Jennah and various other people were able to convince me to not burn down (exaggeration, no banks were threatened in the making of this review) any other banks (that shall not be mentioned here, but trying to explain to a banker of bank that shall not be named that Iceland is a real country and I am not being scammed by paying a pet import fee is a problem, said bank not mentioning that they had an international fee-free credit card at the beginnings of a move overseas and discontinuing the card without giving a heads up that I should apply for it before they do that is a bigger issue) and were able to get me set up and enough info that I was able to set up a new account and get a card that arrived before I left the country (in under a week). That is very helpful at this point and I am glad I let them convince me!

Unexpectedly we stumbled upon this hybrid bank/credit card/Cafe and loved it. Not only did we get half price coffee and tea but the wifi is free and the are meeting rooms and clean restrooms too! If I lived here, Id hang out here all the time. Its a match that fits together with a corner building that has a nice view of Pearl Street. Try the hibiscus iced tea for a caffeine free drink. Free water too.

Lovely people, amazing discounted coffee for capital one card holders. Sometimes they have giveaways and always helpful with banking questions. Its a good idea and cool concept to offer space and bring in customers and prospect ones. I like their happy hour specials and the fact that they make banking fun again and offer a great deal of advice over Java

Made my day in downtown Boulder even more special. First I bought a nice beverage and received 50% off with my Capital One card. As I was waiting for my drink, Spencer initiated a great conversation with my family, who are visiting from out of town. He was very polite and nice. The location also composts their paper towels which is very environmentally friendly. The drinks were also delicious. I will be returning to this location or one of their other locations.

Popped in here the other day for a quick coffee. They were giving out swag bags and there was even a free coffee card in there, so mine was free! I got the Maple Pumpkin Oat Milk Latte and I think it was gone in like 2 min, I couldn’t put it down! It’s all I can think about now. They also gave of free bags of coffee. I don’t know of any other cafe or bank that does that! The location is great too, right on Pearl St in the middle of everything, so it’s convenient to get to. Staff was really friendly & welcoming.

This is my bank to build credit, over the years I have accumulated plenty of extremely dissatisfactory experiences and I am finally done and here to try to deter other people from wasting their time, they put everything away early religiously so you cant get anything but plain coffee the last hour of the day, they dont keep their items in stock and the people working the counter are more often than not, rude to begin with. If you have a banking issue you will literally be rewarded a free coffee (sometimes 5)for the bs you are about to deal with, translating people talking with such a thick indian/saudi accent you can barely understand which even if you could would barely matter in the first place because their systems are trash and unorganized. Sky the banker is my favorite part about this organization, she makes the place seem habitable and is the only reason you dont get one star from me. Also forgot to mention what inspired me to finally make a review was I went in and was welcomed by the bankers whom immediately went back to their silly conversation, and no one was even at the counter to prepare anything whatsoever, after about a solid minute or two of waiting looking around acting like someone might help, I left

Honestly might be my new favorite coffee shop in Boulder for working. Free cup of drip coffee every Monday or Friday if you bring a sustainable mug?? Half off any drink if you’re a capital one card holder?? Tons of plugs and different spots to work too. Once you get past the Capital One on the outside, corporate America blah blah, you step into this super functional space that is built for working. Glad I came in, sweet spot.

My Mocha Latte tasted just as I would want it to - creamy and natural tasting. I find most Mocha feels artificial to me. My friends Javiva looked better then any frappuccino. Barista friendly, service is great. We found a private room with comfy furniture where we could enjoy our drinks. Definitely where I want to get my coffee - and half price for Capital One customers.

Update 2021: still love this place and stop in when Im in town. Got 4 drinks for $4.10 with their BOGO promo and capital one card💪 (please bring one to Kansas City!)Friendly, helpful Capital One staff, great place for chilling, banking and caffeinating. Tried the Black Tie per baristas recommendation. It was exactly what I needed. Moderately sweet, plenty strong. With a Capital One card, drinks are half off. There are also student promos (essentially a happy hour).

While perusing Pearl Street Mall, I happen upon this location and was quite pleased with the service. The employees are friendly and polite and will happily fulfill your coffee/tea order with ease. While waiting for your order to be finished there is many different surveys that you can fill out by writing the answer on a Post-it note and sticking it up on a board. The bank employees are friendly and smile as you enter. Every Monday and Friday they have all day happy hour, all you have to do is bring in your own favorite drink mug or Thermos and they will fill it up for free!

I dont know where to complain about this but never...I MEAN NEVER use cap one. Im late on payments simply because I havent been able to log into my account. My phone number has changed and I am completely logged out. Ive called cap one support multiple times and i get some one who is barely understandable. After she tells me to wait just a moment multiple times. I get hung up on, after literally waiting on hold for over an hour. If I went to this cafe, they would hand me an ipad and tell me to reset my password and i would end up having to call anyway.CAp one is such a slimy company. Theyre better of making coffee.

This place is great; the staff on both the bank and cafe sides are very friendly and helpful. Jenna and Julie have been helpful since the first time I walked in (and everyone since), plus Martine is fantastic with customers. This is a great place to do some work, attend their events, and get banking help. I moved my accounts over from a bank I’ve worked with since childhood to Capital One because of my experience here in Boulder.

The staff are great. They are very helpful, but they are not empowered to do anything that you cant do yourself on the website. Its great for people that need help with online banking. Its completely useless for someone that needs help with anything that cant be done on the website. You still have to call customer service for that stuff. Capital one needs to have actual banking staff at the cafe with access to make changes. Even just one would help.

Pros: All Capital One Cafes have the Eco Happy Hour the whole day on Mon and Fri, but this one, in addition to the Eco, has the cardholder HH on Mon 9:00/10:00 and 16:00/17:00 — you get any drink if you have a Capital One card, and not even any need to bring a cup.I wish their other Cafes would have the same deal (the one in Denver, and both in Austin, dont) — they promote financial literacy and saving through these comic book characters in all of their cafes as of 2018, yet the only benefit you get as a cardholder is 50% off, which simply encourages unnecessary spending, and is effectively not really a benefit at all! So, big thanks for 100% off two hours a week!Cons: They should probably have more outlets, though — none of the window seating has any — all the electrical outlets are covered by blank panels.

50% off for capital one cardholders!Located on the strip of the very famous Pearl Street in Boulder, we decided to check this place out for the new concept of banking and drinking coffee together.Inside is very spacious. Coffee orders are placed to and served by the same person even on a weekend so expect a bit of a wait. I ordered a regular size iced coffee and it was A-OK. Not a fan of starbucks myself but starbucks iced coffee tastes better than this. The banking is right inside the coffee shop towards back of it. Its a cool concept to bring in but I feel like if they improve the quality of their coffee, theyll get more business than it has (which is very average)OH, THE BATHROOM THO! SO CHIC!

CapitalOne is a large corporate bank like Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc., all of which occupies a large footprint of the downtown Boulder area, but that’s where the similarity ends. The CapitalOne Cafe in partnership with Peet’s Coffee is a bank and cafe, or a cafe and then bank, rolled up into one. Upon entering the CapitalOne Cafe, nothing resembles that of a traditional banking institution. The space is very inviting with natural light shining through large windows and large open floor plan with high ceilings. On any given day, and like most coffee shops, you’re bound to see entrepreneurs, contractors, students, locals, city/county workers, and more. I’m observant, but also frequent the cafe to have more insight than most. The CapitalOne ambassadors are very friendly, welcoming, and down-to-earth; they are not pretentious nor have the look or attitude of a traditional banker. Although I have yet to use their banking services, I have seem them in action from afar. They are very attentive with each and every customer they engage with. Many times, I see them offering their customers on a complimentary beverage while they work to trouble shoot issues or open accounts at the customer’s own insistence. CapitalOne ambassadors have the best job in the world where it seems like their only job is to engage and network with the public. This isn’t where the differences end. When they aren’t serving their walk-in customers in the cafe, the very same ambassadors engage businesses and non-profit organizations throughout Boulder County by volunteering their time, money and use of their space for events. For example, I recently learned that they actively volunteer months of their time with the Thorne Nature Experience providing resources and volunteering hours to help children reconnect with nature including a $10,000 contribution to Thorne’s efforts. They also have been involved with Out Boulder and recently contributed $50,000 to help cap off their Capital Funding/Campaign. They are also engaged with the University of Colorado and the Boulder Chamber of Commerce.Perks: CapitalOne provides free coffee or tea for what’s known as Eco Happy Hour. They serve free coffee and tea (all day on Mondays and Fridays) when you bring in your own reusable cup/tumbler to encourage saving resources. As a holder of a CapitalOne credit card or bank card, all beverages are discounted by 50% (half-off). They also often celebrate interesting moments throughout the year. For example, on Fall Equinox, they served a medley of candies one day and then delicious savory soups the very next day. They used to host Waffle Wednesdays where they served Leige waffles to the community the first Wednesday of each month. They even celebrated National Hot Dog Day once by offering all beef and vegetarian hot dog varieties to all their customers. All these events have been free to the public.CapitalOne Cafe seems like one huge cost center to me…a huge marketing arm of CapitalOne or concept store, especially with many locations throughout the U.S. For example, CapitalOne Cafe ambassadors are not incentivized to sell any of their products. It behooves me to see how they stay in a prime location in Boulder without making any effort to bring in business or generate revenue. It’s definitely a different business model; seems like they’re playing the long game in attracting and retaining customer in a very saturated industry. After 3 years, I still hear angsty rumblings from long time Boulder locals after CapitalOne Cafe displaced a small local business called Boulder Cafe due to them not being able to afford increases in their lease terms. It’s understandable but also inevitable…no fault of CapitalOne’s to take over that space. Unfortunately a large number of businesses on Pearl Street have closed shop for the very same reason. Those stuck and angered in the past will never appreciate living in the present nor see what’s possible with change.

Probably a great cafe, but lacking in basic bank functions. This location cannot provide a cashiers check, it feels like the entire location is a sales facility and cannot provide the services that youd expect from a bank. I would understand if this was one of many locations, but as the only branch in all of Boulder/Louisville/Lafayette/Broomfield I am super disappointed that its a cafe with bank salespeople and not an actual bank.

This is the way a banking relationship should be, in a relaxing mode. Able to drink some good Peets Coffee (1/2 off for Members), and the best meeting areas, and private rooms available for anyone. Great idea. Missing key details. They should write on their website and make advertising clear... you cant actually bank at this bank. It is just a cafe with an ATM. There are a million other places to go and not feel obligated to buy a mediocre coffee. (also to add to that, my cheap cup just split in half and my coffee ironically spilled all over the counter).Honestly, I am disappointed to say, I dont think I will ever go back. This is crazy! You cant actually deposit money its just an ATM with paid staff standing around selling coffee.Gotta say- A great ploy for Capitalone to try to draw more people in to get their money out of their pocket and into CapitalOnes, but I recommend heading a block over to get a local coffee in any direction. You can have a more quaint, and probably more confidential place to bank. After this experience which wasted a better part of my day, I might even head back to Bank of America. As a disclaimer... I will fully say some of this was my fault. I didnt have a debit card on me, honestly didnt think I would need it because they bill this as a bank and cafe. Just be aware and find a better cafe and you can do your checking on any banks app at any cafe.Very poor marketing Capitalone! You missed the boat on this one.
