Easily my new favorite small business. This place has so much charm, such nice owners that even took the time to give us a gift for thanking them for such delicious food. All of this felt homemade(which it was) INCLUDING the mochi, which was delicious and refreshing. I got Udon, Red bean Dango, and Fruit Dango, definitely recommend this place. Anytime I find myself in Berkely from now on Im going to make a point to stop here.Just a heads up, no indoor seating, this is a take away spot, but when me and my girlfriend came they did have some little tables outfront.Stop by this place, you really wont regret it

Every time I’ve visited Tamon Tea, they have been wonderful and super kind. The staff is really friendly and you can tell that everything they sell is very authentic! The dango and omusubi are delicious. It’s very close to the UC Berkeley campus, and the prices are very affordable. Definitely visit Tamon Tea!

Small family-run Japanese take-out. They do have small tables for sitting too. The staff are very friendly and quick.When look for a menu, there is some on the wall but also papers around you can look for om the wal and near cashier. Food are pretty cheap, but also have mostly rice. The rice balls are pretty cheap, so you got smaller amount of meat/vegetable. I think it is reasonable for the price.

I had strangely never been here before today. Its really good though, and Ill be back. They have a large selection of onigiri, but I had a beef udon bowl. It was amazing! I also had some mochi, which I am never able to no to. It was also delicious - soft, chewy, and fresh.

Very kind owners. I have been a customer since my High School days. Their prices are cheap so that students can buy a variety of japanese food and drinks. Its a small shop and doest stand out making it seem like a local secret.

Wonderful selection of donburi, curry and omusubi. Has a variety if Japanese drinks and hot + cold teas. Also have variety of Japanese desserts. Unique offerings make it worth a trip!

The service is really fast, they have drinks and snacks of all kinds, and the onigiri is really good.

Reminds me of Japan town. Lots of cute Japanese snacks and desserts. The onigiri is fantastic and they have a really good selection. The salmon and the unagi flavors are really good. The mochi is pretty good too though the red bean is a bit chunkier than I would like.

Great place to grab a quick bite! The staff is very polite and the food always arrives fast. I come here quite often, and my favorite items on the menu are the omusubu (rice balls) and the curry Gyuu don.

Great LITTLE omosubi shop! I wouldnt bring a date here, but this spot is great to grab a quick bite to eat for cheap. Be warned tho, it gets reeeeal busy during lunch time at Berkeley high

This place has the freshest rice balls Ive seen anywhere, including the convenience stores of Japan. When you order an o-musubi, they pop open the rice cooker and spread the filling well within the rice, wrap it up and its cheap. Once you get home with it, its easy to unwrap in one piece. A great inexpensive lunch with friendly service.

Very authentically Japanese and the only place I have ever found to serve onigiri. Very delicious (especially the salmon) and wonderful sweet options. Very reasonably priced too.

This is one of my all time favorite places. They have fresh mochi, make onigiri fresh to order, and always have a small selection of new little cakes and treats. I try to stop by every time Im in town. I highly recommend this place!

The food is a fun, inexpensive, and a quirky snack when you feel like it (I.e. the dango, omusubi, etc), but the real reason this place gets 5 stars is because usually theres one dude running this tiny shop, and you can literally see him just working his butt off. Go Tamon Tea guy!
