I dont know what to say about Marks business now but I ordered a motor from has shop some years ago and it was all good... enough side
I just wanted to once again pass on another positive post about University Car Care’s outstanding Quality Service repairing my 2007 Avalanche.Mark and his team properly diagnosed/solved my Stabilitrak/ABS traction warning message issue which have plagued many Chevy dealerships and online Chevy Forums. They diagnosed, ordered all the parts, replaced the sensors, Spark plugs/wires in less than 5 hours.Again, if anyone is looking for a fast, reliable, trustworthy - salt of the earth mechanic; you can always count on University Car Care!
University Car Care went above and beyond in repairing/servicing my Truck. My Truck was making a grinding noise that caused some safety concerns. Not only did Mark test drive it, but he quickly determined that my hub assemblies were the root cause of the problem along with the rotors, brakes and CV axle.Mark was very honest, had the lowest prices in town and his mechanics efficiently repaired everything the same day.If you’re looking for an honest mechanic; you can count on University Car Care for your needs. Thank you again Mark!
Great place! My family has been using them for years starting with my dad in the 1990s... Does a honest job and doesnt over-charge..
They did a good job and they did it quickly. Very convenient.
They are amazing. I have gone to them for everything from rebuilding my gaskets to belt replacing. always price friendly and time efficient
Same day service. Professional and not overcharged, fixed my coolant leak quickly despite having several cars waiting to be repaired. Definitely will use again in future car maintenance needs
The men that work here are great and really go above and beyond to help you. I thought my alternator and battery were messed up but they found the actual problem and saved me and my mom alot of money. Also thought my battery had died and they came and gave me a jump and identified that the battery was just loose. Everyone is so kind and i would highly recommend them fr and its rare that I do reviews unless I have an amazing experience or a bad one and this time my experiences have been amazing
Best place to take your car for service
University Car Care Center has helped me out a number of times. They were able to identify the source of and fix a leak I had been trying to track down for months.
I asked for help and the boss gave me free advice. He also replaced my clutch and it works excellently and at a good price.
Mark and the other workers were very friendly and courteous in explaining to me what was wrong with my car and how to fix it. The services they provided were at an extremely reasonable rate, and the services performed were done quickly and professionally. I will recommend anyone I know to use this shop for their automotive care needs, as they will fix you up and send you on your way perfectly. This may be the best car repair shop in Baton Rouge. Definitely a hidden gem!
Great service.Professional staff.Reasonable prices.
Salt of the earth man, very honest. My grandmother was in ICU in Monroe, and I needed to immediately see her. My power steering was messing up. The owner honestly told me that I could make it there and back without getting it fixed, but that I would need it fixed soon. Its a rare kind of man that would do this for you! Highly recommend!
They are the best. Mark has been very professional and nice. He has saved a lot of my money. I cannot imagine going anywhere else.
DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!! I had my car towed after I notice it making this really loud noise and the ABS, BRAKE and Steering warning lights came on. They called saying my alternator and water pump needed to be fixed and it would cost over $500. Since I was referred there and they had nice reviews I took a chance. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! I went to pick up my car and ALL the warning light were still on and now the check engine light was also on. They excuse was I only told them about the water pump. Which is a lie, since I did not even know the water pump was the issue. I asked why are the lights were and why was they check engine light now on and now the speedometer does not work. According to him those problems werent what I asked him to fix and the check engine light is on is a new problem. According to Mark himself they dont do extra. Which is all BS, considering I asked him to fix my car in general. He then explained how he does not drive or check the cars to check things or all working. Which is also a lie considering he had to drive the car across the street to park, at which point he would have seen all the lights were still on. This man is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!! How as a mechanic you would allow a car back on the road with 4 warning lights on not inform the driver of a issue you failed to fix is WRONG!!!!!!!!!! I paid $500 to have them only fix have the problem!!!!!!!!! Do not trust him!!!!! Save yourself the trouble. How he has lasted this long is beyond me.
Excellent service and repair. Thank you, Mark!!!!!!!
I have been taking my cars to Mr. Mark for years. He is very knowledgeable and fair with pricing. He will only recommend doing work if it is necessary or practical. Thanks!
Go see Mark for a your vehicles repairs need.s at university car care very honest and dependable and reliable are located on Highland Road close to LSU if your a students and you need your vehicle repaired I recommend the university Car Care and they have a very friendly staff and they also sell non-ethanol gas at University Car Care and University Car Care has been in business for many years because they do things right at University Car Care .they also have towing for your vehicle available Terry Smith.
Do not be put off by the rustic appearance of this small garage. The service is excellent, fast, and fairly priced. I had my 20-yr-old minivans leaky radiator replaced in a few hours with no appointment a month ago and it has been running perfectly since. They even topped off all the fluids at no charge. Highly recommended! If you need somewhere to wait during the servicing, I suggest walking a couple blocks toward campus and hanging out at Highland Coffee or Chimes or one of the other nearby establishments.
Quick service and good price, will always recommend when in a pinch
Mr. Mark is a great guy. Hes fair as far as he wont do work for you if its not gonna help you. He is pretty pricey though.
My daughter attends college in Baton Rouge and since I wasnt familiar with the local mechanics, I had her take her car to the dealer for maintenance. During my last visit, I stumbled across University Car Care just to have the tire pressure checked. My daughters brake pads needed replacing, so I took a chance! Mike & Shak were very informative & knowledgeable; not to mention the price was right and the service was completed in a very timely manner. I feel comfortable knowing my daughters automotive care is in good hands!
UCCC was recommended to me by a friend and I have since been here several times. It is now the ONLY place I will take my Mercedes. For the same service I checked three different places but UCCC was by far the most reasonably priced. The staff is always accommodating and friendly; service is quick. I highly recommend this place!!
I have been going to these guys for seven years. Mark and his team are honest, dependable, and amazingly well priced. I am a novice mechanic myself, but it is almost always easier and negligibly cheaper to have these guys work on it. I have never been ripped off, scammed or hassled. I will continue to recommend these guys to everyone.
My car is older, a 2007 Chrysler 300 Base, and he always lets me know what the problem is, or when a proposed repair is not likely to help,, which saves money and time.
Ive taken my car there to have a complete tune up, and Mark and his staff completed it within 7 hours. Not only did he do that, he also called to tell my that my axle was badly damaged, and he replaced that with my permission, for a very reasonable cost. A year or so later, my alternator went out, and he replaced it for a very reasonable price. Not only did he do that, when my aunt didnt answer her phone that day to pay for the repair since she and Mark made a payment arrangement, he allowed me to take my car for the amount I had on me in cash and have her pay the rest the next day. And when I thought the alternator was faulty, I went back and he and his staff inspected and tested it for free, and told me that my battery was shot since my alternator went out. I recommend anyone to see Mark and his team! Definitely a great business with honest practices.
Ive been bringing my cars to Mark for years. Hes an honest mechanic and he does good work. I laughed just now reading a couple of the negative reviews people posted on here because not only has he saved me thousands upon of thousands of dollars over the years but my last two trucks have both made it over 400,000 miles, largely because of him.
Great fast service!
I’ve taken multiple vehicles owned into Mr Mark. Received excellent customer service, and quick turnaround every single time. I would give 6-stars if it was possible.
They told me I need a rear sway bar link for a rattling sound when I go over bumps. Then, I went to auto parts store and learnt that my car doesnt have a rear sway bar link. The salesperson called this shop to learn what really I need, and they told we do not remember checking a car and saying something like this
Excellent work fast an affordable. 10 year customer
Nice place and nice people
Car still giving us problems only after 4 months.
By far the most reasonable, ethical, and affordable place Ive ever taken my car to get fixed. Look no further if youre having car troubles. Youll be glad you chose them.
Great work performance and friendly people. Price was better than anyone else I checked with.
Very knowledgeable about vehicles. Provide WONDERFUL service..
Mark does solid work at very fair prices. I was so impressed by his honesty and dependability that after I had work done to my car, I took my girlfriends car to him for work that it needed.
Mark has done a great job with our vehicles. Hes good, honest and will always give you the best price available. He has quite a reputable clientelle. Highl recommend.
Hes been taking care of my cars for 20 years and has always been honest. One time he quoted me $150 and when I went to pick it up he said it would be $75 because he found a part from a junk yard - I would have never known.
Dont let the shops look fool you. Service there is actually expensive! My power window suddenly broke and needed a new regulator. Mark order an after-market regulator with delivery and had his staff installed it in a hour. The repair costed me $250, and I later found out that the retail price of an after-market regulator for my window was $29-87 on Amazon. There is no way that the regulator Mark ordered could cost $87, but he charged me $145 for it, $95 for installation labor. I managed to talk the price down a bit, but it is still too pricey.
Best place in town. Took my 2007 Range Rover Sport for complete brake job. Paretti wanted almost $3k. Mark at University Car Care did them for $1600. Paretti couldnt find anything wrong when I brought it back for my check up.
Took care of a starter ( in a Toyota truck) for me. Great work and price.
Good work. Not very expensive.
Decent price but I had to bring my car back the same week bc they did not fix the problem. After that the car is still not running the way it should but I wont be going back to them to look at it.
Dont do it! Stay away! 2 bad unrelated incidents is more than enough for me.. I took my wifes car here for them to repair the heater core. Upon picking up her car I turned on the a/c and noticed that the drivers side blew cold air while the passengers side was stuck on heat. I hadnt even left the parking lot when i informed him of the issue. Mark (the owner) immediately denied any and all responsibility and said that it must have been like that when we brought the car to him.. 2nd incident - A month later my dad took his pick up there for a leaking powersteering pump repair. Fine about $200.. A week later my dads powersteering pump was leaking again. After taking it back, Mark (the owner) told my dad that his case? was leaking now and it would be about another $200.. My dad took his truck to another mechanic that informed him that it was his powersteering pump. Since Mark again refused to warranty his work - my dad had to shell out extra cash for the job to be done correctly.
Good car care mechanic
The best place to take care of your car.
Great work product and customer service!!
Took its time to attend. Charge me $25 bucks just for telling me the problem that I already know and told me that he is not going to fix it anyway
I will never recommend this place to anyone. Very average services.
If you want to pay 25 bucks just for an engine light check, go there. I asked them to change engine oil for me, they put very cheap engine oil in the engine directly, leaving the old oil in there. NO filter change, NO window cleaner fill, and they charged me 35 bucks!!!
I have to keep brining my car back to b worked on!
Great Service took CARE of my Car
Speedy service with no fuss
Amazing service!!
Great staff
Good experience
