cold brew and chai tea with milk.Waffle was great, kinda light, kinda reminded me of a bit of cornbread. Would try again.Chai tea was good. Not too sweet.Cold brew is excellent.

Second State Coffee on Ashley Hall Road in West Ashley is a great place to get quality coffee, a drink, or snack any time of the day when you need it. I really like the atmosphere here and all that they have to offer. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything you need.

Love the coffee and pastry is here, the employees are so cute and super sweet oh, try a lavender honey iced latte! You will not be disappointed!

The coffee here is excellent, they actually serve two different types of espresso which is pretty rare but much appreciated, and yes theyre very good. Broom Wagon also has a decent sized menu with waffles and toast so you can get an actual meal here too. The atmosphere inside is really nice and they have shaded outdoor seating as well. The baristas are also very friendly and and efficient at what they do.

I enjoyed the coffee. It tasted fresh and didnt have the burnt after taste like some places have. My boyfriend and I ordered espressos with mocha in them. They have plants in there which liven up the place. I enjoyed the experience.

I ordered a prosciutto and greens waffle but they were out of greens so I got a prosciutto and egg waffle and it was the best damn waffle Ive ever had. The coffee was also excellent, and the service was great. If I lived here, Id be a regular.

Second State Coffee is a super cute coffee shop, and a great place to just meet with friends, and enjoy a nice cup on a sunny afternoon. They have lots of great drinks, the staff is friendly, and they even offer outdoor seating so you can distance yourself while enjoying your cup.

Coffee and atmosphere is great! However, the prices are steep, especially for the tea ($4).

I got a pour over which was great along with a waffle with prosciutto and greens. Wasnt sure it would be a good combo but it definitely was!

Unique, modern, and carefully made espresso! This cafe is refreshing and a great spot to grab a well crafted latte or to stop for a delicious house made waffle brunch! The baristas are awesome and always up for passing conversations with their regulars and patrons. Plenty of outdoor seating (and great indoor seating when that option is back after Covid precautions). I love stopping f by this hidden gem whenever I’m in West Ashley!

It was a cold, rainy morning in West Ashley, I got up and decided to go to the nearest coffee shop, this popped up into my google maps.No regrets, I was fond with the place, it has a bright and soothing ambiance, everything seems to be spotless from the inside.. I had Lemon & Blue Berry waffle and Espresso with Milk 10oz).. The taste and the way it was served was lovely, though I would prefer to have a bit more of maple syrup on the waffle 😜. Marvelous Staff too! 👌🏼👍

Everyone is so nice, the avocado toast is killer and the coffee is great...But Ive waited 40 minutes for it. Im usually going during work hours and want to be quick, but because of the wait the last few times, I dont think Id go back.

Best local coffee shop in West Ashley. Some fun food options including a host of savory and sweet waffles in top of some of the best coffee and tea selections you can find in Charleston. Some unique specials really make the drink offerings stand out. And every single person Ive interacted with there has been beyond friendly. Its in a little out of the way nook so there are lots of regulars without it ever feeling too packed.

Last few weeks coffee tastes different and waffles are served cold, which lessens the appeal.

My husband and I like to try locally owned restaurants whenever we travel. We both love coffee so weve been to a lot of different coffee shops, but this is by far one of the absolute best weve been to (probably ever). The pour overs are amazing and the coffee has so much flavor. The staff is knowledgeable about their blends as well as general brewing processes. Im actually sad we dont live close enough to visit regularly!

Down in South Carolina for a little R&R, stumbled upon this little waffle and coffee place and it was so good I want to move here. Great food, great atmosphere, great bang for your buck. This place is highly recommended.

These guys really know their stuff and are super friendly. They have a passion for coffee and will take the time to explain what they are serving in detail. The coffee has always been top notch and the waffles are fantastic. Broom Wagon recently added a couple of outdoor picnic tables for some fresh air seating and enjoyment.

Absolutely wonderful place - like a breath of fresh air in West Ashley. My husband and I went to Broom Wagon Coffee for the first time to celebrate his birthday. We strategically chose Wednesday morning around 9:30am due to the fact that we have an 18 month old who we had to bring with us. With that being said we dont often go out and not usually to a coffee shop since often times we get looks due to the loud chatter of our toddler. When we entered it was absolutely beautiful the decor, cleanliness smell of fresh waffles and coffee was very welcoming. The menu was perfect not pages and pages of options but easy choices that you knew were going to be perfect when they came out. Everyone made us feel so welcomed and when the toast, waffles, and coffee came out each item was better than the one before. We will be visiting again and will be passing along our great experience to everyone we know in Charleston. Thank you for allowing us as a family to have an amazing breakfast for my husbands birthday.

Very good coffee. I had a decaf americano that was made to perfection. But my favorite was all of the gluten free waffles that they offer. It is a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Honestly Ive never been here but this is one of my best friends favorite spots. Im not local and they did not have a gift card option available online so I reached out. Jeremias was super helpful and made the process much easier than I expected!

I haven’t been to all of the coffee places in the area, but I have been to a few and this is by far the best coffee I have had! The avocado toast is amazing too. If you are looking for true/proper barista quality coffee you must go here! They have more food on the menu such as waffles that I look forward to trying. Great place to do some work on your laptop too if you want.

This is the spot. I had the flash chilled iced coffee which I actually prefer to cold brew - I think it’s a little more rich in flavor. I also ate the prosciutto and arugula yogurt waffle which was insane with these beautiful little crumbles of Parmesan. I also had an avocado toast on a prior visit which was nothing to shake a stick at. Delicious crusty sourdough and well seasoned avocado spread. Tomatoes were a nice touch.

I didnt give a 1 star because I feel that this issue can be fixed.Ive been meaning to stop by so when my mother flew down for a visit I brought her here. There wasnt a line and it seemed everyone was enjoying their coffee. We were rushed to order and when we asked about the waffles on the menu the young lady took it away and said, We are not serving food now. Completely understandable. My mother said it was her first time and asked what was in the waffles and the young lady said quickly a whole lot of goodness -anything else? The young lady then grabbed her purse and got ready to leave. My mother, not realizing what she was ordering, ended up with a black coffee from the pot.Customer Service is so important with small businesses. I shouldnt feel more welcomed at a Starbucks. Cest la vie.

I stopped by Broom Wagon on their grand opening day, but I originally sampled their coffee at Harolds Cabin downtown, for a special coffee tasting class, and from that point on I was a fan.The location is easy to find, but harder to see from the main road. Plenty of parking on hand (for free). Walking in, you can smell the fresh pastries, the coffee brewing, and the wonderful smells of the kitchen. I ordered a chai with milk and an avocado toast. Ive never had one before, but it looked amazing, so I thought that this was a good time to live on the edge and try something outside of my comfort zone. It was amazing. Like guacamole on bread with a roasted slice of red tomato on top.Ill definitely be back to try out more options, and encourage you all to do the same. The owners are great people, and the coffee beans are all responsibly sourced and roasted by the business. As fresh as fresh can be.

Our favorite place in West Ashley! We love coming here on Saturdays for a fun breakfast and relaxing morning. I adore the iced oat milk latte and my boyfriend loves the nitro. The waffles are fantastic every time. We are making our way through the menu and have never been anything but satisfied. Everyone here is so friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. Can’t say enough good things about Broom Wagon. Everyone needs to check it out!

Great bbq! Big servings, cool atmosphere. I ordered the sampler then added the other meats. Sausage is fantastic (but not the jalapeño sausage), brisket was the best Ive had. Ribs were cooked very well but could have used more rub. The sweet bbq sauce was very good, and Im not a sweet sauce guy. Great job! Best Ive had in KC this trip.

By far one of the best lattes I have ever had in Charleston! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is bright and clean . This is a gem for West Ashley! Unfortunately, none of toasts or food is suitable for vegans. I hope to see an option on the menu soon!

Best coffee in Charleston! BroomWagon excels in quality, atmosphere, and all the nuances of incredible coffee. Staff are incredibly talented, friendly, and have great taste in music. The batch brew is always amazing, and you can never go wrong with the nitro cold brew or a pour over. The food menu is more robust than most coffeeshops- the toppings for the toast and waffle dishes are creative and always beautifully prepared. Thank you BroomWagon for being the very best!

Great coffee, definitely invested with nice equipment and a clean atmosphere. The location is going to be tough, with no sight from Sam Rittenberg. To make matters worse the shop is further obfuscated by large trees. Always happy to have another local coffee option in the area.
