DO NOT GO HERE! I recently have gone through what has been the worst service experience I have ever been a part of. PLEASE take your vehicle somewhere else. After 5 weeks of poor quality work, lack of communication, and many headaches, I just picked up my car which still isnt fixed properly!On July 2nd 2021, the transmission of my ‘05 chevy express van starting slipping. I contacted an Aamco, thinking it is a reputable transmission repair place and got in contact with Russ Marr, the franchisee located at 6437 Miller St, Arvada, CO 80004. I explained to him the situation and he told me if I drop the van off Saturday July 3rd, he can fix the van by July 8th, 2021. He quoted me $2800-$3400 and needed a $1700 deposit. When I came to pick up the van on Friday July 9th, 2021, he charged me an additional $1866.55 for a total of $3566.55, well above the original quote. Understanding the hard work he convinced me he put into it, I had no problem paying extra, though I didn’t have much of a choice. Upon driving the car off the lot, I discovered the transmission was not even close to working properly. The car would rev to the red line before shifting into second and the car would struggle to shift into third afterwards. Fourth gear and onward worked sufficiently but the van was in equal or worse condition than when I had dropped it off. I immediately returned to Russ’s Aamco shop and explained the problem. Then began the 4 week game of guess and check. Russ said they now “know” the problem and it will be fixed Friday night. My fiancé and I waited around only to find out it won’t be fixed. Russ did not call us but I had to contact him nearly every time to get an update. The completion time quickly extended into Saturday morning and then when they realized their apparent fix did not solve anything, it turned into a Saturday (7/10) evening completion time. Then Russ proceeded to let the van sit for 2-3 weeks before trying to fix it again. After no communication for weeks, I reached out again to which he would say “we just put the van on the lift” or “the part is ordered and arriving in an hour”. This continued for another 1-2 weeks. Russ told me on 3 separate occasions that the van will be ready tomorrow, to which I had to coordinate a ride to get up to his shop, just to call him again and find out it is not ready. Eventually, about 5 weeks after leaving my van with Russ, I picked it up and just wanted to be done with this whole mess. I drive around only to find, the transmission is nearly in the same improper condition it was originally delivered to me in. The van won’t shift into second gear correctly. I immediately return to Russ’s Aamco shop only to find out he personally never even took it out for a drive to see if it was suitable. I explained that the condition of the van was unacceptable and his response was that if the check engine light is not on then it is fine. I called Russ continually throughout the week to make things right and he kept telling me that I need to put more miles on it and then it will fix itself. This is absolutely unacceptable service on so many levels. Russ had every excuse in the book from “not being a magician” to labor shortages and “how could I [Russ] know it would take so long to order parts”. I told him that he needs to give me a partial refund to make things right to which he said “I’ll look into it”. It has been weeks since Russ was “looking into it” and I have no more time or energy to sink into trying to reason with him.I am posting this as a warning to any potential customers to just simply take your car elsewhere! Maybe my car was an edge case and he usually gets it right? Im not sure. But what I do know is that the failure of communication, inadequate work and undelivered promises I experienced are not worth the risk of repeating. There are plenty of other great transmission shops out there so PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

They have a great Attitude and do try to please. on the latest work on. Ford Focus they had many issues that made this a nightmare for them and us. They tried hard to honor the quote they gave me. I will give them credit on those efforts. Over all cost for work went up $600and it took them an extra week to complete the work. Last, after the work my son found a wrong size bolt they used when they did complete the mounting of the transmission.

We’ve been going here for a couple years and love everyone who works there ! They do a very good job for a great price ! We love Russ and Jayden they helped us out a lot. The best car place we’ve ever been to. They also get your car in quick ! Everyone needs to go here !

Mike is a friendly and knowledgeable manager. I was able to leave my truck at the shop using the key drop box with no issues. I was also able to make payments on my transmission bill with no extra fees. My trucks transmission is perfectly rebuilt with not leaks or issues. Made an appointment online and got a confirmation email, then when I got to the shop he said he didnt have time today because his computer system didnt notify him to the appointment.

On Tuesday they said they had plenty of time to work on my vehicle and quoted me $300. Wednesday at 4:55pm I called for an update. Jayden said it was the next vehicle they would be working on. He also said they would call me the following morning. They never called. Thursday at 4:00pm I call for yet another update and they say they haven’t looked at it yet and it’s going to be $602. Jayden promised he would call me back at 5:30pm and of course never called. It’s now Saturday morning, no vehicle, and no update. They have had my vehicle for 5 days to do a 2.5 hour job and it’s going to be double what they estimated.

Mike and crew member, Mike, did a quick fix on our older model Chevrolet. We had limped off I-25 and into their shop because it was the first place available. Within minutes, they looked under the hood, listened to the description of the problem, and did a short test drive. The Mass Air Flow sensor was ordered, arrived very quickly and was replaced. Another test drive was completed to assure the work fixed the problem. The staff were friendly and professional. Their location, a coincidence, turned into a total repair experience we would wish for everyone. We highly recommend this AAMACO location for your vehicle repairs.

Several months ago I bought a 1986 Jeep Comanche pickup truck. It had multiple leaks, transmission issues and 4 wheel drive problems. I got 5 different estimates for the work and chose AAMCO to do the work. First I got the leaks and the transmission work done. About a month later I got the 4 wheel drive issues taken care of.I have to say that both times the work was done quickly by friendly people who know what they were doing. The biggest surprise was both times the final bill was lower than the original estimate. I still have other things to fix on the truck and I will defiantly get them done at AAMCO. The most unprofessional owner who kept my vehicle for two weeks.

Called to ask about a fresh rebuild for my truck, not that it “needs” it but because I can afford it and I’ve had this truck since high school and I’m restoring it. Got a confused “tech” who said “i nEeD tO dIaGnOse iT”. What part of I JUST WANT IT REBUILT AND GONE THROUGH COMPLETELY is so difficult to understand? And you just lost a customer and roughly $2,500 for a fairly simplistic job.Bravo

Horrible customer service! Russ (the owner) hides from customers, won’t respond to calls. Front desk guy will just bs you. Don’t let them touch you vehicle! Absolutely hack work! Don did mine, he said it was done and it wouldn’t downshift and linkage was way off! Then come to find out trans leaks, bolts left out and lots of loose bolts not tightened properly. The whole job/everything he touched needs to be checked! Hey Don, find something else to do!

Best Customer Service TeamWilliam was such a great help. He made sure I was comfortable when I was stressing out about my car. And then reassured me that everything was going to be fine. Him and Trent found the problem within 10min. Then they went beyond what they needed to do and help me get a ride home instead of having to order for a Lyft or Uber.

I have to say I was expecting things to go much differently than they did due to recent experiences but couldnt be happier that I was wrong. Was recommended by a friend to Russ and team at this Aamco location and am truly grateful for their hard work, beyond fair pricing and honesty. I wouldnt even consider taking a vehicle anywhere else. Horrible! Had car there for about 6 months and had to call almost every other day to get the update! Was quoted $1500 and ended up paying $2600, on account that the original quoter got laid off or didnt work there anymore! The car still has major problems that I thought they would fix, seeing as they had it for 6 months! Definitely would never ever go back here! Insane how we have to check on our vehicle when theyre supposed to be the professionals!

They havent fixed my transmission i had it back for 2 days after they had it for 2 mouths i am very upset so i wouldnt go there again and i have to wait tell monday to take it back

I had my accident September 2nd. I picked up my car 2 weeks ago they never put on my hub caps or do the alignment that my insurance paid them 64.00 dollars plus 204.00 fir hub caps. They made my appointment Oct the 13th. At 10:30. I drove 45 minutes to get there for them to tell me one of his workers called in sick. The other one was busy. How long does it take to put on 2 hub caps. Plus Jasons auto across the driveway was going to do the the aligement. All he would say was im so sorry. I would never recoment Amaco to anyone one.

Honest guys! Took my car here with a diagnostic printout I got from a much more expensive repair shop. there were some secondary problems the guys here at AAMCO fixed, and they thought that had solved it. When it still didnt work after three or four weeks, they were gracious and patient enough to what the diagnostic said was the problem, and only charged parts. Now runs again!

BEWARE!!!! Brought my grandmother’s car in because the transmission slipped a couple times. We where told the transmission is shot and it’s going to be 3000.00 to fix. We decided to have another company look at it being there was only 55,000 on the car. They could find nothing wrong with it and said the transmission was still just fine. It has never done it since. I would look elsewhere for service.

I have used this shop a couple times now for different car problems. These guys have earned my respect. I will gladly refer them to anyone looking for a great mechanic shop. Their pricing is great. I called the dealership where I bought my truck and they wanted $280 for what this shop charged $180. They are courteous and professional from the minute you walk through the door. Could not ask for a better shop in your life from the owner to the service manager to the service text I was traveling I blew a clutch on my truck approximately 500 miles away from their shop but I had to get to Denver from Phoenix I limp my truck to them I told him over the phone what I needed I am a retired mechanic if he can have my parts there the next morning I would drop it off I got there the next morning everything was taken care of the owner give me a ride back to my motel 6 hours later the owner come and pick me back up take me back to get my truck could not ask for a better experience the staff is excellent highly recommend this Aamco to anybody for service excellent people

I was so pleased with the service I received after taking my 4runner in for transmission problems. They were very professional and did not try to up-sell me on anything. They located the problem which turned out to be my solenoid and wiring harness and after doing some pretty extensive work, the price was significantly lower than I anticipated! My husband and I have been going through several stressful situations recently. Last week, the outside door handle broke on our 1998 Toyota Camry. Then the inside handle broke. My husband took the panel off and the mechanisms inside were falling apart. Needless to say, we knew it was going to be expensive and we had no extra money. My daughter has done business with Russ at Total Car Care for quite a while and she told him about our situation. She is on disability and he has always been wonderful to her.He told us to bring it in and after checking the whole system, he realized everything needed to be replaced and it had to come from the dealer.The total was over $400. We did what we always do. We prayed, an told him to go ahead and fix it. Russ talked to his wife and when it was all done, he only charged us for the price of the parts. In a world where you always hear horror stories about mechanics, were here to tell you that Russ goes above and beyond to help his customers. Our bill was only $220. Needless to say, we cried. It wasnt easy to come up with the money, but we had help from family.Russ did an excellent job quickly and kept us in the loop the whole time.He deserves a medal! We shall ever be grateful to God for bringing such a giving and capable man into our life. Thank you so much for being there when we needed a friend and a good mechanic! I started going to Aamco in the back seat of my moms minivan as a little kid and that was where I started taking my first car just about 12 years ago now. From my very first car to my third now, Ive never even thought about going somewhere else. Russ and his team always go above and beyond to help their customers and for as long as I live in Colorado this is where I will take my car. Its nice having someone that you can trust. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

Finally I found a repair shop that cares about the people as much as the cars! I drove from another repair shop who could not diagnose my transmission leak. These guys not only found it but also didid a complete check of all other areas that were leaking. They got me back on the road in record time and gave me a good deal to boot!

If you love really bad customer service and like to wait 3 weeks to get your car fixed that really should have been a couple days at best to fix then this is the place you want to go they will not disappoint you! During this 3 week period we called them several times to check upon the status of the vehicle and they always seemed too busy to talk at the time and said they would call you back but they never would. The vehicle finally got fixed but one thing I know they have lost a customer and if they don’t improve their customer service I’m sure they will lose more than just me!

Professional, fast, and courteous service sums up my experience with Russ and Jaylin. I took my truck in for a transmission issue Thursday just before they closed had a diagnosis by Friday afternoon, they started to rebuild it Monday and got it back yesterday. Top Knotch, Best of the Best when it comes to transmission repair. We have been cheated by to many Transmission shops, until we found Russ 10 years ago. We do snow removal in the winter and without Russ our fleet would be in trouble, as his transmissions are built for our snow business!!!!

I have a manual transmission. I took my car in because I could not get into first gear about every 4 time. If I double clutched I was able to get into first gear.I was told The Clutch kit would cost $675 That is $14 over the list price for the clutch kit with a flywheel. These parts can be obtained at a parts store a retail price of $389.99. A number of auto repair companies charge the list price for their parts. This is not uncommon.The Labor would be 9.5 hours. That was 3 hours over another well trusted national auto repair company.I asked him to give me a written estimate. He instead repeated his verbal estimate. My impression is that he preferred verbal estimates over a written estimates.

After taking my car to the dealership for a simple oil change, they came back with a list of other items that they said needed fixing. I took the car to the Aamco shop in Arvada (after referral) and they indicated these items were not necessary. I have been taking my cars there ever since and trust Russ and his team to fix it in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. They have demonstrated professionalism every time I have used them to service my cars.

At least you can trust these people. Specifically when you need a transmission. They have done at least 10 transmission for me over the years and they will always be my transmission shop. Too many crooks in the Transmission world, nice to find honest people with above quality work!!!! They also can fix most everything else

Recently had my SUV evaluated at the AAMCO in Arvada -- Not only were they professional, they (Russ) evaluated my car and determined that the situation with my Transmission was not as dire as another shop portrayed -- and that I could continue to safely operate it without a major re-build or overhaul. Very rare (in my experience) that a shop will tell you this.Was impressed enough that I referred a family member (that did need work) and they were happy with the experience as well.Cannot comment on the 2-4 year old one-star ratings by anonymous users below, but was clearly NOT my experience. I would recommend.

This is the third Aamco I have been to in the last 5 years and by far the best! Russ and Jalen are super helpful and patient and they call with updates when they say they are going to. We are very satisfied with the work by AAMCO. They rebuilt the transmission on our 1995 Nissan Pathfinder and the throttle body on our 1988 Nissan Pathfinder.

I got hurt on there property they said its not there problem and said I shouldnt have been barefoot when I wasnt clearly I was wearing shoes .I was rushed to the hospital they obviously dont care about there customers and only money I will never go there again 😡😠

Took in my car to get a transmission flush. I would have been able to do it my self, however they were able to do the work for less then what I would have paid to do it my self. they also checked other issues I was worried about at no charge. loved that they didnt try to upsell or off over priced services. they were also cheapest price of any aamco I called. I am very pleased with the service I got from this Arvada franchise. Like anyone, I was nervous about needing what I expected would be a big transmission job on my work truck. Down time for a work vehicle can be expensive and that does not even include the cost of the repairs themselves. I chose this place because it was near. The manager was extremely friendly, honest and cheerful, and the repairs were done in a timely manner, getting my truck back to me very quickly at what was a very reasonable cost. Took my car to the location on 64th and Miller to get my car looked at. Told them what the problem was and they fixed it when i picked my car up again not only was the problem not fixed but seemed to be worse! The guy said they may have knocked something loose during repairs and thus had to take it back a second time. Oh and they didnt put my dipstick back in after the first time. Needless to say I will NOT be returning to this location ever again! Poor quailty in repair and had to make an unnecessary second trip to get the problem fixed.

You cannot ask for a better team than those at AAMCO on Miller Street in Arvada. They certainly are experts with transmissions but they can do so much more. In addition to replacing my transmission, they helped me with CV axle issues, cabin air filter change, oil change and tire rotation. They kept me apprised every step of the way with each project and did not take advantage of me because I am female. They will always be my first call with any car problems. My mom and I were passing through Denver on the way to my new home in California. We had engine trouble and decided to see the guys at Arvadas AAMCO. They were very friendly and were quick to work. Even though the problem was pretty serious, they were able to fix it quickly and efficiently and got us back on the road within a few days!

I am so glad I was referred to the Arvada AAMCO for the servicing of our cars when we moved to Arvada. The charges are much less than the dealership I was patronizing before and the individual attention is much greater. The service is excellent and the depth of knowledge is outstanding. I have not encountered any problem with my 13 year old vehicle that Russ has not been able to quickly assess and fix. His ongoing advice has been extremely valuable.

I recently bought a used car an auction for the daughter knowing it came with some needed repairs. I had Russ and his team look at it. They shared there was a FORD factory recall on the TCM and suggested I start there rather than pay his team. This is reflective of the professionalism Russ has. Once that was resolved at no cost to me Aamco rebuilt the clutch to clear an error code that lined up with a service bulletin surrounding an oil seal leak impacting the clutch performance. Following that there was a one last problem with the programming of the TCM and PCM. It took some time but Russs team was able to decipher the service bulletin and complete the adaptive programming on both modules. Since this was all related to the clutch rebuild Russ refused to let me pay him for the extra labor. Again, this is reflective of the professionalism he shares with his customers. I have been taking all three of my vehicles to Russ for several years and this is the same level of professionalism he has provided each time. From simply changing the oil, to rebuilding a transmission in my other vehicle, changing spark plugs, to dealing with multiple issues on my auction vehicle Russ and his team works hard at ensuring the work is done correctly and that you will come back when the vehicle requires servicing down the road. Trust is something we all look for when having our vehicles serviced. Russ has earned mine.

A day before my sons 16th birthday, the transmission goes out! Renee, Russ and the guys totally bailed us out and got the vehicle fixed before it was time to give him his present. GO HERE!!! If you want honest, trustworthy timely people for your vehicle needs this is the place to go!! I took my vehicle into another shop for shifting issues such as jumping back and forth between gears and sticking then punching into gear with great force to the point of rattling my whole vehicle and making a loud banging sound. They told me that after taking it for a drive and running a scan on it they did not hear or see or feel anything wrong with it. I was told that since it does not do it all the time and there are no codes being displayed or warnings on my dash not to worry about it...they also told me that my transmission fluid was over full and that this is most likely what is causing the issue. So after $80 later to have them check it and drain some fluid I was told to come pick it up. 5 minutes into the drive and BANG....literally! The problem was still there. Brought it into AAMCO they were immediately able to determine and fix the problem at very minimal cost to me as well as discovering that it was indeed putting out a code to let us know there was something wrong. Turns out I had a bad speed sensor that was throwing off my transmission being able to shift properly. They ordered in the part fixed it and called me in to pick it up. Russ was very helpful and informative and got things fixed and had me on my way in no time! I couldnt be more satisfied with my experience and will be referring everyone I know here. Im moving to the Northglenn/Thornton area in August but will be making the extra time and trip to come here for all my future needs. Two thumbs up and 5 stars!! Thank you guys so much for the wonderful experience and service you provided! No scamming, upselling, pressure or messing around. They looked at and fixed exactly what I brought it in for and didnt try to throw in random additional things. Keep up the great work guys!!!

AAMCO was EXCELLENT! We went to AAMCO to rent a Budget Rental Truck! After renting the truck, it turns out the car did not fit on the trailor. AAMCO did everything they could to make it work- including giving us tires and placing them onto the vehicle so we could transport the car. AAMCO went out of their way to help us. We do not know what we would have done without them. I would hightly recommend AAMCO for any services needed.

Shoot out to the best mechanics shop I have been too! My Jeep was rocking really hard and acting weird, naturally it was a very stressful ordeal UNTIL I took it to Russ Marr at Aamco Transmissions on Miller street and like that my stress was gone! This place is a very reliable and reputable company Russ and his team are one of the few honest shops around and thats hard to come by these days.

HACK SHOP !!! This place should not carry the aamco name. poor communication. over charged for repair and Damaged my car leaving fuel lines loose and cutting exhaust hanger off and not replacing it .

These guys did a great job repairing the a/c condenser in my mini van. They did an excellent job sticking to the quotes pricing and had me out the door quick.

Spent $3800 for my car to still not work. Eneded up selling them the car for $500

My husband had work done on transmission had to take it. Ack because they didnt get it right the first time, then had to take his truck to Dons Garage the third time to finally get it right. Not recommend !!!!!

Fast, knowledgeable and friendly service. I have been going to Arvadas AAmco since i moved to Colorado in 2003. I have never had any issues with the customer service or the quality of service and knowledge of my many vehicals i have brought to them. I would and do recommend them to everyone i know!!

I cant say enough about Russ and the guys at the Arvada Aamco, the are very knowledgeable and their customer service is second to none! We had two vehicles serviced there, one is a 2002 Saturn, this vehicle (an automatic) would not shift gears, our previous shop thought it was the transmission, Russ thought it was electrical, he was correct. The second vehicle is a 2003 Saturn Vue (5 speed), this vehicle needed new brakes. We received a very good price and great customer service. I guess whatI like most is the level of honesty and integrity these gentlemen have, it is a comfort to be able to trust your mechanic - we have five drivers and five vehicles and they will all be serviced by this Aamco now! We couldnt be happier!

My car sat this Aamco shop for a week and the manager didnt bother to fix it or tell me that he wasent going to fix it. I had to call every time I wanted any sort of update. Worst customer service ever.
