I attempted to replace my iPhone 8 battery and managed to tear a cable. I called various cell phone repair services in Austin, and ran up against would not, could not, or exorbitant prices. The friendly and competent young man at The Austin Cell Phone store fixed all I had broken as well as my cracked screen ... fast service, great expertise for a very fair price. This will be my go to place for any issues with my iPhone or tablet. Highly recommend.

Fixed my note 10 screen in just about an hour and a half. Not only did they fix my cracked screen, they put the best glass screen protector I have ever seen on my phone. Zero bubbles or a way for dust to get between the protector and glass like other tempered glass protectors. Very courteous and professional staff! Definitely the place to go to get your phone fixed.

It’s funny how my frame wasn’t bent until after I brought it back. You didn’t mention a bent frame over the phone. First you blamed the glue for not being strong enough. When I wasn’t convinced you proceeded to blame me.

Have had the pleasure of working with The Austin Cell Phone several times over the past few years, and each time Alfonso and staff have made me feel like I was their ONLY customer, when clearly the opposite is true. These folks are genuine, stand behind their work (always great) and are so happy to help. KUDOS to the Mom & Pop shop atmosphere, where good works and honesty, are still King. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I went to this business Thursday of last week. I needed my screen replaced because it had a green vertical line. The salesman was polite and very knowledgeable and they took my phone right away and it was a very quick process. But, two days later I noticed that my phone was cracked. I didn’t drop it or throw it or anything where I thought maybe this would mess the screen up. I just noticed it when I went to check my phone. Over the next couple of days it cracked in three other places. Making that for places that it cracked. I have never had a problem with a cracked phone before. And, since I just got the phone screen replaced. I thought that it might be a bum screen. I went back to see if I could get them to replace it. They told me that it was my fault. Even though I have never cracked a screen in my life and in less than a month this screen cracked four times. I would not recommend this place. Please take your phone repair to a legit place

My husband brought his troublesome iPhone 6S in to get a new battery. Hector got him finished in 30 minutes and even taught him a trick to clean his hearing device(that slit at the top of the phone) with a toothbrush and some alcohol and it worked great!! Hector also noted that they use only original factory batteries at a great price! Great friendly service!!

Smashed my Iphone screen. Made a few calls around and got the best price quote from these guys. Dropped it off with Hector and he told me it would be ready in 40 minutes. Picked it up and its good as new! Great service and reasonable price!

Initially had a great experience with this company, but when my iPhone screen kept delaying and hesitating, a small crack also showed up. I was unfortunately still eligible for a replacement, but they wouldn’t give me one because the screen cracked. I’ve had iPhones for 10 years and they’ve never cracked without dropping, so I’m pretty disappointed with this service and company, especially since my replacement was less than 3 weeks ago!

Ill never go here for anything. I called the day before to get a quote on repairing screen on 2 Galaxy Note 9 phone as they were going to be traded in and I would not have the time to devote to doing it myself. I was quite $169 each by the person on the phone - which was clearly overheard by another person as i was on speakerphone - and I said Great. Ill come by tomorrow. Drove all the way over the next day, get masked up, take the phone inside and get greeted by a guy. I start relaying the durian and conversation from the previous day, and he interrupts me when I got to what I was quoted with No, wait. No way at $169. I told him thats what i was told and he starts looking up stuff on the computer, and his proof to me is a parts page showing $259.. which really proved nothing. I started that was going to be nearly $200 more than I was quoted and he kind of shrugged. Didnt bother to check with any one else that might have taken the call, etc. but he was kinda snotty about it too. Not for me. I left. (this occurred in early August)**Updated 9/14/2020Im editing my review because the owners reply doesnt include a respond button.As any other consumer can tell, every single one-star review about multiple complaints on service is met with an excuse that never once accepts a shred of responsibility - and there are many of those one-star reviews. You can read them yourselves. The response I received was:I appreciate your feedback but there must have been some sort of major miscommunication. What we often see happen is when calling in to get a quote were given a completely different model than what they really have.If we truly did misquote you (unlikely) then Im sorry for that. Theres no way we can honor that repair quote and nobody else will even come close.We are very competitive when it comes to our repairs and can repair most models other repair shops cant.You can also save yourself some money by doing it yourself which I wouldnt recommend. My response is:If the phone call Id made the day before had NOT been on my speakerphone and heard by another individual, I might even say I misheard the quote, but I didnt and the other individual heard the exact same thing I did. I knew exactly what kind of phone I had, didnt give the wrong model number, and ONLY chose your establishment because of the price given on the phone. We had two of the same model phone, and I knew exactly what I was saying. Perhaps it was your staff member who either didnt pay close enough attention when I called or looked up the wrong model, but if that was the error, it was not on our end. However, you reiterate in your response that it was unlikely that you misquoted - so the apology you offer isnt really genuine.You then tell me I can save money by doing it my self - there by a recommendation - immediately followed up by which I wouldnt recommend. That is completely nonsensical to even bring up. You can do it yourself, but I sure wouldnt try! Whyyyyyyyyyy even bother mentioning it then?You also end each of your customers rebuttals with Best of luck finding another repair shop, which guarantees that no one who reads their responses from you will step foot - or recommend - into your shop ever. If you cant honestly take away the issues that apparently many have had in your shop as some kind of constructive criticism, why bother? All your responses are just a condescending We didnt make a mistake and it must be your fault; NOT the sign of a successful or open-minded business owner. So, good luck in your own future endeavors; we definitely know where not to bring cell phone issues in the future.

My experience was the same as shared here, and so will remain loyal to this business with its friendly and professional customer service that is transparent. My phone received the best option possible from Hector’s research. Its repair was faster than expected and at a reasonable cost. Trustworthy.

This place sucks. I only gave it a star because I had to but if it was my choice, I’d give it 0 stars. I was traveling from Michigan to Austin for the weekend and my phone screen shattered because I dropped it. I quickly went to this place trusting that they’d do a great job replacing my iPhone 6s screen for a good price. When I picked up my phone after they had “fixed it” I saw that a part of the screen was lifted up... I didn’t pay much attention to it because I was just happy my screen was brand new and working. Within 2 hours, my screen stopped working completely. The phone itself was working fine but the screen wouldn’t let me touch anything. So I went back immediately just to find that the shop had already been closed, I had missed it by 45 minutes. Better yet, they were also closed on Sunday so I had no luck because I went back home on a Sunday. My job requires me to be on my phone at all times, so I can’t be without it for more than a day. Once I got home, I had a friend (who is a phone technician and also owns his own company) replace the crappy screen once again. Come to find out, the Austin Cell Phone gave me a PLASTIC, OFF BRAND, CHEAP SCREEN THAT I PAID $85 JUST SO IT COULD BREAK WITHIN 2 HOURS. Also tried calling them to get a refund and they “can’t do anything about it”.Moral of the story is, don’t waste your money on cheap crappy places like the Austin Cell Phone. They’re a total rip off and they know it.

My daughter saved her money from babysitting all summer for a new phone. She found the phone she was looking for and they helped her out with a phone case. They offer a 30-day guarantee and told us if we couldnt use the phone with our provider, we could return the phone (we have a very strict provider). Thank goodness it worked so we dont need to worry about that. Thanks for your quick and friendly service! Will recommend to others.

The service was super fast and very friendly. Not only are the repair prices extremely reasonable, the technicians seem very competent. I brought in an iPhone I thought was possibly smashed beyond repair, but the tech behind the counter said with much confidence, Oh yeah, we can fix that. Sure enough, I walked out of there a short time later with a perfectly fixed iPhone for the advertised price. This is now my go-to mobile device repair shop.

They claim to buy used electronics but dont mention on the website that it has to be no older than 3 years. This is a college town. Word is word is word and runs fine on anything. Just use eBay.

I confirm what others said: Dont let the odd location fool you. They have great service, affordable (iPhone5 glass, with right side having stripes and not allow touch, replaced in 30 min for $87). Would definitely recommend.

After my Iphone7 stopped charging, I googled why phone not charge, blah blah, did all that the interweb suggested and came to the conclusion that the phone needs to see a specialist. Yelp lets you ask for quotes from several different cell phone repair shops. Alfonso, responded immediately. He said they could take a look into the phone free of charge but he assumed that the charging port needed to be replaced,if thats the case, itll cost 59 bucks.I soon received other quotes from the other repair shops and they all said about the same thing, it would either cost me $25 or nothing to have them open up the phone and clean it . Im like ok, but if it needs a new charging port, how much would that be and if they just opened it and cleaned it, are they going to charge me for the charging port on top of the $25 cleaning fee?The estimate from almost everyone besides Austin Cell Phone was 89-99 bucks and they were so sure that it wouldnt be the charging port. Im 100% positive that I made the right decision and went with Austin Cell Phone. I was greeted by Hector, he told me to come back in an hour, I came back in two hours, my phone was finally ON! HALLELUJAH. This place is great!

Really bad service. He didnt even check to see if his repairs on my iPhone worked. So I had paid over 100 dollars for a repair that I later got home just to realize that it didnt even work. The employee was rude. And didnt even want to fix the situation. I dont recommend this cell phone repair shop to anyone. And I think they do a horrible job representing the Austin city for cell phone repair.

Austin Cell Phone Sold me a Water Damaged Cell Phone! Purchased an I phone 5 from Austin Cell Phone in July, the phone died in August. Brought it back to Austin Cell Phone they opened it up and they said that it had been water damaged and was beyond repair. I did not get it wet, so I am assuming that it was water damaged when I walked out the of the store. $250 for two months worth of service - I was ripped off.

I use Austin Cell Phone for screen repairs on our ipads and iphones at work on a regular basis. Our employees crack screens all the time (unfortunately), but the work here is always very timely and fixed well.

4th time to replace an iPad screen...fast service, reasonable price, and excellent customer attention. Highly recommended.

All responses from owner states they all do no wrong and your custermers are all wrong .I wrote about half the glass not secured down and caused the glass to break and you say the glass only breaks if dropped .Any time glass that is no level and you push on it glass breaks and you owning a iPad glass repair shop should know this . Or you just plain dont care ..When you choose money over your return custermers you get a person like me that will not refer you any more nor spend any more money with you .The repair was horrible and the iPad was not dropped and I dont even think this was a factory iPad glass like I was told ...And to think no employ makes any mistakes is arragent and borderline narcissistic.Keep your warranty it is worthless

My toddler daughter broke the screen on my sons iPad mini. This place was cheap and promised a quick turnaround so I gave it a try. They did replace the screen quickly and at a reasonable price but on my way home Siri kept activating without the button being pushed so I called them and brought it back the following day. They called toward the end of the day and said that they had fixed the problem, but again on my way home the same problem occurred. So I went back again. They called again and said they fixed it and when I got home the same thing. Apparently the cheap aftermarket parts werent compatible with the iPad, but eventually the problem was resolved. Then about a month later my daughter cracked the screen again so I decided to go to a place that Ive used before with success. They replaced the screen but when I picked it up they asked if the iPad mini had been repaired before. I told them that it had and asked why they were inquiring. They said the reason they asked was that when they removed the screen and digitizer they found that some screws were missing from the inside. Bottom line is I guess you get what you pay for.

They didnt have what I needed when I walked in, but gave me a discount to compensate. Totally fair and good work.
