I think Stop & Shop is very good, because things there are cheaper than Star Market and whole foods. But stop and shop has very little of non gmo foods. I know they natures promise poultry. They also have natures promise Vegetables in a package.
Good branch! Their fried chicken is extraordinary tasty! Maybe one of the best! Gold crispy yummy yummy chicken! I always try to pick it up for dinner after grocery shopping. But very competitive : )
The lady work behind customer service counter was always rude impatient not willing to help. I witnessed this morning that she was yelling at an elderly woman who has problems using her digital coupon due to the Stop & Shop Website was down. I really think the company need to have a serious conversation with that lady.
I just use their parking lot. Five stars
Big store. But, couldnt find items on some shevles
Customer service station is very good and on the couple occasions I bought some produce that wasn’t great they immediately took it back for exchange with no hassle at all. There are always good deals to be had with your Stop and Shop card.Only small complaint: sometimes the bags provided don’t have handles. Brookline is a walking town, we need handles to carry our groceries home!
Quick self check-out lines, good customer service station, and a surprisingly wide selection though it seems smaller than most Stop & Shop stores I have been in. Shelves are always stocked neatly and thoroughly, making for easy view of items clearly marked with price. Overall a nice, clean store.
The driving range here is great place to practice spring, summer, and fall.
I always love coming here because I consistently find exactly what I’m looking for and the products are always really great. It’s nice because as someone who doesn’t eat meat there’s a huge selection of alternative plant based “meat” (ie chick’n nuggets, beef scramble, sausage, etc). It’s the only store in Brookline that I know that has such a wide variety of products and different variants
Great price on some good-looking blueberries today! (July 23).(Phone almost dead or Id share a pic - next time)
Management Needs To Humble Themselves A Bit It Isnt The Customers Fault That They Gotta Work A Lil Harder Because Some of Their Employees Called Out. Terrible Customer service From The Top??? Unacceptable.
Rarely have bags with handles and constant obnoxiously long lines. Just terrible. I’m not going there anymore even though it’s close to my house.
Good store. Plenty of parking. Clean and easy to access. Standard grocery store prices and good selection of goods. Come here if you need some grocery shopping
I am debating on driving a longer distance to find a better grocery store. Its just. Not very good in produce.
Good grocery store with reasonable prices and fresh produce.
Outside of the cashiers, this store treats the people, who shop there really bad at times
Just lovely. The grocery store to get what you need. Heads up on the far left cashier - the network seems a bit slow.... But the service is great!
I’ve been going to this place for more than a year and I have rarely seen the oat milk section have any milk available. Is it not ringing a bell that your customers want more than what you stock?
About your average Stop n Shop. I curate their weekly deals and usually have a plan when I go shopping there, so getting in and out is relatively easy. Saturday and Sunday mornings, early mornings, are pretty quiet, and I feel safe shopping in the early mornings rather that during the afternoon or evening. This store almost always has clean wipes for carts, and self-service lanes so you can ring-up your own groceries. The can/bottle return machine here was working as of early Nov. 2020.This stores prices are equatable to other stopnshops outside the metro area. There are often deals on dairy and chicken most weeks, and store-brand foods are significantly cheaper in price but equatable in taste.
Very good bakery department
People are waiting in line outside, respecting social distancing. Being careful with the amount of people allowed inside the shop. Feels safe!
It Stoppies..always good!
Great Shopping Experience! Very Helpful staff, Very neat and organized. Brookline Stop and Shop Rules! Just started shopping back here, after 4 years!I should have never stopped shopping here in the first place!
Manager must be asleep at work.Employees lack training, knowledge of products, personal skills. If so hadn’t been coming here for a year, I’d see Zero customer service and the grocery baggers intentionally smash the bread, chips and vegetables.
The people who work here are great, the produce is of good quality, and they offer many specials that I dont often find in other S&S locations. Its a bit of an older location, but it has a lot of heart.
I thought the first time I saw brown meat left on the shelves, It was going to be removed. Every single time I am in there, ITS ALWAYS BROWN. ALWAYS.
Relatively small and crowded, with limited choices and really high prices. Some staff wore masks below their noses, and a couple of them nearly knocked me over instead of letting me get by (I walk with a cane). Only advantage to me is that I can get there on trolley plus bus.
Always very clean and staff are very nice. Child friendly - they have dedicated parking for cars with infants
It was easy to find everything and no long lines.
Probably one of the worst Stop & Shop stores that Ive seen. While it used to be a little better. Lately it stinks! I would give it 2.5 stars if I could, but in this case, it gets a half star extra because of convenience. Although it definitely doesnt deserve it.
Good selections, good sales and no crowds or long lines. Easy to shop and keep physical distance. These all matter more, right now, than checking off everything on my shopping list. So, this Stop & Shop satisfies.
Wonderful place to do your groceries.
Omgoodness. The manager there is so nice! I had misplaced some money and he talked me through my anxiety. That was nice of him. He didnt have to help. He was cute too!! 😍
Clean. Everyone masked well. Food fresh. Could use larger organic section for fruit and veggies though Covid. Lovely staff.
Its a stop and shop. Good variety though
The one in Brookline good. Not as good as a super Stop and Shop but better than the malden stop and shop.
Nice store, friendly Staff, convenient an on bus line an one block from Greenline trolleys
This where we shop weekly. Things are reproducibly available every week if you shop on Saturday end of the day. Good selection of products. Good discount on gas from their gas station and scrubadub nearby. Parking is always available and cashiers are not very crowded. Overall, its a good option for one stop restock for home/car.
Great layout, easy to navigate, and shelves were fully stocked. Parking lot was big enough that Id feel comfortable driving here for my groceries.
Always good,, with everything I look for
Its an ok store
Very nice employees and very good service.
They sell rancid meat. I called about it and the guy said, “ sorry to hear that. Thanks for letting us know.” Then the call ended. I’m calling the health department about it. Also, I’ve heard three employees use profanity while my baby was with me.
The chicken I bought at this Stop & Shop was rancid several days before the sell by date. When I went to return it today, I was told that there were no returns being processed at this location. The employee reluctantly reimbursed me the cost of the meat in cash instead of by card, and didnt bother to reimburse me the tax. There was no apology made for inconvenience or rotten meat. I was just told again that future returns would not be processed. Rude.
Small tight parking lot
Great deals, clean and friendly
Its fine. Just, you know... fine.
Average size supermarket that I shop here all the time. The lines are usually fast and I came today and it was very slow (cuz of COVID-19). One employee got impatient with me because I inserted my card for too long which was frustrating but you can find everything your looking for here. Prices are not bad.
The people who work at this store are super nice. They are not stiff and they dont treat you like royalty. Instead, they treat you like a good neighbor.I always enjoy shopping here.
Not the biggest stop & shop but has everything you need and usually has plenty of parking!
One of the best places to go to in brookline for food shopping the staff is fantastic there, especially everyone at the deli counter. Every time I go there, they are always willing to go the extra mile with my requests for cutting my deli meats which I appreciate thank you for that.
Great stop and shop store. Very convenient with ample parking. Employees are very helpful and friendly.
Convenient and decent prices. Plenty of parking. Great for the essentials
Used to be my go-to in college but the quality of the shopping experience has declined. Even pre-COVID, items were frequently out of stock (including essential items on my weekly list, like soy milk) and the lack of cashiers meant the lines were always very long to check out, even at the self check-out. Trader Joes in Coolidge Corner, Star Market in Washington Square, and Wegmans in Newton are all much nicer places to shop.
This place is excellent it has great parking and its very clean and has everything you need . If youre in that area and need something I definitely suggest stopping there.
Angel at the register is very good with customers. A great employee. Very friendly with the 4 people in front of me. 😎...
It was a great store employee very friendly
Quick, convenient, has what I need. Friendly staff
I love coming here. I only shop here, they have a small selection when it comes to the produce but they have wide variety of other option, the staff is amazing and very helpful.
The only change Id recommend for many of our S/S locations is the possibility of touchscreens to search the items were looking for (i.e. Baking items and/or Ethnic food) since I love cooking my favorite healthy meals since my Springboard cooking Club in Spring 15 (i.e. Smoked Paprika Salmon w/ sauteed vegetables on SAT 12/28/19). Yum!
Good service and staff.
Best grocery store! Excellent service, lot of fresh foods. Clean, and well organized.
I am updating this review to upgrade my earlier review regarding the produce department. I came in Sunday night (8-9-2020 at 745 p.m.) and I can say that the produce department looked VERY GOOD! Maybe they read my earlier review from the week before and decided to bring their A game. lol. But, yes, the produce department was very well stocked in all areas and I was very impressed. Keep up the great work guys. Recently my shopping experience here has been below average. The shelves of the of the Haagen Dazs ice cream, are usually close to being empty, whenever it is on sale. The ice cream section of the freezer case is generally poorly stocked. This has been the case since I began shopping here 2.5 years ago. The grocery shelves are not always stocked well and the selection could be better. But, specifically, I wanted to mention the produce and meat departments. They are below standard in many ways. The produce department is always dirty and poorly maintained. Water is usually on the floor, which is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen. Their navel oranges are usually greenish, damaged and of very low quality. The produce manager should be asked to undergo remedial training to help him/her develop the knowledge on how to effectively run a produce department. I suggest they follow the Lakeland, Florida based Publix Supermarkets business model, on how to successfully and profitably run a produce department. The meat department is almost as irresponsibly run as the produce department is. Their meat selection is limited and they do not have a butcher to handle special orders. All of their steaks, etc., come pre-cut from the warehouse, according to a gentleman I spoke with, who works in the meat department. Their packaged meat case is also poorly stocked. That is wholly unacceptable for a major retail supermarket chain, such as Stop and Shop, to not have an on-site butcher-meat cutter to handle customers special order needs. The COVID-19 situation is NOT and excuse for the failings of this Stop and Shop. I have been to dozens super markets in the area and NONE of them has had the inadequacies of this Stop and Shop. Brookline is one of the wealthiest and most highly educated cities in America, yet, this Stop and Shop does a below average job in providing the residents here with an excellent shopping experience. If things improve here I will certainly update this review to reflect that.
They got vegan yogurt in quarts for less than $5. Lots of other things i wanted too. Amazing. Updated to 5 stars!
Lovely staff and lots of choice. Good prices too.
There was one cashier in the store. It was ridiculous. Saturday around 11am. Not good customer service at all
Everything ok Employees mask is on all clear
I usually shop here on my break. Very convenient location. Most visits I find what I am looking for. However, dont be in a hurry to get out of there. Because, there are not enough cashiers. But there are plenty of self-check out stations, if you dont mind.
Best super grocery store! Excellent service, lot of fresh foods. Clean, organized, high tech checkout. Available parking.
Fairly big and well stocked grocery store. Large selection of fresh produce. Kosher aisle, gluten free and organic options, fresh baked goods including challah. Self check out and a few regular check out lanes.Space itself is depressing, so is the staff.
Its got what we need for food at pretty good prices, but its no frills for sure. They dont sell alcohol. The cashier woman who works in the evenings is really sweet. She helped me pick out pasta sauce and gives me coupons that I dont know about, which is awesome. They have a nearby gas station with a good discount if you use the Stop and Shop card.
I called the store to make sure that Western Union is open because there is always problem with it. It was. I come in 30 minutes later, customer desk is delighted to relate that its down. Ok, Im not even surprised at this. Let me grub some carbonated water, because how hard it can be right? Wrong they are out of it, and they dont have it in their stock room. Mismanagement and unprofessionalism at its best.
When I first moved to Boston, I really hated the Stop & Shop. I thought it was ridiculous the low quality of produce relative the price and the absence of a fishmarket. However, I have come to learn that urban grocery stores are not very good. Therefore, this Stop & Shop does a remarkable job with in its context
Very friendly stuff and good prices. They also have the gas reward if you have the card from them. Easy to park and normally you dont wait forever to pay for you groceries.I like the deli department, and this guy Frank, is always in a good mood preparing your request.
I go here often because it is most convenient. They are fine for most items, but slow to stock up during busy periods. Be sure to check the sell by dates on purchased goods. Twice I have accidentally bought expired food.
Brookline ma
Supermarket with freshest veggies in the whole area.
Stop & Shop is tops. For the 40 years Ive been near here.
Now this particular Stop & Shop is one of My FAVORITES. You can find a Variety of things and for Reasonable Prices. I Recommend this Store to MANY. Yesss Go Check It Out. Youll Be VERY PLEASED. 😉
Its an old Stop and Shop. It sells most of what you need, but is kind of blah. Also watch out for pricing errors. I see them pretty regularly, and last year, they told me that to honor the correct price, I would have to come back the next day, which is totally illegal.
Steady place. Decent sales. Consistently clean.
Nice people staff and customers to chat with
Great for quick visit for few things. They got the 5 stars as they even have infant parking.
Small selection, especially in fresh fruit & vegetables. It can be 9 am and no fresh bread. Not very friendly cashiers or customer service desk. It gets 3 stars only because its works for basic necessities in a pinch.
Better stocked than the Star Market and less limited than Trader Joes. This location has its issues. The lines can be slow. The parking is a bit chaotic (but theres plenty of parking...which is a miracle this close to Boston). Im glad this market still exists, even if thats in large part because there arent many affordable and accessible grocery options in Brookline.
Its great
Bread is good. Everything else depends on the mood of the staff. Their inventory can be pretty unreliable. Ok place to quickly grab some groceries, but far below the regional average as far as grocery stores go.
Good selection and customer service
Small parking is limited good neighbor hood stop shop
Good store good collection. Well maintained and good prices as well.
Not the freshest produce Many items out of stock
Its pretty decent
I LOVE STOP SHOP THE EMPLOYEES ARE EVERY NICE THEY ALWAYS HELP ME TO ANSWERED ANY QUESTIONS
This has most needs for the neighborhood, and is my preferred store over Trader Joes by far! Its small though so it lacks variety, leaving me driving to the larger one in Brighton frequently, not really their fault but it is the reason i didnt rate them as highly. If youre not picky, or need specialty items for special diets then youre probably fine. Their kosher section is excellent!
Excellent array of fresh fruit and vegetables. Large array of fresh flowers. Lots of kosher products. Low prices. Every time I go, I get value for my money.
ALMOST BACK TO NORMAL GETTING MORE ITEMS BACK EVERY WEEK AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY CHOICE FOR FOOD SHOPPING
