Let me start by saying that I am very happy with Valley View Auto Repair, and I would absolutely take my car there again. There was a mix up with the ignition part they installed in my car. Its a long story and Im not a mechanic so I probably wont get it right if I try to explain all of it. That said, the issue was confusing even for someone who works at a parts store and another friend of mine who is a car hobbyist. A short version is that my car in unusual in being able to have two different types of ignition parts in it that will both work. The part they used was more expensive (but also has more features), but it was going to be more expensive for me to get spare keys. So they accidentally upgraded my car. I was upset about the extra expenses. HOWEVER, I went back and explained the problem.Vince treated me very kindly and respectfully and gave me a refund. He told me that cars dont usually allow for two different parts/systems to work (Im simplifying what he said and I know it was true, because I had already found this out from my friend). I thought he was more than fair in his treatment of the the issue. I would say he was generous.I used to do some repair work (not on cars) and I know that mix-ups happen. Nobodys perfect. What impressed me was that he wanted to make it right, and he did. Since I can trust him to deal with me honestly even after mix ups, Ill keep going there. In fact, Id rather go there than someplace where I dont know how I might be treated if there is a mix-up.Vince is kind, respectful, and has integrity. I can recommend this shop.
Over the past several years, and twice in the past month, I have sought the services of this establishment. During these times, both Adam and Myles have worked on my vehicle. My experience with both of these technicians has been consistently positive. They were straightforward, honest and courteous. They did good work and completed it in a timely manner. Their prices were fair, and if they missed anything, they took care of it without charging me for their labor. I would certainly use them again in the future, and highly recommend them to anyone in need of good, competent auto repair.
Its a helpless feeling when your kid is hundreds of miles away and has car trouble. That being said, I can highly recommend Valley View Auto Repair. They repaired my daughters car quickly and at a very fair price. Even provided shuttle service for her to pick up the car. Had her back on the road the same day. Vince was a pleasure to work with!
I had car trouble while visiting Ashland and am glad I called Valley View Auto. They were able to fit me in the next day and get me back on the road. It was a minor repair and the charges were reasonable. Much appreciated!
Been taking my vehicles to this outfit and their branch Ashland Auto Repair for 25 years. Always available. Always reliable.
My car developed a wobble on a long trip and I stopped here on a Sunday morning, the mechanic at Valley View was able to instantly tell me that my tires needed replacement, and directed me to the only place nearby likely to be open. They even put my spare on for free, super helpful and honest!
We needed an emergent engine diagnostic and they went above and beyond to find and fix the problem quickly so we could get back on track to our long family road trip. We truly appreciate the rapid service. 👍🏻👍🏻
We had such amazing experience here, they were all so sweet and Miles helped us out so much we came in after our RV caught on fire last night and he saw us with a walk in on a Sunday on Father’s Day. He got underneath make sure we were safe and clear to continue our journey north and didn’t charge us a dime, although of course we gave a generous tip and all the thanks. Would highly recommend this place and are so grateful that they put our minds ease and got us in on such late notice.
Great people customer orientated and fairly knowledgeable about the mechanics of day-to-day vehicles. My car broke down I made it to their shop it was the end of the day and the hottest day of the year and they still got me back on the road much gratitude and the very big thank you these are the type of businesses that make America great
Had brought in my truck with these guys right before being dispatched out on a fire. Paid $3,000 for a engine fix. The day I was dispatched to a fire was the same day I got my truck back. Drove from Ashland to Hood River and the truck ended up spinning a rod bearing. Upon asking what happened they said I lost oil pressure and wouldn’t do anything about it. I had to pay over $500 for towing fees and then when they said they wouldn’t do anything about it, even though I had an engine warranty, they were very adamant about me removing my vehicle. I told them they drained me of all my money that I earned from fighting fires and couldn’t do that so they bullied me into selling my truck. DO NOT GO TO THESE GUYS THEY ARE NOT GOOD WHATSOEVER!!!
Everyone is super friendly here, and they are compassionate mechanics as well. They also have a shuttle service. I just left my beloved 2004 Element with them for repair. Whenever I have car trouble I go to Valley View Auto Repair first.
Our RV broke down on the pass. They let us stay in their parking area for the night and got us back on the road by 9 am! Thankful.
I appreciate this place so much! They fixed my truck in a timely manner, price was exactly what they quoted and the work was good! They called me and told me what was going on before they did the work to make sure I was ok with the timing and the price. Which I was! Great work! We have had several of our cars worked on here and we will certainly have any other needed work done here! Thank you Valley view auto!
This is an extremely unprofessional and unethical repair shop !!!We are in Washington state and were helping someone out that had their vehicle broken down in Oregon. We called this shop and spoke with the manager about getting the vehicle diagnostic done. They said they do a free diagnostic on the vehicle then stated what their hourly rate was and said there was no charge whatsoever for the diagnosis of the vehicle. We had the vehicle towed to the shop and called them again when it was dropped of to confirm they would do the diagnostic and nothing else without authorization we left them out cell phone number to call as soon as they knew what was wrong with the vehicle. We then did not hear from the shop for days. The next communication we had from them was a impound notice in the mail with a diagnostic charge and storage fees for hundreds of dollars!!!!After calling the shop numerous times and speaking with at least two managers (who stated they spoke with the owner) in regards to the notice they stated that the charges are now $775 to pick up the vehicle!!!We have numerous conversations on the phone (all our calls are recorded) that they freely admit that they told us the diagnosis was free and there was no charge for the service. Also they admitted that they did not call us as instructed in regards to the diagnostic when it was complete. This appears from our experience to be a predatory auto repair shop that is looking to make money off of unsuspecting customers by charging for services that are advertised and verbally communicated to be free.To be clear I have been in the auto industry for 13 yrs and this is unethical what they are doing. They spent less than an hour on an easy diagnosis and are now requiring $775 to pick the vehicle up.
The service never disappoints. I have been here for pretty much all my car maintenance in the last three years. The crew is driven and is almost always having a good time.Miles takes care of everything ensuring I know all my options before proceeding.Thank you!
I wish I had the same experience as some of other reviewers on here who were broken down in the middle of this small town but unfortunately I did not. After my car repeatedly stalled on my way to California from Washington I managed to get my car to this place thinking they would be a saving grace but instead the very young and obviously inexperienced, not to mention very rude mechanic who looked at my car and ran a diagnostic said he couldn’t find anything and the car wasn’t acting up for him so he couldn’t help. After telling him I’m pretty sure it’s the fuel pump he argued with me saying there is no way to find that out and that he couldn’t help me and sent me on my way. Took my chance driving the car and of coarse it broke down in the middle of nowhere on the freeway almost killing me. EVENTUALLY I took it to a mechanic and by hooking up a simple scanner and taking some time with it he was able to determine it WAS IN FACT THE FUEL PUMP. Thanks for nothing guys!!
I was on my way home to California from Eugene when my Jeeps engine completely stopped. Miles and the crew at Valley View were amazing, even though the problem was really serious (a spun bearing). They drove me to Medford to pickup a rental, and were able to get me back on the road as soon as the parts came. I dont know if theyre the cheapest option around, but theyre professionals who know engines and spend their day helping people stranded like me. Thanks for doing such an amazing job!
I would give them more stars if I could. The level of care and service here is impeccable. Took the car in to get the ac fixed. Their diagnostic fee is half that of the other shops in the valley. They called and told me what needed to be repaired and gave me an estimate and got my okay before doing the work. They had it done within a day, but the next day it wasnt working again. They had me bring it back at no charge and got it working again. Unfortunately the next day it had stopped working. They hadnt found a leak or anything major, but were determined to get it fixed. They spent another day searching and tests and finally found the smallest of cracks hidden in the most difficult of locations. The leak repair was way out of our budget and they were super understanding. I asked if they could work with me and refund some of the previous repair cost, which they agreed to. Once I got to the shop to pick the car up, they had decided to refund all but the diagnostic fee. I was shocked. They truly are there to serve and repair with honesty and compassion. I will be using them for all future mechanic needs and I highly recommend them.
Great price and service. Worked on my 2010 diesel truck and saved me 2k from the dealer down the road. They have worked on all of my work vehicles and even do Sundays round the clock to get it back to you. Thanks guys!
Vince was super friendly and helpful!
My tire was going flat and I was searching for a gas station that had air and not only did the nice gentleman there fill up my tire for free he was very kind and considerate and very professional.
I absolutely love this place. Theyre honest and fast and affordable.
Fixed my trucks issues. Fair quotes compared to other shops. Will go there again.
I called because I was concerned about a couple of symptoms that my car was having. I specifically described a clunking/snapping sound when turning the wheel and a popping sound when braking. I dropped off my vehicle and several hours later I was told that bolts were lose and they wanted 140$ for retightening the bolts. Again, I specifically asked the mechanic if the retightening will stop the noise that I keep hearing and he assured me that it will. I arrived, payed and got to my car. As I started backing up, I heard the snapping sound again, the popping sound was gone. But the snapping sound was still there and immediately audible. I came back to the shop and the mechanic said he didn’t hear it. But I told himI just did, little upset, he drove the car again and he could hear it now, I was told to call to reschedule an inspection. I made an appointment for 1pm and I dropped off my car a little earlier than scheduled. I didn’t hear back from them, so I called them myself at near closing hours. The mechanic said that he didn’t hear the sound and he will further check it out tomorrow morning. If I didn’t call, they were just not gonna tell me a thing? I come to pick up my car and thee window is all the way down and it’s wet inside from the rain..... the moment I back up I hear the loud snapping sound again...so they are lying saying that they couldn’t hear it. I hear the snapping every time. Every single time. Since they did resolve the popping sound and dint try to sell me silly parts. I rate them at 2 stars. I was planning to bring my sisters vehicle and probably recommend this place to other people. But never mind that
These guys were awesome! Our SUV limped in with a completely flat rear tire. They were busy but still was able to peel a tech off to take care of our problem and get us safely back on the road within minutes. Best $15 I have ever spent!
Totally positive. 100% go to these guys, honest, fair, and professional, and they know what they are doing. They will answer any and all of your questions clearly and concisely.Chris ManleyAshland, Oregon
All staff very friendly, helpful, prompt and replaced an Alternator on our RV within 5 hours and we were back on the road. Blessings to all the staff we really appreciated your help. Karen & Mike
Ripped off my poor old grandma and mom had them pay $651.00 for parts for their car they didnt need our radiator was completely blown and clogged with gunk im no mechanic but anyone could tell it was completely shot . U guys should be worried about a lawsuit
AC belt came off and ate a chunk out of our serpentine belt near the end of our 800 mile trip. We called them on Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm. Vince and Turbo had us back on the road in less than an hour. Fastest, most professional shop Ive ever been to. In less than an hour they ordered the part, had it delivered, and back together. Thanks again.
We had to stop at Valley view because we got Brake warning with a couple other warnings on our drive to Seattle. The mechanic made sure that he resolved the Brake issue and the other warnings which showed up were resolved. He also din’t charge for the service as he told it’s important for him to make sure that we have a safe journey.
They put up with a lot of cheap here. World class techs who are passionate about their profession.
Rolled in (literally) last minute on a Sunday. They took great care of me and worked on my car immediately so I could get back on the road.
I went in to get a diagnostic done and they told me that I it was going to cost $2000 to fix an air intake issue, so I decided to get a second opinion at another shop, it cost me $435 to get it fixed at the other shop.Definitely not an honest price.
My wife and I were headed to Crescent City for the day and a plastic cover under my car came off. They welcomed me within seconds and had my car on the jack in minutes. The worker then fixed it for me free of charge and 15 minutes later we were back on the road headed for the beach! Thank you to that worker you made what could of ruined the trip a breeze!
Myles and the team were amazing. They did an inspection on a car I was buying and were so thorough and knowledgeable. He was probably the most knowledgeable mechanic Ive ever talked to
Had a very courteous experience, was brought home and picked up. No worries, had bought a car there before and it ran great for the time i had it. Very satisfied customer here
Myles and his team took great care of me. Experience, honesty, and integrity are all words that I will use to descibe this absolutely wonderful experience. They took care of me when the pass broke my car and made sure I was set up to finish the journey with my children. Thank you so much Valley View!!!
Really nice honest guys
Pulled in with a flat tire and they were so helpful they even let me borrow tools and helped with the wheel change
The only mechanics I will go to in the valley . If I could give more stars I would ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These guys are awesome. Good work, good people. Never been disappointed!
From fixing our family jeep, to an emergency repair on our rv, EVERYONE was professional and courteous and so fast. Thank you again!
This is one of the best shops in Oregon. We had our transmission blow a seal on our way from Portland to San Diego. We were almost to the Summit of the last big mountain pass before you get the California border. We reached out to the shop after already calling around. Did I mention we were pulling a Travel Trailer? I got a hold of Vince who gave me a great tow company to use.(best price as well) not only are the open on weekends but they have a space for a RV to park with hook up. He said we can get parked there and first thing they would take a look at it. We all did not have a good feeling, we thought the transmission was going to need to be replaced. They were able to get not only it fixed but also replaced my water pump before the shop closed. Curt one of the many great mechanics there did an amazing job and is an awesome person. Myles did everything he could to prevent transmission replacement. He went above and beyond. I wouldn’t hesitate to ever use this company. Good people here. Also did I mention this was all done on a Saturday after breaking down around 4-5pm on a Friday night?
I would like to give this business 0 stars. My daughter brought her car here as it was having some issues. They gave her an estimate of 591.99 to replace a oil pan and gasket. First that was not the problem with the car. It needed a new distributor. Second an oil pan for that particular car costs about $69.00. Their price $386.00 for parts and $200 odd dollars for labor. Thank goodness my daughter was not as stupid as they took her for and refused the service. This company should NOT be trusted.
Did good service.
They were extremely friendly and fast; we had brake trouble and needed our pads replaced and they got on it quickly, finishing in a couple hours.
Pulled off the freeway at this exit for fuel in my truck. Large cloud of smoke comes out from under hood. I plull over and see that a battery has failed. I look across the street and theres a repair shop. They say it could take an hour to see me, then realize that Im with my wife and two year old son. They pull me right in, get the electrical issue sorted and a new battery installed in under an hour. Very proficient. Very methodical. Very much worth my time checking in vs getting a tow.
These guys are awesome, super helpful and friendly. They work hard to satisfy your needs and do really awesome work. Myles is a great guy to work with. They go above and beyond to help you.
Half way through a long road trip, I unfortunately had to have my engine replaced. The team at Valley View Auto were great, especially Miles who gave honest and detailed advice. They let us sleep in our campervan in their lot overnight and have bathrooms, free water and coffee.
Do not assume, as I mistakenly did, that they will be less expensive than the dealer. $84 to replace my Subaru headlight (bulb only). Turns out it would have been free at Subaru Medford because Subaru is covering headlight replacements right now.
I had an interview here for a mechanic position years ago. When I pulled up I didnt even turn my truck off, I called and cancelled.Every time I drive by; Im more convinced thats the best decision Ive ever made.
I should state that I do own a Auto repair facility, and yes even we have issues while traveling from time to time. And this was such a time. While traveling to Cali. for some much needed r&r with my folks, his truck started leaking fuel. We saw them across the road and left the vehicle as they were very booked up, and most likely couldnt diagnose it until the morning. I had the leak located at the top of the fuel tank, and had prepared my folks for possible fuel pump replacement, but when they called it was nothing more than a failed evap. solenoid and cracked line. Job was completed that day at an extremely reasonable cost. If you find yourself traveling and in their area i would most definitely recommend Vince and his crew. Thanks for helping with Dads truck and keeping the vacation plans intact!!!!!!
So friendly! They had my van back on the road in short order. Well done!
Had a very good experience here while driving through town on a van trip. We broke down. They got us back on the road without excessive financial pain. They were clear and detailed in their explanations of the issue. Not pushy as to a certain course of action. They also expedited our repair, this was over a weekend. Smart and kind mechanics!
Dont let the aesthetics of this place fool you. It looks a bit rough, but is a great place to have your vehicle worked on.Vince has always been straight with me about what needs done and what gets done. This is the only place in town I take my car. Its been here a few times over the last couple years and Ive always been treated fairly. The shop provides a shuttle service if needed, because there is literally nothing within walking distance.
Myles and his team helped us when our van broke down on a Sunday heading back to California!Thank you!
The owner is a crook and some mechanics there are very shady. Ive been ripped off there before and know many others with bad experiences. Please go elsewhere.I feel sorry for the people coming off the highway from out of town with auto problems that dont know any better, worse yet this place is AAA approved. There should be laws in place to keep companies like this from operating, this is a disgrace.
Dont buy a car from him. I bought a used Cadillac that wouldnt pass I & M and he refused to do anything about it. That means he knowingly sells cars that wont pass certain qualifications. In my case if I cant get the car fixed I lose the money I paid for it, which is most likely. Thats $3000. So go there if you like to gamble. Mind you, everything but the Cadillac is opinion; I can provide proof of the Cadillac.
I have certainly encountered auto shops that have gone above and beyond and this place does not even come close. For allowing a car that had died to stay on their lot for 2 weeks, the first week being free of charge, and also giving a diagnostic estimate they charged $305 dollars. Claiming that for the average car place that is standard. However, after having a previous car with continual problems I was never charged for an auto shop to tell me what was wrong with the car, and have also had to leave a dead car for multiple weeks at a couple different auto shops in the Rogue Valley and was never charged.I do recommend Action Radiator in Talent, Oregon and Phoenix Auto Center in Phoenix, Oregon as these places were beyond helpful and have done both of the services previously mentioned without charging. The staff at Action Radiator were immensely helpful during my previous cars final years and were very reasonable in price when I did need to actually pay for legitimate services.
This garage is fantastic. Their prices are fair and they do the job right. They have a group of great diagnosticians and are very careful with the vehicle. I take all of my cars to them.
Whats with only 3 stars this place deserves 10 stars ! Very knowledgeable and they helped me get my car back on the road when i really needed it. Thanks Guys!
Went to look at a car for sale, Greg said there was nothing wrong with it. Test drove it and ran fine. Paid for it and signed an as is agreement. Two days later, starts pouring coolant everywhere. Turned out the water pump was bad and you have to do the timing belt with it. Now Im looking at over 800 dollars in parts alone. He claims that they fix everything on the cars that is wrong with them before selling them. I doubt it was a coincidence that the water pump went bad while I had it for less then 48 hours. I would strongly advise against doing business with this place.
People know why! Shame. Praying for you. Peace. In Christ. tj
My fiance, daughter, and I were heading over Mt Shasta yesterday on our way home to Portland when suddenly our van began violently and uncontrollably shaking and the wheels locked up.The van had always been a little rumble-y, but two other mechanics had inspected it and chalked it up to old van noises and told us it was nothing to worry about and was safe to drive.Something was now very wrong and we nursed it along at 30mph for HOURS until we found Valley View Auto Repair -- the only mechanic shop open on a Sunday within a hundred miles.Myles politely let us know that there was a long wait (5+ hours) before there would be someone available to check out our van, but offered to give it a quick look in case there was something obvious. After 10 seconds under our van he had identified the problem that two other mechanics had failed to catch -- we had been driving with only 2 out of the 4 drive line bolts, and had just lost the 3rd which caused the sudden, dangerous shaking.Because we were a family traveling from out of town and we had a dangerous issue with our vehicle, they moved us up the line to get us taken care of ASAP. It was fixed faster and cheaper than expected, and a few hours later we were on the road with the van driving smoother than it ever has before for us! All the rattling is gone and we are so, SO happy we found Myles at Valley View.Thank you so much!
Brought our Prius in with my boyfriend. Was nervous at first because of previous reviews but we really believe They are turning it around. Josh was super honest helped us get our car back in the road and didn’t charge anything. 10/10
Cheapest pricing for excellent, friendly service!
I have been a long time customer at Valley Veiw Auto. Miles and Vince Take their time to answer all of my questions and go above and beyond the call of duty. I have always gotten more then I pay for. I feel like I can trust them and they always have a conservative yet comprehensive approach to the work they do and I LOVE THEM!The entire team at Valley Veiw is amazing and I honestly believe it’s because the individuals that are leading that team are incredible people and great and what they do. THANK YOU Vally Veiw Auto repair.
Down to earth, skilled mechanics; genuinely good, trustworthy people.
Wow. These guys. I took my car in to get my timing belt changed and paid just under $1000 to do it. The belts were squeeling off the lot after they were replaced. After a month I took it back and they “fixed” the problem. However, a couple of weeks later my battery light came on while I was driving, my speedometer dropped and my car started malfunctioning. I pulled into a gas station in time for my car to turn off and not start again. It turns out that in order to fix the problem or just create a new one for me, these guys didn’t tighten my alternator back on all the way, which prevented the belt from charging the battery... which killed the battery... costing me $130. Now that the alternator isn’t hanging by one bolt, my belts are squeezing again! Thanks guys, now I’ll have to pay some other mechanic to fix a problem that you all started. But I’d rather pay someone else than have you tamper with some other part on my car.Oh! And when they called to tell me my beltd were fixed the second time, they told me that my clutch had to be pressed all the way down to shift and I’d need a new transmission which would run me $1500 or more... without looking at it at all.Don’t trust these people! I used to and now I regret it. Just don’t!
LIED TO!I took my car in for a free inspection. There service was very convenient and accommodating but I felt I was lied in the end. I was told that my timing belt looked ancient, that my rear brake drums were cracked and some other claims on top of that. After going to multiple other mechanics and reading old records I was informed that my brakes were in great shape and needed no repair and my timing belt looked decent. I consulted old records and found out that the timing belt was changed years ago and only has 6,000 miles on the new belt. I will never bring my car here for inspection and I recommend being very skeptical of the necessary repairs that Valley View auto repairman reccomend.
Great place
Professional and courteous with diagnosising car trouble. Myles was super helpful
OMG.. How lucky am I to have followed my boyfriends suggestion to go to Valley View auto repair. I was hesitant after seeing Google reviews posted here. However, I now think perhaps these people went somewhere else and thought they went to VVAR. Today, AAA towed my vehicle to valley view. Miles. the Mechanic, without hesitation found the problem in less than 2 minutes and resolved it. FREE, no less, amazing. 5 minutes later we were on the road heading down the highway. Thanks Valley View much appreciation to all. Miles thanx for your help.
We broke down in Ashland coming back from California. The service was horrible as was the technicians explanations and notes on the invoice were so vague. After spending over $1500, one would certainty think there would be quality work done. According to another shop, they left parts loose which caused oil leaks and engine damage. DO NOT ever take your vehicle here for any repairs!
Very helpful, fast and good rates compared to other mechanics in the area. Being open seven days a week is a plus.
Integrity. Honest Owner. and good mechanics, so i bought a used car from Valley View, signing an as is contract also,. turned out it had a major mechanical problem... The boss, Greg took it back and refunded my money,. Wow, thank You Valley View!!
The nice man put his gasoline into my car.
This is the worst company/mechanic in the Rogue Valley. What a scammer. The owner is very dishonest with no integrity. I bought a used car from him and asked all the right questions before I bought it. He lied about everything in regards to the car. I thought he would be trustworthy but thats not the case. The car I bought had a blown head gasket, it developed leaks from the timing chain cover and the CV joints were shot. He showed me false records of all the maintenance and work he did to it and said it would be good for my 16 year old daughter. I took it back with 50 miles on it and he said it wasnt like that when it left and he said he wouldnt touch it. This place should be shut down and this guy thrown in jail. Hes a con artist with no morals or integrity. I cant stand people like this. Please do not buy anything from this place or have anything worked on here. I hate to say it but this is the lowest low life out there.
We had our wipers break during a down pour while coming home from california and got stuck and we waited out the rain and got to their shop and they were able to fix them enough so we could get back on the road i am thankful for them and appreciate them saving us since the state pd and the insurance and the 911 would not do anything to help us
Well I read the feed backs, But our story is our own and not judging the station, well here goes we were on our way back to Fresno Ca. from Vancouver Wa. going over the grade over the Mountain only four miles from the Calif. border and we broke down. Called AAA for tow at three in the Sunday morning. Tow truck driver got there at about four-o- clock and I was going to have him tow us to Reeding Ca. 130 miles away and we only had 100 mile tow and would have to paid for thirty miles. My wife the tow truck driver if he knew about a good diesel mechanic. He said that he knew of a great mechanic, but he was back where we came from exit 19. So we got towed to that location and it was the same spot that we had just filled up. We got there about five-o-clock. the gas attendant said that the mechanics dont start till 8:00 am . so we waited till then and Myles put this kid on my truck and worked on it for three hours on and off. took six codes off computer and cleared them. and took it for a test drive and no codes came back. he said that he thought it was the high pressure oil pump. Myles said we could leave it and they can had it fixed. I told him if he was closer to our home I would but we had to get home due to us both needed to work. so I asked Myles what we owed him, and he said nothing. We were so surprised we couldnt believe it. I gave him sixty dollars and told him that lunch was on us. and we made it safe to Fresno Ca. Thanks a lot, from the Gamboas
Thanks for all your help!
This place gets 0 stars for trying to rip me off. I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee which belonged to my wife before we got married. She got another car so I started driving it. She took excellent care of it and I did too. We ended up getting another car so we gave it to my daughter. After having it under 2 weeks it started giving them a problem. Running rough and jerky and sometimes dying. Her boyfriend wanted to take it to Valley View auto repair because they give “free” estimates. Well they said it needed a coil pack, cam synchronizer and crankshaft sensor for a total of $782.20. Seemed odd that 3 parts would go bad at the same time plus I changed the crankshaft sensor a couple years ago. I took it to Ladd automotive in Medford because they replaced the water pump for me when I first got it. After checking it, they said it needed a coil pack and spark plugs for a total of $245.81. Ladd told me 3 coils in the coil pack were bad and it looked like someone took the spark plugs out and opened up the electrode gap a lot. Valley view wanted $112.50 in labor just for changing the spark plug which takes all of 30 minutes. The breakdown of their estimate was $350 labor and $421.70 in parts. I’m retired now but I worked in a service type industry for over 40 years. I know that some people are gullible and will believe anything someone tells them. It’s company’s like Valley View that give service people a bad name. I wouldn’t let them work on my lawnmower much less the car I depend on. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB. Beware of these thieves. Go to Ladds.
Do not trust them. They do things like fixing things that arent wrong. Or claiming they did some fix that they havent. Also, now and then they will charge two to three times as much as the Retail price for parts.
It seems like this place is hit or miss. People have paid $100 to have mufflers repaired with duct tape. Personally they replaced my axle and after the repair a slew of other problems started happening. They didnt have itemized recepts and conveniently didnt keep my parts after being asked to keep them after the repair. Questions I had were met with micro aggressive remarks and comments from Miles. If youre looking for a cheap fix you can bet your money theyll find that route and take it with or without your permission. Id go as far to say that its very unlikely they stay in buisness from repeat customers but rather the I5 passerby that cant and wont catch a break. Theyre also conveniently open on Sundays
On July 26th I went to the shop to purchase a car that I saw in an ad. I dealt with Vince who is a manager I believe. the car was a 00 Kia Sportage listed at $3, 000. I was allowed to take a quick look at it, and take it for a short test drive. There was some concerns so I ended up paying $2, 500 for it. I was provided no buyers manual, no warranty and was not told it was sold as is. I was told that they would be happy to fix anything that goes wrong shortly after the purchase, and that they dont survive as a business by screwing people over.By the time I got home that same day, the engine was overheating, antifreeze was spilling everywhere. after taking a good look under the hood, I started to notice all kinds of bolts missing brackets missing things hanging off, strapped to each other. The main Big Bolt in the alternator was completely gone, bolts for tensioners and belts were missing. The car was just completely jerry-rigged back together.I called the shop and they told me to bring it in the next day and they will look at it. If it was sold as is they would not have done that so there goes that claim. The next day I went to start it to bring it in, and the car stalled three times. Eventually I was able to get it to the mechanic. I pointed out all the missing bolts pieces and brackets and they told me that I was very observant. After waiting for about 5 hours, they acknowledged that there was a lot of problems with it, but basically that they werent going to spend the day fixing a used old vehicle. I was told that the fan clutch was shot, amongst a few other things that again they just werent going to fix for me. So I took the car back home. I changed the thermostat myself and the car ran okay for another couple days. A week later, due to everything being loose in the engine and other bolts missing, the fan shifted and shattered into 5 pieces shredding the radiator completely. I purchased a new radiator and fan on my own and replace those for $210. The car would not start stilo. I ended up taking it to a mechanic shop which diagnose the issues which were many. Labor and parts were going to cost around $4, 000 which is way more than what the vehicle cost. everything from the timing belt to the water pump to other parts were completely shot. I called the shop and ask to speak to Vince or miles who were the people I dealt with on both occasions so far. This time it was the owner who answered who I believe is named Frank. Frank listen to my explanation of the problems I had with the car I just paid almost $3, 000 for a few days earlier, he told me that the car is sold as is, and just like any other customer if I would like to tow the car there he would be happy to diagnose it. I explained to him that although I know its a used car, you cant just sell a lemon that breaks down the same day. He told me theres nothing he can do and hung up the phone. The next day my uncle who is a little more knowledgeable about cars and all of that, called up the owner again. He explained that its not right that they sold a car that lasted a day and simply washed their hands of it. The owner responded with when I tell you now its sold as it, I hope you know what Im saying and hung up the phone again.i began researching local laws against transactions like this and I have found that I meet all requirements for a legal intervention if I decide to proceed so. I was not told that the car was simply sold as is and that they would not fix anything, I was not provided with a buyers manual and I have documentation from a mechanic concerning everything wrong with the vehicle that was sold to me. Currently I am filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, both of my credit card companies that I paid or the car with, and considering filing with the Department of Justice if its worth my time. It wasnt until today that I checked Google reviews and see that there are a lot of people that had the same exact experience as me. It seems this place just sells junk cars and washes theirnhand of it. 2500$ for a week of driving. Thanks frank
Crooks!! There are other shops in town way better then this one, beware of over priced repairs and dishonesty. I had to learn the hard way. There should be a law against owners who do business this way.
My car broke down in Ashland and Ihad it towed here. The mechanics diagnosed my problem as a broken timing belt/camshaft. I decided to do the work myself but they didnt charge me a dime for leaving my car for a couple days or the diagnostic. Overall great experience.
Incredible people and extremely friendly and helpful. Our car broke down in Ashland on our way to California and it was towed there. It was past closing for the shop but the gas station tenants help place the car. They assured that since we were traveling that itll be looked at first thing in the morning. My friend and I were on a strict budget and could hardly afford a hotel knowing the cost of repairs. They allowed us to pitch our tent in the field behind the shop which felt perfectly safe with a tenant working overnight. First thing in the morning they ran a diagnostic and our fuel pump went out. The reason for 4 starts is because they quoted us for a $775 fuel pump when we knew perfectly well that was way too much We took an uber to ORileys and got a $400 pump. When we got back they started working on it immediately. We sat at the picnic table while they worked and it only took a couple hours. All of the staff was sooo friendly and intelligent.
Our vehicle broke down near Ashland around closing time on Friday. We had it towed to valley view auto and they had the timing belt swapped the very next day around 3pm. Work was done for $500. Shop may seem sketchy, but the mechanics seemed honest about the work.
Guys were great but the Tec thrown at my rv was slow to the point me and my 3 kids slept in there parking lot for 2 days with me finally fixing one thing for him on his lunch break *part of the fuel system* finally we had a good Tec jump on it but he was taken off our rv for other jobs taking longer. then leaving with problems created by the first tec Ultimately we lost our rv from overheat because of a loose belt that was half assed after installing my alternator. Im not taking action or attaching just sharing the truth
Excellent service
My car broke down on a Sunday and unfortunately this was the only shop open. Repairing my cars head gasket took almost a week, they charged me for spark plugs that they didnt touch, completely missed noticing the fuel pump and filter needed to be replaced and left fuel lines loose which caused my car to break down the next day. And this was after making me wait another day while they tested it and made sure it was road ready. Much good that did! When the mechanic at the next shop called they couldnt even tell him anything about my car because its all on the invoice. The invoice was so vague even another mechanic was confused by it! This place is overpriced and will rip you off if you are a traveler passing through! The free shuttle isnt worth getting screwed over and having your car break down a day later!
Heading to California for spring break with the family and our 93 Eurovan broke down going up the pass south of Ashland late Saturday afternoon. On another shops recommendation had it towed to Valley View after hours and the attendant was very helpful. The next morning Miles and his excellent team of mechanics were working on it at 8am, quickly diagnosed the problem, provided recommendations and options, and pulled out all the stops to have the work done by noon. They even shuttled our family, dog, and gear from our hotel in Medford to the shop for free. The work was done at a very reasonable price. We expected to be stranded for days and cancel our trip, so we lucked out to find these excellent mechanics - and on a weekend! Couldnt have asked for more - wish I could get this kind of service from my mechanic at home!
Always great service.
Very good customer service
