Salesman was informative and helpful. I did not feel pressured into an upsell. They have a good selection of appliances and prices are good, will go again for the next time we need it.

Paid for a refrigerator on 3/18/21 for a 3/24 delivery date. Week after week of excuses for not getting the refrigerator (next week and everything arrived damaged and not on shipment). We needed a fridge! Went back to store on 4/21 and they told us they had a different brand/fridge that could be delivered on 4/22, so we paid the $150 higher price and got the fridge. Both freezer and fridge doors had scratches. (In retrospect, I believe we were sold a scratch and dent item without being told for full price.) So we started the process of reordering doors (this is done through Springfield and the arrival is 6-10 WEEKS from reorder date). On 6/11/21, they come to install the new doors, but theyre WHITE and the fridge is black. They reorder again (with another 6-10 week turnaround time). On 8/13/21 they again came to install those new doors; this time theyre scratched! At this point (five months in), we want to be done and would rather just be compensated. They offered $75. Not sufficient. Then they came up to their maximum offer of $80. No thanks. So were waiting for yet another reorder. Its been a very frustrating 5+ months of so so many phone calls.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff that gave us personalized attention and practical advice on availability and reliability. We knew what we were looking for and that getting the fridge in white would be harder. We dont know when the fridge will actually come available but supply problems do not reflect on their service. I had a problem with my dryer which was purchased from DVD Appliance World. After contacting them, a service person was scheduled and came out and after assessing the problem, parts were ordered. Once parts were received, another service call was scheduled and the dryer was repaired in a timely fashion. I was very impressed with Steve, the service person, who explained the problem completely and the steps in getting it repaired. Was also extremely impressed as well with DVD’s communication system as to when they would be there, which included the person’s name who would be coming and when he would be there, down to even being able to track where he was in route and when he arrived at my house! Great service!!!
They are very easy to work with and also knowledgeable. My fridge went out and they actually offered to take the one I had purchased off the floor and deliver it so I had a fridge as soon as possible as it was going to be a few days before they got in the new one. I will definitely be back.
Friendly and knowledgeable. I was even advised to a smaller freezer since the salesman knew what best fit my needs. Saved me lots of money!! And, even tho my choice was not in their location, it was at their location in Springfield. It was delivered the next day! What great service!!!

Terrible customer service. I had a technician come out on 4/23/21 to my house and inspect my microwave as it was sparking when ran. He told me what he thought was wrong, took my check and left. This was a Friday. He told me he would call me on Monday with an estimate of how much it would be to repair or to replace. Never heard from him. Called DVD for the next THREE WEEKS trying to get an answer from this man. Just an estimate! No one could get ahold of him. I find out after three weeks of repeatedly calling the store that he is no longer with the company. So they send out another technician. Who, in his defense was very nice. However he told me something different was wrong. So I went with what he told me. And I tried ordering the part that he said I needed. I called the store twice to order and each time the payment machine was broken so they couldn’t take my payment to simply order an $11 part for my microwave. I called on 5/26 to try again. Payment machine wasn’t working and they said they’d Call me back. Never heard back. Stopped in on June 5 to order in person and saw the parts dept was closed. I call again to try to order the part in 6/8/21. AGAIN the payment machine is not working. This has been going on since literally April 23. Save your time, your money, your headache and go to the competitor down the road.
I bought a dish washer from them and when it came the installer said that the opening was to tall for the unit I bought. He hooked it up so it would work .. but I had to bring in a carpenter to make it flush to the counter.

Took 2 months for them to get a part to fix my 6 month old washer. Their technicians was rude both times he came. And dumped his wet vac full of nasty water with black stuff in it down my porch and steps. Now my washer needs 2 more parts and they dont wanna cover it with warranty. Also have pictures and video proof my basement never flooded but because everyone else did that week which is why u took over a week to come to my house my washer was broke before anyone even had problems with there basements

The delivery men Ray and his partner were wonderful! I would give them 5 stars if I could!I bought the fridge 3 weeks prior and waited to have it delivered for my next weekend off. But the sales man Riley told me he would put me down for delivery on Saturday which is what i asked for. When I called because he told me he would follow up beforehand he told me he moved me to Monday without my permission. I called back the next day to insure I was on the schedule for Saturday and he told me the fridge was now damaged and he put me back on for Monday without my permission TWICE. Then he said he got one in and will put me on for Saturday. Ive never been treated like this at any appliance store and he gave me the hardest time. Once the fridge arrived the door was on the wrong side, very disappointed I do not recommend.

Very disappointed with my service at the store and on line. The sales person Riley lied to about what he told me. I was looking at a dishwasher and said I wanted a third rack. He told me He could get me one. so when it was delivered there wasnt one in it. There were also scratches on the front which were not there when we bought it. The installer said he could order and new one so he put it in but did not secure it because he thought he was coming back to put the new door in. Well, after many calls from them, they decided they would give me a $100.00. The door cant be replaced and the dishwasher was not set up for a third rack, because it was a clearance model. We were told when we bought it that there was one already on the floor and they didnt need 2 of them. I do not like thisthis dishwasher. I do not like how I was treated on the phone. Her name is melenie or something like that.I would get things in righting if they say they can get you something, because their word is not good enough. I now have to live with this dishwasher for years. I hope their warranty service is good because if anything goes wrong with it I will be calling them. I could have gotten one I wanted at a lower price somewhere else..I wish I would have.....
We’ve bought all of our appliances here for the last ten years. Lee usually helps us and provides top customer service. We’ve been satisfied when we’ve had to have an appliance repaired, but we haven’t had to use them much.

Had to pay $140 for labor to replace a water valve on a washing machine that literally took less than 20 minutes. Seems excessive to me.
One of the easiest, quickest transactions Ive had on an appliance. We had a good idea on just what we wanted, and the salesman guided us right to the selections that fit our criteria. We made our decision, processed the payment and paperwork, and were out of the store in less than 20 minutes. I will certainly want to revisit this store as more of my older appliances will eventually need replacing.

Poor experience. I purchased a new fridge from Lee, the salesman, at the Bloomington, IL location. The sales experience was fine until the fridge was delivered and he sent me a damaged fridge from the sales floor when I bought and paid for a new fridge he stated was coming from the Springfield warehouse. He promised Monday delivery which didn’t happen. He blamed his company. Then the fridge shows up Tuesday still cold from being plugged in on the sales floor in Bloomington. The drivers confirmed they literally unplugged it and loaded the floor model to deliver it to me. Lee said it was cold because he plugged it in this morning. He said there were no scratches or dents on it when he cleaned it this morning. That’s where he had to admit it wasn’t the new fridge I paid for that he claimed he sent. Why on earth would he need to clean a new fridge? The drivers confirmed the damage was already there and assumed I paid less for a floor model. Unreal. Absolutely poor salesmanship and a deceitful salesman. He lied a couple more times to me on the phone about the fridge’s availability and said he’s now sending me a fridge from Springfield that someone had already ordered and would be pushing their delivery date back.(The new fridge I bought and paid for) Absolutely unreal. I will miss a 3rd day of work waiting for the fridge if I decide to even do business with this company anymore after this experience.

My Mother bought a $2k stovetop. Sales person was wonderful! Great experience with Jim the salesperson!The service department is what gave her all the issues. Initially setting up delivery and install was a challenge. She was dictated the day and time. She made multiple attempts to adjust either the day or time due to a doctors appointment. My mother’s description regarding the service department, “rude” and “flippant.”Unfortunately the size for stovetop was off from dimensions from the manual. Extra fee charged. Not huge... extra $25. When she asked about the charge again was treated rudely. She actually went in today to pay in person. Jim the salesman wanted to pay the extra fee.Unfortunately she ordered the stainless steel version and received the black option. She won’t mention the error to the store and thinks the black version good enough.As a son with an elderly mother in a different State trying to purchase a new appliance, I appreciate people like Jim the salesperson who take care of people. Clearly looking at other responses, the service department needs a little work.Definitely ask for Jim! Sounds like a great person!!!! Find someone else to install and service.

I wanted someone to check the water dispenser of my 2-door GE refrigerator which used to stop working at times and does start working again the next day. Since the technician arrived to look at my refrigerator- the water dispenser stopped permanently- circulation of temperature stopped working- food items in top shelf of the refrigerator get spoiled- icecream kept on top shelf of freezer stays in semi liquid stateWas that he being careless while pulling out the refrigerator to check the back of it?

I purchased a washer. Was told for x dollars I would get a warranty covering the washer.Washer breaks two months outside of manufacture warranty. Call DVD store tells me one thing is covered. Tech shows up tells me another thing is covered. Tech was here Monday at 9:00am. It’s now Wednesday at 3:00pm and still haven’t received quote for the price of repair. Call the store push option for repair sit on hold for 3 minutes get no response. Call back and push option for sales someone immediately answers and transfers me to same line where nobody answers. Call back ask for a manager. Guy says he’s the sales manager but knows absolutely nothing and is zero help. Transfers me to someone in charge of customer service. They inform me that they can’t quote me the price or any details only the tech who was here can do it and they can’t get a hold of him but will have him call me. I basically wasted the money on the extended warranty bc it was sold under misleading details. I can’t get my diagnostic fee back because they claimed he did his job, which he didn’t since the quote to repair is part of the diagnostic fee. So I’ll just be sitting here waiting for who knows how long to hear who knows what.They wonder why chains are dying, this is why.
Bought a part at the store for my dryer that cost me $170 at store. i was not told i am not allowed to return part. found same part online for 19 dollars. my wife tried to return part to store, parts lady was rude, saying she told me when i bought it that it was non returnable (she was not even person that sold me part). i have bought every appliance i own there, will probably not go back due to this deal. i would of told everyone in store to go to best buy but there was no one in there

The sales team was so easy to work with and made our first experience wonderful. I have no complaints on their end. But the service department is another story. Weeks ago we called about a horrendous odor from our washing machine that filled our entire house yet they told us it was just the seal and they wouldn’t service a cleaning. It continued to get worse and called again and finally got an appointment scheduled for over 2 weeks out. That was scheduled for yesterday which we got a snow storm. Reasonably they were not servicing due to the inclement weather but when rescheduling, they made no exceptions for people that needed service done, and pushed us another almost 2 weeks out instead of fitting us in any sooner. I will not ever pursue buying from them when the warranty doesn’t matter because the service will be done elsewhere that won’t push you out over a month without use of your appliance. When you buy from them, you sure don’t get the whole store!
The refuse to let you talk to a store manager. A tech was out to diagnose my broken appliance, after waiting 48 hours I tried to get a hold of the tech to get a quote and was unsuccessful. I tried to call the office to get the quote and they stated only the tech can give the quote. When I asked to talk to a store manager they refused to let me. They told me he would not be able to help in any way. They told me that the tech is in the field and when he is done he gets to go home sometimes as early as 3:00. Its now going to be over 72 hours before I even get a quote, that is if he decides to call tomorrow. Then after they order the part, and get me on schedule I could literally be without my washer for over a week. Every single ad, every single commercial says they have the best customer service, when you cant find a tech after 3:00 and they refuse to let you talk to anybody of authority its far from the best customer service, its far from even good customer service. Will not be back and I encourage you to read the other negative reviews on google, yelp, and other platforms so you can see how they truly treat customers that try to use their services.

Texted via the website to find whether the item I needed was in stock and available for pickup that day. They responded via text quickly and had it ready to go when I walked in. Great experience.
The sales guys are great. Its nice to go buy an appliance in a place where the sales people know what theyre talking about. He listened to what I was looking for and showed me several items and looked at those not in stock plus price checked also. You may think your paying more but in reality you pay more at the box stores when you add the warranty that is thrown in for free here. Plus the kids running the lumberyard appliance department really dont have any idea and keep looking at their phones in the middle of talking.

Unhappy with repair service and 5/10 warranty is not worth it. Website claims that largest selection of parts. They had to order parts for our washer that took a week. Then parts were wrong. Had to wait about another 2 weeks, replaced parts, washer not fixed and now say it needs another part for $175. If they had told us everything up front we would not have done initial repair and would put money towards new washer. Now we have a washer that still doesn’t work right unless we give them even more money.
Definitely recommend them for any of your appliance needs. Better prices than anyone else in town, very helpful and excellent customer service. I was only there 15 minutes and walked out with exactly what I needed and it was such an easy process.
Had a repair person out for our dishwasher... and he was very experienced and knowledgeable, we also had a great experience buying a dishwasher from this business...they have excellent warranty plans... the business is organized and local, sometimes piece of mind is worth a little extra $.
Dont ever use this company. Bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer set. After getting them delivered not even a month later the dryer melted all the wires inside and would not heat at all. We use this COMMERCIAL dryer in a COMMERCIAL setting using it 2-3 times daily. They came out and said it needed a new heating element taking 12-14 days to get parts in. I tried calling them a dozen times to get someone from service to give me a call back and it took two days finally to get a call back. I tried to get them to replace it instead of being without a dryer for 2 weeks but they refused. I then brought my personal dryer in to use temporarily. Again this was a month old dryer. After waiting the 2 weeks got the part replaced and it worked for about a week before not correctly heating. Then caught some of the laundry on fire and now not heating correctly at all. They informed me now that its too late to get it refunded and refuse to replace the faulty dryer because its being used in a commercial setting..... ITS A COMMERCIAL DRYER. Calls are never answered and service is not quick. Find a better service dealer.

One person told me that my washer transmission is covered under warrantyThe tech came out and told me the motor was covered.. He did not disassemble my washer, he just turned it on and let it ran. He told me he would contact me that afternoon with a priceAfter calling to complain about the fact the technician had not given me a quote for repair after 72 hours, it went back to only the transmission is covered. Poor customer service, and poor product knowledge equals go somewhere else. They have 1.5 stars out of 34 reviews on yelp, and all the complaints are in line with each other, poor service, poor care.

No-pressure sales. Great advice given on which brands to look at based on quality of performance as well as repair issues (e.g. how long it takes to get parts for a particular brand). The sales person took his time with me, answering all my questions and looking up the ones he didn’t already know. The 5/10 Warranty can’t be beat! My only concern is the 12 day expected wait for delivery.

Update: Had to deal with a very rude salesman after the fact. Most of my appliances were delayed at least once, one was delayed a 2nd time and since none of the appliances I bought had floor models, it turned out the dryer I bought wasn’t WiFI enabled even though the washer I bought was. I pointed out to the salesman, when I bought it, that it was a feature I liked and at no point did he mention the dryer I was buying wasn’t WiFi ready so now I’m stuck with it for 10 plus years. I get that I should have double checked, but why would I buy only one WiFi enable appliance that comes as a set? It would have been nice if he would have mentioned it. He was pretty short with me every time I was I was on the phone with him and he was very difficult to get a hold of him. He rarely returned my calls and whenever I called he was always with a customer, on lunch or his day off. After you buy anything, don’t expect them to treat you like a valued customer.
Still waiting on fridge. Ordered in July. I realize they have no control over Maytag but customer service is rotten. In my mind you should be informed at least monthly. Does not happen. Half the time will not even rerun your calls.

The sales folks make shopping for appliances with a budget in mind very easy and I feel I got excellent value with my purchases.
The sales department was knowledgeable in helping me pick out what I thought was a good washer and dryer. The service department definitely leaves something to be desired. I have owned my new GE washer and dryer for a little over a year and the dryer has had numerous problems. The motherboard went out in less than a year. The fourth service call in a year was Monday and Tuesday when I tried to use it there is no power at all and its not working. Im going to request a new dryer as Ive lost all confidence in this dryer and in the service department. Luckily I bought the extended warranty but I feel that because I have that they put me off for quite a while before getting my dryer fixed.

I have had a brand new refrigerator that I have been trying to get repaired for over a month. I keep getting the excuse of they dont have the part. It seems to me that excuse is getting old. Cant even get any kind of an answer from our salesperson, its like he has vanished. We didnt just buy a refrigerator but the whole kitchen and a washer and dryer. I am tired of seeing your commercials about your great service and fast repairs. Those words are very deceiving try telling the truth that you will get to it when you can if you have the part.
Went in to look for an identical microwave as one that just went out due to ensuring proper fitment. They were the only ones in town with it in stock and was able to get it the next day. Lee was super friendly and courteous which made for a very smooth transaction. Will be shopping here again when the time comes.

Met Mike in the store. My wife and I had no idea where to begin. He asked us a handful of questions and he was quickly able to narrow down our search. Mike was great. We have sent a handful of people in to buy new appliances and they have all left happy also.
We called to have a refrigerator repaired in April 2020. The initial diagnosis fixed a problem, but not THE problem. Second diagnosis did nothing. Third diagnosis was correct, but was a warranty claim that required us to use another service repair company in town.When we asked about getting some compensation in return for the 2nd misdiagnosis (which was admitted by a different technician as completely unnecessary) we were met with a lack of empathy and understanding. The only compensation we were offered was to give them more business (and specifically for a new fridge, not broad use across the store). In all, it took 4 visits and 2 repairs across nearly 3 months (as we moved to the back of the repair line every single time as well) to get a diagnosis that required us to use a different repair shop.

Changing my negative review to a positive one. After communicating with several people about our issue with our brand new dishwasher, we received a call last night from the president of the company. He apologized and had them put a new replacement dishwasher on the truck today and it was delivered and installed this afternoon. After some issues with trying to get this situation fixed, it turned out to be a great customer service experience.

I would give zero stars if that were an option. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Paid for a freezer in full that I was assured was in stock. When it was time for delivery they tried to tell me it was damaged and unable to be sent. I said I wanted to look at it and they claimed it had just been taken to the scrap yard. I caught the salesperson and manager in multiple lies. The GM decided to send out a loaner freezer until a replacement was back in stock. I was happy with this solution until they tried to charge me for delivery again, then after another month I started recieveing bills claiming I agreed to pay $17 per month for the loaner and that I agreed to purchase the loaner freezer if it wasnt returned after 30 days. All of that was false. I have contacted their customer service multiple times trying to get this resolved with no luck. They always claim they will call back but they never have. Please.... do not do any business with this store. They are baiting and switching during this pandemic and taking advantage of people. I would have completely understood if they were honest and said they didnt have any available. But to claim it was in stock, even double checking while I was on hold, then making up lies about damage the day before delivery is unacceptable. Its been three months and still no word on a freezer. I will be contacting the better business bureau soon.

I have always had good experiences with Dick Van Dyke Appliance World, both with their sales and service. Most recently I needed repairs on my over-the-counter microwave and my dishwasher. The repair man actually came the evening before his scheduled appointment because he had some time available. He repaired both appliances quickly and was polite and professional. I highly recommend Dick Van Dyke!

Kyle was our delivery/installer. He was polite, funny and shared that he has a 4 month old son. Installation went smooth and took less than an hour.Our new machines are a little intimidating after having the older style. Taking time to actually read the instructions will definitely be a great help.
Always great service and great price, but I think there should be a tutorial though by the service rep prior to the units arriving as the manuals arent exactly user friendly. My sales rep did help me over the phone though. Installation gentleman was extremely polite nice and checked everything; however I feel as heavy as these units are you need two people so you dont have to have them ram it over the door jamb. Wasnt overly thrilled about that part.
Went in to buy a new washer and drier. The staff was very knowledgeable. They answer all our questions and showed us which model would work best for our needs. They had them delivered the very next day. The delivery person was extremely nice and very helpful. And not to mention the set came with a 10 year warranty. So over all our experience was amazing.

I was able to send the measurements of my new laundry room to an associate at DVD in order to determine if the washer/dryer set I was interested in would fit. That part of the service was exceptional. However, I have a second floor laundry room and the delivery people left deep scratches on my hardwood stairs.

The process of talking with a salesman on the phone, and his getting the only one of the fridge I wanted available anywhere in the US was nothing shy of miraculous! It was delivered six days later.The set up guys were very nice, and did a good job for the most part. They installed the freezer drawer backwards, but my daughter was able to correct that.Overall, a wonderful experience!

We had an issue with our freezer and we contacted Dick Van Dyke Appliance World. They followed up promptly and each person we dealt with was professional. Jim was the service person who fixed our freezer and today it runs like it’s brand new. I also spoke with Dee the Service Manager and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was 100 percent determined to provide us a superior service and she accomplished this. I recommend Dick Van Dyke Appliance World to anyone who needs new appliances or need service on any of their appliances.

Had a wonderful experience at Van Dykes appliance store- the salesman Jim was very courteous and helpful- delivery charges are reasonable as well . We will buy from them again!
Everyone from on line, in store, phone and delivery guy was great, professional, friendly.Delivery guy was very good at taking pics of stove after set in place but when company came to install gas line, we found dent/bent under corner on back of stove. Stove had not been touched since put in spot by delivery guy. Had to of happened during delivery or install.
Salesperson great to work with. The delivery guys, one super nice and one seemed to be having a bad day. Refrigerator is great.
