Food is good, service ok. if u want to come here to get some work done, good luck. wifi is slower than dial up.
Great food. Breakfast bowls excellent.
Good breakfast burrito!
Super comfortable place to work with a wide selection of light food options. They have wifi and outlets making it a great place to study or finish up homework. Finally, the staff is super friendly so I have no complaints
Really good food and nice vibes at this Cafe. Prices arent too bad and though the food can take a while to come out its worth it. Their fruit salad and crispy chicken sandwich are both amazing. Love this spot to eat and study or just relax.
Average. Yeah just Average. The first American breakfast since I came to USA. I ordered the house special. There wasnt anything special about it. Scrambled egg (without salt), toast (I got half of them toasted the other half not, why?), potatoes (the taste was good but they were cold). I was pretty excited but after the meal I was sad.
Stopped by for breakfast. First time here. Nice selection. Everything was prepared well and tasted great. Portion was really good for the money. Gave only 3stars based on service. Service could have smiled and been a bit more friendlier. Would not detour me from returning. Food was that good.
The Eggs Benedict is memorable and the pancakes are light an fluffy. They serve home fried potatoes a little too Salty for my taste tho. HASH BROWNS PLEASE! No where to get hash browns on the Northside of campus! !
Ive been twice and neither was a good experience.Even though the place was mostly empty, NONE of the tables were clean, so I had to use a bunch of napkins to wipe one down myself. The baked potato wasnt fresh -- it tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day.The chicken on the house salad has a weird texture and also didnt taste fresh.
The chicken apple sausage tasted like kilbasa was served sliced swimming in grease and some liquid. The eggs swam in as much water as the volume of 2 poached eggs, the French was packaged freezer stuff.
Great sandwiches and good coffee. I like the pesto chicken sandwich. Still havent tried their breakfast options.
A frequent lunch stop for me. The BLT on wheat roll (as a hot sandwich) is especially good, with thick, crispy bacon. A selection of large baked potatoes is also nice, as are their salads.
Good place for sandwiches but you do have to be specific about your orders. The sandwich makers (some of the less intelligent sandwich makers?) will automatically put onions on your sandwich. Four stars for the cafe, two and a half to three because of the not always on the ball sandwich makers. :D
Just skip it. Iβve tried a few times and they are either rude or inefficient or both. Walked in this morning with door wide open only to be greeted by an inexplicably rude βWeβre not open.β Just head up the street to Brewed Awakening instead.
Great food, I loved that the breakfast potatoes werent greasy. They looked more baked than fried. The eggs were good and generously portioned. Theyve got cool real sugar sodas in interesting flavors, and a coffee station with plenty of options like nutmeg and cinnamon to add to your drinks.
Good breakfast burritos. Otherwise regular.
There are two baristas who pour one of the best lattes in Berkeley. Great coffee. Food is very good and well priced.
Good, quick option for a healthier snack on Northside. They have a lot of different drinks to choose from, and their salads are pretty good as well. They usually dont have that long of a line, and its pretty roomy inside so youll mostly be able to find a table to sit down at. Also, very accessible whether youre coming from campus or from Soda/Etch. Havent been able to try most of the food options though, so I cant really comment on those.
Would give zero or negative stars if that is even possible. My first time visiting this cafe was a really great experience that I went back for my second visit within a week. However, the subsequent visit was really bad. There was no option of substituting the toast for something else (Im gluten intolerant and they have no gluten-free toast). More home potatoes then? Nope, no as well. I wasnt happy with paying the same price for a substantially smaller portion because of their (or more like the cashiers) refusal to substitute something I absolutely cannot eat with something else. So, the cashier got his manager to help with the customer problem as the cashier put it. The manager said I could take a banana as substitution. I put up with it because I was really starving and I really had no time to argue even further. But, in retrospect, a banana to substitute a toast is ridiculous. More home potatoes or something worth $2 (the toast is listed as $2 on the menu on the wall) would have been more acceptable. I told myself I will never come back again to such a place - it has no pro other than its proximity to the campus. Then, I got a reward from SquareUp that I could use at Northside Cafe. I told myself, since I get some discount, why not give it a try again? I went right on the day the reward was supposed to expire. The same cashier who previously dealt with me was the one who served me. However, the reward code was not accepted on the grounds that it had expire a day ago. After several tries with the code, we got the same outcome. He said he could not give me the discount since the system said that it has already expired. However, the same system that sent the email to me said it hasnt expired. He wont budge. I left without getting anything except a firm determination that I will never ever go back to this crappy place anymore, especially when the employees make you feel like youre the one serving them instead of the opposite.
Northside has provided wonderful catering service at many of our events β breakfast meetings, lunch meetings, orientations events, dinners... The food is tasty and fresh and the service is outstanding. I am grateful for their catering manager, who has been accommodating and helps make our events a success. I highly recommend them.Susana Aguilar (PSR Academic Affairs)
Really nice espresso (dark roasted). Reasonably priced food, breakfast wraps for 7 bucks.
The only downside is that they do not have wifi.Coffee tastes just okay, but the sandwiches taste awesome. Its a great place to have healthy meal in between class times.
It can be hard to find a seat here, but it is worth it. Lovely place on a Sunday morning. The food is high quality, good and plentiful.
Everything is good but the wifi. I can only connect to it after tens of tries. You may wanna fix it.
The lettuce from the salad had gone wrong, and we found a hair on the baked potatoes.
So cute, amazing food and atmosphere.
Im really not a fan of anything Ive had here, the cookies you get delivered are mediocre, the coffee is not good. The few times Ive eaten at the restaurant its just been greasy and rushed. Id go elsewhere before coming here again.
Great place right near my school good food and sometimes has wierd people
Cool little corner place for a good sandwich or a nice cup of coffee. Serving is good and usually fast.
Fresh and timely prepared breakfast with a smile and very tasty. Intimate cafe with a nice vibe.
One of the few places that has fresh, good, quick breakfast food near campus. They dont really have baked goods, but the coffee and drinks are quickly made and they have good sized helpings for all their dishes and sandwiches.
Came here a few minutes ago, got the Eggs Florentine and added a side of avocado, when I got my plate I was pretty underwhelmed, right off the bat I didnt see any avocados, instead I got a small cup full of green puree (which was most likely store brought) I asked the woman at the counter if those were the side of avocados I asked for and she said yes, when asked to exchange it to slices of avocados I was declined and told that they dont have them. How do you advertise say that you serve avocados and then push me this sorry excuse for an avocado? Ok fine I took the L and moved on. Time to try the Florentine, the hollandaise sauce wasnt bad but when I cut into the egg it did not spill like its supposed to. To me if the egg on a benedict/florentine isnt done right the whole dish might aswell be thrown out. The potatoes were good but seemed a little scattered over the remained of the plate to fill space, I could clearly see that I got skimped. All in all I realized that this is not a spot you come to if you have a finer taste for things, this is a college town joint and thats all it will ever be, nothing more. I do not understand how this place has 4 stars, maybe paid reviewers? Truthfully I believe it shouldnt have more than 2.5
Nice place for a quick bite. Friendly staff!
The most price reasonable wrap (burrito ish) near the campus. Note: they sell wraps only in the morning or until slightly past 12 pm
Nice place to have a break
Nice people, nice place and good breakfast at a decent price.
Great baked potato. Other potato dishes are good too.
I ordered my food and then didnt get what I ordered. Didnt find out til I got back to my house and its raining, so Im not going there.
My coffee was okay- the service was okay, the atmosphere was okay.It was convenient but honestly nothing special
Good food, friendly staff, over-priced, crowded. Three different trash cans and Im never sure where to dump stuff.
This is my go-to for a decent sandwich.
Health tastely covers the basics with a sense of purpose and class.
Food is okay. I learned this past week that they stopped serving baked potatoes. Also, they changed some of their menu. Too bad the walnut and fruit salad no longer come with guava slices.
Nice place to go if you want brunch food, they do a pretty good egg scramble, breakfast burrito, and etc. They also serve baked potatoes, which are difficult to actually finish because of how huge they are.
Great selection of breakfast and lunch options at fair prices. Nice location, too.
Very convenient place!
Good for a quick coffee to go. Also has cold drinks and a nice breakfast food selection.
Has good sandwiches and would definitely go there again
Eggs and potatoes yummy. Coffee is good too
Sandwiches were great, the coffee was good and the service was amazing. Things are a bit expensive here though.
The breakfast wrap was just okay with cheap canned salsa and not enough egg. However the latte was a B+ and friendly service makes all the difference in my world.
Took forever and Screwed up our order. Salad was a mistake and a burrito I ordered didnt even make it into the to go bag. So no burrito.I paid for a burrito. I just didnt get to eat one.The writing on the wall about no wi-fi is ridiculous and draconian.Should have zero star option.
Pretty good coffee shop with great breakfasts
Good lunch place. Timely service.
Pretty good food and sitting space, but mediocre coffee and a cafeteria kind of feel.
Good breakfast food!
The hummus sandwich is quite good. The service is terribly slow.
Bfast us good,,,bit pricey
A bit overpriced. They used to offer better sides with their sandwiches, now its just chips and they raised their prices.
Good place for brunch, friendly service, decent food.
The people working there were nice, but I was disappointed with the food quality. The potatoes in my breakfast wrap were pretty gross--some of them were cold and had a chewy texture.
I enjoyed their hot breakfast!
Ordered pancakes with egg and pork sausage patties. Competent stuff at a decent location, but just a tad pricey
Good wifi and location. There breakfast burritos really hit the spot.

Decent food, nice people. Packed with UC students most of the time.
Breakfast items and baked potatoes are great.
Weird flavors
TL;DR: Didnt answer phones, rush to Caffè, miss breakfast by one minute, told by manager Sorry, should have been here one minute sooner.First and last time here. I tried to call in a order for breakfast because I knew that I would not make it to the restaurant before they stopped serving breakfast. When I called their phone rang with the busy tone. Over the next 15 minutes I called 7 times and got the same thing. I finally decided to try to rush over and get breakfast. I get there at 11:25. Just in time I thought. It took them 5 minutes to serve the one customer that was ahead of me. When I get to the register to order they told me that I missed breakfast by one minute and wouldnt sell me biscuits and gravy. I tell them that I tried to call in several times but there phone line was busy. The employee then goes to get the manager and see if its okay to sell me breakfast. When they come back they told me that if I was there one minute sooner then they could have sold it to me but that I was out of luck. At that point I walked out and went to the Caffè a few buildings down and got breakfast.
Great coffee friendly staff
Love their hot chocolate!
Nice coffee and the best service
Good place for breakfast or brunch
Great service, healthy options.
Sanitation needs to be improved.
I was looking for a job there
Good place for lunch.
I like the cold brew.
I came here for breakfast. They were pretty busy so they accidentally gave me coffee instead of ice coffee, but the breakfast croissant sure made up for it.
Yummy and fast!
Not the best breakfast sandwich.
No wifi, good coffee
Great sandwiches
Nice snacks

Savory, piquant, divine
