Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but I wasnt impressed with the chai latte and my muffin had a hair in it. My partner ordered the egg and cheese biscuit, and that was bland as well. Stars for the cute vibe and the friendly staff.
Ive been going here for years. If youre looking for the best coffee in town, definitely stop by. If not for the coffee, definitely for the staff. Friendly conversations, and sweet smiles.
Awesome place a bit tucked away from the main drag. It has a great atmosphere and really good coffee. I got the cold brew, very smooth (more of a house blend than anything else) which was perfectly refreshing for the hot day
A little on the pricier side but the coffee is really rich and well processed! I enjoyed their dairy free options and their sustainable packaging practices. My husband got their vanilla latte and we bought a bag of coffee. Staff could have been a little friendlier though- I dont think they were quite awake yet.
Great coffee. Better service. A perfect start to my day.
Amazing coffee! The Cubano hot is my favorite. The Cesspool of Cinnamon should be called Baklava.
GIVE ME ALL OF THE CUBANOSSSSS!!What a breathe of fresh air in a town where customer service is ok at best. You all really up the par. Also, did I say CUBANO? I will save the surprise and let you find out on your own. Dont forget to grab some of the delicious baked goods. Those chocolate chip cookies with sea salt are delish. ❤️
Ive never left a coffee shop with such distaste in my mouth. Their Chai was clearly hotdog water and im pretty sure the fruit fly that crawld out of my bagel had been making a residence in there for a while. It felt as if 8 was being oppressed as soon as I walked through the door. Hate being judged by pretentious coffee peons
Great little coffee shop close to Sweet Peas Hostel. I went there two mornings in a row for a cappuccino. Props to them for not asking me what size I wanted since a traditional cappuccino is only made one size.My drink was spot on! The employees were super friendly and helpful, and they had an amazing GF tahini/sesame cookie. I docked 1 star because I’m not into the oatmilk trend, and that is the only DF alternative milk they had.
THIS SHOP IS AMAZING!!!Great hospitality 6/5 stars
Really nice coffeehouse. Enjoyed the Hibiscus tea. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Coffee was great but expect to take it to go. No room.
Really nice place, good vibe and nice music. Decent wifi speed.Issue: not too many seats, not sure if it is a post covid thing.
Excellent coffee quality, I love counter culture. The ratios are consistently on point. High Five makes their syrups in house, and all I have tried are great. The lattes are never too sweet and perfectly balanced.
Covid barricade set up by front door. I understand businesses have the option to choose their own mask protocols now. This place is still fully masked and socially distancing
Im glad that everyone seems to love this coffee because I want to see the local places thrive... So Im going to chalk up the most horrible coffee that Ive ever tasted..because I couldnt finish it....to a bad morning for the barista. My cappuccino was bitter, had zero foam.... With so many cool options around, I wont be back to this one.
Great hot chocolate, cappuccino, and vanilla latte, the baristas are very friendly and have great suggestions for other places around Asheville!
Terrific local coffee shop that has great coffee (Counter Culture) with espresso drinks, pour overs, regular drip and also tea and chai drinks. The choice was sort tasty as was the chai. Looks like they also have a great variety of alternate beverages and a good set up if you have a group thats chasing or smaller takes for working or studying.
Lovely local coffee shop, covering all the basics with friendly staff and well made drinks.
Horrible experience today. I work down the street and come in very often, but after how I was treated by the lady working there today, I will never be back. I even called and asked to speak with a manager with no return call. My day was already horrible and then I was treated like yesterday’s trash. No thanks! I’ll spend my money somewhere more welcoming!
Great little coffee shop in super convenient part of downtown, super delicious coffee and great ambience!
❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️⭐❤️I was supposed to go on a hike today.. but I ended up finding every excuse to sit here and drink more coffee.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere was a pleasure to stop by for some coffee. Gonna become a regular
Stopped in for a coffee with a splash of vanilla and half and half. Basic yet phenomenal! Perfectly brewed, balanced, hot but not dangerously. The guy who served it, precious Lord forgive me for not knowing it, was super friendly and welcoming. Will be back next time I’m in town.
We went 3 times in less than 24h. The coffee is quite good. Cant wait to check out interior vibes post-covid.
Still on strict mask rules. Its all line up, order and get out. Prepare to be instructed.
Delicious coffee, inclusive environment, and great service!
One of my favorite coffee shops. The staff was super friendly and willing to chat. They were very knowledgeable about coffee as well, knowing exactly what the coffee should taste like. The location also has a super warm, inviting feeling to it. This was a place I made sure to stop by every day. My go to order was drip coffee with a shot of single origin espresso.
Lattes are very good. Value, meh. Full price for half sized drinks.
Please avoid this location!!! the managers are so rude after I told them there were tiny bugs in my coffee. still confused how the bugs got there??? i’m still traumatized though
Delicious lattes, chill environment.
Wonderful coffee, food, and people! Highly recommend!
Quick service, really good lattes. Limited milk options, but there was a nondairy option
My cappuccino was with spoiled milk. You’ll love this place, if you love all possible and impossible unreasonable Covid restrictions.
The girl behind the counter was rude to my friend.
I prefer the Broadway location, just cause the staff is a little more personable. But the coffee is always good! My favorite is an iced cubano. In normal circumstances the Baristas choice is a good option also.
High Five has great coffee! I love their Cubano, and I think their bagels and cream cheese are delicious. I have always had a good experience when getting coffee from High Five.
Very rude waiter. Gave a hand holder with great displeasure after my request
Super atmosphere and great iced latte!
As a coffee brew method and roast nerd I loved this place. Serves Counter Culture coffee, a popular Durham roastery. Very knowledgeable staff with some great drip coffee methods. My wife ordered a delicious vanilla latte and even my sons hot chocolate came with a design in the foam. Highly recommended.
A very good iced coffee. They carry Counter Culture, say no more.
[The only thing that saved this place from a single star is the matcha for me]...Now that Ive tasted the sandwich I bought i stand corrected. The chai is absolutely terrible, Along with the service. Hummus Sandwich was stale and soggy simultaneously. These people obviously make any and everything political for any offset reasons, me my wife just wanted coffee, matcha and a biscuit(no biscuits) got 40 minutes of wasted time instead. To each their own this is my own. Please I would not waste your time.
We found this quaint little spot by accident, we just happened to see it as we were leaving the parking deck and glad we did!! My coffee was almost to pretty to drink, I got the Cuban and it was simply heavenly😍......my daughter got an ice coffee which I am not crqzy about but was so good I drank most of hers. If you havent been you need stop by
A must-visit when I am in Asheville. Great coffee, assorted snacks, kind and courteous staff. I appreciated their COVID protocol this recent visit- wait in line outside, only one person/pair ordering inside at a time, wait outside for your order.
Great spot for quick coffee and safe practices for Covid takeout. Coffee is the star, but a good place to grab a bagel or something small on the go.
Good coffee, people were rude.
Had chai tea latte. Was average. Cafe corona standards are pretty decent allowing each customer at a time and maintaining cleanliness.
I was excited to try this coffee shop as it had great reviews and I was visiting town. I thought I’d give it a try. They do not allow you to sit inside which was not cool because it was rainy and windy. Guy was rude and told me to pull my mask up even before even saying hi first. Extremely rude, unprofessional did not like the atmosphere, did not feel invited. The coffee was bitter, did not have sugar. I would not recommend going here if you are visiting Asheville. Go to double d coffee instead.
Nice service. Different taste of coffee. Decent, not great. Not worth the cost.
Good iced mocha latte. Bagel seemed off, maybe day old ones? Still pretty good. Cream cheese is extra $, but is a generous serving. Would return, and do recommend.
Coffee was meh... But the service was bad, and slow. Find somewhere else
Pretty overpriced, staff were fairly unfriendly.
I really thought I’d like this place because the reviews are so good, but sadly that was not the case. My friend’s latte was spilled over on the saucer, and expecting any kind of latte art was out of the question (see photo). It seemed so carelessly poured, but considering there was only one barista making drinks, we let that go. Strike two was when I received my Americano. I honestly have never had anyone mess that up, but it tasted like 3 burnt shots of espresso. I couldn’t drink it without asking for a cup of hot water to mix it in. Strike three was when my other friend received her iced pour over - watered down and equally disappointing. I’m not sure if it was because there was only one barista or if they went through improper training, but I’d like to revisit to see if it was just this one instance. I will say the space and ambiance was lovely, and the staff was helpful and friendly, which is why I’m giving it an extra star!
Sour coffee and barista. Haven’t found any freshly baked goods at 8:15am - pretty well into the morning.Waited 15 mins for only a shot of espresso, which I tossed away on the spot: way acidic for me, after I specifically requested a dark roast, non acidic coffee. If you don’t have the product a customer asks for, or don’t know your products - better say it and save our time and money.
My wife and I stopped in here over the weekend because of the good reviews. We both ordered iced chai lattes. Not terrible, but not great. Kinda watery and bland. Also, I was up-charged for light ice. That is something I’ve never seen before, and the guy taking our order probably should’ve mentioned it. When you’re spending almost 10 bucks on two mediocre drinks, the nickel-and-diming becomes extra annoying.
Extremely rude employee taking orders. Yelling about my mask that I was adjusting over my nose, he thought I was going to take it off? Bizarre. Then we had to wait outside and they forgot our order for literally 35 mins. After waiting patiently I entered and asked and all that was said was some things just get lost in translation?? no apologies. Extremely slow service and overpriced small coffee.
So disappointed. Upon entering we were greeted by a gentleman and then immediately asked if we had masks for our babies. He said because youre breathing the same air as them and then reluctantly took our order. The NC mandate does not require babies to wear masks and there were no signs stating their business does or that children were not allowed to enter. This annoyance aside, the coffee was extremely bitter it was almost sour. Literally go anywhere else as there are a handful of great coffee shops just down the road.
This might have been a five star but with COVID it is difficult to give five stars because you cant get a feeling of the atmosphere. The regular coffee my husband had was fine, nothing incredibly special, just small batch drip coffee. My iced mocha was good. The main reason Im giving it four stars is because they offer oat milk which can be hard to find. We also had a chocolate chip cookie work sea salt that was ok, not super sweet. I think if we had been able to sit inside and enjoy the atmosphere it would have upped the experience.
Espresso was over extracted extremely bitter and salty. Cortado was steamed way to long and espresso again was off.
Very good coffee. Very limited food menu. This is covid time so really not a place to hang out or sit.
