I was unfortunately not a fan of this at all. The ice cream pretty much tastes like supermarket ice cream that you could get for so much cheaper. It was weirdly sweet, kind of plastic-y but probably due to artificial flavoring. Granted, youre supposed to eat it with two warm cookies, whereas I just got a cup. Even then, however, the ice cream was already too sweet for me. Like how many different flavors they have though.
I have no idea why cream is literally the best at hiring #1 THEE BEST kids to give the best customer service. Not only are they the best ice cream and delicious yummy cookies, the kids that work there are so friendly! Theyre polite and kind and make you laugh and every cream is like this, its not just one!! They are awesome!!
Great vegan mint chip ice cream. Two vegan flavors offered, along with vegan cookies. Cones are not vegan.
Went for milkshakes on milkshake Monday. They don’t serve milkshakes past a certain time. Which doesn’t make sense on milkshake Monday. Opted for the ice cream sandwich and the cookies were so hard the ice cream basically fell into my lap on the first bite. Pass this one if you’re going out for a late night treat.
Sometimes my favorite part of getting ice cream is the cone! Yes. The cone.Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience with Cream. The cone I chose wasn’t crunchy, the chocolate around wasn’t flavorful, and the ice cream (I got the cookies and cream one), didn’t stand my expectations...Maybe for the next time I can get the famous ice cream sandwich... and then I change my mind.
Such a delicious first experience! Line out the door almost every night and now I know why.I got the salted caramel scoop on a peanut chocolate dipped cone. The chocolate dip is thick and made the cone a treat within itself! 😊 the cone by itself, however, was your basic cake cone. Tasted like the kind you buy from the store so dont expect nothing fancy from the cake cones. The ice cream, on the other hand, was smooth, creamy, and hand thick ribbons of salted caramel all throughout. It was so delicious ! Definitely regretted not getting that second scoop 😊
Creams has the best ice cream sandwiches mades from cookies. You can choose a variety of cookies and brownies
It was average at best! Maybe, it is regarded as one of the best in Berkeley. But, when compared to other ice-cream stores in Bay Area, it does not score extraordinary points. Perhaps, worth visiting once.
The concept is great (who doesnt love an ice cream sandwich !?) but our visit left a lot to be desired. The service was poor and the workers seemed like they had better things to do than attend to us. The ice cream was good but not great and flavor options were limited. Lastly the cookies were a bit stale it seems so the sandwich crumbled a part after our first bite. Overall would not return.
Freshly made cookies that you get to place a well rounded scoop of ice cream between. Start with one of 12ish different types of cookies then add one scoop of 15 or so different flavors of ice cream. They have vegan and gluten free options of cookies and ice cream. Not in the mood for an ice cream sandwich? They also have the typical ice cream parlor selections or a hand make waffle cone ice cream taco.
I (veg) went here with my sister (non-veg) and we both enjoyed a nice treat! The double chocolate vegan cookies were incredibly fudgey and gooey but the soy-based strawberry ice cream had an overwhelming artificial flavor. Go stop by during quarantine to avoid the lines!
Average ice cream, average customer service. Pricey
Two stars cus the ice cream is still good and I think they are specifically more of an ice cream shop.Minus 3 for the cookies though. I realistically go there for their cookies because let’s face it Fenton’s is the best ice cream in town... They changed the cookie recipe for butter sugar, snickerdoodle, choc chip, and macadamia and they are all transformed into the most regular cookies I’ve had the misfortune of wasting dessert on... used to be spectacular - soft, a little crisp where it hit the pan, fluffy even! Now? They look flat and taste like there is no love and no butter lol. I didn’t eat a sugar cookie for my physical healthy okay?I could go to Safeway for these cookies. Just flour and sugar.
Staff is very short with you and rude when you call about a specific item. They don’t even bother to check if it it’s in stock! The other day I saw the place packed with 6 people when the max capacity is 2 people during the COVID-19 pandemic and the worker was wearing the mask WITH HER NOSE UNCOVERED. She could’ve contaminated the whole place. And they didn’t enforce the mask policy with the other clients we felt very uncomfortable there
I got a Dosant with Cup of Joe ice cream and chocolate sprinkles on top. It was like having a croissant, a donut and a cup of coffee with mocha crunch in every bite! It was a delight. You get variety and creativity to get solving your sweet spot. Recommended you come early... long lines at this location start at 8/9pm every weekend night
Its hard to go wrong with cookies and ice cream, but neither is exceptional.
Pretty nice ice cream
Small cookies but served warm
As a vegan they didnt let me down. The soy strawberry was the most amazing thing ever. I got ut with the vegan banana bliss cookie. At my taste way too sweet but ill be going back just for the ice cream. Only thin g id change is customer service
They asked if I wanted my brownie heated up and I said yes and then they gave me a frozen brownie...
I was kind of excited. I saw the sign Plant Based and decided to check it out further. At the bottom in very fine print contains a small amount of whey. Whey is one of the two proteins prominent in dairy.Items containing milk or eggs are not truly plant based. Im disgusted that so many companies lie blatantly to their consumers while using the title to help with sales. Bad form.
Nice ice crean nice customer service, I tried their Apple my pie I believed, was sorry I only got one scoop very delicious.
I really like this place, but make sure you order together, else your ice cream may melt before your friend gets theirs! Still, cream is so good.
I like the warm cookies. I didn’t ask for a cup and I got ice cream everywhere. On my hands. On my hat. On my shorts. On my face. On the ground. Very nice people too.
The ice cream sandwiches here are delicious! The cookies are fresh and warm which complements the cold ice cream really well. Also, the cookies and the ice cream both taste high quality. Finally, the people working there really seem to enjoy themselves and are super friendly both to each other and the customers
I mean, it’s CREAM. It’s definitely a good place if you’re looking for a sugar rush, but I’ve never been overly impressed with anything here, aside from the employees who usually are talkative and fun to converse with. The ice cream has never really impressed me. It’s not particularly flavorful, although to be fair that could be intentional, so as not to overpower the cookies/brownies/etc, but it’s not a great impression overall.
The best ice cream cookie sandwich I ever had. It was so good and satisfying. Milk shakes were good too.
Fireeeeeeee
I have edited my review from 1 to 3 stars. The new vegan flavors are good. The staff is behaving well. No issues as of yet.Good to go spot for shakes.. Prices are okay..
Its surprisingly hard to find good vegan cookies, but CREAM has them! The vegan chocolate cookies with soy mint ice cream is amazing. Highly recommended.
Great place to get a variety of desserts. One of my favorite dessert places. I highly recommend it.
Love this place!!! The amazing guy that I can only assume is the manager, is always super friendly.
Hella bomb!! 🍦🍧🍪😋
I love getting ice cream here and its usually open until pretty late, which is great. This place has great milkshakes, but I usually go for the ice cream sandwiches, which are super delicious. Its on the more expensive side. The one thing is that the ice cream melts pretty fast and can get messy if you dont eat it quick enough.
Ice cream sandwiches are always good and they changed the oatmeal cookie recipe which is my favorite
Cute ice cream shop in Berkeley. Not just ice cream, but cookies and brownies. Not just milkshakes, but cookies and/or brownies can be mixed into the milkshake.Staff was friendly and kind enough to split my milkshake into two cups so I could share with my daughter.
Very small - especially when only 1-2 people can step inside
One of the best things about Telegraph and Durante street are the places to eat on a budget. When you are on a budget and want to get your sweet tooth fix then you go to CREAM. The times Ive passed CREAM there was always a line and this time there was a line which grew exponentially once I got there. The anticipation was killing me because the smell of burnt sweetness was wafting through the air, what a tease. Got to the front and man I felt rushed. I had so many questions and I was hoping I can try some of the ice creams but I can feel everyones eyes on me. The people in front were super patient and nice.I asked for a chocolate chip cookie and snicker-doodle cookie with vanilla ice cream. The cost was $2.50; to me that is about 83 cents a piece when you look at it that way. Once I took a bite I was sold!!! $2.50 for what you get at cream is like winning a raffle, semi-life changing. I wish I didnt wait to long to take a bite because the ice cream hardened the cookies a tad bit -____-CREAM is worth every penny and there are so much combinations you become determined to try a little bit of everything. On a hot day, an East Bay weather kind of day, or even on a cold day CREAM is a worthy place to get your ice-cream-cookie sandwich fix.
Delicious Ice cream and hot fresh baked cookies, what more could you ask for? I love this place! My children, friends and family absolutely love CREAM! Something sweet and delicious for everyone!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I always love this place for a quick dessert. The lines are a little long but they move quickly. The ice cream sandwiches are delicious and cheap. Its also worth it to ask them to put your sandwich in a cup as the paper wrapper gets soggy.
Long lines but so worth it. The best place to go for that quick sweet fix. They bake the cookies fresh and the ice cream is made fresh also. The smell is amazing while you wait in line. Once you go, it will be one of your favorites too.
Tried a new flavor for my milkshake (cookies n cream + blueberry cheesecake) and it BANGED. Plus the gluten free fudge cookies were actually good.
Yup! This is a winner. So good. Its a small shop with two tiny tables so its meant to eat and run. Kids love it, as they do offer cups and a spoon if you ask. Parking however is not a plus. Plan to circle and find what you can and walk.
Warm cookie, delicious ice cream, simple yet enjoyable toppings. A great place for dessert, and the sundaes come in the perfect size to enjoy while walking campus.
Love this ice cream store. The sandwiches are made of any combination of cookie you desire, and the ice cream in the middle is really tasty. Sometimes the cookies are still warm from the oven. Last time we went, the cookies were too warm, and my daughters sandwich melted apart and made a huge mess. They happily replaced her sandwich without me even asking, and totally made her day.
A little on the pricey side but if you cant even consume dairy like me, their vegan flavors and cookies are SO worth it. My ice cream sandwich which was a chocolate cookie with soy blueberry ice cream was around $6, I was a bit shocked at the price for a sec but its normal for vegan stuff. Not sure if Id pay that for dairy. Regardless, to all my vegan friends especially, highly recommend!
Amazing ice cream. Great flavors. Also offers vegan flavors
Interesting flavors including non-dairy. Big scoops.
Good. Cheap. Fast. Our service was great! The guy serving us was very friendly. They didnt have the flavors I wanted so I wasnt going to get anything but the worker was patient and encouraged me to try as many flavors I wanted until I found one I liked. The line was out the door so it was nice to not feel rushed. It was a really great experience. We ended up getting mint chocolate chip and green tea. We enjoyed both of them but I liked the green tea a bit more.1.50 for a scoop2.00 for a cookie sandwich (for cash)3.50 total.Tummy and pocket happy !
Its fine. Staff is friendly, tastes good. I miss the old days before they were expanded. Quality and portions have shrunk as prices grew.
Who would say no to an ice cream? Great location, and creamy ice cream with freshly baked cookies. It used to be quite affordable but recently the price has gone up dramatically. I dont go there that often anymore. In addition, in summer there is usually a very long line.
Delicious and one of my favorite places to get dessert in Berkeley.Be sure to eat your ice cream sandwich (the only thing to really order) fast because the ice cream will melt on you!Id rate it five stars, but it seems a little expensive now. Although that might just be because I remember when it was dollar cheaper. Well, at least you know they are probably paying their workers better.
Stop by with a friend. Who wanted some ice cream. Seemed decent oh, but I didnt try.
Tends to be a long line due to popularity with students. When you get nice, warm cookies its pretty good, although a rather heavy dessert. But sometimes you just get cold cookies, and all the ice cream squeezes out when you take a bite, leaving you with a puddle of creamy at the bottom of the sandwich bag, then you go home and cry yourself to sleep.
Place is a bit small so standing in line was a bit uncomfortable. The treat here is so worth it. I got the brownie ice cream sandwich. The brownie was warm (they heat it for you)with chocolate chips and I had mint chip ice cream. To. Die. For! Best after dinner dessert by far!
This is for all Cream cookierias. Ive tried this one and the one in San Jose over a period of 4 years. Ive tried Cream when Ive had the cookie cravings and it fails in one major aspect... because the cookie is too rigid. What happens is the cookie doesnt crumble as you bite into it and then pushes the ice cream filling out of the sandwich. The original San Francisco Its-its ice cream cookie sandwich has it perfect in this respect. Its so satisfying with both the ice cream and cookie, but they must stay in place after each bite.
AMAZING! We really have amazing experience, the customer service is really good and definitely the staff are friendly 100% y recommend this Ice cream place 😍😍
An all-time students favorite, CREAM truly lives up to the hype. The ice cream sandwiches are a must-try. The lines can be long on weekends but it is definitely worth the wait!
Good ice cream and cookies, but rather disappointed with service at times. Went several times in an attempt to get a milkshake, and they were unable to provide for one reason or the other. Overall, good store for a small snack!
Great concept; your choice of ice cream sandwiched between your choice of two warm cookies. The price is great, too. Theres usually a line but it moves pretty quickly.
Their milkshakes are heavenly
Decent cookies and ice cream. Not wonderful, but not bad by any means. The ice cream was great, but the cookies somewhat hard. Also, on the pricy side, but thats to be expected in Berkeley I suppose.
Cream is one of the cant miss places to go for a snack/ dessert in Berkeley. Its a good value for your money and both the cookies and the ice cream taste great. I came here for the first time even before I went to college in Berkeley (during orientation), and ever since then, Cream has been a highlight whenever I am back in Berkeley. The cookies are a good size, but they place a massive scoop of ice cream in between them, so youll be fighting a battle as to whether youll have a semi-melty ice cream mess in your hands or have brain freeze from eating too fast, but theres worse problems to have :) .The one main downside of Cream is that if you arrive during the peak times, youll probably hit a big line out the door as people love their ice cream sandwiches here. My recommendation is to hit the restaurant when theres not a line, both so you dont have to wait, and so you have some time to look through the selection of cookies and ice cream without pressure to order from the people behind you.
Loved the ice cream. Had it on a taco for the first time!! Quality is very good.
Thank goodness I live far away from this place because it is dangerous. The cookies and ice cream are fresh, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the price is unbeatable. Ive only kept off the pounds by limiting myself to a few trips a year. The classic sandwiches are just $2 (when paid in cash) and they are large, you will want to be hungry when you go. And theyre open late so its a great spot to stop at on your way home from a date, work, studying, drinking, whatever your thing.
I totally think this place is right up there with most the reviews. Im a little surprised that some reviewers had to wait so long in line. When I went on a Saturday afternoon the line was pretty long (well out to the door) but moved really fast. In about five minutes I got my double chocolate cookie/mint chocolate chip sandwich and it was warm and gooey just like I expected. I think the price is extremely reasonable for the size of the ice cream sandwich- I couldnt even finish mine.
Customer Service was terrible. We asked for a bag and we received one but we had to put our ice cream in the bag ourselves. They had little amounts of everything. Ice cream was bad and had no taste but the cookies were okay which saves it from getting one star. Will not be visiting again.
Even though theres always a line, it moves fast. We always hit this place after a game in the city. Perfect end to a perfect day.
Great little spot. We walked in and placed our order, no line. By the time we were leaving there were about 10 or 15 people in line. Very dynamic place, and good selections.
I love their ice creams paired with a piping hot cookie.
Delicious vegan mint choc chip and blueberry ice cream! Also delicious vegan cookies!!
The heated, glazed croissant/donut turned into ice cream sandwich I had will always have a special place in my heart (and veins). Expect a line out the door on busy evenings!
Took four from our family today. We know it was going to be good by the line formed up the block. I got my cookies withe Egg Nog ice cream and it was great. Very nice service from the staff. I recommend it for a good low cost fun time.
My friends and I frequent this cream when we come back for winter vacation from our separate colleges. UC Berkeley area, though not one that we went to school in, is normally a very lively place. With that said I really enjoy going to UC Berkeley during one of the brakes especially when to break as they are rarely any people around and therefore my friends can sit and talk for awhile. I recommend going to this place at any point in time because hes a really good and the staff are nice too.
Very good ice cream sandwiches and cookies. Love it
Best brownie ice cream sandwiches I ever had.
So much hype leading up to visiting this place, I should have know it was going to be a disappointment. First off, the line was around the block (we waited it out for 20-25 minutes) and when we got to the counter everyone working there looked seriously pissed to be there... The ordering process is simple enough, and the prices are good for the above average quality of the cookies and ice cream (though they ran out of several flavors by the time we were there) - Its just nothing special, and certainly not worth going out of your way for (and standing in line for).
Amazing! Love this local ice cream! Owner and her staff are wonderful! My personal favorites: mud pie, mocha almond fudge, dame delicious and Elvis (without bacon). They dont have these flavors very often, so when they do, run dont walk! Also, whiskey vanilla, midnight oolong and black ring coffee are all solid choices! Buy pints to take home - especially since they are closed Monday and Tuesday.
Why didnt anybody come up with this before?! Its so simple, so genius, and SO cheap. Any cookie you want (well, practically), including lots of gluten free options. Tons of ice creams. The two of them on their own might not be all that exciting, but together its incredible. And its $2. I dont really care how long I need to wait. Whatever else I was doing that night probably wasnt all that important anyways.Easily the best combination Ive ever gotten here was the oatmeal raisin cookie with the carmel-cinnamon ice cream. Dude, just thinking about it ... I might need to drive into Berkeley tonight.
The line was so long but the wait wasnt actually that bad. The ice cream was delicious, perfect for the summer night.
If your craving ice cream at 10.30 PM on a weekday, this is the place to go. If you are looking for affordable ice cream, this is the place to go.If you want quality ice cream, this is the place NOT to go. I got the brownie and Rocky Road ; I did not want the brownie heated. One bite in and I got a hint of staleness The brownie smelled/tasted stale - Not unbearable though. Saw a lot of students standing in line for their fixes too, so I think this place caters for a certain demographic.Nothing special about the Rocky Road, unfortunately. Dont go if you are looking for quality ice cream.
I love ice cream and fresh baked cookies so I really want to love this place but each time Ive had their ice cream sandwich, Ive been left with sticky fingers, stomachache and the need for water. I think the idea of the sandwiches is cool but it doesnt really work. Its nice that the cookies are warm and fresh baked but that also melts the ice cream really quickly. They put the ice cream into small cookie paper bags which is less wasteful than in a cup but the ice cream melts so fast into the paper which is not very strong so things get messy fast. The cookies are great, I love their flavors but they are too sweet. So sweet that I have never been able to finish the two cookies and I get a stomachache from trying. I do like their ice cream and the fact that they have actual whole pistacios or almonds in them. I think next time I will just order a couple of scoops of ice cream in a cup and maybe one cookie :/Oh and dont be deterred by the line, it goes pretty fast. They know what they are doing and have set things up to be pretty efficient.
Quick service- small ice cream shop. Small cookie sandwich thing was around $5. Great variety.
