I brought my 2015 Chevy Traverse in to get the transmission checked in June 2019 before I took my daughters on a drive from Denver to Florida and back. The transmission was shifting weird a week before we were suppose to leave. I had been planning this trip for 2 years. Sean told me it needed to be rebuilt because the Torq Converter was slipping. I only had 6 days till we were suppose to be on the road. I had already paid for everything. I thought my trip was going to be ruined but Sean said dont worry we will have you fixed up and ready to go. He put a rush on getting it fixed and I picked up my car the morning we were suppose to leave. He told me to drive it like it was new. My trip went great. Im so grateful that I called Budget Transmission to check out my car. I would refer them to anyone. Sean and team are amazing

The prices are good and, in my opinion, the people are honest, so that’s what counts. The waiting area SUCKS especially the music, and although I know the man just wanted to make sure I understood my transmission is going out and will not last much longer, he KEPT leaning across the counter telling me this over and over again. Until I wanted to scream, “ALRIGHT . . . I GET IT ALREADY!!!!!!!”You guys need to grasp the notion that sometimes a customer has no money and just plain can’t afford to do it right now!

Very happy with my experience at Budget. They kept in contact with me through the whole process, and clearly explained each step along the way. There was no sales pressure, no hidden fees or shenanigans. My transmission repair came with a two year warranty, so I can now rest easy at night. I got my Jeep back much faster than I expected to, and its been driving great. Budget was recommended to me by a Pep Boys service center, where my check engine light was originally diagnosed. Im very grateful they directed me to Shawn(sp?) and Id happily offer my own recommendation from now on.I think its worth noting the negative reviews are from years ago. I had no problems with the staff, and I was given a very detailed, itemized invoice that clearly explained all charges.

I took my van there last August to have them fix the transmission and I have to take it back there again for the 3rd time in less than a year. The only reason. I am going back to them is that I have a warranty and they have to fix it for free but I would not recommend this place as they apparently have no idea how to fix a transmission even though its part of their name

Budget Transmission did an awesome job fixing my transmission! I have driven over 500 miles without any problems. They were caring and worked with me and even had me come back after 500 miles to make sure everything was working right.Update: A year and a half later my transmission is still doing great. I havent had any problems.

Highly recommended!! Had called about my 2003 terminator cobra leaking from the rear pinion seal. Brought it in on a day off and was out of there no more than 45 mins! Very satisfied!

Even though my car was there for almost a month they were very true on their words and promised me not to go over a certain budget. The manager Sean is very nice and easy to work with and updated me almost daily with the progress. They paid for my rental car entire time. My car now has a new transmission and is working great!

Definitely a good group of guys here. Owner Larry’s transmission knowledge is amazing and a hidden gem of a find when you’re in need of tranny help. They do general auto repair too but are experts in anything transmission, clutch, differential, gear, 4-wheel, etc. related. Reasonable prices, honest and knowledgeable... check, check and check. Basically one stop for everything, so glad to have them close by.

I strongly recommend Budget Transmission and will not hesitate to return the next time I need car repairs done.We were having serious issues with our high mileage SUV. It kept shutting off while on the road, and various warning lights were coming on. Another transmission shop told us that our car needed a new transmission, to the tune of about $4000. We took the vehicle to Budget Transmission for a 2nd opinion, and they diagnosed a bad MAP sensor, which would cost about $350 to take care of. Naturally, that seemed like a good option, so we gave it a try. Success! I will say that we still had some trouble and went back - turns out the part was faulty, which is not the shops fault but the manufacturer. They spent the day with the vehicle again and replaced the part at no additional cost. The vehicle works wonderfully - no shutoffs, no sensor or warning lights. In fact, because things work properly now, even the gas mileage has gone up!

A business full of SCAMMERS. Budget Transmissions gives extremely overpriced estimates in hopes that you give up on your great car and cheaply give it to them. We took are car here to get the transmission fixed and the owner Sean kept telling us we had to get numerous parts fixed before we could leave with OUR vehicle. The price was over $5000 to get the car fixed. We decided to tow the car elsewhere and Sean ran out the building saying he would buy our junk car, that he claimed was not worth anything previously. No one ever works at this shop, stay far away.

Dont, Just dont, go somewhere else. I wonder If the owner wrote the other review. They were very friendly, but the work was at top dollar prices, and no itemizing of parts changed or work done. They said they would charge more if they itemized. Nearly 2 years ago my 1979 Ford Explorer was diagnosed as needing a transmission rebuild. They charged me just under $2000. The SUV worked great for two days and then I got stuck, the linkage cable came off in a gas station they came out and fixed it. A week latter I heard a grinding noise and I got stuck at a light. that cost me $125 to tow it back to them. When I got it back It would downshift after second gear and slow down for a 10 seconds before it would up-shift again only if you took your foot off the gas. if you kept your foot on the gas the tachometer screamed real high. Budget said it just needed to be broken in, that it was normal. 2 years later it is the same and they said Well, its an old car you need to treat it with care. My MPG has dropped to a low 4-5 miles per gallon city stop and go driving due to shifting issues, This costs money I dont have Never go there.

I was impressed with the professionalism and honestly of Sean. After his evaluation I decided to head in another direction. Will definitely use him and Budget Transmission for my work in the future.

Took my 2012 Jeep Liberty in because I got a Transmission Fluid Temperature Warning light while driving up the mountains. Learned that my Transmission was overheating and not running correctly and needed to be rebuilt. The manager showed me the burned transmission fluid compared to how it should look and even took me in the back to show me exactly how it worked and what was happening inside the car. He showed me a taken apart transmission and the clutch plates & sponges and explained what happens with each of those things when youre driving. (My little sponge shock things were gone and my clutch plates had actually fused together) He was incredibly reasonable and explained things in a way that was not only easy to understand but that didnt feel patronizing, he had purely good intentions to make me feel comfortable with my decision to rebuild. The price was reasonable and the service was fast and exceptional. Would definitely recommend. Thanks you guys! Since then (its been about 3 months) the car has run AWESOME and Ive had 0 issues.

April 2015: This shop was highly recommended from my mechanic who told me that I was to get a Master Rebuild Kit from a Master Technician; dropped it off February 20th for a rebuild transmission; picked it up on the 25th; I received no paperwork from Larrys Budget Transmission, no list of what he had done, no call, nothing; the day after I picked it up, the transmission sifts hard into first gear in less than 5 miles driven; took it back to the mechanic; the unit needed a quart of transmission fluid; drove it a week and experienced the same shifting pattern intermittently; took it back to mechanic who took it back to Larry at Budget Transmission; got it back and the problem remains but it is more subtle; I was told a spring was sticking; ; Ive been advised since that the symptom sounds like a bad pressure control solenoid; called Larry at Budget who told me that my car was running poorly - no other advice, no other suggestion why that would affect the shifting of the transmission; he didnt say much at all; to look at the car again but would not pay for a rental; no humility, no integrity, just took $ 2,200.00 and the problem is that my car is running poorly; my same mechanic who took it to him keeps the car tuned properly; I think if youre looking for a rebuilt transmission with this guy you take a chance with a big expense. All around I have no faith in this guy to do anything but waste ore of my time and extra-transportation costs; may take him to court.September 2015: The car has been with a delayed shift since I last wrote in April of this year, delayed from a dead stop into first. This happens 1-3x a day an is worse when it is hot outside. Since Larry stated that my car was running poorly, I have ahd a lot of engine work done to it since April. Just this passed Friday I had the catalytic converter replaced. After, when I accelerated to first gear from a dead stop, I heard what to me whas exhaust noise and a rattle. Tim at House of Mufflers stated that the problem is not any other componenet of the exhaust, but the transmission. He stated that the noises are the transmission holding up and then shifting delayed, into first gear. I took it back to my mechanic to take to the tranny guy on 9/10/2015.
