Little Gem is an amazing place to grab a quick bite with friends! I remember getting it a year ago and it always crosses my mind whenever I am in Berkeley. The food is reminiscent of fairs and carnivals, and their Jewel Worthy waffle is just amazing when youre craving something sweet but not overly indulgent.I would say that you should be prepared to wait for some time before your waffles are ready, but thats fine considering that theyre just making it fresh for you! The combination of ice cream, waffle, fruit, cream, and chocolate is honestly perfect. Thank you Little Gem, I will be back soon!

Little Gem is definitely a go to! There are so many varieties of Belgian waffles and toppings, that there is definitely something for everyone. Sometimes, the wait times get a little long, but I dont mind waiting because the food is so yummy! I would definitely recommend going to Little Gem if you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth. They are also incredibly COVID safe!!

Honestly, I really like sweet treats, but eating here makes me love them!!! I dont think Ive ever rated a restaurant in Berkeley (and any other place) a 5-star, but Little Gem Belgian Waffles deserves it. I usually get something with bananas, matcha cream and/or cookies&cream ice cream, but every other option is amazing too. I highly recommend coming here!

The waffle is just big enough to share and small enough to not feel too guilty about consuming one. We ate ours very quickly. Satisfied and reasonably priced. We had one with chocolate sauce and strawberries.

This place is great! The portion sizes are perfect. They arent too large for you to feel bad for the amount of sugar, but still enough for you to be satisfied for the craving. I also recently had the mini waffles; theyre a great on-the-go snack. The batter is not dense, but fluffy and never under-cooked or burnt to a crisp.

My girlfriend and I have come here many a times since they first opened. The restaurant is owned by a cute couple (one of which is a Cal alum... Go Bears!~), and they have since expanded their amazingly friendly staff.The restaurant itself is clean and inviting, and the logo is cute by itself. However, the seating is somewhat limited, especially on evenings when everyone is craving something sweet! You can always get your waffle to-go, though they are much better fresh. They also have a deal where you buy a bag of day-old waffles for a markedly reduced price.They have a nice variety of waffle bases and toppings (including our favorite ice cream, Three Twins!), allowing for seemingly limitless decadent and delicious combinations, all reasonably priced. My personal favorite is the Churrofle with creme de gem and Land of Milk & Honey ice cream! 😋 Whatever you decide to get, I am sure it will be absolutely scrumptious!

The desserts were tasty but the storefront is on Telegraph Avenue where a lot of punk high school kids like to hang out. I guess what should one expect with being so close to UC Berkeley campus? But those teenagers are just messy and the vibe is too young, unfortunately. The restaurant is kinda like a hole in the wall and their recipes are quite simple but their waffles are where the secret really lies. Worth going once and trying it out.

OMG!!! I could stop here with this review....but I just cant. As many times as Ive passed through Berkeley in the past year---i only discovered this awesome place 2 weeks ago. As a pro baker....this places waffles....and chicken are super on point. The guy that runs it in the day...and I believe evenings is the best. Super customer service, contactless and great food??? As I began this review I end it the same way...with OMG! Pro Chef and Baker approved!! Wurrrd up! Btw...I recommend...building your own waffle. My regular is with strawberries, matcha creme, and bacon. Game changer stuff....and just enough sweet ....to be a treat. 🤘🏾🙌🏾🎊🙏🏾😛🤓

Walking past the store its hard to resist getting at least 1 waffle because of the sweet smell. There arent that many establishments that sell Belgian waffles so it makes this place special!With COVID, you can only order online or on the tablet in front of the store. I got 4 mini waffles to try ($12 for 4 or $3.50 each). You can customize the flavor of each mini waffle on the tablet but they are mostly glazes or sugar options, you cant add toppings. The flavors I ended up choosing were chocolate, matcha, powdered sugar, and cinnamon sugar.Really enjoyed all the waffles I got, but my favorite had to be the powdered sugar. Really appreciated how the glaze wasnt too sweet but just the right balance of sweetness. The waffles arent that crispy when I got them but overall was soft, warm, and fluffy.Overall, delicious option to fulfill your sweet tooth!

Ever since we moved from Manhattan, we were always looking for a place like waffles & dinges and we ran into little gem Belgian waffles hoping this could be bay areas equivalent of W&D. Unfortunately it wasnt as good as W&D. But the place was kinda cute, and the waffles were good but not great.

A late night waffle place right next to campus sounded like a good late night snack, although I went in expecting to be served slightly overpriced mediocre waffles fit for any student wandering late at night (we all know standard for food when we were in college werent exactly great). To my surprise, these were actually fantastic. Plenty of great toppings (I went for speculoos and bananas) and the prices were pretty reasonable. Service was quick, and the employees were kind, even considering how late it was when I went. Ill definitely be making a stop when Im on campus craving something sweet and convenient.

The deserts are a super good and tasty. Its pretty good for just grabbing a quick bite although it might be hard to get full off the food here. Would definitely recommend eating here if youre feeling the need for waffles

The waffles are good, although I have better liege waffles. I had chocolate ice cream on my waffle, and the ice cream is really good. I spent $7.21 and I got a waffle with ice cream, bananas, and cream. I would say its overpriced, but in Berkeley maybe its not.

When the waffles are fresh, theyre great! A reasonable Belgian waffle place, and the place to go if you find yourself craving a sweet and chewy Liege style waffle.

Was the perfect start to my morning. I had been dying to try it for a few days; the smell when you walk past is to die for! The waffle was very yummy and I want to go back to try one of their dessert waffles with ice cream. Just thinking of it is making me hungry.

I enjoyed the churroffle, a delicious combination of cinnamon sugar on a chewy warm waffle. If you havent had a Belgian liege waffle before, you must try one.

A bit on the pricey end, but the churrofle with milk and honey ice cream on top is simply awesome and one of the greatest treats in Berkeley! If I had more money, I would come here often. Even though its not exactly a real Belgium waffle it is nearly identical and still tastes amazing!

We have been coming here for a while now and don’t usually write reviews, but they deserve it.Any and all dessert lovers must try. Raised, yeasted dough makes a perfectly chewy-crunchy-soft combination of textures. Little pearl sugar crystals stud the waffles and caramelize in the waffle iron. Get any of the waffle combos with ice cream. Just the right amount of sweetness.We now buy the reheatable packs of waffles to tide us over between visits. Our favorite dessert place in Berkeley.

Great ice cream, long lines. The quality of ice cream is amazing. However, if you are coming here on weekends, good luck finding parking and then waiting in a very long line that usually extends outside the shop

Missing chicken tenders, missing whipped cream, missing, maple syrup, asked for cookie butter spread on the side they piled it on top of my waffle which ruined the entire meal. I called for a explanation and their excuse was im sorry we are very busy A busy restaurant is not an excuse for poor attention to detail and service. Did not recieve a refund for the ruiened waffle but did for my missing items.

Great little place for a late night snack when everything else is closed. They serve you fresh made Belgium waffles with your choice of toppings- my favorite is the Nutella and strawberries.

Super cute dessert spot with lots of variety of waffle toppings including various ice cream flavors, fruits, sauces, nutella, etc. One waffle with ice cream may look small, but its usually enough to split between two people. Limited seating, but it hasnt ever been a problem for me.

Always room for dessert! I always have such a hard time deciding what I want, but finally settled on something simple but good. You can create your own combination here and I got the churroffle (cinnamon belgian waffle) with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and strawberries. I hate paying for vanilla ice cream because its so simple, but I dont it when its really good like this place. The waffle was also a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a good amount of cinnamon sugar for sweetness. The strawberries were a little on the tart side and I hate when they lie to me and say the strawberries are sweet when theyre not!Overall, save room for dessert, because this is a good (but filling) one to check out.

This place is a gem! What a unique late night dessert option! It’s nice to have more options than just the typical ice-cream and boba shops for late night treats. My favorite combo is the one with vanilla icecream, strawberries and bananas, and Nutella on top.

Huge disappointment. Has none of the characteristic caramelised sugar crunch and aroma that is expected from a proper Belgian waffle. Dont waste your money here.
