First time here to get an oil change and some car issues looked at — I chose this spot because I’ve had some bad experiences with other automotive places in the past, and my boyfriend loves this place and recommended it to me. Oscar was so awesome! First off, they send pictures of their inspection and Oscar took the time to explain on the phone what was going on with me car before giving me a quote. He was very friendly and helpful. Upon pickup of my car he greeted me by name and answered all of my questions and gave me great advice for car care. They left a nice little goodie bag in the car with some air freshener, hand sanitizer and other l&r merch. I’m relieved to have found a great automotive spot!

Having work done on you vehicle is always a serious matter.Having researched on line to see local shops in my area, I started following L&R Automotive reviews and I see an honest business doing the right work for the customers for the right price.I have taken one of my vehicles to them and am very pleased with the work that I had done. It was a lot of work, (I thought) but they were very swift and precise in their evaluation of what needed to be done to fix my vehicle. Then they fixed it very quickly.Dealing mainly with Oscar, it was a very good experience and I highly recommend L&R Automotive.I will not hesitate to take my vehicles to them for all future work.Thanks everyone at L&R Automotive for the great job you do.

We were planning to have them do repairs to our vehicle due to what we thought were good reviews. BEWARE. After we had the vehicle towed there we learned that we had to go elsewhere to be covered by our insurance. My wife immediately went there to have the car towed to another facility. This place was extremely rude to my wife and told her she either needed to let them work on it or have the car removed by Noon. Highly unacceptable business practice. I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR SERVICE.

Always hesitant to try a new auto shop, especially last minute, but I am VERY happy I found L&R auto before taking my car across country. They were EXTREMELY fair and honest, with quality service. I will be recommending them to everyone in the Arvada/Denver area. Especially to my fellow ladies (and men!) who have had bad auto experiences before with unfair pricing, this is a great place for you and to feel that you’re getting fair prices and service.

Had an overheating issue so I brought my car to L&R to diagnose and fix and the guys ended up finding my overheating issue but another issue that would have caused irreparable damage. Appreciate you guys and I will definitely be bring my car back to yous in the future. Great prices too.

L&R is the best. They are great mechanics and very honest. On several occasions I have received some questionable repair estimates from the dealer. When I took my cars to L&R, the actual repairs needed were a fraction of what the dealer wanted to do.

Everyone was very attentive. They diagnosed the issue with my truck, and gave me recommendations on several maintenance issues. I trusted their analysis, and they completed all repairs quickly. I will be using them for all my F150 service.

A tale of two auto shops. Yesterday I visited two shops. Tavos Auto Glass & L&R Automotive. From Tavos I paid $160 for a new windshield, including installation, which was about an hour labor. From L&R I paid $230 for them to tell me I needed a tune up and new front brakes (no actual repairs done). When I questioned an extra $70 charge for a false diagnosis of a noise, I was ridiculed and left feeling stupid. Which shop do you think Im going to use again and recommend to my friends?

Really up front about cost and did a great job

Oscar is amazing and so friendly on the phone so that’s the first thing, but he addressed all my issues with my Xterra for a reasonable price, made sure all my questions were answered. The work was done the same day and they even gave her a wash before handing my keys back. Absolutely recommend ans will return if needed in the future!!

Not every shop likes to work on classic cars, so I was relieved when L&R seemed excited to work on my 68 Chevelle Malibu. They diagnosed the problem quickly, found several other small things that they recommended I fixed, and gave me daily updates, even if that update was nothing new to report. Oscar explained the repairs in easy-to-understand terms and clearly laid out pricing for each repair. Ill be taking my car to them in the future.

I know that the whole industry is vastly overpriced but it cost me $160 to fix myself and they wanted over $1000 for two hours of work. I actually spent more on them just diagnosing the (already known) problem(s) than it did on me paying for the parts, it was a mistake taking my truck there. Nice people though.

I am very happy with L & R Automotive. I took my expedition in for the 100,000 mile service and a fueling problem. They were able to fix the fueling problem while the dealership just wanted to keep replacing parts. They were clean, efficient, and reasonably priced. I will definitely use them again.

Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating. I had an appointment at 9am, I had information telling me what the issue was and a quote to repair it by 10:00am. My vehicle was repaired and ready for pickup by 11:30am. Team was transparent regarding the issues with my vehicle, I never had the impression they were trying to make an extra buck.

My past experiences with auto repair mechanics have not been stellar as I used to feel cheated, and felt my wallet was being drained for unnecessary reasons. I did not have that experience with L & R Automotive. They do quality work at reasonable prices. I love the fact that they do an inspection on the car and provide the results to you in a link with pictures detailing the issues they have found with the car. There is no pressure to have something completed if it is something you just can not afford right now, and they will provide a detailed quote for the items that did not get completed so you can easily plan ahead for future repairs. I recently bought an older truck that definitely needed a little TLC, but I could not have all of the work completed at the time of service. For everything that was not completed they helped me prioritize the work so I now have a plan of attack of what to tackle next. I highly recommend L & R Automotive, and they have definitely made a loyal customer out of me!!!!

I have been going to L and R since it was under previous ownership. Since Mike took over, the service level has only gotten better. Friendly knowledgeable staff. I made an appointment to bring my vehicle in, they inspected and diagnosed it the same day. I received a phone call telling me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle and exactly how much it would cost to fix. In previous dealings with mechanics it always seemed to be hard to get an exact price before starting the work which typically leads to extra charges. Definitely a refreshing experience. I agreed to the price and the work was completed the next day. When I picked my vehicle up they handed me a print out of factory issued recalls that I had no idea existed. They informed me of the details on the recalls and Im grateful because one of them can lead to engine fires. Cant ask for better service than I received. Definitely recommend these guys!PS they also run a toy drive that gives presents to kids for a local church and offer a $25 discount on your bill if you donate. There must have been 50+ toys under the tree. Awesome to see a company giving back to the community!

Took my F150 in for Rotor replacement for both Front and Rear. L&R did a terrific job of replacing the rotors and adding new brake pads. The truck is operating perfectly, breaking is smooth with no vibration at all. Thanks L&R!

Recently did a lift install on my own Jeep. Wanted a professional to check my work, do an alignment and re-run my brake lines. They were able to get me in quickly for my brakes. I called the afternoon before, and they were able to get me in the next day. They were professional and checked my car out for any possible safety issues, even though I had just come in for my brakes. They also explained the work completed in detail to me. We moved to the area a couple of months ago and found L&R based on the reviews. I had several issues with a Prius which they were able to fix at a reasonable price compared to any dealer. At the same time they offered me a ride home rather than wait and to bring back the car to install a part I had to purchase elsewhere at no charge. I bought the part elsewhere for the sake of time. Since they did such and outstanding job, including being extremely friendly and accommodating, I brought in my Lexus for service as well. All good at L&R and I would highly recommend them for auto service.

Went to L&R Automotive for an estimate on a transmission repair for my 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca. Had noticed a small leak and had the transmission appear to slip at one point while driving.Was impressed with how clean and orderly the business was, and with the friendliness of the employees. The estimate was accomplished far more quickly than expected, and was very competitive. Will probably have my cars issue taken care of by L&R.

Called to get a quote on engine replacement. Business must be great because they didnt seem to need mine. The guy told me to call back later because he didnt want to talk about it now. I can understand he might have a store full of customers so I asked when is a good time to call. He said just call me later. So I can sit around and guess when he might be willing or able to talk to me, or I can call other shops. Guess I will call the other shops.

A few months back I went to them about air intake problem after they had helped me just a few weeks prior on a clutch issue. they insisted on still performing the full diagnostic test for $100 dollars, and when I asked him if that would go towards labor on possible repairs as another mechanic suggested was the right thing to do or simply use waive because I just had one done a fews weeks prior, he essentially said i could take my business elsewhere.

Good service. They were fast and came in under the estimated cost. I will definitely be back and would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic Service! From past experience I knew L&R would get me in on time. They were as prompt as usual. It was only for an oil and filter change as well as Subaru recommended brake fluid change. Their complimentary inspection picked up a problem with corrosion of the battery terminals. My biggest praise comes from their communication with me, never trying to up-sell, just inform. They even adjusted my service interval reminders based on past needs. Great team. (The above is not Fake News!)

I was leaving on a road trip last Thanksgiving and realized my brake light was out. Not wanting to get a ticket I tried to get it fixed the day I was leaving. I got the bulb at the auto parts store and tried a couple of auto repair shops to get it installed. No one had time. I stopped in at L and R and explained my circumstance. They said they could install it immediately. I returned in an hour and it was done, it was done right and they did not charge me a penny! They just said Happy Thanksgiving! Great service and great people. I highly recommend this auto repair shop!!

I called the shop to get a quote on a timing belt replacement four months ago and they quoted me $400. Timing belt recently went out this week and I had it towed to L&R on a weekend. I wanted to verify the verbal quote of $400 but they were closed on Saturday. I had it towed to L&R on Saturday and called back on Monday. The guy I spoke to initially quoted me $500 and when I informed him that I had the vehicle towed there, he raised it $1000. I informed him I would go somewhere else. I later got a call from Mike the owner who was quite rude and threatening to add a storage fee to the vehicle if it wasnt out today. Not the the customer service I was expecting at all given they glorify themselves as honest and friendly service on their website.

L & R had great reviews and was the closest mechanic to my house that listed electrical services. I had already taken my car to an auto parts store to run diagnostics, check the battery and alternator. Got lots of funky codes and was told to see an electrical mechanic. I dropped my car off after hours and asked them to call me before they started work so I could explain what I had already done and what I wanted checked. Instead, they called me at 4:45pm (15 min before closing) to say they ran diagnostics, checked battery and alternator and got funky codes and that I owe them $60 for “diagnosing” and it would be $110/hr to continue to diagnose. I told him to stop working on it. That was the first time I had even spoken to the mechanic, Mike. When I explained they hadn’t done anything I hadn’t already done, he got argumentative and said state law is they get to spend $100 worth of work on any car that gets dropped off. This was not listed on the website and they did not call me before beginning work or diagnostics, even though I had asked for a call first to discuss.Turns out the ground wire was mounted to rust, after moving it to a new part of the frame car work great.

Wouldnt go anywhere else! Should be called Pragmatic Automotive. Nothing you dont need, everything/only what you do. Id trust this place to watch the kids. Might check the hourly rate first though.

They tried removing the cover on my battery and broke the plastic lock. They also did not install my oil filter properly it was loose and dropped oil on my garage floor i was able to hand tighten it by hand several times around thats how loose it was.

The new owner Mike did a great job working on our Ford Focus. My daughter had been driving the car and it needed 4 things repaired. Mike gave me a few options so I could get the three primary repairs done while also keeping it within my budget.

When I asked for an oil change only and no other work was to be done on my car and they did more than I wanted them to do, was not happy with there service and will not go back not very friendly and charged more than I asked for just a oil change only not a inspection of the whole engine. When I go home the air cover for the air filter was looked into and they broke the pipes that went to the heater coil so I was loosing all my water coolant I had to fix that my self just so I could run my car again. Sure miss the old owner before you came along Mike.

Mike and L&R Automotive so far are absolutely Awesome.Just knowing Mike is a man of faith I know my truck is in good hands..I will update this review after the repairs are finished.

5/14/19I have a custom one of a kind 1990 chevy truck. I do most of my own work and am very particular about anyone else doing any kind of work on my truck. After reading the reviews and visiting the shop and speaking with Dave, I made an appointment and I dropped my 1990 Chevy truck in for some front end work and some AC work.I did not have a ride home and they offered to drive me and even pick me up if I needed them to. Dave and his staff were both very friendly, professional, and knowledgable! They took the time to explain what they found, what my options were, and as Im a shade tree mechanic and do most of my own work, even gave me suggestions for me doing the repairs myself if I wanted to.I felt confident and comfortable having them do all the work and I was not disappointed! They did a GREAT JOB! On time, and within the estimate given. And a few days later they even called to be sure I was satisfied with the work they had performed! After seeing relatively good reviews on this shop I decided to give them a shot. I had a spark plug blow out of my head on a ford explorer (common issue) got a quote form them which seemed reasonable for parts a labor. I dropped the car off, they called me with an update on the car before performing the work. So far, so good. The work was done on-time, although my battery died while at the shop (it was an old battery with corroded terminals), they quoted me around $300 to have a battery installed, which was high and also work that I could easily do myself so I declined. They also wanted to tighten all of my spark plugs for an additional $192, which I declined because I easily can do that myself as well. Picked up the car, bought a new battery and installed new terminal connectors. Tried to drive the car to work the next morning and it immediately went into Limp Mode with the Orange Wrench light on the dash. Had to call out of work since my commute is all freeway and couldnt drive limp mode at high speeds. Had my codes all checked at AutoZone and got multiple codes showing errors in the MAF sensor and O2 sensors. None of these things were an issue before dropping the car off at the shop. Called the shop to see if they would take another look at the car since they would have needed to take off the MAF sensor and intake to put the insert into cylinder number 1. On the phone call, I heard someone in the background yelling asking what I had done since picking up the car. I told them that I had only changed my battery and hadnt touched anything else. They told me that it was likely my fault that there was something else happening to the car. I took it in, they offered to run a code scanner for free, but I brought them the print out I had already gotten early from AutoZone. They opened the hood and ONLY visually looked over the engine, saying nothing was wrong with it and that there was NO WAY they were at fault. They then continued to blame me for anything that had happened since I picked up the car about 12 hours ago and parked it overnight in my driveway. They then told me that they would run an onboard diagnostic, but it would cost me another $120 after already dropping over $500 at the shop. I left feeling extremely disappointed with their customer service, especially since they blame me for all the issues with my car after picking it up from this shop. Moral of the story is that their work was average, but their customer service is terrible and I will NEVER come back and will NEVER recommend anyone to go to this shop.RE: In response to the Owners statement, they DID NOT check every spark plug, since that would have cost me $192 and I declined. They checked one spark plug and told me that one was loose. When I went home and checked the plugs myself I found only 2 others that were loose. The MULTIPLE other issues were a battery and supposedly incorrect spark plugs. I replaced the battery just fine myself and the spark plugs were not MOTORCRAFT, but that does not mean they were the wrong plugs. Fords do not ONLY take Motorcraft parts, lets be honest, they are not that high of a tolerance vehicle. Those were the MULTIPLE issues they found, just two, one of which is NOT an issue. Needless to say, the Owners response is not sufficient for me to come back and lacks validity and does not render them blameless.

Honest shop - went to get headlights replaced and to fix an oil leak. I thought it was the oil pan on my Tahoe. They told me it was just the oil filter gasket dripping and to get an oil change. Wow. Theyre very honest and I will def. use again.

The mechanics are competent, polite, and prompt, and there is an actual office with a person (David) whose job is to schedule appointments, answer questions, describe options, and estimate costs. I give em an A.

Ive got to say, I havent experienced a level of bad customer service like this in quite a while... I mean, I am actually offended to the point where I have to leave a review online, which is literally a first.I called in to L&R Automotive this afternoon to get a quote on an oil change, which should be a pretty simple and quick call. I was asked by the employee on the phone what kind of car I had, which I told him it was a Saab... He then proceeds to tell me abruptly, we dont work on European vehicles, ya stupid ass, after which he hangs up on me. Im still fuming with the utter rudeness of this situation.Based on this experience alone - even if I had a domestic vehicle - I would absolutely avoid giving this shop any business.

Im not sure who monitors these reviews, I wrote on Friday and its gone now. Anyway, two out of two trys with these guys the problem was fixed for less than 2 days. First situation the problem was back in less than an hour of getting the car back. Second, the leak came back just a day after getting the car back.Were taking the car in right now to see if they will fix it for free since we already paid them to fix the problem. Well see how it turns out.

Having a hard time finding someone to work on my truck, Called here to see about having him evaluate front end issues as he says he is a ford specialist. When I said anything about what someone else had said about problems with my truck, and said I wanted him to evaluate it because he was a specialist, he became argumentative about the whole conversation, repeating what exactly am I supposed to do... Implying everyone else has already worked on it...When I first moved to Arvada I needed work done on it then.....he was the first place I stopped, he was on vacation for a week and closed.BAD ATTITUDE....!!!

In the past I have been impressed by L & R service, which is why I afforded them a second star. I came in to have my ECM (car computer checked) because my check engine light was on and I had concerns about my radiator fan running improperly. I didnt go back to the dealer I bought the car from because of terrible past experience with dealership service people.I was charged nearly $200.00 by L & R for the diagnostics on the ECM only to be told that I would have to take the car back to the dealer to have them replace/reprogram it. I contacted the dealer only to find out that replacing my ECM would cost over $400.00. So I basically paid L & R for almost nothing when I could have had the problem already halfway fixed.
