I had an awesome experience here. Ive had a Volvo for over 3 years and the place Ive been taking it to has been overcharging me and basically saying I need a new car (its the dealership I bought it from). Today was my first time going to University and the people there are great and the prices are workable! They charged a 10th of what the other place wanted to charge me just for labor!! They know what theyre doing and made me feel so comfortable taking my car there!! Thank you University!!
Great place to take your auto to. Very fair and thorough with work. Paul stands behind his work.
Owner lets un certified mechanic work on expensive vehicles, shop is dirty and in organized and was threatened by employee CJ and owner paul said it was okay for him to do that he had a reason which is very unproffesional to the point Im seeing this llc
Very professional and friendly from the moment you enter the building to when your car is ready. You can trust this company and know your getting the best service here for your car.
Paul and his Mom are the best! Will work with you. He serviced my BMW the 5 years I owned it. After he gives you an estimate, call the dealer. Same work at dealer almost twice as much.
Paul looked at our Cayenne and gave us a very reasonable recommendation regarding the issues we were having. Other shops would have just kept throwing parts at it.
Paul is a God send... hes very, very good at what he does... Hes personable, honest, reliable, and knowledgeable. My nephew and I were stranded in St Louis on our way out to Denver on a Friday and on a strict schedule. In addition, we were in an old car that really hadnt been on the road in many years. I called University and Paul said they were swamped but given our predictament, he said hed be willing to help us out of he could. We had the car towed there and Paul proceeded to get to work. He found a shorted wire and a few other issues that he fixed. We were able to continue on the road that day thanks to Pauls dedication and perseverance... He simply would not say hey, thats I best I can do, sorry and move on to the next customer. He stayed focused on our car until he had it running again and then proceeded to explain to me each of the issues, how he repaired them and what I needed to do when I got back home. Lastly, he didnt try to price gouge me, which he could very easily have done, but rather he charged me a very reasonable (too reasonable) price for the parts and labor and we were back on the road to Denver! Would also like to mention that Mary was also extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to wait inside on a blazing hot day and she provided us with cool drinks and pleasant conversation. This is one top notch operation...and family...in my book! Need more places like this in NJ! As I was leaving I said to my nephew I could work for this guy
Great place best mechanics around very friendly
I am fortunate to deal with Paul from University Foreign Car. Paul is vey knowledgeable and has a genuine interest in helping his customers. I hope to do business with Paul for many years to come.
I learned more in this visit to a mechanic than all other visits combined. I took my Volvo here today after going to a different mechanic (Autos of Europe) because I just did a long distance move and wanted to make sure the car was in good shape after the trip despite it having been serviced prior. The first place quoted me 2500 DOLLARS worth of repairs all at once for a car not even worth that much. Keep in mind there was no glaring reason I took the car in in the first place, I was just trying to be proactive! I know I am a young woman and we get taken advantage of regularly because of the uncommonness of extensive vehicle literacy, but it literally sounded like the man wanted me to throw all of my money at him over the phone and only back-peddled after my father called to talk to him. With University Foreign Car, I only walked away with a new battery because my car died this morning when I tried to leave for the shop (of all days, right?), as the battery was much older than I thought it was. I told them exactly what Autos of Europe wanted me to replace and they went through every item on that list, including the checklist THEY made, and explained which things were more worn than others and when they expected them to need servicing.I spoke with the mechanic, his wife and his mother, who owns the shop, for quite a while (it was a slower day than normal so I lucked out), and it was so educating. It turns out they even taught classes to women at a local college to educate them on basic vehicle knowledge! As long as I am in the St. Louis area I am not going anywhere else. There is a reason this family owned shop has been in business for 50 years. A big thanks to them for treating me the way they would want to be treated.
Saved me over 1,000 on my car repair. Great service and great staff. Finally a reliable auto mechanic.
Paul and his mom are good honest hard working people. I’ve know them 20 plus years we gotten out of touch but I found them about a year ago they give great services on my vehicle I know I can trust Paul with his recommendation. I’m 1500 mi away and any problem the wife or kids have with there cars they know I’ll tell them to take it to University Foreign cars. They have been a big Blessing to me not having to worry or get upset with things going wrong. Keep up the zoos work Honestly Goes a Long Way in my book.
Trustworthy, skilled professionals who truly care about providing quality and value at a fair price.
Im very impressed with the service I received on yesterday. I felt very welcomed and the service was exceptional. I enjoyed the time spent there. Interesting family stories!!😘Paul- Thank you, Thank you!!!St louis proud💝
Weve been going to university for almost 15 years. Our cars have always been serviced here and we wouldnt go anywhere else. With our Volvos in most cases they use genuine Volvo parts but not the dealer mark up.
Family owned. They really know how to take care of your car and reasonable prices Great service😁😁
I sent Business Purposes to University Foreign Car in order for them to inspect a Volvo I purchased from BP on eBay after he told me the car had been vandalized since the auction end. Apparently the drivers side window had been smashed. When I connected with Paul at University he could not have been more kind and understanding, agreeing to look over the car for a VERY reasonable charge. I called him as a complete stranger from Philadelphia, mind you.Once the inspection was complete I received conflicting reports from University and Business Purposes about the car and its issues. The vandalized window was yet a bigger door issue that Paul did not feel confident he could solve and fix to the degree he likes to complete work. He also informed me that the car needed basic brake and suspension work and had been re-sprayed. I had much more confidence in what I was hearing from Paul rather than the mixed bag of used car sale BS from Business PurposesNeedless to say both University and I were not interested in doing business with Business Purposes. It is a shame he feels the need to throw mud at an upstanding auto repair business with a plethora of great reviews. I recommend you read on and take business purposes review with a grain of salt.
This shop has saved me literally thousands of dollars over the last few months. My wife and I both own volvos and this shop does the same service for significantly less money than the dealer. Honest and hardworking people, highly recommend them!
I used to hear many nice things about this place. Mechanics are super experienced and that is a positive plus yet, I had a simple shattered drivers window that they refused to do the work on because as (Paul-owner or manager) says it looks like too much going on in the door. Honestly if a place is repairing engine internals, suspension, and transmissions on foreign cars, youd think a window would be a cake walk for them. To then quote me over 2k worth of work but over pricing brakes at around $200 for $40 parts...I understand markups but geese.Again the other mechanics are SUPER awesome and nice, but Paul, as described to me as a great nice honest guy, was very rude towards me and I even overheard him yelling to other customers. I own a business as well so I understand having a bad day and maybe it was an off day but this was by far one of the worst experiences and Ive done great business with many of shops and I have never encountered that type of treatment. But again, the other employees were super nice and intellectual indeed.
Mechanics may be hardworking and knowledgeable but this place incredibly unorganized.Repairs felt rushed and were not thorough probably due to time management issues.I also scheduled a visit a week in advance, showed up and was shamed for not making an appointment...At that time, I was also told that they have large contacts with multiple dealers so time is limited for “small” guys like me.Cant recommend.
Fantastic, honest service. We were traveling cross country when the check engine light of our Volvo came on (oh no! 😱), and wanted to stop immediately to check on it when it popped on in St. Louis. Paul and his Mom helped us right away, and let us know the issue was not only covered under warranty by Volvo, but also not pressing, which let us be on our way back to Virginia without us needing to wait to repair it. In other words, a travelers dream come true. Couldnt recommend University Auto more! If they were in Virginia, wed have a new mechanic!Thank you!!!
Took my Volvo XC90 in recently; air conditioner blower gave up the ghost. Paul was fair and efficient. I was happy with the outcome. Ill be back.
Been taking my cars here for years. Paul is an outstanding mechanic!
Repaired transmission on my Volvo for less than half of cost of replacement, which is what 2 other shops claimed needed to be done. Running great!
Fantastic work, though a bit hostile to clients who ask too many questions.
When no body help in your car problem this is the right place!!!
The only place I trust is University Foreign Car.
They know there Volvos!
The mechanics here are people you can trust. Period.
Cause The Hamilton Family knows more about European automobiles than most Europeans.
