I took my 2004 miata to Gorbys with intentions of replacing the entire clutch assembly. I explained to them that the clutch was going out and needed to be replaced. I also asked them to charge the battery and look at a sticky caliper. I dropped the vehicle off on Friday and was told I would receive a call back before the end of the day. I didnt. Monday I finally called asking questions and they stated that they were just then pulling the vehicle in but couldnt find anything wrong with it. The person I spoke with over the phone told me that he was going to drive it for the hell of it but still couldnt replicate what I explained. I told them at this point I wanted to pick my vehicle up. When I arrived I was charge for a vehicle diagnostic test in which I never asked for. I knew bring in the vehicle that it needed a clutch. A diagnostic check does not test a clutch. I do no recommend bringing your vehicle here unless it is an easy fix that can be identified by pulling codes.Edit response 3/29I have called the company for over a week now being told I would get a call back from the owner and have not received one yet. Yes I went in and explained what was going on with the vehicle....I also stated in person that I understand that the clutch will need to be replaced. While calling the shop I was told by charlie that my vehicle was driven by him for 45 min and could not replicate the issue in which I said was there. Also Charlie stated that he drove the car through all 5 gears to make sure even though the car isnt a 5 speed which again makes me question as to what was done with my vehicle. Charlie let me know that 3 different people drove my vehicle and that they out gas in my car in which I did not authorize. To be specific they put regular gas in a vehicle that strictly state premium only..........with no notification to the customer. When I picked up the vehicle I was told that the only thing they could hear was a bit of free spinning from the pilot bearing..... this is part of the issue that I stated. 1 day after leaving this shop the clutch in my vehicle exploded but they couldnt find anything. I understand that there was no way to see that but when I left the shop it was doing the exact same thing as when I brought it there. Dont tell a customer you drove 45 min Id you didnt. Just be truthful.

Gorbys was a life saver when we quickly needed help over the holiday weekend with a leak when we needed to get home. Gorbys had us fixed up and good to go the same day that we dropped our car off, charged us a fair price, and was transparent through the whole process. My husband and I were so thankful for their quick service and highly recommend them!

Dave quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem with my 88 K5 Blazer that I thought needed a transmission rebuild. He saved me an incredible amount of money (could have done a rebuild and I wouldnt have been any the wiser.) He performed the repair quickly and at a cost I was incredibly happy with. He is a very honest, hard working small business owner that I will recommend to everyone I meet who needs transmission work. Dave was referred to me by a friend who is very knowledgeable about everything automotive and he was spot on! Dave is the best in my book! I feel you can trust his shop to be fair, honest and trustworthy.

My vehicle was towed here on a recommendation from AAA based on what I thought was a totaled transmission. Shane, the owner, not only reassured me that the repairs were not as serious as I thought, but took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening with my car, and what would be needed to fix it. The repairs were done quickly, and the pricing was extremely fair. I will definately bring my vehicle back here in the future.

Feel I was very overcharged and when I called the dealer (my car was already at Gorbys) to compare prices I found the dealer prices cheaper. Once I picked up my car it lasted 5 minutes on the road and had to take back to them to redo the work. Total repair time was over a month.

Highly recommended. Took my car there for a bad shaking when accelerating and shifting gears. they couldnt find anything wrong with the transmission. They spent some extra time going over the car and located a completely different problem, which they easily fixed. Highly recommended!

I will only bring my truck to Gorbys when it needs serviced. Shane the owner is friendly and professional. They work hard to get you in and out as quickly as possible even on short notice. The prices are far and the quality of work is high.

This shop deserves my praise. Its hard to find a honest place to get a transmission fixed and this place fits the bill. Very clean and professional, very accurate diagnose of my cars shifting issues and reasonably priced to repair my car.
