Spent nearly $200 for them to jumpstart my car and tell me i needed a new battery (which i had to go to another business to install) when what I really had was a broken starter.

Ken responds to his text right away. If you are stranded on the road he shows up and fixes it. However give him at least 24 hours to come out. Reasonable prices and saves us the towing expense if you are stuck. Highly recommended

I wrote a review before this saying this was a scam and let me openly say it is far from that. I DO RECOMMEND THEM OVERALL. I was wrong and indicated that he did not know what he was doing, but he clearly did. I do still stand by the whole experience is not very professional, so do not expect any kind of paperwork, assessment, or bill of sale of what is done which is why I still rate it a 4. However, he fixed my girlfriends car within a day, and only charged me a total of $250 for parts and labor for replacing an alternator. I suggest they work on legitimizing the business but he quickly fixed my issues.

He was polite, patient, and I liked that he took the time to give explanation on his analysis as we went(Im not good with cars). Uncovered issues with the car that the dealer missed(or hid) with their supposed inspection. Money well spent, I didnt buy the car. Ken was punctual and professional. My starter went out while I was on campus and Ken had me sorted and on my way before my next class. He even gave me tips on running my AC to help get more out of my compressor and helped mep out some rims for my car. All in all he was a top notch mechanic and an all around nice guy.

Other than being an excellent mechanic, Ken is honest and genuine and will not try to scam you for money. This is the only mechanic I will call when the problem goes beyond my knowledge. Highly recommend.

They dont mention it anywhere on the site or when you speak to them about a $100 dollar min service visit. (Even if they dont do any service, and waste your time, and money). The mobile mechanic came to my house did a pressure test, and couldnt explain why it was working correctly. Checked my vehicle, and it was fine. Like most Austinites, I love supporting our local, small businesses. For some reason, I was always nervous about hiring a local mechanic, I guess having some fancy brand name instilled confidence. Well no more, Ive found the guy to go to for anything that may go wrong with my car. Best of all, HE COMES TO YOU!Car battery died at 2am, got a jump start and made it home. 5am its dead again. After sleeping on it, I decided to search for a local mechanic and was intrigues by the notion of him coming to me. Noon, I called. By 3pm, I had a new battery in my car, at a VERY competitive rate. I couldnt be happier.BTW, I asked and hes been doing this 15 years, so hes very experienced. Plus, hes the nicest guy you could hope to meet. Be advised, no credit cards.

The mechanic who was supposed to come look at my car, failed to do so both days scheduled as well as arrive on time within the appointment time. I am a college student and ensured to articulate such to express my limited time within the day due to class or work. He acted as if he understood, yet still was unsuccessful in being a professional. Go to Cornerstone as you will save time, money, and aggravation. There is no reason to lie but only an attempt to WARN OTHERS. I could name plenty of other places to choose from besides here. If you truly want to know ask any other mechanic shop and they will all tell you the shady behavior of this “company”.

Ken helped me out big time with a car that was stuck on the fifth floor of a parking garage. He was super patient as one problem led to another and the fix ended up taking much longer than he anticipated. In the end though he saved me a ton of money, was as quick as he could be while still being thorough, and kept me updated throughout the entire process.

They came out pretty quick and changed my battery. The only problem is that he didnt put all the fasteners on my wheel well so it ripped off my car while I was driving.

Great service, fast. Truck wouldnt start on the 5th floor of a parking garage and wouldnt take a jump. Called Mobile Mechanic and they came by the same afternoon. Initially thought it was the starter but concluded it was a dead battery. Brought a new battery and replaced it on the spot. Fast, convenient and reasonably priced. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Needed a battery and the time and repair was simple and quick on a weekend. I thought the price was fair because they came out on a Sunday to do the battery change.

Ken was really nice. Although in my experience mobile mechanics tend not to show up exactly when they say they will, they can save you a lot of money and effort. I highly recommend that if you can wait for their convenience that you skip the towing fees and high labor cost of a traditional mechanic. I had a pleasant experience with Mobile Mechanic Austin and Ken went out of his way to be helpful.

Very knowledgeable. I told him what was wrong over the phone he showed up with the parts at my house. Saved me money on a tow and my baby has been purring every since. He even gave me a couple of maintenance tips and did i mention saved me money!!! Just out of curiosity I called a repair shop and just their estimate was almost double. Kim is amazing caring member of this team who helped us resolve a car issue whilst visiting Austin. We had rang the garage after reading Yelp reviews and the Mechanic was apprehensive about seeing us saying how they were so busy but we could drop off the car that was making a noise the bottom cover had become loose hence dragging as you accelerated. We were so worried and needed to get back to Htown the same day. We still decided to drive in and Kim served us listening patiently. Within the hour they had sorted out the minor problem and we were on our way. The Mechanic who spoke earlier with us on the phone was extremely abrupt with us questioning us and talking over Kim clearly annoyed that the car had been seen too. I found this quite hurtful in a time when we were desperate for support. Kim stayed very professional throughout this uncomfortable time. My friend and I thanked her with a hug and lift a tip for the lovely person who checked the car for us. 5 mins job and the Mechanic had made such a fuss🤔. I appreciate that they have cars booked and cant have people just expecting to be seen straight away but we just needed it checked if it was a much bigger issue then of course I can appreciate the time scale but really😊. Thanks to Kim we were back on the road in no time.

Ken was awesome! I live 3 hours from Austin and was just in town to have some lunch with a friend when my car would not start when I went to drive back. I believe he was an hour away from me but he drove over, assessed the problem, and fixed it within an hour. Ken did a great job diagnosing my car when it wouldnt start. it was a bad fuel pump and he charged a fair price to replace it. He was a little delayed in responding to my communication and finishing repairs which is why I dont give him a full five stars (started Sunday, didnt show up Monday, finished Tuesday morning) but at the same time I understand its his schedule, hes helping other people too and it was still way better to have someone come to the house then the headache of towing it somewhere. Id use him again.

I called Ken about an issue with my coolant system. I had a torn hose. He showed up quickly and replaced the hose within the hour and charged me $120. A couple days later, my car was overheating again and I called again he said it was “probably nothing” and that “sometimes that just happens”. He told me I needed to replace my catalytic converter and that was the cause of the issues i was having with starting and driving my car—a $700 job. 1 week later and my head gasket blows. I took my car to a shop and another mechanic told me this most likely happened due to the hose replacement. I was told that the radiator needed to be “burped” after replacing the part and refilling the coolant, and that if it was not done this could potentially lead to continued overheating. The overheating caused irreversible damages and I suffered a total loss of the vehicle.

These guys came out after hours when my alternator went out on the on the highway price was amazing and they even went to the extreme and brought me water.

Scheduled same-day service to fix what I thought was a faulty starter in my car. Ken responded immediately to my text around 2:30 and we scheduled a service at 4. I was quoted $300-400 for parts and labor to replace the starter.He arrived at 4:45 and almost immediately ruled out the problem being the starter based off the sound my car made when turning the ignition. He cleaned all the corrosion off my battery, fixing the issue immediately. Afterwards, he told me how I could tell whether the issue was the starter or one with the battery connection (like I had in this instance).At the end of the day, I paid $100 for something I could have done myself (cleaning corrosion off), but Ken was honest about the issue and taught me how to fix it going forward. He could have easily lied and replaced my perfectly good starter and charged much more for a service I did not need.

I had a Chrysler Sebring convertible with a battery light that kept going on and off turned out to be a bad alternator Ken was extremely professional he called me before he came over and fixed it in a timely manner for a reasonable price this was a week ago, I waited to write this review to make sure that my vehicle was in good running condition and this could be an honest review and I am happy to say my vehicle is in great running condition thank you very much Ken, I will definitely be passing his number along.

My ex-wife called me about 8pm. Her car wouldnt start. She said it would make a clicking sound. Im thinking possibly a battery thing. I suggested to her researching mobile mechanics. She found this one, called, and left a message. The guy (Randy), contacted her via text messages. Told her via text about an extra charge for it being after hours. Told her in the texts when he could be there. She waited. He never showed up. So, I reckon Ill be taking care of it tomorrow.

I was in Austin visiting from out of town with my wife and 5 kids. The alternator went out and our van was stuck in the parking garage. I was a little panicked due to it being a holiday weekend. Ken was a life saver. He got the part and came out on Labor Day getting us headed back to San Antonio. His pricing was very fair and he was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him. Very dependable.

He came in the pour rain to check my car out and he stayed till he figured it out. Every step of the way he explain what he he was doing and why! The best mechanic Ive even had work on my car.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! When I reached out to him, he said he was busy and said reach out to (Randy). When I met Randy he said that their company wasnt able to take credit cards at this time and asked for cash ($150 for an inspection). I thought that was shady as hell and asked for a receipt. When Randy stopped answering my messages, I reached back out to this company ONLY TO FIND OUT RANDY DOESNT EVEN WORK FOR HIM!!!! He gave me this mechanics number without letting me know it wasnt someone he actually worked with. Totally and completely unprofessional. If this is how you run your business, please let people know you are using reference and not actual people that work for this company.

Mobile Mechanic is AWESOME! I simply texted the make/model of my car and that I needed a battery replaced, and they promptly texted back the price and time they could come.When they arrived, they were very nice and helpful. The whole process took about 15 minutes and was $50+ cheaper than going to Jiffy Lube or Midas. Give these guys a try : )

I called to get my car fixed around noon. The guy said he could be here in a couple hours three hours later with no word at all i text the guy and ask whats up. He says sry randy should have called and gave me his number. I call the number and no one picks up. Idk if they know how to fix cars but they damn sure dont know how to make appointments. So much wasted time.

Had lots of knowledge on the issues that arose with my VW Jetta he followed a checklist protocol that way he wouldnt bypass anything important or he wouldnt misdiagnose what was wrong with the vehicle. Once he figured out the problem he had my vehicle back up an running within an hour an a half. Best part was he probably saved me $500 I would have dropped at dealership. Would highly recommend him an his services to anyone in need. I will be using him in the future for sure.

Newly purchased 2007 BMW 328i. Went to start it last night and it wouldnt. My heart sank. Of course it was also a Sunday. Called around a couple of mobile mechanics, but noone was able to make it that night. Called Ken and he pretty much diagnosed it over the phone but it was too late to get the part. It was the starter motor. However he was good enough to come over that night, anyway, just to make sure it wasnt the battery or something else. Hed nailed it as the starter and said hed be round first thing in the am to fix it.He showed up at 8.15 am and was finished by 11. Car started first time! It turns out his speciality is BMWs and European cars. In fact his wife stopped by and she was driving a BMW, which apparently had been brought back from the grave by Ken.Lucky for me!Id recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable mechanic.Thanks Ken. DO NOT USE THEM!!! Unless youre desperate. I called today, and while it didnt take him long to get to me, I asked him over the phone how much it would cost for him to just show up and tell me whats wrong with my car. He told me that they wouldnt charge me until they knew what was wrong with my car. For one, this guy looked very sketchy, and I felt uncomfortable around him. He came and talked on the phone half the time and fooled around with some tools and said I needed a new radiator. He was literally was with me for 20 minutes even though it only took him 1 second to see the hole in my radiator. Then he went on to tell me that it was going to cost me $100 just for him to show up and look at the car. This immediately alarmed me because I already asked him if it would cost for him to come out and see me because I was downtown and he was literally around the corner when I called. I had no problem paying $20-$50 because I knew he needed gas, etc, but $100?! Im sure he was trying to take advantage of me because I am a woman. Luckily, I work for lawyers and they came out and talked to him and paid him $35 dollars to get off the property before he would be towed. Total scam artist. Beware.

For a job that a mechanic shop asked me to send towing truck and fix it for $250, he asked $400... These people....

Just moved from Colorado and didnt know any local mechanics so when my 2006 yukon denali didnt start one day omw out to lunch from work I paniced. I just knew Id have to get a tow and then have a mechanic look at it from there but ken saved the day. He was able to get to my job within the hour and pretty much knew exactly what was wrong before even looking but to ensure he looked removed the part went to pick up a new one and had it fixed in no time.... he was great charged a decent price and was super friendly Ill definitely be using him in the future...

He is the worst mechanic ever. car broke down - he came out and said it was no problem and a cheap fix. he left without starting it or even checking to see if its running right. He said it would be 600.00 and now im in the same position I was in - except I have a douchebag mechanic who wants payment for a car that he did not get running.

I called Ken the night my car broke down and told him that the alternator was bad and he said hell be there by 10:30am, he didnt show up until 12:30pm and checked the problem and confirm me that it was the alternator so when I asked him how long was going to take, he said that he had 2 customers ahead of me that he would be back in 3 or 4 hours so that was very dissapointing but I decided to wait, by 6:30pm I called him and asked him if he still was going to fix my car and he said yes but it will take him 1 more hour to get to my car and that it wasnt going to be $150 anymore, he was going to charge me $250!!!!! After he wasted my whole day????? Ken you are out of your mind and I will never call you again. You are BAD business!!!!!
