Though for sure I was looking at a replacement clutch on my 2001 Ford Ranger, but thankfully it was only a U Joint on the verge of falling off! Caught it just in time!. However, since receiving my truck after it was repaired the entire clutch just feels and works smoother. Was this a side effect of the U Joint replacement? I think there was some clutch adjustments made to improve the clutch operation not listed on the repair invoice. THAT is the kind of business you look for!!!! Awesomeness!!

This last visit was to check my AC. We didnt repair it on this visit but will certainly go back to do it. I learned of Cottman while seeking transmission work about a year or two ago. They were about the 4th shop in the area from which I got estimates and information BUT they were the only ones that didnt try to take advantage of my dead transmission situation. Cottmam helped me structure the best solution for my car. They even answered my brothers questions from another state about the plan repair before we fixed it. Straight up answers, no surprises, honest and quality work! I cant say enough.

Had a good experience here. They were very communicative and honest. They couldn’t repeat the failure I was seeing at first, and called me to make sure of when the car was supposed to act up so they could see the issue. I appreciated this, as they could have easily not done that and I wouldn’t have known. I got the quote, and it was too much for how old my car is (that’s more of a factor of the car value, not their quote price), but they still gave me the 21 point diagnostic test for free, so I didn’t have to pay anything. Even though I didn’t have anything fixed this time, I would definitely go back in the future.

I thought I needed my brake rotors replaced but they looked around and found something was up near the engine. They were able to get it fixed in an hour and it was a lot cheaper than getting my rotors replaced so I feel that speaks on their honesty. My car doesn’t vibrate anymore when I have it stopped and they were able to get me in on that same day which was neato. I’ll likely go back to them for any other services and would recommend them to others.

Great experience, nice people, my friend bought a used fixer upper that needed transmission work. After the free inspection he gave us 2 prices, and was able to repair for the lesser cost. Amazing, considering most mechanics are 21st century attorneys and will take every dime they can. I definitely recommend the Aloha site off Baseline.

I recently went to get an oil change and while I was there, they told me they noticed steam coming out of the side of my radiator and that I should get it looked at asap.I reached out to a few different auto care shops to get information about the potential repair. I could give this place 5000 stars I would. But I think facts are more helpful than stars. I lost 2nd gear in my transmission after a few hours of them looking at it I had a price and timeline on when it would be fixed. They do not charge to look at the vehicle and the staff are so friendly. My complete transmission rebuild took only 4 days and it was cheaper than expected. I will never take my vehicles any other place but Cottman.

Quick, great service! I came in looking for an estimate and hoping to set an appointment for the next day. They made a recommendation to replace the rotors rather than machine them down and I later realized that it would save me in the long run. They also looked at a clunk I had going on in the front end for free along with providing an estimate for that. Lastly, they working with the guy next door with getting two used tires put on so I didnt have to wait around. I will be coming here for all of my mechanical needs!

Last week the transmission on my Ford 1995 E350 Diesel started making some significant scraping sounds. Not having much money, I took it to a couple shops for quotes. The lowest one I received was $900. I rolled into Cottman, ready for another big quote. After a test-drive, the mechanic said it sounded like loose bolts, and that he was hopeful he could fix it for a reasonable price. I decided to risk it. They opened it up, found some loose bolts, tightened everything down and sent me on my way for a gracious $175! I just drove across the state without a hitch. Thanks guys!

I chose Cottman to do an oil change and transmission diagnostic on my 1977 Chevy K10 due to their close proximity to my home and reviews. They quoted me approximately $40 for the oil change and $103 for the transmission diagnostic for a grand total of just about $143. My truck was shifting hard and late and I was concerned there was a large issue hence the diagnostic. I did know, however, that the transmission fluid had recently been flushed. Cottman did not try to gouge me and instead found that there was only a hole in a vacuum hose. They called me and said my issue had been resolved and my total bill was $86.. well under what I had been quoted and expected. They didnt try to talk me into any unneeded services. They have won over my business with their knowledge and honesty. Thank you Cottman!!

Cottman transmission is reasonable and fair. They do good work which makes us repeat customers, and not on the same car, but several cars. If they do not find an issue they dont try to make one up. I recently took a VW bug in assuming it had a coolant leak. They did not find one and there was no charge. The car had been my granddaughters and when I talked to her the night I brought the car back home she said there had been no problem with low coolant until she went to a popular local oil change place for a DEQ check.

Friendly. Fast. No BS!- - - -Was having transmission and check engine lights come on. Went into two other transmission specialty shops in Beaverton and they couldn’t really give me a clear indication of what was wrong or quote me on any costs.I came here and was consulted, without any obligation, and they suggested I drop my car off for the day so that they can figure out what’s wrong.I dropped my car off before work, in hopes that they would be able to diagnose my car before the end of the day. They gave me a call back quicker than I expected!Kevin was able to tell me what the possible issues may have been. He was really straight forward, and told me exactly what may have been wrong, and did not suggest any unnecessary BS fixes like some other shops do, and did not pressure or scare me into any fixes. Great serviceI took my NissanNX over here because I thought something was wrong with the transmission. I just wanted to fluid and filter taken care of. Before they did that they took a look at the transmission and it was fine. Instead they figured out it was just my spark cables. I still spent about was I expected to do the fluid. Definitely will come back again if I need to.

Great Service - Couldnt be happierI had my Jeeps transmission rebuilt there and the price was reasonable. The service was good and they were able to perform the work in a timely manner. I was happy but not otherwise impressed.Then, 14 months after they did the rebuild my Crankshaft Position Sensor was starting to fail due to heat. This is a common problem on my model Cherokee if an aftermarket CPS is used. When I called they said they would fix it for free, I only had to pay difference between aftermarket and Mopar OEM part. That is what I call service. I will continue to bring my cars here for as long as I live within 100 miles.They are honest and good people. I absolutely recommend them.

I am not sure what the other reviewer was complaining about. Ive gone here for years because they dont push sales, and because they treat customers with respect. Coming here makes me feel like I know a guy... I have attempted to report the review because it appears to be made by a competitor, note that they have only ever reviewed THIS place, making it even more suspect...It may be that they confused the place for a different mechanic.

I had brakes and rear diff gears installed. When I went to use the emergency brake there was nothing the pedal goes to the floor. Avoid this place!

They bent over backwards to help me overcome several problems within my budget. They are not the fastest service. I brought my vehicle in because it was having problems shifting into gear. They replaced the slave cylinder which required taking out the transmission. When everything was put back into the car they discovered that there was a problem with sychrogears in the transmission. They were able to take apart the transmission and replace the gears as well as a bearing that needed replacing and a shifting fork. They did the work as soon as they parts had arrived at their location. Leo also did not charge me for labor for taking the transmission out the second time which saved me 500$. The car shifts like it was new and the repair came with a 12,000mile/1 year warranty on the repair. I am confident that their work will last and if it doesnt they will have it repaired. This repair was not cheap, however I feel it would have cost more at a different location. Getting the specific synchrogears that the transmission needed instead of the entire kit to replace them all and the bearing would have cost more than twice that of the repair. Leo found only the parts and not the kit saving lots of money for me. I am very happy with the service their repairs.

Cottman really puts Service in Service Center. What I originally thought was a transmission problem, was diagnosed as bad ignition coils. I was happy to find out that Cottman does a lot more than transmissions. But because the misfire only happened intermittently, it was a bear to troubleshoot and I had to bring the car in several times to catch it in the act. Once they shuttled me back home after I had to drop the car off without a ride. Cottman bent over backwards to find out what was going on, even buying a brand new instrument just to diagnose my problem. They were completely upfront, honest and down-to-earth. I dont think you can find a better car shop.

I, like everyone else HATE car trouble!But if you have car trouble, Cottmans is THE PLACE to go!!!!I had a complete engine replaced here a few years ago (after having another shop make a bigger mess of my van) and was 100% happy with everything about Cottmans. So glad my friend gave me this recommendation! Car trouble is sort of like death and taxes...things happen, right? So...a few days ago my van conked out/got a tow in Tuesday around 3pm. Kevin called me at 5pm to tell me I needed an alternator, battery and battery cable. It was all done and ready to go the next day before noon.Kevin and Mitch are awesome!

Their quotes are reasonable comparing to other autoshops, sticked to the cost/prices they promised/committed, and tried to save customers money by finding lower priced parts for used cars. I am so amazed by the helpfulness of the employees of cottman, especially Kevin and Becca. They helped me fix an issue from damerow ford that the dealership had supposedly fixed, but it had not been done. Kevin is trying to help me get reimbursed for the money that they owe me. He did not, and does not have to go out of his way,but he does! AND they used brand new parts, which I would much rather pay a little more to them for new parts, than to a hole in the wall shop that uses refurbished parts. Quality matters and Cottman has plenty of it! Definetly will be back (if need be) Id rather not have any more issues with my car, but if I do, I know where I will take it! Thank you Kevin! After taking my truck in for a free inspection, i was informed my transmission was broken and it would cost me 2900.00 to have it re-paired by cottman transmission. So i looked up a rebuild kit for my transmission under $200 bucks. plus the upgraded parts still came in under $400. I decided i could rebuild it myself, Which i do have access to any and i mean any tools or equipment i might need and or any knowledge. its not rocket science. so i returned to cottman to retrieve my truck. i asked to speak with the gentlemen that work on my truck, to simply find out if a rebuild kit would cover whats broken in my transmission. A employee by the name of Alex came out to discuss this with me. i spoke of my plans to rebuild and asked if a rebuild kit would cover all the parts i may need. I was never given an answer. he just told me there lots of small parts and i couldnt handle the rebuild. he then suggested that he could do it as a side job. so i said okay how much will you charge. the kid turns around and goes back in the shop then comes back with a new quote. hell only charge me 1500.00 plus 500.00 for parts that have to come from cottman, he has to use there shop and do it while hes on the clock... HMMMM. sounds like its the farthest thing from a side job. i said that 2000.00 was a bit out of my range. Alex then suggested i wait for my tax return and use that to fix my truck. I run my own company i dont get a return, i owe every dam year.. so the shop quoted me 2900.00, then they change there price to 2000.00 But the kid is doing it on the side. BS BS BSDo you ever feel like having a shop steal money from you? If you do, go to cottman. theres a new slogan for them. My car wouldnt start..I got it towed to Cottmans..Kevin worked with me on the phone before the car showed up and was happy to help me figure out what was going on....My distributor was bad and within 45 minutes of my car arriving at the shop the distributor had been pulled out and the new one put in and my car was on its way...i was in shock!! thank you cottmans...you guys are awesome...I will never go any where else..the customer service was amazing and ive never had such a pleasant experience in a car repair shop!!!!
