Great place to have an ice cream sandwich in Asheville. The interior is bright and airy, and filled with the smell of freshly baked cookies. I had a mint chip sandwich with chocolate chip cookies, and for $5 its hard to beat the chocolatey minty goodness!

We had a fantastic experience working with Sunshine Sammies for our wedding! We were from out of town and communication with Susie was easy throughout the entire process; from rescheduling to picking flavors. Everyone loved the ice cream cart set-up and raved about the flavors. We coudnt recommend them enough for a fun alternative to the usual wedding cake!

I had the key lime ice cream with the graham cracker cookie, and it was excellent! The place was nice and the people were friendly. Highly recommend for dessert!

YUM! I loved the ice cream sandwiches here. They are pre packaged and the cookies are so soft. I liked that the ice cream did not squeeze out the other side when I took a bite. The pumpkin gingerbread one they have right now is amazing!

Sunshine Sammies was delicious! The servings are huge and they have some unique cookie and ice cream flavors. It was fairly busy on the Tuesday evening we visited and they had tables outdoors. They are dog friendly so it was fun to have some dining partners. One less star because the staff was not overly friendly.

The best ice cream sandwich I have ever consumed. The cookies were soft, but not too soft. The ice cream was not too hard. It was easy to eat which is tough to say about some other ice cream sandwiches.

This place is heavenly! I am dairy free and have been craving some good vegan ice cream. The vegan ice cream sandwich was DELICIOUS- I would have never known it wasn’t “real”. My friends got other sammies and also loved them! Will definitely be back. Thank you for having such a delicious vegan option! :)

Normally I dont stand in line as Im too impatient, but these looked so good that I did. Im glad I waited. There were just 3 younger workers, but they took orders, made the Sammies and baked the cookies. They were great at their jobs! The Sammie I ordered was the graham cracker cookie with the milk chocolate ice cream - it was delicious! It was so worth the wait. I actually shared it with somebody and if youre not too hungry thats a good option but this is really worth eating the whole thing! Would definitely go back.

Ice cream was great tasting. But when we went back 2 days later we got to the counter and they informed us they were out of like every flavor. Chocolate, vanilla and cookie dough were the most surprising. There was no signage and to get to the counter after waiting in a long line to just turn around is disappointing.

These Ice Cream Sandwiches are delicious. I had only tried the pre-made ones until the other day. Having a fresh one made up is the way to go. Their chocolate cookie has a little bit of a ginger snap flavor. I had the seasalt caramel with the sugar cookie it was so good.

Okay, I was under the impression I was getting ice cream. This was not true. It was vegan. That being said, Im open to vegan options. I have had fantastic vegan ice cream. This, however, was not good. Not even decent. It was supposed to be strawberry. I couldnt taste any strawberry, but I could taste vinegar. What the heck is that about?Do you like cracking your teeth on baked goods? You can do that here! All for the tiny price of $6! Next time, Im going to pick up a toll house cookie sandwich at the gas station.

Dang, Sammies! I just thought I would hang on the balcony of my hotel and enjoy my little mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich, but after the 1st bite...I had to stop and take a pic. Soooo Good!! So, Sunshine Sammies is a pick up spot with seating outside. The sandwiches are pre-packaged, so very quick pick up. I wasnt expecting them to be pre-packaged and I was pretty bummed...until the next day when I cracked open the plastic wrapping and tasted the ice cream snack of my dreams. Seriously if youre in Asheville, go buy you a Sammie, or buy several. They are really tasty 😋

The ice cream tasted very good, and their cookies were ok. But they hand you your ice cream sandwich in a bag. No spoon or bowl. Made it extremely awkward and messy to eat.

I absolutely love Sunshine Sammies. Im a big foodie and when I got pregnant, I became an even bigger one. It was during that time I discovered this place while on vacation. Every kind word describes my experience and every great description describes their dessert. Its always a must when we are in town.

This place is amazing! Their flavors are all great and I love some of the more unique ones (like grape and rosemary). The cookies are soft and delicious and they are easy to eat without it falling apart or squishing the ice cream out. It’s also cool that you can find their sandwiches in some stores locally, as well.

We really enjoyed our treats from Sunshine Sammies! The salted caramel ice cream sandwich was delicious and my friend really liked her cookie dough sandwich as well. Everything was pretty reasonably priced. I was impressed by how well the ice cream sandwiches held up as we were walking around while eating them and the ice cream didn’t slide off and make a mess. Definitely check this place out for a yummy treat!

Delicious! They are currently doing pre-made sandwiches, bc covid, but we were still super happy with our choices. We tried the blueberry muffin, the caramel, The cookie dough, and the peach. We also tried a couple of the sodas. All of it was delicious! Will definitely be back.

Went in 4 minutes before opening( did not know that since the door was open) it was down pouring and we were told they were closed we needed to wait outside. During that time we walked in the two coworkers were standing/sitting doing nothing to prepare to open and one person was tilting the chairs outside because of the rain. One thing we love dong when traveling is dining in local businesses. I guess my money was not good enough.

My husband and I were in town for 48 hours and went to Sunshine Sammies 3 times! The flavors were so amazing we had to keep coming for more! The cookies and ice cream were perfectly soft making it really easy to eat. The fall seasonal flavor pumpkin spice latte with snickerdoodle cookies was out of this world! Definitely recommend for a sweet treat in Asheville.

It’s a cute place. My bf ordered chocolate ice cream sandwich, he liked it. I got Concord grape, the grape flavor is too light. And ice cream with the sweet cookie turn to be too sweet.

Eating some ice cream Sammie’s after eating some great mex food at Sonoras. I try the goat cheese ice cream with local honey on a pecan butter cookie and a graham cracker because they were out of pecan! The result was mouthwatering, I will definitely come back and try more flavors but I love the goat cheese.

I love this place! I had the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream (adventurous..not!) and it was so yummy. My husband had mint chocolate chip icecream with a chocolate cookie. He said the cookie overpowered the taste of the ice cream, but was still really good. A nice place to drop in for a quick sweet treat!

Delicious! I didnt commit to the full cookie sandwich but more of a cookie taco - one snickerdoodle cookie with strawberry + pretzel ice cream. So yummy! The pretzels werent crunchy anymore, of course, but they added a nice salt flavor to balance the sweetness of the strawberry. The snickerdoodle cookie was perfectly soft and chewy. My husband got the cold brew cookies and cream ice cream (amazing) with a chocolate chip cookie, which he said wasnt soft but still tasty!

I had the concord grape and my girlfriend had the cookie dough. They were phenomenal!! The concord grape was amazing; it reminded me of eating grape jelly and the cookie was soft enough to match the ice creams consistency -- which is how all ice cream sandwiches should be!!

A return of a childhood favorite! The ice cream was good, the cookies were great, and the service was excellent! If youre sharing they will cut the cookie in half for you— or you can go big and eat the whole thing! An Asheville must visit in a city of must visits!

This dessert and coffee place is just perfect. You cant get a better tasting cookie/icecream sandwich that I know. They use locally and organically sourced ingredients and youll wait the 5-10 minutes happily (if theres a line) to get your handful of magic. The cold brew that I ordered was good, but prefer it not to have ice so it makes me think it might be stored or brewed differently than Im accustomed. I will not doing a star for that in the slightest though. This place is what you want out of life: A pleasant and glorious reprieve from our busy schedules.

I was here yesterday as a visitor from Chapel Hill and I had a craving for an ice cream so I decided to stop here on my stroll. I ordered the cookie dough one and it was very delicious and I was satisfied. It tasted so homemade and I could tell right away, the ingredients they use to make their sandwiches and ice cream is real, and nothing artificial which I’m very expectant of. I will definitely be back next time I visit downtown Asheville. Much better than a store brand ice cream sandwich haha!

I splurged for the Classic Dough - a couple modest scoops of cookie dough ice cream beautifully nestled between two chocolate chip cookies. I’d call this the American dream. Highly recommend, especially if your group is torn between wanting different dessert options. Cookies, ice cream and toppings all available for customization! My only suggestion is to offer *mini* sammies.

Disappointing...Ordered 2 sammies and after arriving to pickup, I was told to take them out of the freezer from the prepackaged ones. If I wanted a prepackaged (not fresh) one, I would’ve passed on it entirely. Basically overpaid for a store bought ice cream sandwich in the end.

I dont live in Asheville, but everytime my family visits we stop at Sunshine Sammies. I get a different Sammie each time and havent been disappointed.

I probably really should have given it a one star review. First, they told me they cant do any toppings outside of sprinkles because of Covid. If you can do sprinkles then you can do hot fudge. Just wear gloves and a mask. Its really not complicated. Ive been to a dozen other places that have served more complicated food with no issue. Second, 5 dollars for what amounted to a scoop and a half of ice cream that was nothing special?! Good lord! If I wasnt knee deep into my seventh brewery by then I would have laughed at the joke. I get that I arrived at 845, but if you cant do a literal 1 minute order at 845, why are you still open? I cant imagine it amounted to anything short of laziness. If I can type properly at this point you can put some hot fudge on a little ice cream.

Pretty solid ice cream shop & the cookies are sugary & chewy. The real star is the ice cream sandwiches, I usually stick to their tried & true combos. Their seasonal flavors can be a hit or miss but when theyre a hit, watch out.

Ohhh man, this place was delicious! The employees were very nice. The ice cream and cookies are incredible. The place is decorated with bright colors that make you happy as soon as you walk in. I highly recommend this place.

Loved this place! Cute little patio. Did a great job with cleanliness and social distancing. Their sandwiches were delicious! I got Key Lime Pie (which part of the proceeds went to the Southern Poverty Law Center) and it was delicious and citrusy! My friend had the vegan peanut butter, which she loved! Would recommend for a sweet treat after a long day of touring or hiking!
