I had the best experience at Kia of South Austin. I am in Houston and was not having a good experience with our local dealer. I found that Kia South Austin had an online purchase program for the Kia Niro plug in Hybrid I was looking for. I was connected with Shayna and she was absolutely amazing. Working with me to purchase the car and also trade in and got my the best deal on my trade in Possible. I drove there today to pickup the car and it was ready to go for me and I just had to sign the paperwork and turn in my car and that was it! Also Eric in finance was so informative and amazing as well. I wish every car buying experience could be like this. Shayna I would recommend to anyone, she was so knowledgeable and kind.

Heres one way to present a car: pull it up, open all the doors, put some gas in it.... be prepared to present your customer with answers about the car.Another way: have no idea what youre talking about, dont call in advance and see what your customer wants, have your customer show up with no car to present..Kia of South Austin was more than prepared for me, even though i drove from San Antonio with less than a days notice. This was all thanks to Esteban the sales manager and his associate in sales Anthony. In difficult times they made this an overall smooth transaction and i would recommend this dealer 10/10.

My daughter had an appointment at 10am. At 2pm they hadn’t even looked at her car. 4 hours and no one even bothered to tell her anything. I made several calls and no one could be bothered to even pick up the phone. I understand they are busy but to leave a customer sitting there for four hours without even offering to reschedule is no way to treat people.**Update** We were eventually told that they did not have the correct part. So 4 hours and no one bothered to tell her that they didnt have the correct part. She went back today because they said the part was in. It has been another 4 hours with no update from the service department. I called and was told it was not complete and they couldnt reach the service manager for a status update. Thank goodness she had a friend pick her up this time so she isnt having to wait in their lobby.Is it so hard to communicate with your customers!!!

KIA- BAD SERVICE. My technician Anthony Sahdov at Kia of South Austin said I needed a full tune up that would cost me $500. I mentioned to him I just had this done 11 months ago. He replied I do not see it in your records. I searched and found my receipt and MAGICALLY he found it in their system. The next day I called to get a status and was told the technician was off that day. I called again in the afternoon and he was the one that answered the phone, ODD (avoiding me?) He said my spark plugs needed to be replaced and were under warranty so I just had to pay the $150 diagnostic fee. I asked why a diagnostic fee if it was the spark plugs that had just been replaced months ago to which he responded you automatically agree to pay that fee when you leave your car to be looked at. Oddly enough my receipt said NO CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL OPERATION. I asked if he could run a compression test since it had burned all the oil. He said thats not necessary since the car is starting. Doesnt make sense to me since the test would be for the engine/cylinders and not the starter. I also asked for the diagnostic report when I picked it up. It was 3 sentences. the receipt said multi point inspection - so where is the report for this inspection/diagnostic test? why LIE to me? Also my console had been rummaged through. Going through my personal items is not part of an engine diagnosis. He never told me why my spark plugs wore out so soon, what was causing this?

Came in for an oil change, which was very reasonably priced compared to other Kia dealerships, and was in and out in less than an hour. Waiting area is very comfortable with amenities like coffee and sparkling water dispenser for free. Vending machines are close by as are the restrooms. Definitely coming back again.

5 Stars is not enough to rate my recent experienceat Kia south Austin.More specifically I want to give my salesman Rito Rubalcado the praise he is due for his exceptional professionalism and more importantly how extremely genuine he was throughout the process of the purchase of my vehicle. Rito’s relaxing approach kept me at ease and I felt no pressure from him at all. He displayed both patience and knowledge when bombarded with my many questions due to my lack of knowledge. Rito showed exemplary care and concern when it came to getting me into the vehicle I wanted at a price I was comfortable paying. Purchasing a new car does not come without a few challenges or bumps in the road. When faced with any challenge, Rito couldn’t have handled it better.Rito negotiated on my behalf to get me into a higher quality vehicle at the same price.In addition to that, Rito not only assured me he would have me in my new vehicle by Monday, he backed it up and took action by driving 75+ miles round trip to pick me up from my job and back to the dealership. Took my car for an oil change and inspection and mainly dealt with Anthony/Antonio. Everyone there though was fast, friendly, and my car was ready in less than an hour. Asked Anthony for more details in regards to the recommendations and the multi-point inspection for my car and was advised thoroughly and provided detail in paper. I got a small car accessory ordered, parts guy was very nice too! I was escorted to my vehicle after and my front seats and floor had also been vacuumed. One of my better visits yet! Thanks guys!

It’s a 9 hour round trip from Dallas to Austin, and my co-signer doesn’t have the same day off. Such a lousy dealership. Never heard of not being able to mail paperwork on a relative who cosigned(no red flags).

Please be careful when purchasing a used car from Kia of South Austin. They may claim to have done a thorough safety inspection on the car but dont take their word for it.I bought a used Mercedes C300 here and during the test drive, I noticed the brakes were vibrating pretty significantly. I mentioned it to the salesman and he didnt really acknowledge it too much. The car however appeared to be in pristine condition and only had 12,000 miles on it.I wish I had taken the car out for a second test drive before completing the deal when I returned two days later as when I was driving home the car vibrated a lot at every stop. I took the car to Lambs auto repair that day and it cost me $1,200 for new front brakes. We also discovered that someone had replaced the tire pressure sensing valve stems with generic valve stems. Getting that fixed cost another $400. These are things that any competent inspection wouldve discovered.Also, I was not made aware that the car would only be coming with one key at the time I said I would buy the car. Mercedes keys are expensive to replace.Lastly, the salesman said my car was going to be cleaned before I took possession. It was still coated in pollen and in need of a wash when it was presented to me.Now... you may be wondering why I originally rated my experience as 5 Stars? Well, my sales guy encouraged me to give them a great review while I was still sitting there waiting to get the deal done. I wish I had waited.I know all of the above is a buyer beware situation and I shouldve turned right around as soon as I left the dealership. I should have insisted on a second test drive. I shouldve insisted on a second key or a discount to account for it being missing. I shouldve asked about the tire pressure sensor light.But, I had an important work meeting to get to and had made that clear to my sales guy before I came in that morning.

I wouldn’t recommend this dealership to my ex girlfriend. It took NINE HOURS (you read that right) to change my oil. After attempting to call for information on when my car would be ready I was placed on hold for 40 minutes. I hung up and called again and immediately got put on hold with the front desk unknowingly leaving her line on, so I over heard her conversation. Something along the lines of “not liking the tile and vibes of the place.”I get it. You gotta take it easy once and a while but maybe not when you have a customer waiting.They also tried to bill me (I have the full service coverage package) and didn’t clean my car as they were supposed to. I pay decent money for this service and they don’t even make an attempt to try. This is my first and last time I will go to this dealership. But that should be easy cause the parking lot is LITTERED with cars. It’s a zoo. Stay far away man.

If I could give ZERO Stars I would! I got my car towed to this Kia in South Austin when my car broke down on me while I was out of town. It has now been almost TWO WEEKS!! Today I took my daughter to purchase her first car and Anthony Hill at Kia of South Austin made it an stress free and easy experience. My Kia started burning oil. No leaks on the driveway. My local mechanic said I need a new engine. I was concerned as I’m faithful on oil changes.I checked for recalls and found 2. One involved the catalytic converter, which if damaged, could cause particles to enter the engine, piston breakage, and possible engine fire.I contacted Kia South Austin and they replaced my catalytic converter. So it was damaged. They said my engine was fine. There was no engine failure (obviously, I drove it there), and according to their Kia Certified mechanics, the engine was functioning normally.They also told me any “substrate particles” mentioned in the recall, and caused by the damaged catalytic converter, were now removed as they had given me a new catalytic converter. This is contrary to the exact wording in the Kia recall which states:If the catalytic converter is damaged, substrate particles can enter the engine combustion chamber and cause abnormal engine combustion. Continuous abnormal engine combustion can result in damage to one or more of the engine’s pistons which can cause piston connecting rod breakage, potentially puncturing the engine block allowing engine oil to escape and potentially contact a hot surface.”I was concerned about the oil consumption and they recommended an “oil consumption test” where they change the oil, seal it up, and have me drive 1000 miles. I return to Kia after 1000 miles, and they check it. If my engine burns up during the 1000 mile test, they have no responsibility at all. What??So they gave me a new catalytic converter (cheaper than an engine) and sent me down the road. A win for Kia and I have a Kia Soul with a damaged engine. It knocks and that also was mentioned in the recall :“If this condition occurs, owners may hear knocking noise from the engine and/or the Malfunction Indicator Light may illuminate.”Kia South Austin sent me down the road in this car.

Was originally going to Kia North but Kia South spanked Kia North in appointment availability, by like 5 days. I brought my 2012 Kia Optima in for recalls and an A/C repair. Chris was my service advisor, super attentive, kept me informed every step of the way. Dropped my car off on Thursday, was told it wouldnt be till Monday before they could get around to performing diagnostics. Needless to say they were backed up. Got a call on Friday before noon, my car way ready. Excellent service, Excellent experience!

I almost never review anything online, but I wanted to give a shout-out to the crew working in the service department this past Sunday. I had to bring in my sportage for a recall and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best experience hands down at a dealership I’ve ever had. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. And major props to the young lady working the front desk. She was extremely professional and kind. Wish I got her name, but whoever it was, she deserves a raise.

My wife and I learned late on a Friday that the cost to repair our car was going to be more than it was worth. We are a one family household so going without a vehicle is not an option. A friend of ours just bought a Kia and loves it so we took an Uber to the dealership expecting to probably Uber home. We were shocked!! The salesman was super patient and listened to what we needed. We took a couple test drives and picked a car out that works for our family. We then talked to a finance guy and he gave us a couple payment options that includes a warranty so we arent stuck again. In and out in just a couple of hours on a Saturday morning no less!! Go Kia!

Worst service I have ever received….but they get a second chance!Took 9 days to fix warranty item…airbag light.When I went to pick up the car….it was ~$300 more than expected. That took getting the service manager involved. Next they could not find my car …that took 20 minutes. Next, the car would not start…somebody left a light on and ran down the battery. That took another 30 minutes.While I was waiting I went to the General manager…he got involved and things changed for the better. I know these things happen….and the General manager assured me things were changing and thanked me for getting him involved. I believe he was sincere and asked for a chance to restore belief in the dealershipI was just going to walk away and take my biz somewhere else….but the discussion with the General manager changed my mind…I am inclined to give them a second chanceBut they deserve the one star I gave them here

To preface: this is my first poor review for any business EVER.My brother and I bought a car back in 2012 and I have used Kia of South Austin ever since. Initially, it was great (thanks to a guy that worked there- Jim Rainey). My brother and I advertised Kia to our friends and family because we thought so highly of it. However, after Jim switched jobs, Kia seemed to go downhill pretty fast from there and it caused my brother to switch dealerships shortly after. During the switch, he transitioned the car to me as the sole owner of the Kia about 5 years ago.So, 5 years have passed, and Ive updated their office upon EVERY SINGLE visit that my brother no longer owns the vehicle and I would like to have MY information as the sole person for Kia to contact.But, because the car was initially purchased under my brothers name by the dealership in 2012, he has always been the one they contact for everything (even though I own the car now). My brother has called on multiple occasions as well to have his contact information removed from their lists completely and has provided them with my information stating that he doesnt want the miscellaneous messages sent to him while hes at work.However, TO THIS DAY, I get ZERO correspondence from Kia and everything continues to get messaged to him. This might not sound like that big of a deal but there have been instances when I waited 3 hours in a waiting room AFTER my car was already finished because they texted my brother (who had his phone off at work) and they didnt think to let me know even though I specifically told them my contact information upon arrival and NOT to use my brothers information still in their system and that I would be waiting in the waiting room. Its quite pathetic customer service.Now, the tipping point came last Friday when my annual car inspection was due. The state inspector told me my fluids were bone dry and that engine damage is likely to happen if these arent replaced. Heres the kicker... I took my car to Kia of South Austin about a week PRIOR for a dying battery and a maintenance inspection (to make sure nothing else was dying) and they somehow forgot to do the maintenance inspection.I was baffled and drove from the inspection site to Kia to get my car inspected, they apologized and realized they forgot to perform the inspection.They offered to perform a complimentary inspection (my understanding was that those were already free but I could be wrong) and that they could have me in and out in 20 minutes.I should have known better since NO visit in the past 5 years has taken less than 2 hours.As usual, I left 2 hours later super late for work and with only a replaced cabin air filter (which I did NOT request yet still ended up paying for so that I could finally get to work). But, when I got in my car, there were stains throughout the interior (as there usual are after Kia performs interior work). I decided to take photos this time since I was annoyed with their lack of professionalism again (see below for photos). The stains are STILL there 7 days later. I was able to remove stains on the driver side door handle and blinker light handle but for some reason, I couldnt get the rest (all photos taken before I left the dealership with exception of Day 7 Steering Wheel).As frustrated as I was, I was STILL willing to return so they could replace my car fluids for $800 (including tax) the following week when I could take a half-day off work to visit. Before getting into my car to leave, I updated them again with my contact info to call me to schedule Monday which the lady wrote down on a napkin and said she would update their system with my information. Monday rolls around and my brother receives the call- not me.I should have followed my brother 5 years ago switching dealerships but felt an obligation to stay given the once great service Jim Rainey provided.Kia of South Austin is nowhere near the caliber it once was and I would strong recommend against starting business with them until they can improve their business practices.

New Struts and Tires on my Kia and they cannot even offer a tire alignment or even recommend it. Nothing like taking advantage of the customers so they are forced to return. 0 stars if I could because I declined to work with them.Be weary of this place when you find “online deals”They are very big on bait and switch. If we hadn’t read the reviews and asked the right questions, I think they would not have corrected us in person on pricing.My boyfriend and I wanted to take a look at a used vehicle they had posted on Car Gurus. Despite the poor reviews they have on there, we decided to give Kia a call and ask about the car we wanted. After asking for more info, the sales rep. had confirmed the price listed on Car Gurus was roughly 3K under the amount it is actually listed for and that they have been “getting around ” to changing the ad online.At this point we brought up the reviews and wanted to know what the total would be if the price is wrong and it was up to an extra 5k in fees, trackers, the price to remove the tracker, other misc. things, etc.Essentially way more than what was listed online.Time passed and I had a friend of mine call about another vehicle they had posted and again it was listed under the wrong price and they had the same response. The excuse of “Getting around” to changing the price of the ad online doesn’t excuse the fact that it’s misleading.Do better Kia.

Just started using their appointment system and it seems to work. I went online at 7am, scheduled an oil change for 1015am, same day and was out the door by 1145am. It wasnt too bad waiting. They offer coffee and tea in waiting area. Anthony is always friendly and personable. Oil and filter change was less than $30, Jiffy Lube tried charging me $80 last time I stopped in.Went back 8/20/21. Tech was very nice, but what is the point of using a schedule for appointment if you are going to get overwhelmed anyway? I sat there from 9am until almost 1pm for an oil change. I did everything right, I got up and scheduled the oil change, like a good boy. Dont let others cut in line or admit you are shorthanded. Too long for an oil change.

I went in for an oil change and some regular maintenance on my Kia. Oscar serviced my vehicle and my Advisor and was remarkably helpful and friendly! He was very communicative every step of the way. He was very easy to talk to and ask questions of. I plan on requesting him every time I come in for maintenance!
