I got stranded in Austin with what looked like an engine problem. At least that’s what Firestone told me, and quoted around $6000 for the repair. Thankfully, their engine technician was out for a week and I decided to tow my truck to South Austin auto repair. I found them to be extremely professional and prompt with their communication. Moreover, they saved me $4500 because there was nothing wrong with the engine. I was lucky to find these guys and I’d definitely take my vehicle back there again, if I ever have to.

Just moving to Austin and had no idea where to go when my car broke down. These guys did more than take care of me in the most professional way. Got my car serviced more than a month ago; replaced my radiator hoses, water pump and thermostat. Have had no problems so far :) Very happy with the service and staff. Mike is awesome! The dreaded engine lights were on and after a brief phone call I brought the truck in. The place is immaculate and employees friendly and knowledgeable. I was thrilled to find out I had accidentally pushed a button and created a problem. Two hours later I was done. I am a women with limited knowledge of cars and am pleased to find a garage I can trust. You can too.

I do all the mechanical repairs and maintenance to my car and I find it hard to trust anyone working on my car. However I needed the refrigerant recovered (and recharged) so I brought it in. Im happy with the experience. They were willing to consult the manufacturer specifications I provided. The car was parked outside of the garage and I was able to stand near it while the work was being done and the technician explained how the machine works. This is where Ill go if I ever need anything else done. The website appointment system was useless though.

All I can say is that these guys have never ripped me off. And frankly thats saying a lot today. You know the feeling of walking into a new automotive shop thinking Im gonna get taken. But Ive had them work on my vehicle several times now and never felt that way. I think for the most part their honest. And that means a lot to me.

Great experience with South Austin Auto Repair !! I own a 2007 Lexus LS460. I was having suspension issues (noise) up front as well as an oil leak. They found the problems with my suspension and made the necessary repairs. They made recommendations to replace some things and wait for a few others to keep cost down and that weren’t safety related. They also found several leaks around the engine and replaced the gaskets. They also washed my car which was very dirty. Nice touch with the paper mat when they delivered my vehicle. I also appreciated their concern for keeping my costs down. It drives so much better now... almost like a brand New car !! I’m going to South Austin Auto Repair for all my car needs !!

Called in about an issue I was concerned with and didnt try to start to convince me my car was an immediate life hazard for an emissions leak. These guys are honest. Would recommend every time.

Wow, just got my car back from the shop, and Im blown away by how good it feels. They replaced the front axles and wheel bearings, rotated the tires, and had it aligned for a very competitive price, IN TWO DAYS! Drives like new. This is my second time here, and I can now say “I have a shop” for both our cars. Shout out to Bryan Matteo and Jose Santos for smooth running shop.

They are very kind and welcoming and they took their time to figure out a solution according to my needs and solve it all. I have taken my car to them 4 times already from basic maintenance like oil change to parts and labor services, such as breaks and more. Having car trouble is unstoppable and a car doctor to fix the issue was hard to find until now. Any car I get will be coming to this car shop for maintenance and repair. Best service I’ve ever received, I was facing a week of bad weather and all the other stores were closing but the south Austin auto repair made time for me just as they were closing to tell me if my car was safe to drive and inspect, for a very small fee, and I do most of my work myself so that’s saying something

He told me that towing my car to the shop would be pointless bc he would just call his locksmith out to come look at it (Every other place was trying to charge $125 just to tow it to their shop).He instead gave me his locksmiths number and now my problem is 100% fixed.** I have never taken my car to this shop before or even met Bobby**This to me was the pure definition of helping someone out and providing the greatest customer service experience.Thank you, Bobby.That was really cool.

The personnel in charge called Bobby, was rude and with an exalted voice when an error occurred in my question, I am a client of this business but I do not return, the man looks like a taxi driver asked me to leave. this is sad and disappointing. the front staff should be friendly and answer any questions the customer has.

I brought in my range rover for what I thought was an electrical issue but after speaking with the manager jose who right away i could tell knew way more about range rovers than any other mechanic i have talked to before..it was just the battery and how to reset it after the replacement ...they saved me alot of money I believe most shops would have found something to try and charge me more money but these guys are very honest and knowledgeable..if you need a vehicle fixed and need a place to trust then go see see Jose and bobby at south austin auto repair

Extended warranty covered a new engine and Bobby reassured multiple times they would cover me right for the replacement and they did and helped me with a payment plan when i didnt have all the money
