Discovered Market Basket in 2011 when I started working security in the Crystal City shops. The food, prices and service are all on point. No complaints here. Plus theyre one of few businesses that havent gone out of business due to the high cost of rent and Covid-19. Its true. Only the strong 💪🏼 survive.👍🏼💯😂

If you go in after 5 p.m. or so, the hot/cold bars are half price (somewhere between $4.50 and $5.00 a pound). Ive picked up dinner here probably twice a week or more for the last year. Yes, the hot food wont be that hot that late in the day, but it is a great deal. I put together a pretty healthy dinner from mostly the salad bar.

Grocery store very limited with mostly empty shelves. Hot food bar and sandwich prep station are appropriate. This is deep inside an inside building with passages and shops.

Quick and convenient

Excellent place for a decent space filled with variety of small to medium size businesses. Its fun and great to visit all day and all night as its almost complete with everything from goods to merchandise. You would not be disappointed if you wander in the future at this wonderful location. Plus, the area is near your favorite hotels and Ronald Reagan National Airport!

If youre looking for wide variety of cheap random foods, market basket is for you. You can get sweet and sour chicken to go with your meat loaf, or fish nuggets to complement a salad. Im betting the food would have been better/fresher at lunch, but by the time I got there at dinner, it was a weird mix of hard and mushy. However, I did eat my fill for $7, so I guess you get what you pay for...

Not actually Market Basket and not even really a grocery store. Definitely more of a convenience store. Empty shelves, poor selection.

I like that they have a lot of variety of foods. But its much much pricier than other places. So if you can afford it its a great place

The store is big and has plenty of food. However, the staff are rude and have no customer service!! I went there 5 times in the past three weeks. Someone should teach them how to treat customers!FYI: When you get a tea, the store does not allow you refill the hot water!

Ive lived in the Crystal City/Pentagon City area for a little over 3 years now, so I visit the Underground Shops quite often. When arriving back into Crystal City from a long day at work, Im usually hungry for a snack, and am constantly tempted by Dunkin Donuts, or an Auntie Annes Pretzels. Thankfully, Ive never given in to Dunkin Donuts, though I have given in to Auntie Annes quite a few times. Though I know pretzels arent the unhealthiest of snacks, I know much healthier snacks await at Market Basket.Ive never tried their hot food or salad bar, and have only purchased packaged goods, which is what this review is based off of. Their prices for packaged goods (at least the snacks Ive purchased) are comparable to other places. I usually pick up a bag of a KIND bar (of which I also think they have every single flavor, because they sure have a wide selection).Walking home with a KIND bar in hand is so much more gratifying than walking home with an Auntie Annes Pretzel.

The Breakfast, salad, and hot food bar are all delicious. It can be a bit pricey, but its worth it.

Really cute with organic healthy food, not much variety, but everythings very fresh. Service is very good too, staff is incredibly helpful.

This has become my daily breakfast place, they have a decent variety of all sorts of food with a relatively good price. Its hard to find a place like this.
