Had purchased furniture from this store before so naturally we went back to them and paid over 3k for a special order bedroom set. We were told that it would take 8 to 12 weeks due to pandemic delays. During this time we received no calls or updates as far as our order was concerned. We want back about two weeks to a month after the 12 weeks had past and they told us they didn’t know when it would be coming in. We let the sales person know that we felt that was unprofessional since the timeframe was given by them and they were not staying true to their word, he brought me over to the store manager to tell him myself. Manager of the store could not care less about our issue and brushed us off he was pretty rude to be a manager. He essentially said he would reach out to see if a timeframe was available but that it would come in whenever Orr came in. Received a call from the salesperson the next day who said our order had been canceled because the manufacturer was no longer making the bedroom set we had ordered. They allowed us to purchase a bedroom set (paid upfront) and wait for over 3 months just to be told that they didn’t make the set anymore. Set still showed available online. They tried to get us to just get something else from the store but we demanded a refund from them and went to the store only to be told we had to come back the next day because they didn’t have enough cash to refund us. Worst experience I have ever had with a furniture store. Completely unprofessional. The manager was rude and could care less to fix their wrong. I’ve purchased furniture since then but definitely not from this store. Posting my review a little late but I felt that it was absolutely necessary to share this experience to let others know what they could potentially face with this business.
Absolute worst furniture buying experience. Was told by salesperson that the table set we decided to go with was in stock at the time of payment. A week later we get a call saying we had to wait a month and a half for the table. We waited, two months later, the time got pushed back. Waited. Another month passes and same old lies. Received a voicemail that our table set was available for pickup after being told the day before that it was not in. Went to the store within 24 hours of receiving the voicemail and was told by the manager that our table never came in (not knowing another one of his staff had already told us that the table indeed came in and another angry customer came in right before us and was settled into taking the table that Royal had just called us and stated was ready for pick up). Then told September 3rd would be the next delivery day, here it is two weeks later and now theyre giving us a date in October. Several months of total lies from this place and I would advise you take your money elsewhere. Weve been told so many lies from this place, its ridiculous. I understand delivery backup but the lies are very unprofessional.
Most terrible experience EVER, and I will be taking legal action if this issue is not resolved. Back in July we had an entire suite of furniture financed. We were told it was on back order for 2 weeks before we signed, and we were fine with this! We were going to pay off the entire thing as soon as we received the furniture, so we only put $1,000 down. AUGUST 28th comes and we finally get the mattress, but not the rest of the furniture, because it still on back order. We are fine with this. 2 weeks later, and we can no longer wait for the furniture so we had the entire order canceled, and kept ONLY the mattress. We have paid off the mattress as a whole, and have receipts to prove it. We then received a call saying we need to pay $3,000 for the furniture that we DID NOT receive, and that we had late fees. We went to this location to dispute it, and they wrote us a new contract, and said we were fine. 2 weeks later, we get the same call saying we owe $3,000 so we go to dispute it again, and they DONT REMEMBER making a new contract, and cant find it. So they write another one, and says its fixed. A month later we get a letter saying that our credit is about to be damaged if we dont pay for the furniture that we DONT have. So we have repeated this process 4 times now, and we are still receiving late notices. I advise no one to shop here. My credit is being ruined over something that is not at all our fault.
The only reason they get a one star is because this price of the couch was reasonable. When I called to make my 1st payment they couldnt find my account. Told me to call back once I receive my payment booklet. Then I was told I only had until November to pay it off and it now September 30th....before interest accumulated. Very disappointed in the customer service and process of purchasing. The black lady who works in the front is a liar. Definitely misrepresented the process of the 90 days same as cash only to make a sale. Thank God Im not struggling and only could afford monthly payments. She lied about the application process, she lied about the payment process and she lied like she would call me once she got word about approval. I already new I would be approved but she ran my credit without telling me all of their financial options for purchasing. I could have purchased with my synchrony card but instead she ran my credit. I had to turn in multiple paper work 😩 which was unnecessary 😒 I will not be purchasing from here again
About a month ago I spent nearly $8000 on furniture, or rather my wife did. When they delivered it 3 of the pieces were broken in some way. It took them about 3 weeks to finally deliver the replacements. One of those pieces was also broken. So we called the store to complain, because its a lot of money to not get decent furniture. Were upset. The regional manager, supposedly, gets on the phone and continuously interrupts us as were trying to explain. We told him to fix it or take it all back. He then tells me he wont be taking anything back except maybe the final broken piece. He told me this while yelling at me. Im supposed to have 3/4ths of a bedroom set? I am in the process of trying to find who to contact to just come get it all right now. According to the website I have 3 days from delivery to return it. The regional manager should learn a little customer service.
Most unprofessional and rudest staff I have dealt with. Jason only cares about making a sale. Once you pay, he doesn’t care anymore and refuses to help get the stuff you paid for. He is a liar and will promise you anything to make the sell. He will cut you off and you won’t be able to contact anyone for help. The language he uses with customers is atrocious and derogatory. The entire place is shady. Save the headache and go somewhere else. Will be filing a complaint with BBB.
Bought my couch and 2 recliners. Had a great experience. Would definitely shop their again.
I ordered a living room suite in mid March. Sales associate told me it would be in on the 25th of the month. March 28; I learned it was not in stock at the warehouse. Mid April, I received the love seat but the sofa was still out of stock. Today....I’m still waiting on my sofa. It’s in stock (finally🙄) but they’re behind on deliveries.
Went there really wanting a two bedroom suits and a dining room table....NO ONE EVEN GAVE ME THE TIME OF DAY...YOUR LOSS... LITTERLY.... I found other business that was happy to let buy what I am looking for!!! You should hire more employees and not to judge customers how they dress!!!
UPDATE: I received a whole new table set, and I found out about this when the “independent contractor” showed up to deliver just the table. Thank goodness I stuck around my place, because I was given a delivery timeframe by Tracy & the contractor didn’t leave a message to let me know when he was coming (I don’t answer strange numbers much). Then, I waited on the delivery guys to deliver the chairs (much later than I was told). I had to call Royal Furniture to find out that they were behind. One fussed about changing it out/setting up the new one, and even said the tableset was cheap lol. It cost more than it should in my opinion as stated in my original post. Not upgrading my stars, because my experience sucked. Royal needs to come up to par and provide real time tracking online like RoomsToGo does. One of the “new chairs” had a knick in it, but I just switched it out with one of the old chairs. ORIGINAL POST: I ordered a table set from the Hoover location in March 2021, and Tracy was my sales representative. She appeared to be attentive and not pushy. I received the table set on time, however one of my chairs was missing a piece. The delivery guy took pictures of it, and I did too. I was told that 2 chairs would be replaced, although I only reported one being damaged. The chair ended up being on back order of course. I also learned after the fact that the table is not of good quality in my opinion (One of the legs on the base is wiggly). I only got that table set because it matches with the color scheme I wanted, and I thought that my dining room space was too small. I should have took a chance on what I really wanted to see if it would fit. One thing I’ve noticed is that the customer service is not so great. I’ve been bounced around to different people when calling. Leave messages and they don’t call back. I had to call more than once to get my primary phone number updated in their system (it was supposed to be done over 2 months ago). When I did talk to Tracy, she would say she’d call me back, but didn’t keep her word. Sure everyone is busy/gets sidetracked, and “Covid” has caused issues in more ways than one. Thank goodness I called today to find out what was going on, because my delivery was set for June 9th, but she/they failed to tell me. Of course they’re still “behind” on deliveries, so I had to reschedule it to the 17th when I could be home during their delivery window. The poor receptionist I spoke with caught some of my frustration today, but she seemed to stay composed. They appear to have some really nice furniture, but I’ll definitely be more cautious if I decide to go back for more furniture. I’m not calling or emailing customer service because it is a joke. I’ll be happy to upgrade the review when it is proven to me that I can proceed to do so.
I don’t usually like to go to furniture stores because they are so overpriced. Not Royal Furniture. They have a terrific selection of reasonably priced furniture. Staff was VERY helpful especially Julie! Thanks to Julie who went the extra mile and found this piece for me to set my 65 inch tv on. I went to 6 different thrift/antique/discount stores and was leery about going to a “regular” furniture store. The prices very affordable. And I was able to take this particular piece with me that day. Everyone there was extremely helpful even the gentleman who loaded it. Thanks again Julie and staff - I’ll be back!
Im not entirely sure how this company has more than one star. Worked with Jason, and experienced some delays in shipment (I still dont have a couch). So far Ive have been lied to, yelled at, cut off on the phone, and ignored. They claim to work with customers, but every time I was supposed to be getting something solved, a call the next day proved that Jason really couldnt make anything happen. I guess he got sick of me, (but Im the one without a couch) and ended up cutting me off and saying he was too frustrated to even let me ask questions. I asked for his promises to be in writing, and he got angry with me? Even the receptionist told me that she knew who I was before I called, and gave me an attitude along with it! Everything is shady. Please dont shop here, its not worth the headache.

Worst place ever! Don’t deal with them!Ordered couch and love seat over three moths ago! Paid cash! Didn’t have couch said would be in in 10 days! We picked up love seat our selves! Have been trying to get the couch for months! They keep saying “ next week! Also they say someone will call right back! They never do!!!! Went to get refund. Then told they have it. Said call back to deliver next day!!! Never called. We called was told can’t find order... someone will call you back! Still waiting!!!!!
I bought my furniture from them multiple times. The service was terrible. I have warranty on my couch, which is supposed to cover suitable replacements for my couches. My couches started changing color and having noticeable spots on them, which is why I asked for replacements that were supposed to be covered by warranty. Instead of replacing the couches, they told me they will order parts to help fix my couches. It has been almost 3 months and no one has still contacted me.
This experience so far has been great. Today was the day that all my furniture was delivered. The delivery guys were awesome they put everything together perfectly. On minor problem was that a leg on my couch is missing but they assured to have it fixed in no time. No complaints here. I would definitely recommend Royal Furniture toy family and friends.

I bought two rooms of furniture from the Hoover/Birmingham store. A few items were damaged during delivery, but both the store sales personnel, office management and delivery truck drivers made every effort to resolve in a speedy and courteous manner. The replacement items are absolutely perfect! I love my furniture and I’m even happier with the excellent customer service. I highly recommend Royal Furniture!
I was looking at furniture online and decided to go into the store because it just feels different looking at the displays in person instead of online. I went into today and was greeted by Julia. She’s absolutely the best and she’s great with kids and that’s a big plus with me because people act like they either don’t like kids or they’re easily aggravated by them. But Julia gave my kid the same energy she gave me, so I was already SOLD lol. I found some pieces that I liked and Julia was able to give me a rundown about everything far as the sales, prices, delivery, and payment options. And they have some GOOD stuff for a GOOD price. I would have to honestly say the worst experience ever. I ordered my couch is two weeks in advance to have them delivered to my New house and when it was time for delivery they never called me to tell me that my couches were back ordered I had to call them. Then I had to wait three more weeks for them to come back in stock. Then I had a second date scheduled for delivery they never called to confirm a time my couches still haven’t got here and no one from the store has called me. And when I called him the second time they said that my couches were in but I had to wait another week and a half for them to be delivered and I told the lady I have a ready been waiting a month for them to be delivered and she told me that if I cancel it now I would have to wait until the first of the month. Very disappointed no communication will never go back to shop there. PS I am still waiting on my couches.
I found exactly what I was looking for at a fair price but the shipping/delivery and communication with the store was not, at all, up to par. My furniture was damaged on delivery and I called the same day and spoke to my salesperson who told me that my replacement unit would be delivered on Saturday the 20th. When I didnt receive the automated call about the delivery, I called the store. Despite calling the store within business hours the phone still said the store was closed. After multiple attempts and filling out the web inquiry form and calling the shipping warehouse multiple time (no answer) I finally got through to my sales person who told me that my order was never put in the system and wouldnt be delivered that day. She then said that all her trucks were tied up until the 8th of July. I explained that I have now had my dishes sitting in my living room for 3 weeks and now would have to continue to do so for another 2 weeks. She told me to go ahead and put my dishes in the damaged one to which I responded by saying that I would then have to remove them all again when the replacement unit arrives. This has been a most-frustrating process and I have now decided to simply keep the damaged item much to my dissatisfaction. Then the manager reached out after being on vacation during this time because he was responding to my web inquiry and offered to deliver the replacement sooner or said I could keep my damaged piece for a discount. I opted to keep the piece and asked for confirmation that a new one would not be arriving.No response to the email or voicemail I left. With all the ways out there to communicate, I expect more. Unfortunately, I dont think they will be getting my business or recommendation any time soon.

I purchased a Serving table from here the other day. It is a great value and excellent quality. It was too big to fit in my SUV so one of the staff members offered to break it down so that I could carry it home. It was very easy for my husband to reassemble. Professional staff and excellent service. I would recommend them highly.
A couple weeks ago we were in Royal and purchased an Entertainment Center. Julie Jackson was amazing. She was a pleasure to work with. She took time to show us everything they had and answered all of our questions. She was very professional and it was obvious she knew what she was talking about. She was such a joy to talk with. We decided on an entertainment center that was a special order and would take 2-6 weeks. Julie did everything she could to make sure we got it as quick as possible and even called us to keep us posted on the status of our order. When it arrived at the store, she made sure she was there when we came to get it. We will definitely go back to Royal Furniture the next time we want to buy furniture.
We got a great deal. The sales person Mr.Price was knowledgeable very pleasant and courteous. I would recommend Royal Furniture its a lot of beautiful furniture to choose from. Even if you are on a budget Royal furniture is the place to go. Im quite sure I will visit this store again in the near future.
Came in looking for a dining room table. Found exactly what I was looking for and was out with delivery scheduled in 45 minutes. They were able to deliver before Thanksgiving and the delivery people were fantastic. Prices were also super reasonable. Overall an A+ experience.

My husband and I bought a mattress and headboard the 2nd week in May. First we were told it would take a few days for the mattress to come from their warehouse in Memphis and the headboard was on backorder but should only take a few weeks. After a week with no call about the mattress, we called. They couldnt find it. Later that day they found it and we picked it up 2 days later and were told the headboard was still to come. The reason for the 2 stars is we love our mattress. Fast forward to last Monday, July 6th. I called to speak with our sales person. She wasnt in even though her business card says she works Monday and dealt with another sales person. He said the headboard was still sitting in Memphis, that he was having it shipped to the store and they would call by end of week for pickup. No call. I called just now, again not able to speak with our original sales person. The man on the phone put me on hold, comes back and says the headboard is there and wasnt sure why No one called. I said we were on the way to get it and he tells me they dont allow pickups on Sunday or Monday so we could get it tomorrow. Needless to say, my husband and I will never spend another dollar in this store or with this company.

Very nice business with quality furniture and great prices. We purchased a sectional and I absolutely love it! It has the electrical buttons to recline and control perfect reclining position (3 sections of the sectional do this). The lady who helped us was fabulous...believe her name was Sharon... definitely do business with them again in future.
Apparently they forget to tell you all the terms of the furniture contract after you pay for it and inconvenience you but theyre sorry bc the new girl didnt know some logical information that really would have helped a paying customer!

Bought a bedroom set and a dinette set from them. Very happy with the customer service and prices. Delivery was on time and the guys took very good care with the items. You know which delivery drop you will be and you can follow the progress of the truck through their website. Would certainly use again.
I would have given 5 stars but my delivery was really late (given time of 9:50-12:50...they got her a bit before 3)...not the fault of the drivers though. There first delivery ran extremely long. Once thst got here they were nice and very fast. My salesman Ian was also helpful but not pressuring. He was very personable

I love Royal Furniture for their easy credit department, quality of furniture and delivery men are extremely careful with the furniture and my home. They are very courteous and easy to talk with. I also love the fact that I can receive my furniture within one week of purchase. Rooms To Go and Ashley require a month or more for delivery.

This is the most expensive cheap furniture I have ever purchased. I had to have the couch cushions replaced 3 times in less than a month and now the cushion on my chair in a half is getting holes in it. And of course I didnt get the warranty because I had my last furniture for 7 years and was still able to donate it because it was in perfect condition. And that furniture was WAY cheaper! I wont buy a pillow from there again! The furniture is nice at least lol

Really good selection. Probably the best selection around for decently priced furniture. Sales people were friendly. They’re still in sales so if you don’t like answering questions about what you’re looking for you may want to tell them from the beginning that you’re just browsing. I’m still somewhat confused by the actual delivery charges, but that’s probably just something to keep an eye on when you’re purchasing (I’ve been spoiled by free deliveries in the past from other places). Overall we had a good experience there and will be returning when the need arises.

Was looking for a console for my TV. Checked a lot of places but didnt find anything I liked until I went to Royal. Not only did they have the right piece, but they also had many more options than the other stores Id been to. Plus the staff was friendly and the delivery crew was efficient.

Take your business elsewhere.Customer service is very important, and this is not customer service. I wasnt even upset when trying to reach the store manager but thats the way ive been treated. I wouldnt recommend if looking to purchase on an immediate basis. The store is for layaway and visuals. DM wouldnt go the extra mile to gain our business. Bad communication from sales rep. Upon trying to come up with a solution we were told the DM had to leave for dinner out. I understand he had to go have dinner with his family. Definitely put family 1st. I encourage that. As a suggestion have some one their to make customer service decisions when your not around. Not a good call. I dont need to know your eating. I just needed to know if the item was available to purchase. If it was not come, up with a solution to gain a customer. Royal furniture let a cash purchase walk out the door only to purchase else where. Im ok with that. We found the same item at another vendors store and they price match the ad plus 10% off for our journey. So it worked out in our favor. Thanks Advice to others: shop around 1st. Take their ad to other stores.

Service is terrible. Purchased furniture had delivery date set. They delivered 1/3 of the furniture promised the rest on another day that day came and went with no furniture being delivered and every time we call up there they say its on the way

After waiting 4 months to get the replacements for my damaged furniture only to turn around and get a botched repairs. Instead of ordering the correct replacement parts they chose to try to repair what they broke. Breaking the wood and the support dont even touch the floor. I paid a lot of money only to receive broken furniture. Dont bother trying to contact the manager youll never get a response.

My wife and I purchased a dining table with chairs, china cabinet, and a sectional sofa from Ian at the Royal Furniture in Hoover on Saturday 8/12 and set up delivery for Friday 8/18. When the delivery person was carrying our sectional upstairs, he was perspiring profusely and soaked the console with his sweat. When I mentioned it to him he told me well, Its 100 degrees with humidity, what do you expect? When we called the store immediately after the drivers left, we were informed by the Store manager, Jeff in Trussville, Its microfiber, it absorbs liquids. It was only after we told him yes, but it is with his bodily fluids, not ours did he decide to offer to exchange the console. We decided on Saturday 8/19 (well within the 3 day return policy) that we no longer wanted the sectional, and went to the store and spoke with our salesperson, Ian and informed him that we would like to return the sectional. Ian told us that they could not refund us until they received the item back at the store(we understood, it made sense). A few minutes later, Ian informs us that we need to talk to Ken, the store manager, on Tuesday regarding returning the sectional. Today, Tuesday 8/22, my wife goes in to the store to speak with Ken. Ken informs us that Royal Furniture does not do returns, only re-selections, and we can pick out something else of equal or greater value. We were not made aware of this ridiculous policy by neither Ian, nor was it on the sales contract. Per Royal Furnitures company policy on their website, it states the following:Can I return my merchandise?There are times when furniture you see in the store just isn’t right or doesn’t fit your space. At Royal Furniture, we understand this, and we want to make such returns as easy as possible.If you return your purchase within 3 days of pickup or refuse due to size or color at the time of delivery, we will authorize a reselection for something you prefer or issue a refund. Any refund may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20%.Royal Furniture does not authorize reselection or refund for:Bedding (including pillows and mattress protectors)Special Order MerchandiseDelivery ChargesKen proceeds to tell my wife that they dont do a restocking fee in Alabama (not a stated company policy). Per other reviews on this store, I see that Kens poor customer service and management is the common denominator in every 1 star review.Needless to say, we will NEVER be purchasing any furniture from Royal Furniture and will share this story with EVERYONE we know and/or come in contact with, which includes thousands of people via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.Update 8/25. I have left 3 separate messages for Mike Speros and have yet to receive a phone call. We would like to resolve this issue as soon as possible, but it appears that Royal Furniture has no interest in doing so. I left a message for the owner, Richard Haber, today, hopefully he will rectify this situation.
When we originally purchased our New mattress and base from Royal Furniture we were very happy with the mattress even though it was $3000 . After a few months ther mattress strated bunching and imprinting very bad, So bad that we would wake up with back pain.Royal had an inspector come and inspect the mattress and he agreed it was defective. Royal did replace the mattress. BUT the new mattress after just a few moinths is also defective. I was told by the store manager Jeff that they had fulfilled their warranty. Well You can bet that I will never go back to Royal Furniture nor will I Recomend them to anyone. I wish I had of read the revues before i bought naything

Purchased a bed for my daughter here last year. I put the bed on layaway with only a couple hundred dollars left to pay. BOTH times I went to make a payment, the older Caucasian lady at the desk was RUDE and I felt so under appreciated BOTH times AND the payment was taken AFTER her conversation was over. I even called a time or two after My furniture was paid for to check the status of the furniture, since it was on backorder, the SAME lady was RUDE AGAIN!!! My salesperson called to update me on the status of my bed and I explained the incidents to her. She stated she would inform management and she kept apologizing for their behavior (she was VERY sweet). Of course, management didnt offer anything for the rude behavior but said they would address it. It was confirmation when I heard previous complaints from non Caucasian friends about their similar experiences at this store. For this reason ALONE, because my salesperson was GREAT, I will NEVER shop here again and I will tell EVERYONE I know about my experience here as well.
