Amazing waffle place ran by an amazing couple. Loved the waffles one of the best I have had.The place is cute with powerful food and amazing service as well.We visited there on our last day in Charleston and wished if we had more time to spend here.Definitely a must visit place and must try waffles.We tried two different sets of waffles and loved both, attached pictures was a whole waffle with white chocolate, Nutella and strawberry. Amazing flavors overall .Loved every bit of our experience here

We went here every day we were in town!! It was so yummy, the waffles and coffee were delicious. We kept going back, and the owner was very personable and served us delicious food multiple days in a row 😊 cannot recommend enough, best waffles we ever had!

I didnt actually eat here, but the wife and friend did and truly loved it. Not a lot of table space, managed to get a seat. 30 seconds too late on taking the picture with the fruit waffle. The gentleman on the right made the waffles. He was great.

Walked by this place our entire trip wanting to stop in, last day as we headed out of town we stopped in for breakfast. We got the 6 minis to go and iced coffee. The owner Sergio was super friendly while we waited. He joked we could eat one each hour on the 7 hr trip home. They didn’t even last 30 minutes. Soo good!

Great tasting waffle. It didnt quite live up to Belgium for me personally though. Affordable prices and a good list of toppings. My strawberry milkshake was basically strawberry milk though so I dont recommend that one.

We have been customers since shortly after they opened in James Island and FELL in LOVE!!! Seriously, we would make the 45 minute trek there from our home justfor these beauties and it was NEVER a disappointment. We have remained loyal customers when they moved Downtown and its always a treat. Plus Sergio and his wife could not be nicer people. They are exactly what you want in a small business: they appreciate their customers, getto know them on a personal level, and have a passion for their product. I cannot rave enough! If you are in the Charleston area, you HAVE to stop in.

Waffles and drinks are amazing. The inside and outside seating are limited. Curbside parking for pick up is nice. They’re all made fresh and are great for a sweet treat.

The waffles are freshly made in front of you and so soft and moist, and topper with our own choice of fruits and toppings.I ordered just one but it was soo yum that tempted me to have one more! A perfect dessert 🥰

I spent a semester between Brussels and Leuven and was overjoyed when Sweet Belgium opened in Charleston, providing an authentic Belgian waffle experience right here at home in Charleston! I only wish there were more locations!

The owner of the shop seems to know everything about Belgian waffles and is clearly very passionate about making them. I felt like we were getting the premium waffle making experience with him behind the counter. We got the six inch, plain Belgian waffles. It was plenty of waffle for the price, and the honey and fresh strawberries were a great addition amongst many tempting topping options. The waffles were delicious and I would love to return!

I have never had a waffle like this, it was very heavy almost like a croissant in texture. It was very buttery and yeasty. Tasted delicious. We had fresh waffles made, one with salted caramel sauce, And one with maple syrup. They have a large selection of toppings to choose from. I couldnt eat the whole thing but it tasted great cold too!

Stopped by for a quick bite before continuing our walk around. Great menu items and drinks stayed for a long while and we were glad we did. Swing by if you can you wont regret it

Must Visit if you come to Charleston. I was transported back to my Belgium visit when I walked into this amazing Waffle shop. Between the smell, taste and sight of the waffles and hearing the owners speak French to each other, I was blown away by the entire experience. The owners are from Belgium so these waffles are the real deal. I had a long and delightful conversation with Sergio the owner and he couldnt have been more nice and welcoming.I was happy to support this local business and I will be coming back and telling my friends about this place for when they come to Charleston. I have walked by this place for the past three days wanting to walk in, but never had the chance. Woke up early today and finally got in there. Went with the small mix and match 6 and MY GOD those were banging!!!!!! I can’t believe I waited thst long because I should have eaten there everyday I was here!!! The line should be out the door everyday and soon it will be so make sure you get in there before you can’t!!! So damn good and great conversation with owner while I was there!!!

What a cool little shop! I was strolling down King Street and decided to try a waffle. The owner opened almost 3 years ago, and makes made to order hot waffles and doughnut style glazed waffles with interesting flavor and topping combinations. They do weddings, so consider that if you are planning on doing a waffle bar. The service was great, shop was small, so eat and go to make room for others. He also serves coffee. Definitely worth trying out if you are in the area, a satisfying dessert/snack!

Most importantly, the waffles were great. My wife and I shared a glazed and a hot. Unlike, American waffles, these waffles are a yeast based dough. Made for a different, and great, waffle. Additionally, Sergio was great and taught us about some of the different styles of waffles in Belgium while we are. Would highly recommend.

Sweet Belgium on King Street in Charleston is an excellent place to go for all things delicious waffles and other sweet items. Everything here is fresh, delicious, and well made and something that is unique and different in the area. They are well worth a visit if you want something good and tasty. I have been impressed every time I have been here.

There are no proper words to describe this WONDERFUL experience. Not only are these waffles, hands down, THE BEST WAFFLES EVER! But the owner is personable, interesting, inviting, and kind. My experience in the restaurant was more than enough to have me come back. But goodness gracious, I could LITERALLY bathe in these waffles. I could not eat them any faster if I tried. I am in town for 2 more days and will most definitely be going back somewhere between 2 and 70 more times. Keep up the amazing work! Cheers!

This was my first authentic Belgium Waffle. One of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The waffle was buttery rich but very light and airy. I would highly recommend stopping by here for dessert! Beats a cookie or ice cream!

Sergio was very friendly (bonus that hes from Belgium!) and the waffles were incredible. Hand-made and dipped right before our eyes - and when you eat them all warm and gooey, they just melt in your mouth. A must-visit when youre in Charleston!!

While the food was yummy, the service was missing alot. I couldnt bring myself to buy more in a place that they wouldnt acknowledge my presents. I watched the great service they gave people of other completions, I was very sadden by the service I received. I will not see returning.

First time ever...just went on a hunch and the best decision i could have made! This is my new staple for Charleston! I had the Build your own with Salted Carmel and bacon. JESUS was all in that! My daughter had a build your own with white chocolate and strawberries!!! YESSSSSSSS

This place truly is a gem! Hands-down THE BEST waffles! They use dough, not batter, to make the waffles so they are crispy on the outside and chewy and sweet on the inside. They have a variety of toppings for these warm waffles -- strawberries, Nutella, raspberry syrup, honey, maple syrup, bacon, sprinkles, ice cream, etc. Absolutely delicious! Since the waffles are made-to-order, you may have to wait a few minutes...but it is well worth the wait! You can also get the Wafflettes -- bite-sized warm waffle pieces topped with whatever you want all in a small container you can hold and enjoy while walking downtown.The owners, Sergio and Audrey, are so incredibly nice, friendly, and customer-focused. My family drives out here once a week to get our waffle fix!

The waffles are absolutely amazing. I stopped in while passing through Charleston once and was hooked. Since then I have ordered waffles to be deliviered to me and found they can be a nice surprise for someone. I intend on placing some more orders very soon. Even when they are shipped, the waffles are fantastic!

Stopped in, the door was open... no customers, no employees. I stood around for a couple minutes hoping someone would come out to greet me (it is Saturday, after all) but I felt super uncomfortable in a totally empty business. ☹

Fantastic waffles. Fairly nice staff. Very little room to eat in their restaurant. You’re fortunate to get a seat and it’s a VERY narrow entry where you stand watching them make your food and if anyone is trying to get by you has to squeeze by you. No fun. With all that said, if it doesn’t bother you, these waffles are incredible...

We spent a few years in Belgium and enjoyed their waffles. Getting them from a vendor or the window walk thru and strolling around was GREAT. Went down town for waffles and it was GREAT to enjoy the experience again. The six hour round trip drive will be made again! Not what time get from Waffle House or can make at home. Exceptional place with exceptional food! I recommend the made-to-order, hot waffles. On our past visit, we got the powdered sugar, dark chocolate drizzle, and whipped cream waffles, but no matter the toppings you choose, the waffle is always piping hot and melts in your mouth. The service is also phenomenal. I can’t reccommend trying Sweet Belgium enough!

I had no idea what I was missing... Delicious true Belgian waffles, expertly made by the Belgian owner. I ordered a classic one with fresh fruit. My sister told me not to bring any of the 3 glazed ones back, but of course I did. And she absolutely enjoyed the coconut one.
