This is way up Berkeley hill, so if you sit in front section, you get a spectacular view. I am usually in back, make a point to come here once and hang out every time I am in Berkeley. Dont give up trying to find bathroom, just keep following signs. There is self-serve water when you are done with your coffee.

Stopped here prior to attending a concert at The Greek, not a large selection of items and they were down-staffed. The customer service was pretty good when they were able to provide assistance.

Come to this place in the evening for spectacular views of the Bay and the Golden Gate! The food is always fresh and of the highest quality, albeit a little pricey. The seating area is adequate and carries the rest of the International Houses charm. This is a great study spot with its proximity to the Haas library as well as the Memorial Fitness Center.

Nice cafe. Arrived just before Noon and they still had the breakfast menu up, which promptly changed at 12:00. The food was good and prices reasonable.

The I-House cafe offers a 20% discount to Cal staff which we really appreciate, and is open late-ish for dinner. The selection is a bit limited but given the lack of places to eat around that corner its a great resource, and the front window view looking all the way out to the Bay is gorgeous.

Nice place for studying or chilling in the terrace.Terrible customer service though, especially in rush hours or when the boss is around: Oftentimes they are out of half of the items of the menu. They rarely do custom orders (e.g. sandwich without onions, or chocolate over pancakes). They have very long queues, as in spite of having two cash registers, they never seem to have more than one open.The food is OK but more expensive than comparable one in other places nearby.Some waiters and waitresses are nice.

The cafeteria service was blah, but the coffee & pastry was good. Great location if you have a meeting at International House.

Pros:- Mayan salad with steak (surprisingly good! comes in giant deep-fried taco shell)- short wait during non-peak hours- interesting options like dosaCons:- they run out of food mid-week (including staples such as chicken, lamb, etc.)- on the pricier side, considering portion sizes- very hot and stuffy in the dining areaBottom line: I would go back to get a Mayan salad to go, but if I never eat here again, I wouldnt be disappointed.

Pretty terrible food compared to the local resturants on Shattuck or even Telegraph. Tiny portions, not fresh, virtually no whole grain options, uses American cheese for breakfast sandwiches. Very overpriced if paying cash($10 for a sandwich and chips, no drink). Open very limited hours, kitchen closes a good 2 hours before the cafe does and rarely gets your order right. No unsweetened cold beverages. It will take you 15-30 minutes to get a simple coffee and sandwich, unlike any reasonable cafe.However, its covered on my meal plan, and is actually open during the hours they state they are, unlike the dining hall(do not recomend at all), so I often get breakfast here before work because its free, and tastier than the dining hall for what I eat. I think I would hold a more favorable opinion if there werent so many better and cheaper options 2 blocks away. However, compared to Umasss or MITs cafes, the service is still really slow, and they have a very limited and expensive menu.

Pretty nice place, bordering the university of Berkeley run by students. A stroll through the entrance to the main building is worth it because the modern combines with the old to give a charming place. We would see ourselves studying in this place! Otherwise slow service but the dishes are made on site.
