PC Genie did a great job fixing my computer of some serious problems. I had downloaded cleaning software and tried all kinds of fixes for the problem myself without success. The communication with PC Genie was seamless, and Jeremy answered all my questions patiently. The repair saved me the cost of buying a new computer, and it boots up faster than it did when I bought it. I will return to PC Genie for computer repairs in the future.

Update: 2-12-15 Great service yet again! Tim and his team are great. I had an old laptop that wouldnt hold a charge, but really wanted the data retrieved. I called Tim and asked if he would be able to help, and he said that it wouldnt be a problem. I brought in my dead laptop with an external hard drive and they did the data transfer quickly and accurately! All of my old files have been recovered and Im so glad to have all my old pictures and music back. I dropped off at 10am and was able to pick up at 10am the next day. Thanks for all of your help!Tim was very helpful! I brought my laptop in because the screen was blacking out / glitching. Fortunately it was just a one time thing, and it began working perfectly as soon as I brought it in to the shop (must be magic!). He was able to explain to me the possibilities of what could have caused my issue and tips for what to do if it happens again. I was very appreciative of his time and he seems like a very genuine guy who really enjoys helping other and is passionate about computers. If anything else happens, Im definitely bringing my laptop only here and I suggest yall do the same!

I dropped my lap computer off to have a virus clean up done. Willie helped me and was very nice diagnosing what he thought I needed to do. It took 3 days to get my computer back, and so far its running great! So much faster than it was!

Brought my computer in as it appeared to need an exorcist. Willie quickly deciphered it was a new keyboard that was needed. Upon getting the new keyboard, he told me the one ordered came damaged and was willing to let me take my computer back, since it was working with the new but damaged keyboard, and switched out the second reordered keyboard a week later at no extra charge. Quick, knowledgeable, and very professional. Recommend for anyone.

Tim is a really friendly guy and really came through when I needed my laptop fixed. He even stayed after hours to complete the work while I waited behind the workbench chatting with him and learning how these things are assembled. I highly recommend this place to get your PC repaired.

I had a broken key on my laptop. After a bit of research it was clear that the entire keyboard would need to be replaced. I emailed multiple Austin shops for a quote. Willies response was the quickest and the most professional. He gave a detailed explanation of what to expect and the cost. I bought a replacement keyboard online and brought it to Willie about a week later. He inspected the computer and new keyboard thoroughly to make sure the part was in good condition. He explained the process of replacing it in detail and said the repair would be done in three days. It was done in two days and works perfectly. Ill definitely be back.

Willie was extremely helpful. He presented me with a couple of possibilities while I was still in the store and also called me with an updated diagnosis. When it turned out to be something less expensive than he originally thought, he let me know. I lot of places would have gone ahead and replaced it and screwed you for the higher price. Willie is very honest.

Im very happy with the quality of service and communication I received from PCGenie. They went the extra mile to save me money by buying a machine so they could install a cheaper part ($199) vs. install a part that had more than I needed repaired without a machine needed ($350). Jeremy is receptive to feedback and a pleasure to deal with. I feel like he operates his business with the highest integrity and I would trust this company again with my next computer issue.

Willie answered several questions by email before I ever took my laptop in. This helped me diagnose the issue and get it resolve correctly, as well as create a more customized resolution. Service was prompt and courteous. Location in busy part of town, but was ample 30 minute parking at both drop off and pick up.

Very fast, cheap, and great customer service!After waiting 2 weeks for the guys at Mr. Notebook to get to repairing my computer, I got annoyed and picked it up and dropped it off here on a Thursday. I had it back the next Monday! He started researching it even before I brought it in and he calls every time he finds out something new about the repair process. That was a nice change from Mr. Notebook where I dropped it off and didnt hear from them for 2 weeks unless I went into the store to check on the computer. He also did other little repairs to my computer that I wasnt expecting and he didnt charge me for them. He even cleaned my laptop, which was very nice!! Definitely great service! Theres a reason this guy only has 5 star reviews. I dont know why anyone would go anywhere else.

It is so refreshing to work with real people when it comes to such personal issues as your computer. The fix for my computer took so long. They reviewed and tested and trouble shot for so long, caring for my computer the way my father (master mechanic) cares for my car. This time i had to be actively involved because it seemed like their expansion is not quite as tight a ship as before their move last year. Or maybe the issue was just that difficult to detect and resolve. But the fact is that my feedback was completely received, my issue totally attended to, and the final price actually a little less than the initial quote. Bring your business here because i cant imagine many other companies taking that kind of personal time and attention without charging lots more. Btw the owner is on the board of the better business bureau. I could tell, as he picked up the ball and made sure my issue was resolved. I can only hope that their team gets stronger so that more folks can be helped. Special thanks to Joseph for all your effort. They gave me a part instead of charging. They gave me a free year of antivirus. Rick gave me a lot of personal attention. I would have been pissed about the inconvenience of the delays had i not already gone through a process and problem with this computer since its purchase. They did a good job of keeping me from getting angry, and that can only be achieved through courteous attentive communication and willingness to adopt better methods.

The customer service that Willie provided was great. He was willing to take the time to talk with me and explain what he thought the problem was and what his approach would be to fix it. Actually, the first time I took in my computer he took about 15 minutes to look at it, tweak some things in order to see if it was a simple problem, and he did it for free. When it turned out that wasnt the problem, and I took my computer back, he once again took the time to explain what the most likely problem was. He fixed my computer, had it ready for me ahead of schedule, installed new anti virus software and the works, and even cleaned it for me, so now my computer runs AND looks like its brand new. All of this service, and for the same price as what it would cost for the Geek Squad at Best Buy just to look at it. I will definitely take my computer to Willie at PC Genie in the future.

Quickly and effectively migrated my enormous Outlook file (I am one of those who keeps all my stuff in Outlook forever and ever, including attachments) from old to new work laptop, saving me a ton of time and frustration. And a note to the Genie - It was a perfectly clean migration, the rules are working!

Spoke to Jeremy and he said he would be able to check my computer out same day. I spefically said I would be there in 20. He said there was one person ahead of me, so I was pepapred to wait. I get there and the front desk tell me they havent seen him all day and he has odd hours; therefore, he arrives whenever he arrives. Common courtesy would have been to let me know he was not in the office at the time I called. I waited for 30 min and front desk has no idea what time to expect him. Complete waste of time and highly unprofessional. What’s the point of listing the hours of business???

Fixed my computer with really fast turn around and at an affordable price!

I took my laptop to PC G around mid April 2013 and had a virus removed. It took 1 day and Willie was a very polite/organized guy. Everything fixed and got a virus/spyware killer installed. $70 out the door. Theres 30 min parking out front and i was lucky and was able to park for drop-off and pick-up too. Honestly, the best computer repair guy Ive encountered so far.

This place is just first-rate. Competent, courteous, friendly, reasonably priced, prompt service. What more is there to say? Five Stars.

Wow! Where do I start? I chose PC Genie based on all the positive reviews on Google, now I have the pleasure of adding to them. Willie provided excellent service on my laptop. Even though a part had to be ordered the turnaround was very fast, and even quicker than originally quoted. The pricing by far beats any repair/service shops I have used in the past. He even went above and beyond to accomodate my need to get immediate graphic design work underway. I would highly recommend PC Genie to anyone in the Austin area in need of computer services.

Great service. These genies managed to salvage VERY important documents from my previously dysfunctional laptop. Not such a hefty price considering what I could have easily lost. I am forever thankful.

Zero stars if I could. Stay away. Their performance is poor, their customer service is even worse. We needed to get a cracked screen replaced on a laptop. Apparently they were having problem(s) with technicians, which caused a delay in repairing the computer. This was not explained to us when the computer was dropped off. Weeks later they called us to tell us it was ready. Except the touchscreen was not working. So we had them try again, more delay. The next time we were told it was ready, it was not yet re-assembled. More delay without even an apology. We just went to pick it up for the third time. Par for the course, there was nobody there for at least 25 minutes after opening time (dont know what time they actually showed, we had gone to run other errands). Now, there is a smudge of some sort on the inside of the screen that the technician did not notice until we pointed it out. The answer to that problem? You got it, let them try again. No thank you. I actually need to use my device. This process took nearly two months and PC Genie wasnot concerned about the timeline or their ability to make things right. My advice to you...Stay away unless you have money and time to burn. Oh yeah, and low expectations too.

Willie was great! He gives a free consultation to explain what he thinks the problem is and how much it will likely cost. Once I agreed to go ahead with getting my laptop fixed, he was very quick with getting it fixed and back to me. He also let me keep the old screen and walked me through everything he was going to do to fix it and how he tested it (because I was interested).The best part though, as a student with a need for my laptop during and after classes, he was VERY helpful in working around my schedule and being quick. I dropped off my laptop in the morning and he had figured out the problem before my classes started in the afternoon. Then I dropped my laptop off again in the morning when the new part came in and he had it all fixed before my classes started.GREAT SERVICE! You need to go to Willie (PC Genie) if you have computer problems.

They were supposed to replace the battery in my mac. Took way longer to do so than they first told me when dropping it off. Within days the battery also seemed to not beholding a charge, so I went to the Apple store where they confirmed that PC Genie had put in a faulty battery. Ended up having to go somewhere else to have it replaced yet again, after PC Genie refused to honor their own warranty. Stay away from these guys, theyre extremely shady and incompetent.

Thanks to PC Genie, my laptop was held up for a week for some malware issues. Apparently they needed 60+ hours to remove that malware. I recommend you inquire your approximate pick up time on a daily basis. They will probably say its going to be done soon as the response every time.

Very excellent shop to go to for computer problems. Willie even provided multiple options that I could choose from regarding my computer. Even with my dumb questions he answered making sure I knew exactly what he way saying :)

PC Genie did not correctly estimate the work required to repair my PC. Because not all of the needed parts were ordered initially, a job that should have taken one week took two. Mistakes happen, but PC Genie was not very apologetic and did not offer to make it up to me by rushing the part or by giving me a discount. Ill look elsewhere next time I need my computer repaired.

The people say what you want to hear and there is NO follow through. Everyone is very pleasant, butthe service is horrible. I was told my computer would be ready the following week - I continued to call and was given repeated excuses. It is going on my fourth week - I call and am told I will be called back that day - never happens. most FRUSTRATING experience ever - worse than Comcast. They must be writing their own good reviews because I dont see it. NEVER AGAIN

I spilled orange juice on my computer, and I was absolutely devastated. I even tried cleaning and fixing it myself, but I couldnt understand why it still didnt work. I thought Id ruined my brand new computer forever. So I took it to Willie at PC Genie, and he must actually be a genie because he worked a miracle! He took the time to show me the parts of the motherboard that were ruined, and fixed it quickly, with excellent customer service.Go see him! I will definitely be coming back for any computer issues. In the IT business, we all have those personal clients that come into the place we work and get comfortable with us enough to call us to their homes off hours. I have a good friend that I met this way and he spends part of the year in Austin. There are some things that cant be fixed over 1,000 miles across the country and I needed a resource to send my friend to when hes in Austin. I always make decisions based on google reviews and PC Genie did not disappoint. My friend emailed back to inform me that this is his computer HQ when hes over there. My laptops power jack was broken. Took it to Willie for repair. He is very professional, polite, and knowledgeable about computers. He fixed my laptop within reasonable time and after that my laptop was problem-free.

I could not be happier with the service I received from Willie. My Dell laptop had been out of commission for almost five months, spending two months of that time in another repair shop. Nobody seemed able to figure out what was wrong with it. I took the laptop to PC Genie as a last-ditch effort before buying a new one, and I am so glad I did. Willie explained everything to me in clear language, without patronizing, and the computer was back (and running perfectly!) after just a day. The usual response when a customer has had less than great results is to apologize and offer to do better. I had less than stellar results from them with the new owners, and no longer patronize PC Genie. Wish I knew where Willie went!!ORIGNIAL REVIEW: I took our virus-laden PC into PC Genie on Saturday and had it back in working order by Wednesday. It cost me all of $50 with the Saturday coupon on his website. The virus had completely disabled the computer and I had spent 7 hours trying to get rid of it to no avail. The guy I previously used charged me $65 and hour and did terrible work. PC Genie is great - highly recommended!**UPDATE***Took the same computer back a year later when the power supply blew and my kids had messed up many OS files by accessing downloads with trojans. Willie put in a brand new power supply and reinstalled the OS while saving my valuable old document and photo files. He is really good, and a nice guy to boot! For about $100, Ive extended the life of a 7 year old computer that many others would have trashed.

After hearing the diagnostic fee of $99 I decided shop around. Ended up with a diagnostic fee that was half of that at Discount Electronics. They removed the cause of the problem within 4 hours at no extra charge. Avoid the traffic and parking issues and saves $$$$$.
