I had a repair to my Jeep Grand Cherokee last week with Jeep Masters. It was my first time using them and I was happy with my experience. Jeep Masters did exactly what I needed them to do and charged exactly what they quoted. These guys are the real deal! I have owned four jeeps ranging from an old 87 Wrangler to a new off the lot Wrangler and would be confident these guys could repair all of them. They are pretty busy, so allow the time needed for your repair. THANK YOU JEEP MASTERS! I WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK FOR ANY FUTURE REPAIRS! ππ
Mechanically Savvy, communicative in a way that I can make sense of - kept it simple, first handedly observed his commitment to his customer by servicing my vehicle beyond regular business hours especially when I had a flat, dead battery or mechanical issue...WoW! The mechanic is Doug Moon.
Took my Jeep in for diagnosis. The team tried everything they could to figure it out for a week. Finally, when they couldnt figure it out they were honest (its not an easy or clear problem) and didnt charge us for diagnosis. When i do figure out this issue they will be the ones Ill trust to fix it.
I have taken several of my vehicles to Jeep Masters to get worked on. They are not the cheapest in town or the most expensive knowledgeable friendly and they get the job done.
Ray was so helpful and answered every question I had. I paid a pretty penny but now all of my sensors are up to date! I will come back for any more work!
Called them twice was told I would hear back for a simple quote never did. Not run very well
Great guys, great work
Iβm astonished my the phone adequate of Mr.Ray. It cringed me on how he communicated over the phone as I waited for my vehicle to be pulled out. I would never come back to this place ever again. They delayed on car because they were unorganized and lost my paper work. If your looking at this, trust me, take your car somewhere else. As an Austinite I would not recommend this place at all.
Jeep masters are the best! Great staff that is willing to help and you just know you are in good hands. They go out of their way to make sure you get the quality work in the time that they promised. Thanks for being sincere jeep experts who car about jeep owners.
Very disappointed with Jeep Masters. I was needing an alignment on my lifted Silverado and called ahead to see if they were able to align the truck, service advisor confirmed that yes they could align it. I set an appointment and dropped off my truck with the expectation the truck would be done in a few hours. I hadnβt heard anything from the service advisor so decided to just go back and hang out in the lobby until it was done. I noticed my truck being pulled out of the service bay and driven a few times. The technician was having difficulties aligning the truck. After a couple more hours the technician completed the work and I was good to go. When I was leaving I heard a pop in the front end but didnβt think anything about it. Fast forward to today, 5 months later, and both of my tires on the front of the truck are severely worn on the inside tread versus the outside being in great shape. I look and it Spears that my driver side control arm is completely adjust out, Iβm guessing this was the pop. $700 for new tires in the front end and another $150 to have an alignment done at a different shop and we are back to where I should of been before Jeep Masters. The shop has lost my trust with the first and only repair I have ever had with them. Disappointed.
If you dont have a jeep that requires jeep bolt on parts dont waste your time or money with these guys. If you do, buy a wrench and DIY, and seriously save some $$.
Details on Yelp. Have since uncover more issues they claimed to fix that were straight up ignored and charged me for. I donβt know how these guys are in business.
Quick and cheap. I got a trailer hitch and wiring harness installed. They had a used hitch and I was good with it! Saved some money.
Bo was honest and communicated well. Even offered his truck to help with my move. I will return. (not 5 stars because $$$)
Good experience with the Jeep Masters team. I would highly recommend them. Rey has been great to work with.
Jeep Masters did a good job installing the lift on my 2016 JK. The price was reasonable but it took them longer than I had hoped to finish the lift. It would have been nice if Jeep Masters had a method for keeping the customers up to date over having to call and check.
I HIGHLY recommend these guys. They are extremely talented and knowledgable about all things Jeep and other 4X4 projects. They fixed my Jeep and saved it from the grave! Well priced, quality service, excellent communication, speedy repairs - I cant ask for more! Thanks to Donny, Bo, Ray and all the other guys there for always taking care of me.
Donnie, Beau and Ray! Thank you for being HONEST! In the mechanic industry, those of us who are clueless with repairs, trust when we bring our vehicle in that we are in good hands. Here you are!! Thank you again for just doing the repairs needed and advising me of future.
My jeep is a not a daily driven vehicle and sits quite a bit. I was coming on inspection/registration and discovered I didnt pass inspection due to the O2 sensors and Catalytic converters not setting a ready signal to the ECM. I arranged to drop it off at Jeep Masters making it clear for the first time via phone what I needed done; priority one was get it inspection ready and priority two front end work.I take the vehicle in on a Tuesday and explain to Ray that first and foremost the Jeep needed to have all needed items to pass inspection done before any other work was done in order to ensure my wallet was OK and to be able to drive legally. I told Ray there were no codes and that the inspection station told me its was as simple as getting the system to set ready to the ECM then discover if anything was wrong.I speak to Ray throughout the week and am told everything is good and he will have no problem getting it inspected and at one point even told me he was sending his tech to get it taken care of soon so I was elated and led to believe all was taken care of and what was needed to address the other issues as i had originally requested. Let me also add it took four days to get any type of estimate from these people and I had to actually drive up there after work in order to get them to get on the ball. The day I drove up and questioned the time frame for a quote on the priority two issues (see above) I got a call back for the work to be done front end suspension and a water pump, water pump was a surprise but sure just in case it was an issue lets do that. all told this was about $2700 and I was OK with this as I had budgeted that to get the inspection issues taken care of and since Ray was so confident on multiple calls mind you that all would be taken care of I agreed to the work for the non critical items.Naturally no calls or update during the process so I am calling to discover what the status was and of course there is a problem! Ray proceeds to tell me the catalytic converters need to be replaced in order to pass inspection and another $1400 is needed. I was livid at this point. This man and this business had basically swindled me as they led me to believe all was taken care of on the items i asked for which was the inspection and this is why i allowed the other work to be done. Ray begins to somehow forget how to be a service writer and says that it was critical that I told his shop what the codes were in order for them to do their job properly. OK, thats odd, why do I need to provide codes? I dont have the equipment for that, this is why I take it to you! He kept telling me I erased codes and I kept telling him I didnt erase anything because as originally stated the Jeep had no codes it was just not in a not ready state. Ray did not pay attention (as per previous talks) and again said there were no codes and his tech even stated there was none. I told Ray that its like going to a doctor with a sickness and the doctor asking me what to prescribe! He of course in his usual robotic tone didnt fathom our discussion. Thanks Ray, what a profound observation!I didnt budget for another $1400 for this and of course they had me over a barrel and it sure felt like I literally was! Jeep Masters knew what they were doing here and that was take advantage of me and be unethical and honestly it sure appears to be almost an illegal move based on the discussions and my needs and how they presented themselves throughout the whole process. Ray begin to back track and say that he could work with me after i threatened legal action of course and that he could get the cost down to about $600 which just means non OEM parts and less labor, I get it. At this point I agreed because I had no choice.
Brought it there for warranty work. While I was on a trip Ray worked with my wife and recommended the spark plugs get installed since they were already going to be in there for the warranty work. My wife was told it would be $250. We were met with a $600 plus bill. Ray insisted that he was right. Iβm annoyed because I know they double dipped on the labor and charged $180 for installing the plugs. The point of doing that was they were already in there and would save us labor. The engine was already torn down and if we did it later it would cost an additional $100.Itβs ruined my trust. They fixed my main issue but lost my trust on communication and the extra labor charges. Very disappointed. I drove 45 min out of my way to another shop that I have a relationship and trust for additional work. Jeep Masters is 1 mile from me. Disappointed.
They know Jeeps like the back of their hands.Best place to take your Jeep.
Poor operations! Extremely lacking customer service, only a qualified team of managers capable of discussing your vehicles repairs are out to lunch 11am-2pm, rendering the shop useless for the 2-3 hours in the middle of the day, and overall unimpressive professional establishment.
Jeep Masters is what you expect from a great Jeep shop. Down to earth guys who know how to work on Jeeps.I purchased my 2.5 lift online and they never had any hesitation agreeing to the install. They scheduled an appointment for just two days later. At the same time, I was looking for 35 inch tires and new wheels and was hooked up with a great deal. The install took only one day, and they provided updates as needed. After the install, the JKU runs better than I ever could have hoped. Prices quoted for service were very reasonable and they never tried to nickel and dime me - just dropped of the vehicle, picked it up when they were done and paid exactly what I was told.I would never hesitate to go back!
Took my 95 wrangler in for a check up. tie rod end was shot. repaired it in one day.Great turn around time, and may have saved my life. thank you Ray and crew. I would recommend them over a dealer anyday. Ray is the Jeep guy in Austin PERIOD. THANK YOU!
If youre not speaking with Bo, dont waste your time.
Kudos for saving me a trip, time, and money!I called requesting an appointment for service on my tail lights. The gentleman informed me that service wouldnβt fix anything, then suggested I get a different piece of equipment from a local auto supply store. I did, installed it, and problem fixed! The guys 1) fixed my problem, 2) saved me a trip and time for an appointmen, and 3) saved me money. Kudos my man!
The first time I used Jeep Masters, I was visiting Austin and kept hearing a strange noise under the hood of my 95 Cherokee. They were the third shop I visited that day, the previous two being unable to diagnose the problem. The technician at Jeep Masters immediately noticed that the harmonic balancer was wiggling loose from the crank shaft, and if I had driven back to Dallas that day, its likely I would have totaled my engine. Now that I live in Austin, theyre the only guys I trust to work on my Jeep! They are more thorough than any other shop Ive dealt with, and theyre always honest and upfront about the necessity of various repairs. Sure, other places in town may do cheaper work, but I prefer to put my money where my trust is.
45 days to reseal my transmission. The thing leaks oil after I got it back. It didnt leak oil when I gave it to them. Gonna have to contact these people about fixing what they broke...UPDATE: In the end it took them 4 tries to reseal my transmission. Each try took 6 weeeks. Yes thats right they had my jeep for over 24 weeks -- 6 months. Kept telling me it was resealed, then it leaked.I got a brand new license plate 8 days before leaving the jeep with them. That license plate is now bent and has scratches where someone obviously rammed another car into it.
I dont know if it was because the holidays but this place is completely disorganized. Was told a day turnaround which stretched into 4 days and was told on each day from a staff member that it would be done that day to only have to call them and they say had to move on to the next day due to the tech leaving their shift early. If its not ready just say wait until it is to call the customer instead of guessing making them wait all day and make your techs stay until their shift ends and report back to the main tech their receipts.
These guys know what theyre doing. I described the sound I was hearing from my jeep wrangler and Ray immediately described the progression of sounds I heard leading up to the current sound, without even looking at it! They then fixed her up the same day and got me rumbling back down the road in my favorite ride. Theyve made a customer for life for sure!
Just took my 98 TJ in for an alignment today. It is really nice to have the experience necessary to dial this in on a lifted Jeep with adjustable control arms all the way around. Pinion angle is spot on, no drive line vibrations. Caster adjustment helped a lot with steering and return to center issues. Ive had my jeep in to Jeep Masters a few times over the years and I have always been very pleased with the quality of the work. I do all the main wrenching on the Jeep myself, but things like this that need fine tuning...these guys know what they are doing. Loved the fact that that tech who did the alignment took some time just to chat about what needed adjustment and how he went about it specifically for my jeep. This is really something that should be encouraged (and continued practice) Ive been to a few shops and have never had my input so well received. That is what makes the difference here.
Great these guys really know what theyre doing if you have a Jeep take it to Jeep Masters or better yet let him custom build one for you
Im pretty happy with these folks. They got my parts from the dealership, and installed them for $200 less than my dealership quote. Ive taken my jeep to them twice and havent had any issues.
Jeep Masters are the masters! Was able to find a used transmission for my boyfriends Jeep...and did it so fast and at a great price. Will be returning for all of our Jeep needs.
Beau, Alan, and the rest of the staff are very courteous and provide great service. Ill definitely consider them my go-to guys for service of my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Ive trusted these guys with three Jeeps so far, and theyve been terrific every time.
Took my 02 jeep liberty there for some muffler work about a year ago. Now, my cars failing inspection because of a hole in the exhaust system which every opinion Ive gotten said was probably due to that. Some mastery you have there, guys.
Bo and the technical team is great. My initial experience was five star. Bo was responsive and made sure my Jeep was taken care of. I had $2500 of end to end check out and update to date service work done on a 100k mile vehicle. They failed to do two things and Bo said bring it back by in the next few days. Then I went back two days later, Bo was not there and the other person at the front desk was horrible. He wanted a check out fee, and $150 dollars to do what Bo said Yep we should have done that when your jeep was in for all that work. My rating of my follow up trip was ZERO stars. Lesson & warning - Deal with Bo or take your Jeep some where else.
I absolutely love Jeep Masters and trust them whole heartedly. Honest people for my beloved 4WD. I was quoted $500 initially by the dealership and the repair grew to $2500 by the end of the day. I took the chance with Jeep Masters on a second opinion and end up with a $500 quote and saved $2K.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEEP HERE. Jeep Masters is slow, more expensive than a dealership, and their service is dishonest. The negative reviews of this business are most likely the only legitimate ones. They marked up parts 90%, charged me a $50 diagnostic fee when the problem was obviously one of two things, of which they replaced both, selling me parts I didnt need and giving me a list of other overpriced repairs which they wanted me to sign off on. Know my way around YJs, just never imagined a shop could be this dishonest. Maybe Jeep Masters should focus its energy on honest service instead of damage control⦠Would not entrust my Jeep to them again...
Although the pricing was slightly higher than I hoped for, my overall experience was exceptionally good and turn around time was great. My 2000 XJ had a terrible leak coming from the RMS (rear main seal) and the oil pan gasket. I dropped the Jeep off Monday around noon and picked up by 5pm the following day ready to rock. I have always been very weary about taking any of the 12 cars Iβve owned in my life to a shop for any kind of work because quite frankly I do everything on my own and am very meticulous about my things. Thankfully Jeep Masters did what was asked of them, didnβt beat around the bush with me, and got keys back in my hand in a timely manner. Disregard any bad reviews you see on this shop. Having been in the automotive industry myself for 12yrs now (vinyl wrap/ceramic coating/suspension), thereβs always a few bad eggs that come along with something to say...but thereβs usually 2 sides to every βhorrorβ story you read as well so I always read them with a grain of salt.Iβm hoping to get Jeep Masters to install the 4.10 gears in a few weeks if we can come to a good price agreement!
Best service in town for your cars, specialty lifts and Warranty service has well.
Beaux Miller did an excellent job for me, down home friendly shop, they are truly jeep masters! 2014 jeep wrangler JK, they customized Jeep with AEV bumpers, winch, 2 1/2 lift, flares, hood, hard top, all paint work was flawless, better than expected, show quality! easy going crew doing an honest job for a fair price, and they know JEEPS. Did I say JEEPS loud enough, not a classic car shop, JEEP.
Absolutely Fabulous! I took my Toyota Rav-4 to Jeep Masters for bodywork; it came out looking like a new car! My idea of a car is put the key in it and drive. If it gets you where you are going then, by god, you are good to go. Manny was the coup de grΓ’ce when it came to working with the insurance company! Dropped the car off, was offered a rental car, got a call my car was ready; that was it. I mentioned a small problem and guess what, voila, it was fixed; it was like Christmas morning or a fantastic birthday present! Above and beyond! I went to Jeep masters for my bodywork because they have always treated my son (who owns a Jeep) with fairness and respect. This is such a talented group of people, accomplished professionals!Kudos and thanks!Mimi
When I first got to Jeep Masters the guy at the counter just stared at me instead of asking if I needed help. I had to approach and ask how things would work about getting a quote for a repair. I got a quote for my Jeeps door opening poorly. Was told it needed a new door (which would require painting to match the rest of the Jeep). $1400 quote. Took it to another shop and had it done with parts, labor, and Uber ride to pick it up for $200. (No new door required). And only part was the lower hinge, which was also painting to match the body color even.
This place is a rip off. Overcharged my girlfriend for a repair by $500. The part cost $5 and it pops into place in 30 seconds. I showed her but she just went to this bs place while I was out of town and got screwed.
Good guys! Jeep is running well. Happy Holidays!
I took my 1989 Isuzu Trooper into Jeep Masters a few weeks back for an assessment of the vehicle. I wrote out a fairly long list of things that were wrong with the vehicle and I wanted to ask Jeep Masters expertise on what they thought my vehicle needed as I was planning on taking my Trooper off roading out West in the next month or so. Before I wrote up my list I asked Ray if theyd work on an old Trooper like mine to which he said yes. All good so far. I gave them my list, filled out his shop paper work (which asked for my information), and he told me hed have a price for what the work would cost the next afternoon. After a day passed with no call, I called to see if Ray had a price for me and he told me hed get back to me in the afternoon around 1pm. 1pm came and went and I called again at around 3pm. He said hed get back to me in the evening before the shop closed. They close at 6pm. By 5:55pm I hadnt heard anything, so I called again...no answer. The pinnacle of professionalism, wouldnt you say?I called again the next morning shortly after they opened and Ray told me hed call me back in hour. An hour later, no call. Of course. Now I understand these things take time. I really do. Ive spent over $30,000 on my vehicles since September 2013 getting them repaired, restored and gone through. I get it. It takes time. And you cant rush repairs and quotes. I completely get it. But if you tell somebody youre going to do something, like, say, call them back at a certain time, then do it. And if you dont have the quote together by the time you said youd call back, then call anyways and tell me you got caught up with other work. Just communicate. You have my vehicle, Im entrusting you with it. The least you could do is just say Hey man, sorry, been real busy, had some stuff come up, sorry this is taking longer than expected, give me two days and Ill get it together for you. But no. That isnt what Ray did. Not only did he fail to call me at any point for anything, but when we did speak, he told me he was still waiting on the price for a fuel pump and that he had most everything else quoted out. I let him know not to worry about the fuel pump as I had already sourced one, and I asked him if he wouldnt mind giving me a copy of the list with the quote. Did he give it to me? No, Did he fax/email it to me like he promised when I went to pick up my Trooper? No. Did he ever call me to let me know why he hadnt done as promised? No.So, I went and grabbed my Trooper because I needed it for the weekend (after they had it their possession all week). Ray promised, again and in person, to email or fax me the list in the next few days. I never heard from him. I called two weeks later to see if hed had the quote together yet...just to see if Ray was even slightly a man of his word. Guess what? Not only did he not have the quote together, but the entire list of things I needed done was gone. Ruined apparently by a leak they had in the roof after that crazy rain we had here recently. Did Ray think to call me and let me know what happened? No...again. I assume that he didnt because he probably also didnt put my information in their computer. How. Lovely.Interestingly, Ray might still have that list/quote if hed emailed it to me as promised. But hes either incompetent, unreliable, or just has terrible service skills...or maybe all three. And thats the hard truth of the matter.Thankfully, I discovered all of this before giving these guys a penny. I wish Id had the great experience others on here have said theyd had. Regretfully, though, my experience was the complete opposite.
Took advantage of my inept girlfriend and charged her $500 to make a repair that took less than 5 minutes. Was out of town and she did it while I was gone. Make them show you what theyre charging you for.
They act like theyve got so much business that they dont need your business. Walked in there for some price quotes and the guy behind the counter basically just blew me off.
Good folks smooth operation
Great job, fast service, reliable
Nice jeep guys
