Just annoying when we’ve been here before and spent $100+ The second time we come to buy earrings for a present. Waiting at door until two blonde ladies cut us and stand right in front of door and employee almost immediately opens door….look around store and old lady with dark hair follows us around acting like she’s fixing stuff or organizing things everywhere we go…It was almost comedic. Would literally walk around to just to see her follow us. Seemed like she be great to work for…Once again spent $50 and never again. Congrats on this business practice.

This was definitely the most interesting little shop on the strip.Tesoros was filled with clothes, jewelry, household items, postvards, etc all from or inspired by various cultures. Just to name a few, I saw Japanese kimonos, Mexican woven hats, Indian jewelry containers, and African rugs. Some of the items were rather expensive, but do keep in mind that some of these items are (allegedly) sourced directly from their native countries.I definitely recommend checking this place out if youre looking for something a little different.

A interesting novelty shop on congress Street. Lots of Hispanic themed artwork, decor, and home goods.Store is pretty big and has a wide variety of items. We ourselves did not have problems with the staff, and was actually impressed with the helpfulness of several.I would say some things after some research are overpriced a bit too much. Not everything, but some. This does not take away though the fact that this store has some great unique items.

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but I had an awful experience here. It was a sunny Tuesday afternoon and the door was locked. You had to wait for an employee to open the door, and when a lady came over, instead of a friendly and welcoming greeting, she immediate said I needed to either put on gloves or sanitize my hands right away, then proceeded to tell me my mask wasn’t up high enough, then when I tried to explain it was a medical issue and I had a very painful nasal/sinus surgery and could not pull it up to that part of my nose, she said “you have to get out!” What?!? If you are that paranoid, I highly recommend staying home. I happily took my business elsewhere! There are plenty of other great shops within walking distance with excellent customer service.

Definitely on the tourist route- as good a place as any on Congress Ave to pay lots of money for souvenirs. The store is similar to others selling nick nacks in the area (I guess they have to charge their prices due to overheads and expensive rent in the area). If its a choice to sit down and listen to some of the live music in the area or go nick nack shopping I know where I want to be.Parking can be a little fun when busy over the weekend, definitely a very upmarket store.

Covid Era: Most safety aware business I have been to since the start of the pandemic. Limited store capacity, hand sanitizer and gloves at entry, and everyone wearing masks. Most importantly all three rules were actually respected and enforced. It was so comfortable that I definitely spent more money (as a way to vote with my dollars) but who doesnt love some of the stuff at Tesoros.

I absolutely LOVE this store! I live in suburban Austin and rarely make it to town unless I have to, but whenever we have out-of-town guests whove never been to Austin before, this place is right there at the top of the list of places to take them. You could spend an hour here and not see everything. LOADS of arts and crafts from around the world at very reasonable prices.

Great merchandise, but I have to echo previous reviewers about the staffs attitude. A friend and I were purchasing a gift when it started to pour outside. I asked if we could have a plastic sack so we could put my friends shoes in it (suede shoes she didnt want to get wet). The manager responded rudely that they dont give plastic but I could have a paper sack for my purchase. I asked if I could get another paper sack to put her shoes in and, after smirking at me, she said no, we dont do that.I was kind of taken aback. I completely understand not wanting to give extra sacks for fear someone may use them to walk off with merchandise, but we were purchasing stuff, about to walkout the door, and it was pouring outside. It wasnt the fact that they wouldnt give us the extra sack, it was how rude they were about it. I cant say Ill ever go back after that experience.

Im sorry but if you have to be this rude to a customer then you dont need my business. Plenty of other on South congress that sell the same knick knacks.

Whatever the occasion you are celebrating, birthday gift, wedding barmitvah Tesoros in Austin has that special gift. You dont come to Austin to buy New York, or Brooklyn goods you come to Austin to keep it weird.Tesoros is a neighborhood staple, some of the employees have been there for decades and their passion for their inventory and community are obvious by the way they treat the shoppers, like a primo. There is jewelry, gold, silver, stones braceletes, at all pricepoints. Some of my favotire little studs I bought here for under a dove ($20.00). Ther are gemstones and cute little dresses, ceramic dishes and lots of cool art.Something special are also the Milagros, they have some from Peru and some from Mexico, they make great little gifts.Overall I highly recommend this place.

Just left the store. Yes has great merchandise but some of the staff are not welcoming. My wife found 2 pairs of earrings on a rack labeled $4.00 once at the counter the girl told us they were $18 a piece as my wife paid for the rest of the stuff I walked over to the rack to find a lady taking them off too which I said this is where my wife found the earrings. This lady rudely said, I KNOW THATS WHAT I WAS TELLING HER (pointing to the other worker who was really nice) THEY SHOULDNT BE THERE. So I walked back to the register with my wife. Asked the young lady at the register who that rude lady was...come to find out she is the manager (Julia). She approached the register and I told her, the way you responded to me was kind of rude and I didnt appreciate a simple Im sorry sir but they were on the wrong rack could have done she looked at me with a smerk and said well sorry as we walked out this lady proceeds to talk about us with other staff at the register and starts laughing. I believe its a great store but if all the managers are like this Julia lady then I will pass. I am usually one to comment on the good but this was a humiliating experience that should not go unlooked cause I would hate for anyone else to go through this. Thank you to the young lady with the short spikey hair and beautiful smile that returned our purchase after this whole mess happened we did not care to keep the products. And to Julia a little constructive criticism: when working in retail a smile and politeness go a long way with staff and customers alike. Thank You
