Was not allowed to order because I had a dog with me. I understand not allowing dogs inside but as I was being escorted out I asked how I could order and the manager or owner told me to go find a friend who could order for me. There is no way to order online and they would not let me order outside the building after they kicked me out. If you have a dog, look elsewhere. There are plenty of dog friendly coffee shops like Sightsee shop!
This is a great little cafe! My wife and I stopped in to grab some breakfast and coffee to go before heading back home from Charleston. The cafe is so cute and has a great vibe!We ordered iced vanilla lavender lattes with almond milk. Mine was a little too sweet for my liking, so next time Id go without. But my wife loves her sweet and had no complaints! The espresso was smooth and on point tho!The bagel egg breakfast sandwich was delicious and fresh. They also sell little air plants which we had to scoop up.Service is excellent.Prices are reasonable for what you get.Great little neighborhood spot!
Inconsistent Hours, theres a 50% chance they are closed during their operating hours, which is very frustrating when you travel there and keep trying to give them a chance and they dont seem to realize they are inconveniencing their customers and the community/neighborhood, which is why almost all the locals in the Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood dont go here anymore. Bad Business practices here... Its a running joke in the community now. They do however have great baked goods and a cool atmosphere (which is why Im giving 2 stars not 1), but the coffee quality and taste is not good anymore. I would recommend going to Babas, Sightsee, or go to Bad Bunnies when it opens soon just right down the street. Thank god!
*Edited to say that the businesss response to this review makes it clear how they do business(I dont have time to fabricate stories about local coffee shops, but nice try). Mine is not the only review citing rude members of their staff. I hope this exchange is helpful to those who, like me, use reviews to choose which businesses they support.*Food and drinks were good. Tables were not always being cleaned between diners. Batista was very kind, HOWEVER I will not return here due to the behavior of the man I suspect owns the business. I visited today with my husband and young daughter, we have a stroller and were repeatedly ordered to move during our one hour visit here. We were not in anyones way, I had been sure of that but this man took issue with us and ultimately ruined our experience. Young families exist in this world and deserve to have breakfast in a local coffee shop as much as anyone else! I find it unbelievable that he would make paying customers who just wanted a nice breakfast feel so unwelcome.
Great breakfast sandwich and good coffeeHighly recommend
Not much of a brunch guy but this was the best bagel I had ever had. Not from the area but if Im ever there again Ill make it a point to stop by.
I am obsessed with this place in every way! When you walk in, the decor is on point. So well done and completely inviting. The owner is a gem. Has such a fabulous personality and his staff are incredible. Now on to the food and beverage. The FRESH MADE ginger & mint tea is a MUST. The avocado toast has all the balances of creamy, crunchy, savory, and salt from those pickled onions. Do get a slice of their baked goods - we did the banana bread. The frosting is something I could eat all day. Pit stop, day stop, stay stop. Go.go.go!!!
Nice place. Limited menu. Was experiencing some shortages.
I was not excited when my kids told me we are going to get veggie tacos at a coffee shop for lunch. Was I wrong! The place is incredible!1.Veggie tacos are phenomenal!I usually don’t even like tacos, but here the combination of vegetables and sauce was so flavorful,I ordered another plate to split with my son.2.The place is the cleanest eatery I’ve been to in years. And my standards are high.During the pandemic they were wiping the tables, chairs, doors, etc non-stop.Usually you can tell how clean the place is by how clean the bathroom is.This one is not only sparkling clean, but also very cute.People are upset about paper plates and plastic forks-guys, this is pandemic times! Its not their choice!3.Cafe is very cozy and inviting, without being pretentious. They have several coffee table books for sale, house plants for sale, nice art on the walls. The real(not your fake ones) house plants on several tables in the back behind the building.4.Service is prompt, polite, efficient.Prices are reasonable. My son and his wife are regulars here, and for good reason.Definitely recommend it for a light meal and/or great coffee with delicious almond cake.
Clean, Bright and Lively. The actual location is really nice and seems like it was just remodeled. When I came on a Saturday at 9:30am there was a good amount of customers but not to the point where its overwhelming. Reason I am giving 3 stars and not 4 or even 5 is a combination of the following factors. 1. No Wi-Fi. This could be purely intentional as to discourage idling or working due to COVID if so an explanation would be nice. 2. Lack of working electric plugs some were working but I has to play musical chairs and while funny kinda embarrassed me that I had to move around so much hahah. 3. The prices; a Mocha Latte with Oat-milk and a Granola bowl came close to $20 with tip. I will say that they didnt overload the latte with sugar which was nice. Overall, I want to be as objective as possible hope this helps :)
BEST cup of coffee Ive had, not only in Charleston, but anywhere! After ordering, my drink came out almost immediately, and I was able to make myself comfortable in their quaint courtyard. Overall, the modern and vivacious atmosphere was a fantastic backdrop for the great conversations I had with the knowledgable and accommodating baristas. I had the pleasure of trying the egg tacos along with my coffee, which practically blew me away with the stylish presentation and piquant flavors. If I could give 132 Spring a 6-star review, I absolutely would. I look forward to returning to my new go-to coffee shop! Cheers!
Excellent! Bagel sandwiches were delicious, and oat milk latte was perfect. Beautiful space, staff was great. Would definitely eat here again.
Fantastic food, outstanding service and delicious coffee. We had veggie tacos - an absolute must have, great balance of flavors with just the right spice note; salmon bagel - lots of toppings and so delicious; almond cake - fresh, sweet, yummy; chocolate cake - not to sweet, just the right amount of richness- perfect with a cup of coffee.Coffee shop is clean with sanitizers and reminders everywhere. We came here after my brother and sister in law and my moms recommendations and dont regret our decision to check it out. The only thing I regret is that my commute from Denver is to far to frequent this place. We will centainly come back next time we are in Charleston.
Great coffe. Even greater attitude .I asked if the bagel for the salmon bagel could be on the side because of my wifes allergies and that did not go over well or could not possibly be done. Very weird. As I waited for my drink I wanted to add honey to it and I was given attitude. There was a mix up with the order where my sandwich, it was not put in and the whole staff seemed offended. You guys have a great thing going hope you dont lose it because of your egos.
I ordered 16 bacon egg and cheese for our bachelor party and they were incredible. Highly recommend
Wonderful little place! I tried an açai bowl for the first time this morning and was blown away with how delicious is was. I dont think I could make myself a breakfast that hit the spot better than that if I tried. The ambience was lovely there and there are such cute little plants there! Wonderful!
Beautiful interior design, aesthetically pleasing, clean and with upscale feel. We didnt try the food but the presentation looked very well done with attention to detail, and the servers were polite. The coffee drinks were ok. It is located a few min drive from the more central nicer parts of the city and the Manhattan prices of some items are not exactly justifiable ($6 kambucha among other things).
Good coffee and delicious pastries! 2 stars though because the staff are surprisingly rude. They act annoyed with basic questions and routine interactions. Maybe they are tired of tourists and enforcing masks outside... (not even the CDC recommends that anymore). I would go back for the food and drinks, but I just wish they would be more kind and gracious.
Such a beautiful space filled with cool and funky decor! The staff were so nice, food came out fast, and the coffee was smooth. I had the Belgian Waffle and it had the perfect amount of sweet, often times restaurants will make waffles overly sweet, but this place didn’t! Additionally, the space felt very clean, which I like knowing. Would go back!
My family and I enjoyed this place so much! There are a few Coffeeshops around this neighbourhood, perfect for Coffee lovers and people who enjoy a nice atmosphere. Will definitely come back when in Charleston!
Excellent cold brew and lattés 5/5. Service is 50/50 leading to 3/5 review, avoid the bald guy with tattoo sleeves he is incredibly rude.
Very standoff ish, too much milk in the chai, cold brew tasted only like vanilla syrup. one size only for hot and iced. no sense of hustle, moving like sloths. will not come again.
Sophia was the cutest! Loved her outfit and vibe💗💗
Ive been here 3 days in a row and the hours say theyre open and we get there and its definitely not open. What are the hours?
Coffee is good and staff is friendly. The hours of operation is what earned them 3 stars. They just changed hours and do not open until 8:30am and are closed on Monday. I’m not a small business guru, but this seems like the worst time to open and day of the week to close being that you’re a coffee shop.
Great coffee and food! The staff and owners are so nice and the location is incredibly beautiful. My favorite cold brew in Charleston by far (get it with the foam)
Tried to customize the bagel (I have food allergies) and they basically acted like I was burning the building down. The cashier plus the two people she asked was extremely rude. Definitely do not recommend this place. Food might be good but staff was horrible.
Easter Weekend in Charleston, we stayed in an AirBnB a few blocks from this nice coffee place. We loved everything about it. but the best part was the coffee and decor. A coffeeshop that sells plants and great Books, great idea.
Would have loved to have given this a five star review, but this is the second time I’ve gone during business hours (9:00am) and they were closed.
They’ve mastered incorporating all the additional covid precautions while still offering a relaxed vibe. The coffee was great, my bagel was amazing and the service was fast.
Really excellent cappuccino.
Great food and coffee, even better atmosphere. Try the Smoked Salmon Bagel, it will not disappoint.
Excellent quality coffee
Great coffee, great food, great people! Everything is wonderful here !
It is ok..pricey but good..
The coffee is okay, a bit pricey. The vibe of the place is great though.
The food was not bad but for the price and amount you get its very sad. The serves was very horrible and not relational at all. It felt like they didnt want people to be in restaurant.
Love love this fabulous space! Everyone is so friendly and the food is delicious. If you are into a cool European vibe with great artwork and oat milk lattes you need to try this place. Try the homemade bacon, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich or Salmon bagel 😃 My husband loves the vegetable tacos and our daughter is a huge fan of their waffles!
It was good, but they don’t have WiFi. I really just came and bought my coffee to get access to WiFi. Would be nice if they gave access during slow hours like now. Or have a sign that alerts that you don’t have WiFi before people buy a coffee.
My partner and I visited this location because of its proximity to the hostel we were staying in at the time. The food is in dire need of seasoning. The food was quite bland and honestly not worth the price.
If you don’t know you won’t know.... This the best spot in town. Great food, coffee, and vibes. Cool stuff to observe and great service.
SO happy this place is here! Great variety of menu choices and all homemade pastries are delicious and cooked daily by one of the owners. Super sunny place with lots of window seats, great atmosphere. The 2 owners are exceptional and make this place stand out. They are really friendly and Ive seen them asking customers about their preferences - a great sign for a new place. I look forward to being a regular!
Excellent breakfast & coffee!! I will return when in town.
Atmosphere was wonderful! Adorable little coffee shop! We walked past here on Saturday night and decided to try it out Sunday morning. Best decision! Coffee was great and so was the food. Very clean neat little place. Next time we come to town we will go here again.
I absolutely adore this space as well as the owners! The design of the shop is so fun and the coffee is delicious! I highly recommend the ginger mint tea. If I could give 132 Spring 6 stars I would
Clean, classic, modern vibes. They serve Springbok coffee which is always a win, and the avocado toast is perfect. A nice spot have a quiet meeting or a relaxed morning.
Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff! The coffee was absolutely beyond. Amazing latté art and the best avocado toast in town! Attention to detail is just very!
Love this place!!! The food is awesome and the staff and owner are so nice!!! Went here for mother’s day and we felt right at home! Best food with the best atmosphere!!! I wish y’all a ton of success!!!
Nice staff, but commonly closed during the hours it says to be open
Nice place. Wifey got coffee. We would of ate but where meeting someone around corner. Smelt great though they serve breakfast to 11:30!!! We would definitely be going back when we have time. Super nice and very clean and warm. Thank you.
Horrendous experience!!! Opens at 8:30 on Saturday, and we arrived at 8:40. We placed our order told it would be awhile as the chef is busy preparing for the day. Ordered an egg cheese $ bacon on English muffin, & cappuccino & the bill was $20!! They charged an extra $1.10 for the English muffin that was included in the item ordered. When asked about the extra charge, they said “sometimes we charge extra”. The owner was upset we asked about the extra charge. Walk on by this place, DO NOT EAT HERE. The gold stars down for this place must have either been paid to do so. EPIC FAIL
Delicious coffee and breakfast. Very cool atmosphere. 👍
Love this place! Now my favorite breakfast spot in Charleston. The breakfast burrito is amazing and the place has a great atmosphere
Absolutely fabulous atmosphere, food, and service. The staff was so friendly and had great recommendations. The decor was cozy and artistic. Great place!
The perfect trifecta of delicious food, warm hospitality, and a bright airy space that encompasses an underlying sophistication and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The proprietors know food well and make everything from scratch with quality ingredients. The coffee is also some of the best in town! 132 Spring is my new favorite cafe!
I live right down the street, and I was so excited to hear this was opening up! Some friends and I stopped by the other morning, and I got a cold brew - which was so good! I met one of the owners, and he was genuinely interested in my opinion and how the coffee was. I was so impressed by that because that has rarely happened to me in Charleston. The atmosphere was so cool, and its the perfect place to get away and work on stuff without a ton of distractions. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 start is because there isnt wifi or beer/wine, but I heard theyre in the process of getting.
The food is absolutely exquisite. You can tell the owners and employees care about the entirety of the experience. The atmosphere is welcoming for all! Cant reccomend enough.
As a med student surviving almost entirely coffee, I regretfully admit that I would be excited about any new coffee shop in my neighborhood or on my walk to school. Suffice it to say I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of 132 Spring for that reason alone. However, I was wrong in thinking 132 would just be a coffee shop. It is so much more.Part boutique, part breakfast and lunch spot, part coffee shop, and part bakery, 132 Spring offers more than just coffee, and despite the multipurposed use of the space, the focus is very clear: deliver a unique personal experience every time you walk in the door. From the Swedish cakes to the latte my girlfriend said was the best shes had in Charleston to the incredible breakfast burrito, the proprietors put care, time, and a personal touch into everything they do. A lady in front of me once asked if the biscuits on display were real because they looked too perfect to which the reply was Well arent they supposed to look like that?Needless to say, I hope 132 becomes a staple of the local coffee and food scene, and I hope they can be an example to everyone else that self expression through your work leads to incredible things. 10/10 would recommend.
The perfect mix of everything. Decor is well thought out and warm. Coffee and food are excellent and the owners are so nice and genuine.
Spent $15 on a sandwich and chips. Was not filling and extremely over priced. The collection of art books was neat but won’t be stoping in here for lunch.
Amazing food great people, tasty coffee.
Excellent cappuccino! Their bakery goods are wonderful & The nitro Brew is an absolute must try.
First time here today, had the Spring Salad with Mahi Filet. I have to say it was truly the best salad I ever had. perfect dressing and the nuts and berries combination gave it that extra special. The 16 dollars were definitely worth it. Ill be back guys! BTW love the books.
Check out this great neighborhood place for breakfast or lunch; you won’t be disappointed. It’s easy to tell they only use the freshest ingredients and produce.
Google hours says open came Thursday 10am its closed. Sign says closes at 2 pm.
Still trying to justify why I just paid 10 dollars for a stale bagel and a bai. Way over priced!
Very nicely renovated coffee/book shop in Cannonborough/Elliottborough neighborhood in downtown Charleston. We had a wonderful light breakfast at 132 Spring. The service was quick and the staff very pleasant. The food quality is top notch!A great addition to the neighborhood!
HORRIBLE! I wish I could give it negative stars. We went on a Saturday when they opened. They said the cook wasn’t ready and we would need to wait. Then they over charged each of us. The manager was beyond rude to us and his employees. Literally the worst experience ever
Clean, spacious, and trendy spot for some computer work and a light lunch.
Nice place to have coffee and breakfast. Love the book selection!
Good food, onions were hot..no burritos from menu
As an afficianado of breakfast tacos and burritos, I can confidently say, THEY MAKE THE BEST IVE EVER HAD!!!!
Bad food and rude service.
Cake was great and homemade, Their Swedish almond cake is my fav. I had a Ginger-Mint Tea for the first time in my life and it was not my last time.
What a unique, sophisticated and delicious place. A must place to eat and take a look of the merchandise 👌
The food is very high quality and the service is super friendly... What more could a girl ask for
The shop has a great vibe and very friendly staff! The coffee and lunch were wonderful!
Umm umm good. Great place for all day long breakfast.
Amazing service . Amazing Vibe! Spectacular Art and books!Best cofffee in Charleston.
Very good food, great atmosphere and quality service!
Closed at 12 on Tuesday?
Cozy little cafe where you can have a good cup of coffee and work on laptop. Looks like a movie scene.
Love the owners and staff, the ambience, and the food and coffee are great
GOOD ATMOSPHERE WITH TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.This is a relatively new cafe near MUSC campus in Charleston and me and my colleagues decided to give it a try for a little morning studying. Saw this sign out front that sounded like an amazing deal! A breakfast burrito or BEC sandwich was with a cold brew or ginger mint tea for $11.5 [$8 for the burrito or BEC and $3.5 for the drinks]. When I went to the counter to order three burritos, the waiter rang in $36 plus tax. When asked about the deal, I was told I was wrong and that the burrito was $12 each and only the BEC was $8. I told him about the sign out front and what it said and he replied again with a simple “no, you’re wrong.” I was a little confused but continued thinking I must have misread the deal on their sign. After the meal we gathered our things and left to realize that we were indeed right so decided to go back and inform the wait staff, as well as the manager who was present for the entire previous interaction, to let them know what their sign said and that they should really think about bringing it inside as it’s really misleading to the customers. Rather than apologize for the confusion and tell us they would quickly fix the issue or try to remedy the situation with a complimentary coffee or anything of that nature, the entire staff decided to become very defensive, INCLUDING THE MANAGER, telling us how we were wrong and “they know what they wrote” and how “that isn’t what it says” and how “we know how to read” and that we were wrong.I would not and will not recommend a single friend or colleague to go check this place out and recommend anyone wanting a pleasant experience does the same. You would think a new restaurant in Charleston would be a little more accommodating to the customer base they are trying to appeal to!
Second time here, This time I had the food and it was just as good as the coffee. This place has me a regular customer!
Trendy coffee shop with delicious food and solid coffee
Had a horrible experience because of overbearing owners but whoever made the food is a genius
Best breakfast, lunch and coffee in town!
Best food, people, and vibe!!
The egg tacos are delicious 👌👌👌
