Colchin was awesome for me! I talked to Jason and he was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Honestly everyone I talked to was great! I had an emergency I needed fixed in a very short amount of time. I came in without an appointment and they had it fixed by lunch the same day. I will highly recommend them to anyone!

Kind staff - always very personable and friendly. Pretty quick, diagnosed in a day, fixed by tomorrow morning. Ive had the specific issue before, they were probably half a day faster than the dealerships. While it might not always be that quick, its proof theyre competent. Ill be coming here again.

Took my truck to Colchin for a second opinion and the folks there did an excellent job. They diagnose my trucks issue and explained it very well to me which included pricing to fix. Their rates for diagnostics and and the other fixes my truck needed were very reasonable. Colchin is a good, thorough, and clean auto shop, but not transparent in their labor charges, and seem to charge around 20-30% higher labor rates than other nearby shops like Factory Trained Auto. Their labor rates seem to be somewhere in the range of $110-$175 per hour based on my charges. Id expect similar or maybe slightly lower quality work at factory trained auto but at a lower price, although I havent been there yet.Its possible Colchin has more experience, is more thorough, and takes their time more than others, so that ~25% premium on labor may be due to having older and more experienced mechanics who take their time. It might even be from them taking more time at a similar hourly rate. I definitely appreciate mechanics taking their time to avoid mistakes and catch and fix any problems.However, the bill they gave me didnt show number of hours billed. I had to ask how many hours they were billing me for, since it seemed to be about 50%+ more than they said it should be, and Jason threw around 2 or 3 numbers (he couldnt seem to remember exactly how many hours, which is weird for a huge job) and mentioned something about not even paying the mechanic for how many hours he worked, which all seemed a little fishy to me in part because the mechanic was a Colchin and the guy doing the paperwork was not. Can a non-Colchin *really* tell a Colchin what to do at Colchin auto? Doubtful.They seem to take their time and have a very organized and clean shop, which is great. Their mechanics are also very experienced and seem to really know their stuff. Clay Colchin is experienced with the Ford 5.4 Triton engines (he has one himself) and was able to get mine running well after some timing issues.They were very professional and nice throughout the process. The place is super clean and well-organized.

The advisors are very knowledgeable and friendly, and listen m to your concerns. They got my truck back up and running in a timely manner at a fair price and went above and beyond what I asked for. I dropped my car off Monday night to have the power steering looked at. They called me first thing in the morning with the problem and cost to fix. They completed same day and took all payment over the phone. Communication was excellent, price was reasonable, and everything seems good. I will update review if something doesn’t go as expected, but based on others past experience, I doubt this. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my vehicles back. Thanks for the prompt service.

Colchin has to be one of the best shops around the area. I have worked with Collin several times on my vehicle and a couple times he has even helped me over the phone to fix my vehicle, myself. I have brought my car to Colchin after other shops told me that it needed work and Collin has offered to lift the car and inspect it free of charge, finding that no work actually needed to be done and showing me why. Surely they could have taken my money to do the work themselves, but that isnt how this shop operates. I have seen firsthand the dishonest practices employed by car repair shops in the Arvada area and Im thankful to say that Colchin has always had my back and taken care of my vehicle when placed into service with them. Their prices may not always be the absolute lowest (but not far off), but their service and techs are the best. To me, this translates to the best value. Just wanted to say thanks to Colchin and Collin especially for taking care of me every time and showing me that your shop is deserving of my trust as a consumer. Please keep doing what youre doing.

I found them very professional and detailed in recommending and performing my Chevy Malibu maintenance. They gave me detailed reports on each service performed and their cost estimates were right on target. They also give recommendations for future service needs. They are friendly and open about their ability to accommodate my schedule and needs along with commitments they have for other customers. They were recommended to me by a family member and I have been very pleased with their services. I have used them at least four times and on several vehicles. I plan to use them for all my future needs and recommend them highly.

Colchins team is a very honest and trustworthy group that always goes above and beyond. They under promise and over deliver, for example dropped my car off Monday morning to Colin with no scheduled appointment. He didnt think theyd fit it in until Wednesday, but sure enough Monday afternoon got the call its ready to go! You wont find many auto shops that tell you something is wrong with your vehicle, but its not 100% necessary to fix, most shops scare you into getting everything fixed.I’ve been a customer for a couple of years now and I just wish I had used them sooner!

Josh is awesome and always takes care of me & my car, researching the cheapest ways to go about fixing the issues and I always know (immediately, in less than one business day) what is a priority, or what needs to be done first, second and last. This is my second visit to Colchin Automotive. I own a 2014 Ford F350 diesel. My first visit was just a routine service (oil change,filters, fluid check, etc.) I found the facility to be VERY clean and professionally run. I was close to being due for another service, and my engine light, along with several other warning lights appeared. The diagnosis was to completely replace the DPF filter, which is very expensive. (I had no options, i.e., with computers and sensors and warning lights, essentially Im at the mercy of the technicians.) Once the work began at the shop, they were able to repair my existing system, SAVING me a considerable amount of money based on the the repair estimate. Josh and the entire staff restored my faith in humanity . These guys are HONEST and trustworthy. They earned my loyalty, and this review.

My air conditioning cut out so I scheduled an appointment at Colchin Automotive. The staff at Colchin Automotive are very knowledgeable and honest. All work on my vehicle was completed promptly with great communication throughout the process. During my last maintenance visit, I was provided with a detailed diagnostics report on my vehicle including the immediate recommended repairs and the risk factors associated with the recommended future repairs. As I typically have many questions, the staff was more than happy to talk me through all the specific details regarding the status of my vehicle and how their repairs would improve my vehicles performance.

Very disappointed with the outcome and having to purchase a new car because of it. I have never had to take my car in THREE DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE with no resolution!So where to begin, I took my car to Colchin a few months ago because the reviews were great. From the beginning I had a customer service issue with one of the desk guys but Tom was nice enough to fix things. I was charge $170something to diagnose my car, which I thought was a bit high, but my car was there so I agreed. They said my thermometer and housing unit needed to be replaced, so they replaced it.A few months passed and winter came. When I tried to put my heater on it felt cold again and my engine light came on, didnt want to go back to Colchin since I had an issue in the beginning with one of the front guys I didnt feel comfortable going back. So I called two places but they recommended I go back to Colchin because my car symptoms seemed to be a result of their work. SO, I went back!Colchin told me it was a defective part so they replaced it in one day and fixed a hosed. I was given my car that day, which I thought was a little fast. NOT even a week later, on my way to Thanksgiving dinner SAME car issues!!! Had to borrow a car and wait for their shop to open, which mind you, was a few days so I was left with NO CAR for those days. Then I called them explained the issue they said bring it in so I did. They then said, oh it looks like its your radiator. At that point I said this car is causing a lot of issues maybe I should just get a new car, they agreed.I told my family about the situation and they stated it seemed fishy and recommended I get a second opinion. I called another auto shop they only charged $45 to diagnose the car! They had really great reviews I did not mention I had work done previously! They stated that I needed a new radiator AND A THERMOMETER!!!! Unfortunately, I can no longer trust recommending Colchin or taking my car there.

Recently our jeep had a exhaust leak and it appeared that the header was cracked. After Colchin checked it they found that some of the header bolts were lose and had to be torqued. The good news was that they only fixed what was needed and the job was done at a fair price. You know what? Colchin is one automotive shop that you can trust to do only what is needed.

Once again they solved a problem with my truck.The problem was low oil pressure warnings.I checked for ODI errors (none), oil level is full.Colchin mechanics tracked issue to oil pressure sending unit. I am impressed they checked oil pressure, checked sending unit.Sending unit was replaced with a warning that the electrical connector was deformed.Excellent support. timely and complete.Jay

So, I am a woman in my early twenties with absolutely no knowledge about cars. Ive been to multiple auto repair shops where they upcharge me and screw me over. I went to Colchins because of a family recommendation. Theyre absolutely wonderful. I have major issues with my car, and unfortunately its beyond repair. So instead of trying to get me to repair a lot of unnecessary things, they helped me understand the issues with my vehicle, and made sure that I saved my money for a new one. Colin even showed me how to check my oil and my radiation fluid. Highly recommend this shop, everyone is very respectful, kind, and knowledgeable. Thank you all so much!

The work they did was really great. However, it is extremely hard to schedule any work if you have a 8-5, Monday through Friday job. I tried to schedule a repair while on vacation and they were unwilling to hold the vehicle until I returned. Its great service if you are able to get your car worked on.

As always, I was happy with the job that was done. Had servicing done for 150k miles plus asked for review of the cars general condition and opinion on future major repairs that might be needed. Ive had my vehicles serviced here for many years so I obviously trust their work and their opinions.

Did the work they promised and were thorough.

Colchin is always terrific. Unusually clean office, shop, and waiting area. They are fast and thorough. Love this place!

A couple weeks ago, my check engine light came on. I was concerned because I drive my kids around a lot, so I wanted it checked out ASAP. I looked online at some reviews, and found Colchin. Their website talked about how they have toys for kids, a spacious lobby for waiting, etc. They say women love Colchin. Well, not this woman. What happened was I called them about the check engine light. They did get me in fairly quickly (the only reason they get one star). But then things went downhill. I showed up with my 6 yr old son because they had talked about how easy it is to be entertained (note, they offer a discount on Uber or Lyft for working moms, but not stay at home moms. Apparently we dont also have places to be...?). There were NO toys in sight - if they do actually have them, they certainly didnt offer them. It says they give a free Auto Safety kit on your first visit. Nobody mentioned that either. In fact, everybody seemed completely disinterested. The reality is, I expect that from most automotive places, but they had lauded how amazing they are for moms, so I was disappointed in the lack of care they showed.What was even more upsetting was when they called and told me that the issue was a transmission relay switch that would cost over $600! After calling some other places, I discovered that they were grossly overcharging. I was very frustrated, and told them to forget it, Id take it elsewhere. They then charged me a diagnostic fee of $123.50 - for reading an engine light code! Most places are willing to do that for free... I paid it and left. I guess its my bad for not realizing they would rip me off. Oh, and guess what? My car hasnt had any issues since... I never had to replace any relay switch, and its been running just fine. I wont say for sure they were lying about the diagnosis, but it definitely seems suspect, dont you think?All that to say, Id steer clear of this place. The benefits they say they offer were non-existent, and worse than that, they almost took me for a $600 ride.

We brought in our Dodge diesel that we purchased used. The prior owner stated it had had the death wobble but hed had it fixed. Within a month of owning it wed experienced the death wobble twice. A friend referred us to Colchin and we are SO glad he did. Everyone was extremely helpful, honest and kept us informed of the work they performed. They honestly informed us that the prior repairs should have done the trick (done by the old owner at another mechanic). But when they dug in they discovered the prior repairs hadnt been done correctly and a part was installed wrong. They fixed the issue at a reasonable price and weve not experienced the death wobble since. These guys are great and we will now be life-long customers.
