A wonderful little cafe and roaster. Friendly staff. Local vibes and I had a few conversations with other guests. Really fun place. Buy a bag of their coffee and get a free drink. They also have a coffee bag recycle box which is amazing! Definitely check them out.

Great little coffee shop and the Baristawas very friendly. I love the meaning behind their name as it is all about inclusivity. They have a local artist who creates t-shirts for them based on the topography of the regions where their co-op coffee is grown. Such a great mission and great espresso on top of it. Delicious blueberry lemon muffins provided by Spark (Boulder bakery). Ill be back next time Im in town.

Best place to buy coffee in Boulder! Their coffee selection varies from Guatemala to Brazil. I’ve tried the Ethiopia and Mexico ones, highly recommend both of them. You get a free drink with every purchase of a bag of coffee and I suggest their Mocha. Their baristas are super sweet, knowledgeable and definitely make this place worth coming back to, time and time again!

I legitimately didnt know what to expect when I walked in there. They were very basic and didnt have any flavors for their coffee but its because they absolutely dont need it. Its one of the best cups of coffee (well, it was a latte lol) Ive had in a long time

Visiting Boulder, and I stopped by to purchase a gift card for a family members birthday. The barista was so kind, chatted for a bit, and I was surprised when the barista gave me a free drink with my purchase! Just what I needed. So glad that they only allow 2 people in the entry way at a time during the pandemic. Makes for a very comfortable experience.

Ampersand coffee and its people are the best of the best. I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years and it never disappoints. My friends and I are iced latte snobs and consider Ampersand’s to be one of the best you’ll find. So much so, that when we go to other coffee shops we say “okay it was good, but was it Ampersand good?” This coffee is worth going out of your way for. Attend a cupping if that becomes possible again, too!

Got the Iced Mocha coffee. Would recommend, no bitter after taste. The Barista Kylie was super friendly and provided great customer service. Will be coming back.

An absolute coffee gem tucked away in the Gunbarrel area of Boulder. Selfishly, I’m happy their location is not as widely known as it should be given the very high quality of their in-house roasted coffee beans. You can’t go wrong whether you get something as simple as their morning drip coffee options, or a more personal pour over Chemex or Kalita experience. They always seem to be experimenting with different cold brew variations, which is a personal favorite of mine given the many hot sunny days we have here. If you prefer espresso drinks they absolutely got you covered on that end too. Not only do they provide a great coffee drinking experience, but the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to answer my questions or elaborate on flavor profiles of different beans. Ampersand has even done some cupping events where you can really enhance your coffee drinking knowledge. The layout of the shop is clean and modern, and a perfect place to unwind or get some work done in a mellow and quiet atmosphere. I highly recommend this coffee shop to everyone and anyone looking for more than just a caffeine pick-me-up, but a flavorful coffee experience.

I read their website and was told they roast their own coffee once a week. I bought a bag of Sumatra and it was so nasty and acidic that I had to throw the whole bag out because it was undrinkable!! Sumatra is normally a dark rich coffee bean, and freshly roasted beans are usually oily and shiny in appearance. These beans were very light brown in color, and bone dry and chalking looking....as if they were LONG past their expiration date! And they tasted that way too!!! It was totally horrible and a waste of money, a complete rip off, and I do NOT recommend Ampersand for anyone who wants fresh coffee. Its not a business I trust at all.

Ampersand sources awesome coffee and seems to care about the farms they partner with. I exclusively buy my coffee for home here and have never had a bad batch. And of course its about as fresh as you can get. When you buy a bag they give you a free pour. I always get the cold brew; its wonderful! The staff is lovely too! Oh, and you can bring your pup inside!

Secret Gem in boulder. While we were visiting Boulder we stumbled across the coffee shop. The staff was courteous and the coffee was out of this world! What a great story once you realize the commitment of their owner to the fair trade pricing, environmental initiatives and womens empowerment. I will be ordering my coffee from there on-line in the future!

One of the better roasters in Boulder. I rank them up there with Dragonfly and BoxCar. Very friendly staff and wonderful coffee. They are a bit tucked away but well worth the trip. You can find them at Lucky’s market among other places.

Ampersand is so lovely! Their espresso is so tasty and keeps me energized for the entire day. I recommend their Mocha with a almond milk— I promise you won’t be disappointed. My family and friends love to go here when they visit! If you love a good, bold roast, Ampersand is your place!

We used to live in Seattle and this little shop competes with the best of them. Super friendly staff and fantastic coffee, roasted and brewed to perfection. Last time I was in there they said they support women owned coffee plantations... can’t remember the details but they’re clearly purpose driven in their supply chain, which I love. I recommend checking them out.

Amazing! I generally like a lot of syrups/flavorings in my coffees because they’re generally burnt, but I took a chance and ordered a standard latte and it was delicious. The espresso wasn’t burned and it tasted so good! And it’s not completely overpriced like some coffee houses.

Theyre open!! The cappuccino was spot on and the nitro cold brew is amazing. I just found my new favorite coffee spot.

Overall this place has a clean modern look. Upon entering, you can see the coffee roasting machine they use. Its always nice to have that transparency as it shows that the company cares about how they look both in the front and in the back of the house. Space is a little limited. You have 4 tables with 2 being bench seatings and the 2 other tables having two chairs. You also have the bar style seating which has a small table to place just your drinks. This place is meant to be more of a grab a coffee and go type of style and less so for people who wish to work and stay at a coffee shop. Free WiFi is provided, but it wasnt exactly fast. The food choices is limited with at the time only one a couple of muffins and macaroons. Drinks seemed appropriately priced. It was nice that they offered a tasting flights for their single origin espressos. I also overheard that they used 4 shots as a standard for all 16oz drinks, so beware if youre not looking for that extra caffeine. Overall it seems like a nice addition for Gunbarrel.
