I really appreciated how honest and fair Armando is. I came to him after experiencing an engine issue and having my check engine light came on. He took a look at my car, cleaned some sensors and valves and even did some research on the issue to try to figure out what was going on. He made some suggestions, but told me he didn’t want to tell me I needed any replacements that he couldn’t guarantee would actually solve the issue until he knew more about what was going on. I appreciated that he took the time to explain what he thought was happening, and yet still didn’t try to “sell” me on replacement parts that I may not need. We need more honest, knowledgeable mechanics like Armando.

Let me start by saying Armando is the only mechanic I’ll ever go to in Austin! He’s extremely professional, affordable, & FAST! He always gets my car finished within a few hours and even gave me a ride home while I waited for him to finish working on my car one time. 10/10 recommend APR Automotive & will definitely be back.

APR gets the job done. I initially thought its kinda pricey, but I never have the same problem twice. This mechanic can fix your stuff or if he cant he will let you know. He recently fixed my brakes, bled them, and replaced wavy rotors. My wheels look so fresh and clean. Plus the brakes work great. This place will have my future business.

We brought in our Buick to diagnose and fix a coolant leak that was causing the car to overheat. I called on a Friday afternoon thinking I would be out of a car for the whole weekend, but Armando told me to bring it in right then. He quickly found the leak and quoted a very reasonable price - less than I expected. He immediately went and bought the replacement parts and installed them that afternoon, and I had my car back by 6pm the same day! He pointed out some other issues with the engine that need to be fixed in the future, but didn’t pressure me at all to have them done immediately because I was on a budget. I will definitely be using his services again. Nice guy, easy to talk to and seems very honest and straightforward. Walking distance from the Windsor Park neighborhood, very close to Mueller as well. So happy to have a neighborhood mechanic!

By far one of the most honest, fastest, knowledgeable, and straight forward mechanic/technician I’ve ever come across. I’ve been around auto mechanics my entire life and I myself was a diesel tech in the military. I don’t usually take my cars to get worked on unless it’s something major or I don’t have the proper tools/equipment.I had clutch problems and I needed my car back within a few days. Called around, all the shops wanted a day to diagnose my vehicle, which it was pretty straight forward what was wrong, there wasn’t need for a day to find the problem. Most said it won’t be ready till Wednesday or Thursday. Called Armando and told me he had time that afternoon. He diagnosed it within minutes (clutch) and he got to work immediately. Gave me a honest breakdown of the amount, no funny games. Called me again to show me a problem he had found instead of just saying what he found over the phone or after the job was done. He had my vehicle done next day. By the way, the transmission needed to be dropped and separated. In other words, TAKE YOUR VEHICLE to Armando, don’t think twice about it.

The service I received in the few days my Honda Accord was in the shop was great. Communication with Armando was thorough and he reviewed what needed to be done with the engine to me while explaining in ways I could understand. My Honda has over 200,000 miles so Im glad I found good auto care with APR and believe my car has a longer life thanks to the great engine repairs.

If you look around google, you know how rare it is for a mechanic to be over 4.5 stars. 5 perfect rating is unheard of. Theres a good reason for it here. Armando is the real deal. He has the old school auto knowledge that saves you money compared to the throw money at the problem new school mentality, he is honest and genuinely cares about every customer and every job, and he will explain to you all your options in plain english. Prices, by the way are very, very good. You feel like you are family at this shop. Its very rare to find someone like this.

Not writing a novel here. Honest, hardworking and integrity are the traits you find in Armando Perez work. Not much to look at as far as a shop, but Armando is second generation mechanic and knows his stuff. He will get the job done at a decent price, delivery and followup if you have any issues.

Armando is the man! I came to him with car trouble during a road trip on a day that was pretty busy for him, but he made time for me, and it saved our whole road trip. All of the repairs werent worth the potential resale value of the car. He was very honest with me about that, didnt try to upsell me anything, and did only the very minimum repairs necessary to finish the trip, which was exactly what I wanted. Plus, when I was just shy of being able to cover the payment with the cash I had on me, he accepted what I had and saved me a trip to the ATM!

The problem that I had been trying to find for the past two months and $1200 later in unnecessary repairs was found in a day by this place (Armando). Super honest to the point of them losing out on money when they couldve just done what I had asked for, instead of searching for the actual problem, which is now helping me out so very much and saving me from any more headaches. Our van started smoking and we were stranded in an unfamiliar neighborhood. We went to the nearest mechanic and were told we needed a new radiator and it was going to be $850! We panicked and didn’t know what to do, and luckily another shop in the area referred us to Armando instead. Turns out, all we needed was a new connector part, and not a whole new radiator at all. He was able to fix the problem, and quickly, for less than $100! We were so happy with his work, and he gave us another awesome quote for a problem we were aware of, and we are happy to have him fixing that for us next week. Armando is our new favorite mechanic and we can’t recommend him enough.

Great service by APR Engines and Automotive. Mr. Armando Perez was fast and efficient. Mr. Perez was thorough in explaining the issues with my 1999 Chevy Silverado, he made repair recommendations and suggested, which parts to buy so that the quality of parts going on my truck would be the best parts to last a long time. He replaced the upper control arms, wheel bearings and added two 3 inch spacers to my Chevy. He provided the kind of attention and service you will not get at most auto service shops and definitely not from a dealership service department. Not to mention, you will be paying significantly less than what the dealership charges with10 times, better customer service and attention. I will certainly be recommending this shop to all my friends and co-workers. Thank you!!!
