I had brunch here the other day. There was a cozy atmosphere and the custom breakfast sandwich and iced latte that I ordered were scrumptious. The inside of the restaurant had a very unique interior design as well. They open early for breakfast and also had a lunch menu though they close before dinner. In addition, there are a few tables outside to enjoy your meal when the weather is right. I would recommend this place for a traditional American breakfast.
I had the breakfast biscuit with bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese. The biscuit was so warm and well made, highly recommend anything with the biscuit. The pulled pork was also tasty as well. I did not love the gumbo but my standards may be a bit high since the last I’ve had was in New Orleans. The cookie was really tasty though and were the grits
Went there for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. The beignets are absolutely delicious. Warm, fluffy, and coated with sugar. We also tried a few additional breakfast items that we thought were great. The only downside is they dont have hot chocolate. Whats a dude supposed to dunk his beignets in? Hint: dont say coffee :)
Dont go for Saints games. I was really disappointed in my experience. New to the area and was told besides Little Miss Whiskeys in DC that this was a place to watch games. Maybe things have changed. Not only was it a saints game we were playing WFT to boot. Anyway, I asked multiple folks working behind the counter if we could put the sound on for the back TV and they said no the Bakery music had to be heard and we could only watch with closed captioning. Really a bummer. Especially when you could hear the vikings bar across the road enjoying their game. Us and another table left at halftime. Will head to DC for the next one.Only had light food and was tasty. Did have to remind them after 20min that they forgot to make my mimosa.
Online ordering is a huge plus. Drinks were good (had an iced latte). Biscuit fully loaded wasn’t awesome (hence the 4 stars).Bakery looked good but didn’t get anything. Friendly staff. Would come back for coffee
Had the biscuits and gravy LA jumbalaya excellent. Wife had the grits with scallions/cheese nice and buttery outstanding as well
I highly recommend the Avocado Eggs Benedict and the Beehive Latte! Love this spot for a weekend breakfast or brunch.
The food is good and the Vignettes are amazing. But the service let us down. The place was empty when we arrived and it took since we order it took around 20 to 30 min. While the cooks were just gossiping by counter
Yum. Everything is over the counter but it has plenty of seating. One can also buy prepackaged things to go. Awesome. Try the cheese and the gumbo
Their food was one of the highlights of a party we hosted: jambalaya, mac and cheese, beignets, and a couple (not)king cakes were all excellent, plus the manager took the time to explain reheating and recommended options. Great experience.
As a longtime resident of Lincoln Parish, this place is pretty great. Wide selections of both prepared hot foods or tasty pastries at the full service coffee bar. With happy hour and beer on tap / bottled you could stay here all day and be in want of nothing. Opens at 7am for a quick cup of coffee (honestly though 6 would be better - make it happen?)
This is my second time here and I must say it was a bit of a disappointment to come back. We placed our order at the counter and it was not taken properly. I had to wait 15 mins extra after the rest of my order was ready to get my quiche platter. Food is supposed to be tasty but flavor is achieved by using lots of oil and made everyone feel quite heavy. I don’t recommend the coffee drinks at all and sadly our plain (no milk) brewed coffee had film of oil particles.
Amazing food for a person born and raised in Louisiana. The food is pretty good coming from a place out of the state!!
It was great. I had the gumbo and it was really good I would recommend to anyone that likes this style of food. 10/10 can’t wait to go back
Bayou Bakery is a unique and charming cafe. They have a great atmosphere and Really. Good. Coffee. However, the service is limited and so is the menu. A good choice for a drink after work or a coffee meet up before, but this is not a restaurant and not a place to spend a lot of time. If you have a chance though, you absolutely should go to one of their crawfish boils. (Pictured) *chef kiss*
Walked in on a meh day, middle of work on a walk. Staff there was super smiley - day brightened!(Food also great)
Casual, and the very best. Not just nourishing; perfect. Recommend.
Their BLT is excellent. The line was pretty wild on a Saturday morning, but it was worth it. Staff were super nice and patient, even through the morning rush.
Came for carryout (I highly recommend ordering beforehand, wait was a little lengthy). Food and prices were amazing, getting to their location is easy, and they have a great variety of Cajun/Louisiana style food/baked goods
Great classic cappuccino- not inundated with milk. Just the right amount.
Great coffee, excellent customer service. Gets busy so ordering online is a great alternative.
Strong ice tea with yummy pecan pralines. I was in good company and service. Definitely will return.
Love this spot for a nice quick brunch. The food and coffee is delicious and prices are great. The breakfast sandwiches and biscuits are so good and filling. As for the beignets, they were absolutely amazing and I would even venture to say they were better than Cafe Du Monde! Love having a Louisiana style bakery here in Virginia. Plus, I love the added touches, like the decor to really bring the place together.
Great little bakery with some tasty looking treats. We focused on the beignets. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Good ☕ and excellent beignets. Cozy coffee place.
I’ve heard a lot about the brunch at this place and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately I don’t think they serve brunch on weekdays I ended up going with the egg and cheese on a biscuit which was really nice. Also the beignets are very tasty and the hot chocolate is perfect. The place was a bit crowded so we were lucky to find a table, but service was pretty quick. Would definitely go back.
Ordered a King cake completely on a whim and it turned out to be absolutely delicious. Everybody who tried agreed it was delicious, so light, fluffy, and great pastry flavor. The only thing I wish, is that there was an option to put the baby Jesus inside before you pick it up, it came on the side, which we didn’t even end up using and we were looking forward to it already being in the cake.Overall, best King Cake I’ve had, smooth ordering process (even though it had to be 48hrs in advance), and an on time pick up.
Vegetable and turkey sandwiches were good. Beignets were a bit too doughy. Food came our decently fast.
Excellent food, courteous staff, always a good experience.
Good service and bakery items yummy!
Line is long but the food is yummy, would recommend the bbq pork biscuit
The beignets are delicious! The spiked drinks are good too.
A taste of New Orleans for sure! The beignets, Bloody Mary, and veggie sandwich was amazing! Kind service, great atmosphere.
Good place to get some hot beignets
Great food, friendly service... Did I mention great food?
Amazing food here and great atmosphere. Highly recommend, it was my first time here and Id go back in a heart beat. I was kind of surprised they didnt have more seafood like shrimp and crawfish, but it was still great.
Bayou Bakery is a shining star in the Arlington community. The food is absolutely delicious and the pastries are superb. Coffee is some of the best, with fast, friendly, and reliable service. They even do a lot of amazing work with our community, becoming a “soup kitchen” for those in need when the Pandemic started and they had to close down for a bit. Bayou Bakery is a must go to when in the area.
I lived in and around Arlington for about three years. Bayou Bakery is a solid choice for a quick or leisurely weekday or weekend breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Stay for a second, stay for two hours: they’ve got WiFi, great customer service, the best coffee in Roslyn/Courthouse, and amazing selection of meals or snack. Plus, the owner dedicated his resources and talents to keep kids fed during the toughest parts of COVID. Stand up restaurant, stand up owner.Sometimes on the weekend, a table might be hard to find so if you bring a party with folks who need to sit down quickly, plan to get there early or mid-late afternoon!
Sweetest folks - my family is from the greater New Orleans area and this place felt like home from the moment we walked in. Would be an amazing place to catch a Saints game!
My kids and I stopped here this morning. My daughter went in to get beignets. I waited outside with hazard lights on thinking it shouldn’t take more than 5 to 10 minutes. Three beignets. Nothing else. No coffee. Me and my son were outside waiting for half an hour and no sign of my daughter! I finally found a parking space, walked inside the cafe and found her still standing waiting for those 3 beignets! And the place wasn’t even that crowded. Two people in the order line. I waited my turn and after another 10 minutes of wait, asked the cashier about our order. After checking she proceeded to nonchalantly say “looks like someone else picked up your order by mistake”. Then through the corner of my eye I saw a few beignets lying at the pick-up side and I asked the cashier if I could get those. (Thats the least I could expect since they let someone else pick up my order). The “manager” overheard me and pretty rudely said to me “thats not the way how it works! That is someone else’s order.” And I’m thinking - Ms. manager, your cashier just acknowledged that you screwed up my order. I have waited 40 minutes for three lousy beignets and you say you cannot give me the beignets that are lying there?! If the owner is reading this, I hope you recognize that you have a manager that does not know the a,b,c’s of customer service and is probably not representing you. Oh, and if as your cashier stated that someone else picked up our order, is anyone checking the receipts before the food and drinks are being handed out? It wasn’t a great start to my Father’s Day as my kids had to endure this with me. 40+ minutes wasted because of bad service and a manager with a bad attitude. One star.
Delious New Orleans style food and friendly service. Definitely will return! And highly recommend.
This is a wonderful little gem located in Arlington. Their food is delicious and their drinks are even better. We ate breakfast here daily even though our hotel offered free breakfast. The ambiance was that of a great little cafe and the food was great perk. There are bistro tables located outside as well. It truly is the quintessential cafe...what every Starbucks and Scooters wishes that they were.
Great place to meet friends.
We enjoyed a Cajun latte with bourbon and beehive latte with eggs Benedict, bread pudding and beignets. Friendly service, great atmosphere and authentic Cajun food. Liked it so much we brought home crawfish étouffée!
Coffee was delicious and staff really friendly but Im giving 3 stars because they were cooking life crawfish on the street at plain sight and had a terrible feeling and smell. Im vegetarian so it was absolutely painful to witness it.
Delicious gluten free chocolate crinkle cookies! Crispy outside and soft, rich chocolate center prompted happiness with every bite.
Yum on the cinnamon roll...so good! The chai latte had a funny taste to it. Probably a one off.
Nice cafe atmosphere. I love pimento cheese, but my pimento cheese egg biscuit wasnt anything great. Coffee and beignet were great!
Walked in mid afternoon to grab a coffee and get some work done. As I approached the counter, all I heard was “closed”. Nothing more nothing less...well alrighty then. No sign, no hospitality.....no thank you.
Awesome! Im in from Texas and best breakfast since I got here.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff is efficient and knowledgeable. Very comfortable ambience. Also, they did a hellava job supporting the Arlington community during this pandemic. Loyalty forever, thanks.
My family is from St.Charles Parish in the New Orleans area, and King Cake is a yearly tradition for us to welcome Mardi Gras season once Epiphany comes around. When I tell you that this was the best King Cake that I have ever had, I am not exaggerating. While the flavor and texture were different to what we are used to, we couldnt have been more pleasantly surprised. Dont expect the thick and heavy King Cake you might be familiar with, because this one is more light airy and buttery, similar to a croissant. The coffee options are to-die-for. Do try the option with orange and honey, because it is so nice and refreshing. To top it off, the ambiance is on point. With N.O.themed music around the clock (they even played some classic bounce!!) The immersion factor is very real. Loved it!Edit: I also wanted to say thanks to the manager with the long black hair and pretty nails for being awesome and so accommodating, she really took our experience to the next level.
A good counter service style restaurant for coffee and breakfast sandwiches with a New Orleans influenced menu and theme. They have different kinds of biscuits and also have pastries and beignets. Its a small place with somewhat limited seating, so you may have to wait for a seat if theres a crowd. We got biscuits with bacon, egg, and cheese which were pretty tasty.
There biscuits and gravy are awesome!!!
Great place. Awesome biscuits.
Not much to write home about. The coffee was okay and they had a few snacks. Not much of a menu. I think they only survive because of the location as it relates to Arlington County Government. They have signs on the table that you need at least three people to be allowed to sit at a booth. Didnt feel very welcoming or friendly.
The service and the staff were both wonderful. Just stopped in for a quick coffee but stayed for a biscuit and beignets.
I always wanted to visit this little Lousiana cuisine restaurant as it is hard to visit for their hard work hours. But, on my six attempt I made it with half hour before closing, but I was amazed with the Cafe and beignets. Very good quality almost the same as Cafe Du mondè!
Coffee and beignets comparable if not better to Cafe Du Monde (NOLA Cafe Classic)
Today our office ordered a team lunch and (2) Gulf Shrimp Burgers were ordered, yet we did not find out they only had enough shrimp for 1 burger until they delivered our order and substituted it for an unpleasant and DRY turkey sandwich. That alone earned the 1 star and yet if I could vote much lower for the quality of this cafeteria sandwich, I would.
Come for the coffee. Try the savory scone.
Excellent way to celebrate mardi gras all year long. Their spiced cider is really yummy.
Tried the everything croissant this time. Its filled with cream cheese and is delicious.
Amazing!!!! The Avocado Benedict, the Avacado Toast, the quiche but most of all the service is worth the drive!! I will be back!!
Delicious food. I had the hangover cure.
Having lived in the NOLA area for a number of years, I found this place a real treat. Its almost always packed and can be a little confusing between ordering and getting your food, but its a pretty authentic experience from that standpoint as well. The food is true to its roots and I look forward to my next visit.
Even Mcdonalds is better.Thank you for replying. I thought it was obvious but let me explain. First, Because of the pandemic, I do not own a positive review for a terrible experience. If I were you, I would be embarrassed about serving the type of food I received for the amount I paid. Second, Making a decent breakfast is not that hard, but it is hard if you do not have a stove. I ordered a biscuit with eggs. My bf had the same thing with bacon. what we got were cold fake eggs and a terrible terrible biscuit. SO, why McDonalds is better? because the food there is at least hot! I would not call myself a chief if I was serving THAT! I know food, thats why it was shocking that someone who makes a living of making food allows himself not only to charge good money for an uneatable food but also provide no customer support.
Nice location. A cute Boutique experience. However, I do see a slight difference between pre pandemic and now in the quality of taste. Im willing to give a pass, due new cooks and such. Will try again in the future.
