Big Dipper Ice Cream is a great place to grab ice cream with friends and family. The selection is varied and includes interesting (in a good way) combinations. They do offer free samples so that you can try several types. I chose mocha chip, which was absolutely delicious. It was a beautiful evening, so I enjoyed the outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and fast.

Big Dipper Ice Cream is a great place to go with friends. While I often go to Baskin Robins, Big Dipper was a new place to go because of their enjoyably different flavors. I had the Black Licorice, it was my first time, and it was amazing. While other places might be cheaper, we believe Big Dipper has higher quality ice cream. The ice cream was very creamy and tasty. Overall, 9/10, factoring in flavors, price, and quality. No real complaints.

Fantastic ice cream spot! Great flavor variety, great texture, friendly service and generous portions. They let you try a couple flavors, which is good because they have some really unique ones like cardamom (delicious, but not sure youd want more than half a scoop in a serving) and licorice. I also liked the white mint Oreo. Will definitely go back and try more flavors next time Im in town!

My son and I went in during the strawberry festival. There was one person working the whole line and they did fantastic. Despite the stress and line of people due to the event, they were so friendly and polite. The ice cream was delicious, I will absolutely come back.

So many choices! I love how the change there flavors to keep the interest alive! Wish I would have gotten photos, because our sundaes we unreal! Look forward to returning someday.

I had a maple nut ice cream cone and it was delicious! The cone was a homemade waffle cone. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend the Big Dipper.

Wonderful ice cream shop in the lovely downtown Billings! Tried huckleberry and salted caramel, they are greatly flavored and moderately sweetened. Nice interior with bright decorations.Only downside is that you can’t see the ice cream, but you can always try as many flavor as you want.

The ice cream was good but the staff not very helpful my son has a peanut allergy so I asked the man if they had anything on the menu my son could have he said that he would have to ask someone he walked to the back I could see he wasnt talking to anybody he comes back out washes off the scoop and ask what I would like I asked him again if it was safe for my son he said yes the whole night I worried my son would have a reaction to something in the ice cream lucky enough nothing happened but for the future I will not be back.

Single scoop El Salvadorian coffee! It was so delicious 😋 must try! And what makes this place even better, is theygive you wood spoons. What a way to lessen your carbon footprint by putting out less plastic!!!!

Looking at this local ice cream shop, I have found it to be better then other places. The biggest part that I love is that they make the ice cream and one of the cones in house. They are the only place that carries coconut ice cream. It is my favorite! Compared to other ice cream shops, this place has a better price range. For instance, the shakes here would be almost twice the price at other places. They do have limited seating. That makes it hard to find a place to sit during peak hours, especially in winter. Otherwise, they are amazing!

Been here many times. Excellent as always. You need to make the Strawberry Bubblegum flavor a standard. Its remarkably good. Even more so than black licorice in my opinion!!!

The ice cream and staff was pretty good. I don’t just know what the deal is.... Maybe the owners are super cheap.... landlords.... The workers in there sweating. It’s in the end of July. 95-100 degree heat in the day. It was more hot inside then outside at 7 pm. I even asked the person helping me if it was this hot in here all time.If it was my business, I would turn on the air conditioning or put in a cooler of some sort. It has been like this every time and after the third time, I figured I would pass on the info.I would want my workers and my customers to have a nice experience. Because they can’t figure it out and it’s not just a circumstance of the climate control malfunctioning, I give them a two star. Maybe the owners can see this and make it a nice atmosphere for their laboring crew and the clients within.I usually only write five star reviews so this is a first for me. Big Dipper is good but no place to cool off.

Excellent ice cream. Went here for my birthday. The seating is limited and the line was long but the staff were friendly and the ice cream was quality. Their sundaes were delicious. They have salted caramel and hot fudge that is made specifically for this place. Take some home with you!

I utterly love the little dipper ice cream parlor. The cones are always freshly made and mmmmm mmmmm delicious. There are lots of great flavors all freshly made to my knowledge but could be wrong. I think the only problem I have there is the small size benches. It wasnt built for big feet like mine. The ice cream is very yummy otherwise, affordable prices,and great workers. I highly recommend this place to others

Honestly, I just love me some Big Dipper. They have good ice cream, good people, and even when its slammed you still get in and out quickly. Portions are excellent, and their flavor choices cant be beat (yes, Im talking to you, Company X). If you want ice cream (thats not soft serve) theres no better choice than Big Dipper.

Wow! This is an amazing ice cream experience. We are currently on an ice cream tour of the United States and this is our fourth stop. It is by far the best. Everything we tried was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices were fantastically affordable. Hooray for Big Dipper!

This is a great in/out ice cream spot. They always have really interesting special flavors (my favorite was a bacon buttercream that was limited edition). The staff is always friendly and seems like they love their jobs, which makes me want to support this small Montana business.

Decent ice cream nothing wrong with it, just doesnt compete with other options both chain and local. I personally think both Cold Stone and Softies brings something better to the table in their own unique ways at the same or better value.

Homemade unique ice creams. All natural ingredients. They incorporate local ingredients into their recipes. Usually busy but service is fast. Super yummy!

It was almost the same price for 4 individual ice creams as for something called the Super Nova (I think). So we got 6 scoops of ice cream, 6 toppings (which we got on the side), and 2 brownies. Yummy!

The ice cream is ok but they give you wooden spoons. I cut my lip trying to eat this. It was unpleasant. I know that its supposed to be eco friendly but I dont want to eat something that is going to hurt me. I wont be back.

It was slammed due to the events taking place in town, however the staff was great and patient and got the line moving quickly. Didnt have to wait long for our treats!

My husband and I decided to meet our daughter in law there with the 2 grandboys. Great timing on our part as 15 minutes after we got our order it was slammed. Im not sure why because while the ice cream was good, it certainly was not worth the price!Its in an older building down town that is certainly not set up well for an ice cream parlor. With only 2 people in line ahead of us, you barely got in the door. The menu is posted immediately to your right about 10 ft off the floor. Very difficult to read!Not enough servers, they were struggling to keep up which didnt make for very good service.As I mentioned, the ice cream was okay but do not plan on going back.
