This is a cute cafe with a little vibe, but its bigger than it looks! Plenty of seating indoors, even with social distancing. They also do a great job of keeping everyone clean and safe. They compost and recycle all the waste, overall very mindful business. The food was very good! Each item had that one little extra thing on it that makes you go Wow, thats good! the everything avocado toast had fresh bread, well seasoned, egg cooked perfectly, and the pork bacon was top of the line 👌🏼 the breakfast burrito was flavorful and filling. The Root Hash in it was unique but really made the dish. The green day smoothie was a perfect start to breakfast. The huckleberry was a delicious lighter choice. Overall wonderful food, atmosphere, and staff!

Good breakfast spot. My husband had the Appalachian trail plate and I had the spinach goat sandwich as well as black coffee and tea.Staff were very friendly and we had a nice start to the morning sitting at the sidewalk tables. My husband said the coffee was fine, but nothing very special. A little expensive food-wise for the portion size, but they do try to do locally sourced foods, which is appreciated. Would return in the future if I was looking for a more gourmet fast-casual breakfast

The selection of vegetarian, vegan, and Gluten Free options were mind blowing! I love that everything here is locally grown & organic - not to mention the breakfast burrito was delicious!I also appreciate that their straws are plant-based and 100% compostable. Just another way local shops like Green Sage are taking steps to help reduce waste. They even will take back your used Green Sage bottles to go towards conservation efforts.

This place is awesome! Everything that I have had from them was amazingly fresh! We originally went in to get Cappuccino but decided to eat here when we saw the menu! Needless to say, that was the right call! First off, the Cappuccino is the best that I have ever had outside of Italy! The Breakfast Burrito was very large and delicious! The Egg Ciabatta was very nice with Vital Farms eggs, chimmimayo and served on locally baked ciabatta bread. The Kimchi Reuben was out of this world good! I ordered the turkey version. It was very filling as well! The Pura Vida Bowel was healthy, filling and delicious! It had two sunny side up Vital Farms egg, black beans, sautéed kale and onion, too hash (unbelievably good), brown rice, guacamole and a side of salsa verde. One thing not to miss is Red Lentil Indian Sambar with toasted coconut garnish. The flavors were layered and very deep! I spent some time in Southern India and this sambar is better than any I had there! This place is quintessential Asheville and is NOT to be missed!

We LOVED this place. Everything was kept well cleaned and organized. Ordering was efficient, employees were friendly and provided great customer service. The space was open with large windows and natural light, yet somehow cozy. They had delicious vegetarian, vegan, and non-veg options for breakfast/brunch and lunch. They value sustainability and community- the self bussing station was easy to find and clearly labeled with a compost and recycling center. Everything we ate was top notch and made from scratch in house. I would eat here everyday if I could.

Went in to grab a coffee, ordered a vanilla mint latte with almond milk. Thought more from this place since I had ordered delicious breakfast in the past and it was very good. The coffee wasn’t too great at all! My fiancé also ordered a cookie and didn’t realize it was gluten free and vegan, we looked later and it was in very small print, not very noticeable. Not the best experience, we couldn’t finish our lattes because they just weren’t the best and not worth what we paid. Would like to go back and get some lunch items but left disappointed.

While the service was very friendly and we appreciated that the spot was open early so that we could grab a quick breakfast and get on the road, their execution on egg biscuits was very underwhelming. They looked fantastic, the taste just wasn’t there though. I would’ve liked a sharp cheddar cheese or pepper Jack to add more flavor, which was an option, I just don’t tend to order them on breakfast biscuits in the morning. They had a great iced tea selection of multiple flavors, but no soft drinks for my other half who wanted a caffeinated Coke a cola option early in the morning. If we had been staying in and dining there, I definitely would have ordered one of the breakfast bowls which looked fantastic. I would give this place another visit in the future, believing that their more healthful items and vegetarian and vegan options are definitely where they shine as opposed to the breakfast biscuits.

In high school, I toured Green Sage as a part of the CAYLA program and learned about how sustainable it is and so on. Upon returning to AVL with my girlfriend, I met in college; I was eager to show her Green sage. During the pandemic, we waited outside in a line of uncomfortable white people for our turn only to be overlooked for an old white couple. I addressed the issue with the all-white staff, who apologized and informed me they were understaffed; the staff was sweet but lacking diversity-they encouraged me to speak up for the nameless folk who may have experienced the same thing. I felt so disrespected we left to ear elsewhere.

Great little breakfast/lunch spot for a healthy bite. After days of fried food, this was a very welcome change in cuisine. This location just reopened and was quite busy on a Saturday morning. We waited about 10 minutes for a table to dine in. Everything from the tofu scramble to the bowls, the platters and sandwiches were good. They do a great job hiding any kale so you are eating healthy but still tasty. I didnt think there was enough kale! Everything is quite filling. Our server was so friendly and super nice.
