I visit this location everytime Im in Bloomington, IN. I enjoy their giant sugar cookies, cinnamon rolls, & drinks. This trip I had the white chocolate zombie and the Frankenstein chai latte. Both were delicious & the service was excellent!!!

The white chocolate zombie is great. But $8 a drink is expensive..UPDATE: I messed up an order and they remade it for free, and let me keep the wrong item. That was nice of them.

Soma is one of my favorite cafe in Bloomington! They have multiple locations in town including one near Sample Gate. This location is perfect for music school students who’s seeking some fresh after hours of practicing. The cafe doesn’t have seats inside currently but has some outdoor seating. They also have a few parking spots available.If you’d like to try some special flavor, don’t miss the Razz-Ma-Tazz (Rasberry +dark chocolate latte)! (Option to add cream on the top for ice one)They also sell reusable straws, get one here if you’re beverage lover like me but don’t wanna feel guilty to produce waste!

Great local coffee haunt with good coffee a diverse range of espresso drinks and nice staff. Usually busy.

Love the Dr Ds but with plan water instead sparkling when it is made properly. My daughter loves the Lewinsky hot drink.

I’m a big fan of bubble teas. Soma has a great tasting green tea bubble tea. I’ve had it a couple of times already. The second time, it was a bit watery, but the taste was good as usual.

Always pleasant employees, and a clean interior. Simple menu with great ingredients. A great go-to.

The new sitting room is spacious and cozy. Many different options to study or to gather with a group of friends.

I got the peanut butter cupo joe and my wife got a fresh juice made from carrot apple and celery. Both were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The cashier asked about our morning and when I mentioned walking dogs he gave us some cups of whipped cream for the doggos :)

I’ve been here a few times. The coffee tastes burnt to me, so I only get pastries from there now. Some of the pastries are amazing, but I do think over priced. My big complaint about this place though is the staff. Not friendly, and always feel like I’m inconveniencing/annoying them by being there. A few weeks ago there was a guy at the register and I had to repeat my order multiple times because he couldn’t hear me with my mask on. He just kept snapping at me saying “What?!” Could be a decent human and say “sorry could you repeat that.” Then today I walk up to order and the cashier just stared at me. No hello or what can I get you. Just stared at me until I said what I wanted. Maybe hire more pleasant staff, or have the ones you do have watch a video on customer service.

I love this lil coffee shop! Delicious specialty drinks, great regular (and decaf) coffee, and an always friendly staff. Its a wonderful place to grab a cup of Joe and catch up with a friend. Nice music + chatter in the background, but never too loud. I was PUMPED when the Hillside & Henderson location opened; its just a block away from our apartment! I cant wait to visit them again.

Appreciate the outdoor seating and parking, and theyve done a lot to make the indoor area bigger. If youre looking to treat yourself, try the honey lavender latte.

My favorite local place for a good smoothie

The flavored lattes are delicious. I also enjoy the many unique flavors, especially the Lewinsky and the Oahu. There always seem to be a couple seasonal flavors, as well.The atmosphere is inviting, and the recent renovation highlights that even more.

Their honey lavender latte is to die for. I only get it as a treat though because the small size is almost $5.

The drinks here are so sweet this place doesnt even deserve the name of coffee its more like liquid diabetes way better off to go with Starbucks or somewhere else The espresso is so weak that you cant even tell theres coffee in the espresso drinks

Ive only ever had burnt coffee & lattes here. Unfortunately, every time I go, its money down the drain. Im not sure if its because theyre not cleaning their machines, but my experiences have been unfortunate with respect to the coffee and espresso quality, to say the least.

It’s a great place for morning coffee run and a little snack. Food is ok. Drink is good. Place isn’t big, not the ideal place to sit down and work.

This Soma has a really nice setup. If youre wanting to get a drink and do some homework or chat with a friend, there is a side room specifically for customers to use. Soma is quaint, naturally lit, and consistently gets me my drink quickly.

I like their coffee, but the Hillside location is too small for single people to be occupying booths for hours. Maybe in the summer it can be better, more seating, but for now, to go there means no place to sit.

I always choose Soma over Starbucks. I like supporting locally owned establishments and they never disappoint. The coffee and the people are always nice!

Fact: the pumpkin spice lattes are SO much better here than at 🌟bucks... Like this is what they are SUPPOSED to taste like. Could it be because of their homemade punkin whipped cream?? I dont know,...

Excellent Latte, friendly and quick service

Bright setting, nice workers. Had the drip coffee and it was just right. Had blueberry scone. Real blueberries and fresh but too soft, more like a muffin than a biscuit like scone in my book but tasty.

I never thought Id get into the juice bar scene, but the staff here makes really tasty and healthy juice blends, plus theyve got really good whole bean coffee.

Really great local coffee chain with a variety of choices. Their seasonal coffee is delectable as well. Overall a must do if youre a visitor to Bloomington and wanting coffee

Im SO excited to find that they sell Laughing Planet burritos, hot and ready to go! As good as the original Soma and in a great location if you work on the east side of campus.

Their latte is amazing! Nice place to study when the WiFi works, sometimes it doesnt.

They used to have a quiet room, but they recently tore the wall down and now everyone is subjected to their canned music which plays too loudly. This is ableist and disturbs people with sensory processing disorder and autism. Every time I go there I have to ask someone to turn the music down, only to have someone else turn it back up ten minutes later. Distasteful experience.

Great drinks, has the best specialty coffees of any other place in town. Most times the baristas are very friendly. Gets crowded at certain times of day due to the college students though.

One of the better coffee shops in Bloomington. The coffee is great, the staff is friendly, and the service is usually fairly quick. My only complaint is with the availability of comfortable seating.

Beverages are as same as other soma but the pacific soma has very good place to study room that student can consciously focus in n their study!

The coffee shop that thinks their a star, and just wants your bucks! Yea dont go there. This place is awesome! Not to mention his staff. They are first class. Blackbeard the hooks will be in so deep! You will never want to cheat!.... also the muffins should come with a warning label. If you try any one of these. It will be somthing you will alwzys be thinking of. Theyre amazingly amazing!

The Soma Coffeehouse is easily my favorite coffee cafe in bloomington. It has a Bloomingtonoid feel to it and they offer just about anything you need. Also has vegan baked goods to offer. 20oz black coffee here is nearly cheaper than an 8oz at starbucks and actually has some taste to the coffee. =)

Terrible experience. Im from out of town and had heard good things but was sadly disappointed. When I walked in the atmosphere was dead. Every employee looked like they hated their job, and when I tried engaging with one and ask them how their day is going they muttered a monotone Good and then returned back to what they were doing. If I go back I wont be to this location.

Generally decent, but have had a few wrong orders lately. Be prepared to wait quite some time for your order as things move slow. Rather inconsistent as the employee revolving door spins quite fast, and seemingly so due to management/ownership from many accounts gathered over a long while living here in Btown.

Great Chai Latte (the fresh brewed kind) and comfy seating. Quiet place to study and chill in peace.

This visit was 100%, without a doubt, the worst coffee-buying experience I have ever had. After spending far beyond what should be asked for a lukewarm drink made with underextracted espresso, I found hair in it. All this after repeating my order three times to the cashier, who seemed annoyed that I interrupted the story her friend in the kitchen was telling.

This a great little coffee shop offering three or four varieties of drip, several espresso drinks, as well as tea and smoothies. Some of my favorite items include the Bubble Teas with pearls of boba which are gummy balls of tapioca. They also have cold brew coffee on draft which is very strong and will keep you going.The space is small but with enough seating and counter options for a quick visit unless its full of students in between classes. Prices are very reasonable and workers are very appreciative of tips. You would have thought my 20% on a $3 boba tea was the highlight of her day.

Worst place that you can get coffee from, I tried one of their spatiality drinks and it was below average cause I expected something better so I wanted to give it another try so I got mocha for the second time and it was one of the worst mocha drinks I have ever tasted. Its just a waste of money and time

This is one of two Somas in town. This location is perfect if youre a music student or you have a class in Sycamore Hall. Be sure to try the featured espressos in your drink.

Both Kirkwood and East 3rd locations are so heckin cute ! chill atmosphere despite a rather busy coffee shop. ive had an iced mocha from there which was delish ! i also tried the strawberry fields smoothie, and i loved it ! and i dont even really care for smoothies ! great experiences so far, definitely plan to stop by again.
